In this third and final episode on being unspotted from the world, Arnie and Fred begin by discussing minor concessions. Can we make these and remain faithful to the Lord? We talk about our speech and the kinds of words we might use a little bit of.  Being honest comes up in our discussion. Do we tolerate a little cheating and theft on our part? What about immorality. Do we give a wink and a nod at a little bit of it? Do we watch TV shows, read books and sing songs that have a little number of suggestive words and deeds? Is a little bit of the world ever a good thing for us? What kind of danger does this pose to us?  We complete this episode by looking at where compromise and concession with the things of the world lead us. In this second episode of being unspotted from the world, Arnie and Fred begin by noting that there can be no compromise with the world. We are either different from the world or like the world. We look at several passages that Paul wrote concerning this. If we do compromise with Satan, we note that we will be disloyal to the Lord. There is no middle ground. We next talk about the fact that compromise is gradual and not necessarily noticeable. Minor concessions seen less significant. We look at Daniel and talk about the concessions that he did not make. We talk about some of the so-called minor concessions that some Christians make. We discuss Queen Vashti referred to in Esther and what she did when called upon to violate her conscience. We look at some of the differences between the world, Satan's kingdom, and the kingdom the Christian is in. We note that these kingdoms are nor just different but are totally opposite from one another. We talk about them being rival kingdoms with rulers that are intolerant of one another. We look at the loyalty demanded by both and what that means. We close out this episode with a discussion of the conflict involved and the militancy involved in that conflict including the weapons that are available. A very good morning to you! It is Tuesday morning, 28 June 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.If we start with Psalm 37 and I am reading from verse 27, the Lord says:“Depart from evil, and do good;And dwell forevermore.For the Lord loves justice,And does not forsake His saints;They are preserved forever,But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.The righteous shall inherit the land,And dwell in it forever.”What a beautiful scripture that is! Then we go straight to Proverbs 2 and this is what the word confirms yet again:“For the upright will dwell in the land,And the blameless will remain in it;But the wicked will be cut off from the earth,And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.”Proverbs 2: verse 21-22You know, it sometimes appears these days, that evil and corruption are multiplied and the wicked are getting away with it... Not so according to our scripture this morning! The Lord says He will take care of the wicked. Jesus tells us to take care of the widow and the orphan, He tells us to do good. If we look at the word of God in James 1:27, this is what it says:“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”That is what we have got to do. Leave the wicked person unto the Lord, He will sort him out. When I was a young boy I left school very early - I worked in a tyre factory. It was a dirty and tough job, it was extremely hot. I was living in Central Africa. But now and again one of our customers, an old man who owned a fleet of old trucks (They were all tied together with bits of wire, painted silver, with a paintbrush by the way!) He would arrive on a very hot afternoon with a big toolbox full of ice cream and he would make an ice cream cone for every one of us in the factory. He did it out of the goodness of his heart - There was no charge but of course, you know who got preferential treatment and the best service when he came in to collect his tyres!Today, do good, dwell in the land and leave the rest to Jesus.Have a wonderful day, God bless you and goodbye.

James 1:27To follow Christ with your whole life, using all the gifts and abilities you’ve been given to serve and honor Jesus. In your relationships with others, to treat them in the same way Christ would. To “love the Lord you God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind… and love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39After this we can pray to be used by God, and can expect to be used in greater ways than we could ever accomplish ourselves. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20 God can use us in ways we never dreamed for His glory if we ask Him to and sincerely want to be used.Do you want to be used by God? Do you pray asking Him to use you? All you have to do is ask Him and He will use you.If we desire to be used by God, Satan will do everything in his power to destroy us. But God gives us a shield, a shield called faith. “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Ephesians 6:16

Spots are a teenager’s nightmare! But Christians should also avoid them. Paul warns believers to “keep oneself unspotted from the world” by not being conformed to its accepted standards, conduct and behaviour. Our Saviour was “without blemish and without spot”. Guilty, vile, and helpless we; Spotless Lamb of God was He; “Full atonement!” can it be? Hallelujah! What a Saviour!
