This week Ahmed & Tom talk about: Sutton United's promotion to the Football League Who will get Play-Offs on the final day? Hornchurch & Warrington Rylands triumphant on Non-League Finals Day Ft. Audio Matchday Experience by Conor Reid All the other Non-League News
Tim Fuell reports on the FA Vase 2021 and FA Trophy 2021 Finals from Non League Finals Day with Binfield, Warrington Rylands, Hornchurch and Hereford. David Richardson provides the week's round-up including Sutton United winning the title and getting promoted to the Football League, the National League EGM resolution vote of no confidence in the board and the fixtures on the final weekend of the main season with many clubs still hoping for a play off spot. One club hoping they can get a result and have others go for them to make the play-offs are FC Halifax Town. Manager Pete Wild has a win ratio similar to Clough and Hodgson and since taking on the role just under two years ago - the very same day Boris Johnson became Prime Minister - he's take the club from turmoil to stability and possibly back-to-back play-offs.
It's a very exciting week with Non League Finals Day at Wembley on Saturday in front of fans!Tim Fuell gets some interesting revelations from each of the four clubs taking part.First-up Josh Gowling the young manager at Hereford in his first managerial job looking to repeat his Play-off final win with Grimsby Town from the last time he was at Wembley.Between him and that is Mark Stimson, manager of Hornchurch but also a man with four FA Trophy wins already to his name (once as a player and three times as a manager). Yet, despite all that experience he admits Saturday still has a massive magical appeal. Before the FA Trophy final, two Step Five sides this week elevated to Step Four in the FA restructure, will do battle in the FA Vase. It's the competition with perhaps the greatest stories of clubs at the heart of their communities, building dreams and memories, so we speak to the Chairman who have their hands on the tiller.First up Binfield FC's Bob Bacon, who describes the crazy day, he's already had and why it is so important some of the old stalwarts of the club will be at Wembley to cheer them on. In opposition on the day but in unison in many ways too, Chairman Mark Pye at Warrington Rylands is looking forward to a great day out for his team but everybody at the club including the kids in the youth set-up who will also enjoy heading Wembley Way.Helping understand the big weekend at the top of the National League and the restructuring announcement this week is Non League Paper's David Richardson with the week's round-up of news.
The first in our special "Welcome to the NPL podcasts".This week we hear from five clubs promoted into the NPL Midlands and NPL West divisions for next season, as we're joined by the Managers of Warrington Rylands, Bootle, 1874 Northwich, Shepshed Dynamo, and Sporting Khalsa.Music by Hard Luck Child www.unsigned.com/hardluckchild
Tim Fuell speaks to Walsall Wood manager Darren Byfield on being one step away from a return appearance at Wembley, lessons learnt in Management and going into their FA Vase semi final at Warrington Rylands as underdogs. Also on the show Garry Haylock a former manager and Chairman now working with PlayerData on bringing GPS trackers on an affordable level for non league clubs to get the best form their player via sports science.Plus David Richardson provides his informative insight into the week's news with the Non League Paper round up.
Tim Fuell flies solo as he catches up post-match with the managers at Wembley on Non League Finals Day 2020. There's reflections from Consett boss Terry Mitchell and Concord Rangers Manager Danny Scopes on Wembley defeat and cheerier contemplation from Hebburn Town gaffer Kevin Bolam and Harrogate Town's Simon Weaver.Moving back to this year's competition Tim speaks to Hebburn's opposition this weekend in the Quarter Finals. Warrington Rylands 1906 manager Dave McNabb is a man making sure his preparations are right as he aims to take his club that next step in good times at Gorsey Lane.Already on step nearer Wembley, Binfield face a semi-final against the only Step 6 side remaining in the competition but United Services Portsmouth as we know are in giantkilling mode this season. It won't be easy for the Hellenic leaguers on their travels South but having got this far by only playing away in this competition this season and winning them all joint managers Carl Withers and Jamie McClurg are confident their team can handle it.
Swampy returns as this week's co-host alongside Tim Fuell as they chat Super League fall-out and the FA Vase as we reach the Fifth Round. First guest Gary Forrest saw his team beaten 4-0 in the competition last week but an illegible player in the East Ferriby line-up sees his West Auckland reinstated ahead of this weekend's trip to Warrington Rylands. A competition with much history for the manager and club, he hopes for a better performance from his team this weekend. The only step 6 club remaining in the competition, United Services Portsmouth FC is led by manager Glenn Turnbull who is hoping he can get the best out of his team once again as they prepare to travel to Tavistock this weekend. Already committed to leaving at the end of the season to head up neighbours Moneyfields, could a Wembley final be the perfect way to bow out?Rounding off the week's news and the show is David Richardson, Senior Writer at The Non League Paper
