Unamuno consigue crear un santo moderno y profundamente humano, un mártir de la incredulidad que sigue actuando como si creyera. Una obra que sigue interpelando a creyentes yno creyentes por igual. Marguerite Yourcenar, por su parte, logra con “Memorias deAdriano” (1951) una de las reconstrucciones históricas más impresionantes de la literatura universal. Escrita en forma de memorias del emperador romano Adriano dirigidas a su sucesor Marco Aurelio, la novela es un prodigio de erudición,sensibilidad y estilo. Yourcenar revive con una precisión asombrosa el siglo II d.C., sus guerras, amores (especialmente con Antínoo), reflexiones filosóficas y el peso del poder. Es una meditación profunda sobre el gobierno, la belleza, la mortalidad y el paso del tiempo. La prosa es majestuosa, serena y profundamente humana. Se considera una de las grandes novelas históricas del siglo XX y consolidó a Yourcenar como la primera mujer en ingresar a la Academia Francesa. Uno nos muestra la agonía íntima de un hombre que sacrificasu verdad por amor a los demás. La otra nos coloca en la mente de uno de los hombres más poderosos de la historia, reflexionando sobre el sentido de su vida ante la muerte inevitable. España y Bélgica. Unamuno y Yourcenar. In episode 216 (Part 3) of Game Changers, Professor Phil Cummins joins in conversation with Emily FitzSimons Emily is an experienced educational leader and is currently the Principal at Overnewton Anglican Community College, an independent, coeducational school with approximately 2,100 students from Prep – Year 12, situated on two campuses in​ Melbourne's Northwest. Emily leads Overnewton's commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and courageous school culture, where each child is known and cherished for their uniqueness but, importantly, is also called to be a thoughtful and​ compassionate citizen of the world. Prior to her current role, Emily held the positions of Director of Teaching and Learning, and Director​ of the Centre for Learning, Research and Innovation at The Geelong College, and Director of​ Learning and Teaching Excellence at St Peter's College in Adelaide. Whilst at St Peter's, Emily held​ a diversity of other roles, including seven years caring for boys in the Boarding House, and Head of Positive Education. A key aspect of Emily's leadership is her ability to lead high-performing teams and evolve​ organisational culture. She possesses a keen interest in staff development, efficacy and growth,​ and in College-wide wellbeing programs, aimed at developing resilience and character through a​ holistic approach.​ With almost 30 years of classroom and middle leadership experience prior to her senior roles,​ Emily has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education with majors in English Literature and History.​ She has a Masters in Education from the University of Newcastle, a Graduate Certificate in​ Neuroscience for Learning from Flinders University and, significantly, holds Masters of Applied​ Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. Carolyn Adriano died from an accidental drug overdose in May of this year, but in reality it was Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein's abuse that led to her death. After suffering years of abuse at the hands of Maxwell and Epstein, Carolyn was "aged out" because she hit the age of 18 and from there things continued to spiral. Experiencing trauma can have profound and lasting effects on an individual's mental and emotional well-being. Some people who suffer trauma turn to drugs as a coping mechanism, seeking relief from the intense psychological pain and distress that trauma can bring. This summary explores the complex relationship between trauma and substance abuse, shedding light on the factors that drive individuals to self-medicate with drugs.Trauma, whether caused by violence, accidents, natural disasters, or other distressing events, can lead to feelings of helplessness, anxiety, depression, and flashbacks.
