What does it really take to hit a Golden Door in alarms—not once, but three times? In this episode, we sit down with Sebastian Bower, an elite D2D veteran who's sold over 1,600 accounts since 2018 without ever jumping industries. He's proof that staying the course, sharpening your edge, and refusing to fold under pressure is the true path to elite performance.Sebastian's not selling solar, insurance, or grass. He's still in alarms—and still dominating. In fact, his biggest leap came when he stripped things down, went solo, and made it personal. He stopped working hard enough and started working to prove what he was capable of.

Send us a textIn this episode of The Fat Doctor Podcast, I'm joined by Elle Bower Johnston, a breathworker, rest teacher, and somatic trauma resolution practitioner who describes herself as a "body witch." Our conversation explores the intersection of trauma, embodiment, and healing beyond traditional therapy.Elle explains trauma as "when our body-mind experiences something that it can't digest in the moment - either too much too fast, or not enough over too long." While our protective mechanisms (fight, flight, freeze, and fawn) are natural responses to threats, trauma occurs when these responses get stuck and can't complete. We discuss how systems of oppression create ongoing trauma, particularly for marginalized bodies accessing healthcare. Elle shares how our bodies develop protective mechanisms that may have been necessary for survival, but can become limiting patterns later in life. The conversation moves beyond cognitive understanding to explore embodied healing. As Elle notes, "You can't think your way through" trauma - we need approaches that engage the multifaceted aspects of our bodies: physical, emotional, energetic, and relational. In a world disconnected through capitalism and colonialism, Elle suggests that rest isn't just about lying down or taking a bath - it's about reconnecting with something larger than ourselves. This might be as simple as noticing the seasons changing or feeling gravity's pull on your body. These small moments of connection become pathways to true rest and healing. This episode invites listeners to honor the wisdom in their protective responses while exploring gentle ways to expand beyond them, finding rest and embodiment in a world that often disconnects us from our bodies and each other. You can learn more about Elle through her website. Ward Bower pretty much invented the modern solar industry and the grid-tied inverter. Bill Brooks, who everyone knows is another one of the greatest solar minds of all time gives Sean a hand interviewing their friend Ward Bower. Ward has had a Forrest Gump type of experience in the solar industry, being there when everything happened. He saw the founding of NABCEP, the modern grid-tied inverter, he sits on many panels writing the codes that make solar safe. Ward and Bill have been working closely together on the National Electrical Code for decades. Sean First met Ward when he was recruited for a NABCEP committee and met at Sandia Labs in New Mexico. Ward is the nicest person with a huge heart and deserves a lot more nice things to be said about him than what we are saying about him here. For those of you listening to this podcast far in the future, after we are long gone, do your best to use this recording to make an AI version of Ward. With over 100 million packages recycled since its launch in 2019, Bower has proven that incentivizing people with real-world rewards can significantly increase recycling rates without building new infrastructure. From barcode scanning to AI-powered image recognition, the Bower app empowers users to recycle all types of packaging and earn rewards simply by dropping items into ordinary recycling bins. It's simple, scalable, and working across more than 170 countries. Berfin Mert, co-founder and COO of Bower, explains how their latest innovations now detect items without barcodes, such as coffee cups, cigarette butts, and batteries. She shares how AI-driven guidance has led to a 32% improvement in sorting rates, and why location-based data is key to building smarter, more responsive recycling systems. We also discuss the realities of building a circular economy, the growing role of brands like Nestlé and Varta, and why a purely sustainable pitch isn't always enough to bring companies on board. Berfin's perspective on bridging environmental goals with business realities makes this conversation stand out. She talks openly about expanding their value proposition to include marketing insights and loyalty tools, making the platform attractive to both eco-conscious users and revenue-driven brands. Toward the end of our chat, Berfin opens up about her own journey, crediting her brother and co-founder as the person who inspired her to take the leap into entrepreneurship. It's a grounded, honest look at innovation, impact, and the people who help bring both to life. This episode offers a fresh, practical perspective if you've ever wondered how small tech-driven actions can influence global sustainability. Could your packaging be worth something more? Let's find out together.

It all begins innocently enough: two young friends, intrigued by ghostly lore and unsolved mysteries, explore an abandoned cottage in hopes of uncovering a few spooky secrets. Instead, they stumble upon dead crows pinned to the earth, footprints appearing from nowhere, and a chilling sense of something utterly malevolent. One of them sees visions of a fiery tragedy from decades past; the other flees in terror – only to be confronted by the fabled “Coast of Bower,” a phantom carriage led by dark horses and a headless driver. Suddenly, the idea of childish curiosity and summer exploration is crushed by the realization that Death can come calling on any lonely road. In this episode of The Mentors Radio, Host Tom Loarie talks with Hans-Werner Kass, co-dean of McKinsey's CEO Leadership Program, The Bower Forum, and co-author of The Journey of Leadership: How CEOs Learn to Lead from the Inside Out. You'll learn how to go from self-doubt, to driving bold organizational change and actionable steps to achieve goals, leading from the inside out; a truly eye-opening journey! Culling from decades of experience counseling top CEOs around the globe, Hans-Werner has gained an unparalleled view into the minds and behaviors of many leaders. His work has enabled him to see first-hand the personal and professional struggles of CEOs, giving him unique insights into why they struggle and how they can grow. Often leaders do not have anyone to talk to peer-to-peer. The Bower Forum provides a safe space for CEOs to open up about their fears, something rarely talked about and rarely discussed in other leadership books. Kaas and his team show these leaders how to overcome what is holding them back and key steps they can take to lead their organizations to success. For leaders, especially CEOs, it's action and example (not words) that truly drives organizational success and boosts individual and team productivity. In this conversation, Hans-Werner will share not only how he has helped leaders transform, but also the deeper reasons behind their challenges. You'll learn practical insights and inspiring stories you won't want to miss!
