Am 5. September 1992 zogen dann rund 1500 Menschen über die Bahnhofstrasse, angemeldet als politische Demonstration gegen das Tanzverbot. Heute kommen gegen eine Million. Krynski erinnert sich an ein Zürich, in dem es «meistens gar nichts gab»: kaum Clubs, kaum Orte, an denen man bis morgens tanzen konnte, wenig Lebensfreude. Er erzählt, wie die Stadt 1994 die Bewilligung verweigerte, weil Zürich angeblich zu klein für die Parade sei, wie eine Medienkonferenz und öffentlicher Druck den Entscheid kippten, und warum die erzwungene Verlegung ans Seebecken das Beste war, was der Parade passieren konnte.Host Christoph Soltmannowski war selbst in die Anfänge involviert: Er gründete damals mit Gregory Zäch, Zeno Van Essel und Peter Wolf das House- und Technomagazin Sputnik, verteilte mit Marek am Voraben der ersten Parade Flyer, war einer der drei Gründer des Vereins Street Parade und war lange Medienchef der Parade. 2002 schrieb er ein Buch über die Street Parade.
