A new MP3 sermon from Ballymena Free Presbyterian Church is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: Not Weary in Well Doing Subtitle: Studies in 2nd Thessalonians Speaker: Rev. John Greer Broadcaster: Ballymena Free Presbyterian Church Event: Sunday - AM Date: 5/2/2021 Bible: 2 Thessalonians 3:13 Length: 53 min.
Sunday, March 14, 2021 - The title of today's message is "Time to Double Down". We are diverting for the day from our study on 2 Peter because today at the end of our service we are having our annual business meeting and this message is what the Lord would have us speak about as we are preparing for that meeting. As a church, these kinds of meetings are always good opportunities to evaluate where we've been, where we're going, and who and what we are in the moment. Looking around, it's easy to see the many challenging things that are against us as a church, both in the church and in the environment we're living in. I think you all probably know exactly what I'm talking about. So as I was praying about this, two words came to my mind, and I believe they were from the Holy Spirit - "Double Down"... This is the time to "Double Down" on everything that is in God's Word for Christians to hold on to today. It's not the time to grow weary or question one's faith and give up!! There is too much to talk about here, so I encourage you to listen in. Worship with us and then study God's word... Be blessed and Double Down...

On today’s show, a conversation about the legacy of Jim Crow, representation, race and reclaiming racial stereotypes. The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of MD African American History and Culture has traveling exhibition from the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia in Big Rapids, Michigan. It’s called Hateful Things, and it includes objects from the 19th century through the present that dehumanize African Americans, and show, in striking and disturbing ways, how the pernicious legacy of Jim Crow continues to weave itself into the fabric of the American story. On Saturday afternoon, the Johns Hopkins University Center for Africana Studies is presenting a panel at the Lewis Museum called “Unpacking Hateful Things ---- Contemporary Practices.” Today, Tom welcomes two of the panelists to Studio A: Vernu257u Myers, the recently appointed Vice President of Inclusion Strategy at Netflix, and author of the books: Moving Diversity Forward: How to Move from Well-Meaning to Well-Doing, and What if I Say the Wrong Thing? 25 Habits for Culturally Effective People. And, Dr. Lester Spence, a political scientist on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University. His latest book is called Knocking the Hustle: Against the Neoliberal Turn in Black Politics. Dr. Spence will be moderating the panel, which also includes the literary historian Lawrence Jackson, the cultural historian Martha Jones, and the political scientist Rob Lieberman. Our conversation was streamed live on WYPR’s Facebook page.
Imagine daily life that is joyful, meaningful, and abundant without regrets, worries, or doubts. Sound unrealistic? What if it isn't? Consider the saying, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” As you tune-in to the call of Soul, your sense of purpose expands and your suffering dissolves. Regardless of whether you struggle with health, wealth, or relationship challenges, everything goes better when you let love lead. As a creative messenger and spiritual teacher, Korrine Holt draws upon her personal, professional, and spiritual experiences in service to those seeking greater meaning and well-being. Having spent three decades integrating diverse experiences and challenging aspects, she is intimate with the pitfalls and high points of awakening. From that learning, she has created The Art of Well-Being, The Joy of Well-Doing, and Poetry With Benefits, invoking heartful listening to hear the call of Soul on one's journey of awakening.
