Real confession is not anonymous therapy for a guilty conscience and it's not something you can outsource to a website, a phone call, or a paid stand-in. True confession is openly admitting our sin to Jesus Christ, because He alone is the mediator and the only source of lasting forgiveness and spiritual freedom. Then we go somewhere most people wouldn't expect for a masterclass on biblical repentance: the Book of Jonah. Nineveh hears a blunt warning, believes in God, and responds with a citywide turn that touches everything. We break down what repentance actually means, why true faith rests in God rather than the messenger, and how confession proves itself over time. The details are vivid: fasting, sackcloth, humility, and a public rejection of violence and wickedness. This is not religious talk. It's life change. We also talk about mercy and hope. If God's grace can break through in Nineveh, nobody is too far gone and nobody should be crossed off your prayer list. We connect that to the Welsh Revival and Evan Roberts' four practical commitments, including the kind of restitution that made workplaces overflow with returned stolen goods. If you want a clearer, more honest practice of Christian confession, biblical repentance, and public faith in Jesus Christ, press play. Research shows that reading the Bible at least four times per week creates a dramatic tipping point in spiritual growth, leading to significant decreases in negative behaviors and increases in positive spiritual activities. There are three powerful approaches to Scripture: reading for information using the FACT method, reading for application using the SOAP method, and reading for transformation using the REAP method. Each approach serves a vital purpose and they often work together to deepen your engagement with God's Word. The key to experiencing life change is consistency in regular Scripture reading, allowing God to transform you from the inside out.

Pastor Sean reminds us that every day we are sowing seeds that will eventually produce a harvest. In Galatians 6, we're challenged to stay rooted in the cross, sow to the Spirit, and not grow weary in doing good. You are not trapped by yesterday's failures—because in Christ, you are a new creation.

With the revealing of the first two of three woes, evil is allowed to do its worst and unleash havoc and destruction among the earth dwellers. An opportunity for repentance remains, but the people choose rejection instead. In the end, humans become what they worship and they get what they want.
Throughout His earthly ministry Jesus used stories that His audience could identify with in order to help them understand a heavenly truth. They're called “parables”. We're about to encounter one such parable today, and it's one of the best known of all shared by the Lord. The parable of the sower really is designed to get us to think about the condition of our own heart, so let's do that together. Welcome back to It Was What It Was. In today's episode, co-hosts Rob Draper and Jonathan Wilson continue Graham Taylor's England story as the 1994 World Cup qualifying begins to wobble, with Paul Gascoigne's talent and volatility dominating the narrative. They examine how Taylor's pragmatic, direct style—shaped by lower-league realities and later linked (often unfairly) to FA long-ball doctrine—collided with more technical European approaches, and how internal battles involving Charles Hughes and data pioneer Charles Reap poisoned the backdrop. England's campaign lurches through a Norway draw at Wembley after a late stunner, a Gascoigne-inspired win over Turkey, and a damaging 2–2 draw with the Netherlands featuring an undetected elbow and a late penalty. With Gascoigne returning in a mask, England then stumble in a hostile Poland away match and escape with a late equaliser, before Taylor's brutal “headless chickens” verdict leaves his team heading to Oslo under growing pressure.00:24 Setting the Scene03:08 Taylor's Pragmatic Roots06:50 Pressing vs Possession10:04 Charles Hughes and the Winning Formula13:55 Reap vs Hughes Fallout19:31 Norway's Long Ball Irony21:59 Back to Qualifying Hopes24:10 Gazza's Norway Controversy26:50 Taylor's Gaza Dilemma28:22 Norway Opener Heartbreak30:53 Turkey Win and Dependence32:53 Too Honest With Press40:12 Dutch Clash at Wembley44:13 Mask Return and Mania45:52 Poland Chaos and Critique49:03 Headless Chickens Finale Hosted on Acast. In this episode, Dr. Jim walks through the powerful biblical principle of sowing and reaping from Galatians 6. He challenges listeners to recognize that every choice—whether spiritual or fleshly—plants a seed that will eventually produce a harvest. With both warning and encouragement, this episode calls young people to live with eternity in view by sowing to the Spirit and responding rightly when God speaks to their hearts. Topics Discussed The unchanging law of sowing and reaping Sowing to the flesh vs. sowing to the Spirit Why consequences are inevitable and often greater than expected The importance of responding to conviction from God's Word Being “good ground” for spiritual truth How God uses believers to sow seed into the lives of others Living today with eternal impact in mind Key Takeaways Every action plants a seed, and every seed produces a harvest—no exceptions You can choose your sin, but you cannot choose your consequences Sowing to the Spirit happens through dependence on God's Word and the Holy Spirit Receiving and responding to truth is just as important as sharing it God uses ordinary conversations and moments to produce eternal fruit The harvest may take time, but it is always certain A life surrendered to God becomes both good soil and a faithful sower If you've been encouraged by this podcast, please take the time to give us a five-star rating and write a brief review. That would help tremendously in getting the word out and raising the visibility of the Thee Generation for others. Today's episode is a practical, no-hype guide to choosing a handgun that actually fits your life. Justin and I walk through the REAP framework (Reliability, Ergonomics, Accuracy, Portability), why “cool” guns can become support nightmares, and what realistic accuracy standards look like for regular people. We also dig into the 1911 question (what it's great at, and why it's usually a rough first handgun), the caliber/stopping-power debate, and why pistol red dots are quickly becoming the new default. If you've ever asked “What pistol should I buy?”—this one will save you money, frustration, and a lot of internet arguments.
Pastor Lucas Kirkpatrick
Text: Genesis 29:1-35 God's Purposeful Hand of Providence (Gen. 29:1-14) God's hand of providence was leading Jacob through every step and circumstance. We need to acknowledge God's hand of providence and thank Him for His blessings to us. God's Merciful Hand of Correction (Gen. 29:15-30) In His mercy, God allowed Jacob to reap the consequences of the sins he has sown. In His mercy, God seeks to humble and correct us in order that we might come to the end of ourselves and turn to Him in faith. God's Faithful Hand of Promise (Gen. 29:31-35) Leah was unloved by Jacob, but God's promise of a Redeemer would come through one of her children. We need to rejoice in God's steady faithfulness despite our difficult circumstances.
Pastor John discusses Galatians 6.
Welcome to Episode 287 of the Better with Running podcast. Your hosts, Chris Armstrong and Zacca Newman, kick things off with a deep dive into their own training blocks. Chris shares the details of a 64km week highlighted by a 6 x 1km intervals and a scenic 90-minute long run through the trails of Benalla. Meanwhile, Zacca is knocking on the door of the triple digits with a massive 99km week, featuring a disciplined 25-minute continuous threshold at 3:41/km and a solid 23km long run alongside training partners Al and Reece. The heart of the episode is an interview with Dan Casey, an Echuca-based farmer and a long-term Run2PB athlete. Dan is the ultimate "quiet achiever," having spent the last four years methodically chipping away at his PBs under Chris's guidance. Since 2022, he has managed to shave an incredible 30 minutes off his half marathon time and 8 minutes off his 10km, proving that consistency and sticking to the plan—especially keeping the easy runs easy—is the most effective formula for long-term progression.Dan also opens up about the "dark side" of the marathon, recounting a harrowing experience at the 2024 Sunshine Coast Marathon where he collapsed at the 35km mark from severe heatstroke. He describes the terrifying moment of waking up in a garden bed with strangers pouring water on him, a sobering story that underscores the importance of hydration and respecting the distance. Despite the setback, Dan remains focused on his 2026 goals. We wrap up with a round of "Quick Qs," where we learn Dan is a Garmin loyalist and a zooper dooper man. From farm life in Moama to chasing a sub-1:28 half marathon, Dan's story is a relatable testament to the "everyday athlete" spirit. As a reward for his hard work and for being such a great guest, we're sending Dan a fresh pair of Oat Socks to keep those feet comfortable during those early morning farm miles.Partner Offer: By using the code Run2pb20 through the end of March, supporters of the podcast can grab 20% off their next kit upgrade. Show Notes: Tobey Weintraub Collins pursued a master's degree in international relations at Georgetown, where she met her husband who joined the US Foreign Service. Tobey worked in project finance in Brazil and Venezuela, focusing on energy projects, and later worked for AES Corp in the US and Chile. She eventually moved back to the US and has been at Astris for the past 13 years, specializing in energy and infrastructure investment banking. Life in Venezuela Tobey describes Venezuela in 2000-2001 as relatively normal, with the US still influential, and her work focused on Central America and the Caribbean. She notes that Caracas was a pleasant place to live, though it was quieter compared to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Tobey reflects on the changes in Venezuela since then, expressing optimism for the future despite the current challenges. She shares a personal story about her son being born in Venezuela and the family's eventual move back to the US. Venezuela Under Chavez The conversation turns to Chavez's administration and the reforms he implemented. Tobey recalls the acquisition of the largest electricity distribution company in Venezuela by AES during her time in Venezuela. She acknowledges Chavez's initial leftist leanings but notes that he later became more radical. Tobey shares a story about a deal she worked on in Guatemala, helping to refinance a company's debt. She explains the due diligence process, the importance of understanding business risks, and the role of rating agencies in structuring deals. Working at AES Tobey talks about her time at AES and the types of deals she worked on. She joined AES during a critical period when the company narrowly avoided bankruptcy and needed to restructure its debt. She worked on restructuring debt facilities in Latin America, including in Brazil, and later became the CFO of AES's business in Chile. Tobey describes a notable transaction in Chile involving twin bonds to refinance transmission lines, which was innovative at the time. She highlights the importance of client relationships in the investment banking industry. Working in the Battery Storage Sector When asked about her current role at Astris and recent deals she has found exciting, Tobey explains that her focus has shifted more to the US and Canada, particularly in the battery storage sector. She describes working with a client to bid on a long-term contract for battery projects in Ontario, which they won. Tobey discusses the challenges and opportunities in the battery storage market, including the need for reliable electricity supply. She mentions the importance of data centers and the challenges they face in securing enough energy generation capacity. The Demand for Electricity in the US Tobey explains that electricity demand in the US is expected to grow, necessitating more generation capacity. She discusses the role of traditional sources like gas-fired power plants and new technologies like small modular reactors and geothermal energy. Tobey highlights the importance of transmission lines and energy storage solutions to address the demand. She notes the need for investment and innovation to meet the growing demand for electricity. A Love of Latin American Cuisine Tobey praises the food in Mexico City, Lima, and Brazil, highlighting the regional variations and delicious dishes. She shares her love for cooking and her hobby of trying new cuisines. Tobey recounts recent travel experiences, including a trip to Morocco and Japan, and the cultural and culinary highlights of these destinations. She emphasizes the importance of traveling to new places and having new experiences. Harvard Reflections Tobey credits her close friendships with women from Harvard as the most lasting gift from her time there. She mentions a professor, Stephan Haggard, who taught political economy and had a significant influence on her career. Tobey reflects on the intersection of business and politics in her work, particularly in Latin America. Surrender the words, surrender the struggle, and watch the doors you couldn't kick down finally swing open. You are back in your Father's house. You are back to your inheritance. The labor is over. The chemical industry is a cornerstone of modern American farming. It helps grow the food billions of people eat. It's also causing vast environmental damage. In this episode of REAP/SOW, produced in collaboration with WWNO's Sea Change podcast, you're going to hear the story of synthetic fertilizer, and how this powerful concoction of chemicals has radically reshaped how we farm and what we eat – and how it's poisoning communities, upending livelihoods, and choking the life out of a huge swath of the ocean. Reported by Garrett Hazelwood and Eric Schmid, hosted by WWNO's Carlyle Calhoun and FERN's Teresa Cotsirilos.
