Conferences can feel intimidating, expensive, and overwhelming, especially if networking doesn't come naturally to you. In this episode, Andrew shares what more than a decade of attending marine science and conservation conferences has taught him about making real connections, from picking the right event for your career stage to crafting an elevator pitch that actually works. Andrew walks through how to choose a conference that fits your specific field, why in-person events build stronger professional relationships than virtual ones, and why even seasoned scientists like Dr. David Ebert still get approached by people battling imposter syndrome. He also shares a personal story about coaching his daughter Taya through her first job fair elevator pitch, and how that same pitch helped her get remembered a year later. Whether you are a student heading to your first conference or a working professional trying to expand your network, this episode offers practical, low-pressure strategies for showing up, introducing yourself, and building the kind of relationships that shape a career in ocean science and conservation. Takeaways Research conferences that match your specific career focus before committing time and money Practice a 20 to 30 second elevator pitch until it comes out naturally In-person conferences build stronger professional relationships than virtual ones Volunteering for a conference planning committee increases visibility and connections Imposter syndrome affects everyone, including established researchers The International Marine Conservation Congress stands out for its inclusive, welcoming atmosphere Support Independent Podcasts: https://www.speakupforblue.com/patreon Need help with your ocean non-profit, company, or project? In this episode of Around the School Table (xuno.com.au/podcasts), host Steve Davis is joined by Stephanie Doyle, Founder of The Conference Planners (theconferenceplanners.com.au/), to explore how thoughtfully designed conferences can become powerful drivers of professional learning, leadership, and collaboration across Australian education. Drawing on her experience working with education networks, government systems, peak bodies, and school leaders, Stephanie shares why successful conferences begin with strategy rather than logistics. Instead of focusing solely on speakers and schedules, she explains how understanding delegate needs, defining clear objectives, and designing purposeful experiences lead to meaningful learning that continues long after the event concludes. Throughout the conversation, Stephanie explains why face-to-face professional learning remains invaluable despite the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and unlimited online information. While technology can provide quick answers, she believes genuine conversations, shared experiences, and collaborative problem-solving create insights that simply cannot be replicated online. As a result, conferences provide school leaders with dedicated time to reflect, connect with peers, and develop practical solutions for their own school communities. The discussion also explores the evolving role of educational leadership. Stephanie highlights how increasing compliance, wellbeing responsibilities, staffing challenges, and operational complexity have transformed the work of school leaders. Consequently, she explains why modern conferences must provide opportunities to build leadership capacity, encourage peer learning, and create environments where authentic conversations can flourish. In addition, Steve and Stephanie examine how conferences can better support both experienced and emerging leaders. They discuss the importance of intentional networking, structured collaboration, and creating welcoming experiences that help new leaders build meaningful professional relationships. Furthermore, Stephanie shares how exhibitors and education partners can achieve greater success by focusing on genuine engagement instead of transactional interactions. The episode also considers the importance of purposeful conference design, meaningful reflection, and measuring success beyond attendee satisfaction surveys. Stephanie explains why the most effective events are built around clear outcomes, trusted relationships, and practical implementation that benefits schools long after delegates return to their classrooms and leadership teams. Whether you are a classroom teacher, school leader, system leader, or education partner, this conversation offers valuable insights into designing conferences that inspire collaboration, strengthen leadership, and create lasting impact across Australian education. Host: Andy Shiles and Lalo Solorzano Guest(s): Margo Waldie and Javier Vera Published: July 16, 2026 Length: 35 minutes Presented by: Global Training Center Summary Warehousing is far more than a place to store products. It is a critical link in the supply chain that can either accelerate customer delivery or create costly bottlenecks. In this lively episode of Simply Trade, Andy Shiles and Lalo Solorzano welcome Margo and Javier Vera for a wide-ranging conversation about warehouse operations, technology, employee empowerment, contingency planning, and the value of strong industry relationships. The group explores what businesses should prioritize as trade policies, tariffs, customer expectations, and supply chain uncertainty continue to evolve. From predictive analytics and equipment readiness to security, sanitation, and faster order cycle times, the discussion highlights the operational decisions that can directly affect customer satisfaction. The guests also explain the mission behind the Cool Kids networking community and why making industry events more welcoming matters—especially for young professionals and people attending their first conference. They share upcoming opportunities to connect at major intermodal, maritime, breakbulk, and supply chain events. Along the way, the conversation delivers practical lessons, memorable stories, and plenty of humor about building relationships, mentoring the next generation, and finding your place within the trade and logistics community. Main Topic / Discussion This episode examines how warehouse operators can manage uncertainty while meeting growing customer expectations for faster delivery, better visibility, lower costs, and greater flexibility. The conversation also explores how professional associations, conferences, mentoring, and inclusive networking communities can help supply chain professionals strengthen their knowledge and build valuable industry relationships. Building Stronger Warehouse Operations Successful warehouse operations require more than additional space. Companies must invest in technology, employees, equipment, partnerships, security, and contingency planning. The guests discuss the importance of predictive analytics, reliable material-handling equipment, backup operating procedures, efficient pick-and-pack processes, and empowering frontline employees to solve operational challenges. Creating More Inclusive Industry Networks Javier and Margo explain that the Cool Kids community was created to make networking more accessible—not more exclusive. Its mission is to welcome newcomers, connect professionals with shared values, and help emerging supply chain talent build confidence and meaningful relationships. Making Conferences More Valuable The episode highlights networking opportunities connected with IANA, Breakbulk, the Virginia Maritime Association, and TPM. The guests encourage attendees to step outside their comfort zones, introduce themselves, and use conferences to build relationships across the trade, logistics, maritime, and warehousing sectors. Key Takeaways • Invest in technology, people, equipment, and partnerships rather than relying on a single operational solution. • Faster warehouse cycle times can improve customer satisfaction and reduce the likelihood of returns. • Predictive analytics should empower employees and improve decision-making—not simply replace people. • Contingency planning helps warehouses continue operating when equipment, internet access, or other critical systems fail. • Frontline employees often understand operational problems best and should be empowered to recommend improvements. • Safety, security, and sanitation are essential parts of a high-performing warehouse operation. • Conferences and professional associations can help newcomers find mentors, build confidence, and expand their networks. • Strong relationships across trade, logistics, maritime, and supply chain communities create opportunities for collaboration. ACTS 3:13-26 - CHRIST WOULD SUFFER - BRIAN SUMNER - 2026ACTS 3:13 "The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.17 “Yet now, brethren, I know that you did it in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. 23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.' 24 Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' 26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY. Since coming to faith in 2004 doors continued opening locally and internationally to do more and more ministry with a focus on Evangelism, Outreach Missions, Marriage, Counsel, Schools, Festivals, Conferences and the like.  Everything about this ministry is made possible because of people personally partnering through the non profit. God Bless and thank you. †Support the showSUPPORT THE SHOW

What happens when students step away from the constant noise of social media, academic pressure, and cultural confusion? In this episode, Kasey Leander sits down with Dustin Jizmejian, Senior Director of Conferences and Events at Summit Ministries, to explore why immersive Christian experiences can have a lasting impact on a student's faith, worldview, and purpose. Today's students are more connected than ever, yet many feel increasingly anxious, isolated, and uncertain about what is true. Dustin explains why intentionally stepping away from everyday distractions creates space for meaningful conversations, authentic community, and a deeper encounter with God. Together, they discuss how Scripture shapes our understanding of retreat, discipleship, and spiritual formation—and why Christian conferences remain one of the most effective ways to equip young people with a biblical worldview. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, youth pastor, educator, or student, this conversation will encourage you to think differently about the power of intentional discipleship and investing in the next generation. In this episode: Why are students more anxious, isolated, and distracted than ever How constant digital noise shapes identity and faith Why stepping away creates room for spiritual growth What the Bible teaches about retreat, community, and discipleship How Summit's student conferences help young people build a resilient biblical worldview Stories of students whose lives were transformed through Summit Why lasting faith is often formed through an immersive Christian community How parents and churches can better prepare students for today's culture For more than 60 years, Summit Ministries has equipped thousands of students to think critically, evaluate competing worldviews, and embrace God's truth with confidence. Through two-week summer conferences and other immersive programs, students engage with leading Christian scholars, build lifelong friendships, ask honest questions, and develop a faith that can withstand today's cultural challenges. Ancient Egypt isn't just something you read about in a school history book or see in an old Elizabeth Taylor movie. It was a real, thriving civilization filled with people who lived, loved, worked, governed, worshipped, and left behind evidence that they had been there. Millennia later, we still know their stories because someone took the time to document, preserve, and pass them on.Standing in a papyrus gallery in modern-day Egypt and learning how ancient writings survived for thousands of years made me think differently about personal branding. Your personal brand helps preserve your ideas, your work, and the story of the impact you made. It also gives you the opportunity to shape that story for yourself instead of leaving someone else to define what you are known for.In Part 2 of my Paula Out of Africa series, I'm taking you through the Egyptian leg of my trip, from Cairo and the Nile to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the pyramids, and the Sphinx. I'm sharing why joy belongs in your personal brand, how your vision can expand before anyone else sees it, and why documenting your expertise matters if you want your work to continue speaking when you are no longer in the room.If you have ever assumed your work will speak for itself, this episode makes the case for giving it a voice.2:03 – How Paula's arrival in Egypt was completely different from when she first set foot in Kenya5:02 – Real joy as a brand asset and credibility as a reward for authentically expressing it7:24 – How a photo taken on a dock overlooking the Nile expanded Paula's vision for her brand8:40 – Highlights from the breathtaking Grand Egyptian Museum tour10:54 – The importance of owning your story and not letting others define your professional reputation12:54 – What ancient paper can teach you about showcasing and protecting your expertise (and legacy)15:31 – A valuable business reminder from vendors hustling outside the pyramids17:16 – Why building a stronger personal brand might start with leaving your calendar behindMentioned In Paula Out of Africa, Part 2: Egypt and What Your Personal Brand PreservesPaula Out of Africa, Part 1: Kenya, Wonder, and the Brand You're BecomingPaula's Cairo Photo AlbumNational Bar AssociationGrand Egyptian MuseumCurated Resources from PaulaSign up for Paula's Upcoming Events Learn More About Paula's Personal Branding Strategy Session OfferSubscribe to The Branding Room Only podcast on YouTubeCall to ActionFollow & Review: If you enjoyed this episode, leave a 5-star review on your favorite podcast platform! Want more ways to grow your personal brand? Most schools struggle to communicate effectively and keep their students engaged. Rise Vision provides an easy-to-use platform with digital signage, screen sharing, and emergency alerts to improve communication, teaching, and create a positive school culture. Most schools face challenges with communication, teaching, and safety, which impact their ability to create an engaging and positive learning environment. Poor Communication:Schools struggle to ensure students, staff, and parents stay informed about announcements, events, and opportunities. Traditional methods like printed posters or emails often go unnoticed, and inconsistent messaging across the district creates confusion.Underutilized Technology:Expensive interactive flat panels and other classroom tools are often used as basic displays, failing to deliver their promised value. Teachers lack intuitive, affordable tools to collaborate and engage students effectively.Safety Concerns:Many schools lack streamlined, reliable systems to send critical emergency alerts across buildings. Without fast, clear communication during incidents, schools risk confusion and delays in response.Limited Resources:Tight budgets and stretched IT teams make it difficult to adopt and maintain technology. Schools are forced to manage multiple disconnected tools for signage, collaboration, and alerts, increasing complexity and costs.Disengaged School Culture:Schools often miss opportunities to celebrate achievements, foster engagement, and build a sense of community among students and staff, leading to lower involvement in extracurricular activities and events. ACTS 3:1-12 - SILVER AND GOLD HAVE WE NOT - BRIAN SUMNER - 2026ACTS 3:1 "Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.Preaching in Solomon's Portico11 Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon's, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?"To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY.

On Thursday the 2nd of July 2026 Marv spoke with Ana for what was intended to be around five or six minutes for a segment of a Chronicles episode, but it lasted a little bit longer. He decided instead of portioning off a five to six minute piece of the conversation to include it as a segment of the episode, that he would put out the longer discussion as what will now be episode one of season eleven! In this bonus episode, host Marv catches up with podcast producer and coach Ana Xavier, prompted by a LinkedIn post about her plans to meet fellow podcasters during her stay in London. The conversation opens with a look back at Ana's recent episode on ten ways to repurpose podcast content with less effort — including her standout tip of re-using clips from guest appearances on other shows as content for your own. Ana explains why these "guest spot" moments often reveal a more personal, less rehearsed side of a host that resonates strongly with listeners. The conversation then shifts to community: Ana talks about her history organizing podcast meetups (in Dallas, and now London), why in-person podcast conferences are worth prioritizing despite the cost or effort, and how genuine, lasting collaborations — not just networking — come out of them. Both Ana and Martin swap stories from The Podcast Show and Podcast Movement, including the value of finding a small "buddy group" to lean on at big events, overcoming first-timer nerves, and managing social battery at multi-day conferences. Ana closes by plugging her own episode on maximizing conference attendance and boosting downloads beforehand.Key themes: repurposing podcast content, imposter syndrome/fear around first conferences, building community as an underrepresented voice in a male-dominated industry, and the real-world friendships that come from podcast events.

From starting as a volunteer in 2001 to becoming one of the driving forces behind firefighter development, Dana has spent years building firefighters, officers, and future leaders.Beyond his department, Dana founded the Cascade F.O.O.L.S. chapter in 2019, served four years as Chapter President, and now serves as Treasurer for F.O.O.L.S. International. His passion for the fire service, leadership, and training has made him a respected voice across the country. This conversation is going to be packed, so get your notebooks and pens ready! We'll be discussing what F.O.O.L.S. really stands for, why membership and getting involved matter, and why every firefighter should make it a priority to attend conferences and get outside of their own bubble. We'll also dive into the leadership epidemic of micromanagement, how to build leaders before you need them, why succession planning is often overlooked, and why so many organizations are focused on recruitment while neglecting retention. We'll also tackle how we may be unintentionally creating imposter syndrome in the academy, why hearing the same message from a different voice can completely change someone's perspective, how the Task–Tactic–Strategy model can help develop better officers, and why simply talking to people, sharing ideas, and learning from others can have such a profound impact on both your career and your department. If time allows, we'll also get into lessons Dana has learned from training hundreds of firefighters, leading live-fire instruction, developing cadets, and how his journey through F.O.O.L.S. changed the trajectory of both his career and his outlook on the fire service. As always, the live audience helps drive the discussion, and we gladly head down whatever rabbit hole their questions take us. Episode 361 made possible by our incredible sponsors:   Snap-Tite Hose   -  IdentiFire  -  Flame Decon

Long before you speak with an event organizer, your LinkedIn profile, website, bio, content, and digital presence are helping people decide whether you are someone they can trust with their audience.Too many aspiring speakers leave that process to chance. An outdated LinkedIn profile, a website that never mentions speaking, a vague bio, or a lack of clear positioning can create hesitation and uncertainty at the exact moment you want to inspire confidence. In Part Two of So You Want to Be a Speaker? on Branding Room Only, Paula T. Edgar breaks down how to build a personal brand that supports your speaking goals and helps you stand out. She explores the importance of positioning, clarity, and consistency, while walking through the essential speaker assets every professional should have, including LinkedIn, a website, speaker bios, one sheets, video, and thought leadership content.Whether you're pursuing your first speaking engagement or looking to expand your platform, this episode offers practical strategies to help decision-makers understand your value, remember your expertise, and feel confident bringing you to the stage.1:08 – The invisible audition you start giving as soon as someone hears your name2:39 – Three questions your positioning must answer (and why not doing this first will cost you)4:08 – The LinkedIn profile set-up that entices others to book you as a speaker5:49 – What to include on your website to make it effortless to refer and invite you6:23 – What your speaker bio needs to address for the event organizer and your audience7:00 – The one-page document you can create to serve as an easy referral tool7:31 – How to create and use video as a showcase (and why it matters more than you think)8:23 – The importance of consistency among your assets as a quiet trust-builder9:38 – How to create five pieces of content from a single speaking topic 11:08 – How to audit your assets, the key takeaway from this episode, and a preview of the next installment in the seriesMentioned In So You Want to Be a Speaker? Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Mondays Down Under, hosts Lee Salisbury, Shane Melrose, and Nick take listeners behind the scenes of awards season, conference travel, industry recognition, and the importance of networking within the swimming pool industry. From award ceremonies across Australia to upcoming conferences and trade shows, the conversation explores how professional development, industry engagement, and relationship building continue to shape successful pool businesses. Episode HighlightsAwards Season Across Australia and New ZealandLee shares her experience attending both the ACT and New South Wales industry awards ceremonies, celebrating outstanding achievements from pool builders, technicians, retailers, and service professionals. The hosts discuss the significance of industry recognition and the challenges many professionals face when considering self-nomination for awards. The Challenge of Self-NominationThe discussion explores why many highly qualified professionals hesitate to put themselves forward for awards, despite being deserving candidates. The hosts examine potential alternatives, including peer nominations, and discuss ways industry organizations might encourage greater participation from technicians, retailers, and service professionals. What Really Happens Behind the Judging ProcessLee offers insight into the award judging process, explaining how applications are reviewed, scored, and evaluated by multiple judges. The conversation highlights the extensive effort that goes into ensuring fairness and recognizing excellence across a wide range of industry categories. Recognizing Excellence in the Pool IndustrySeveral award winners and finalists are recognized throughout the episode, including discussions about the qualities that separate outstanding businesses and professionals from the rest of the field. The hosts emphasize the importance of technical expertise, customer service, mentorship, and industry leadership. The Value of Industry ConferencesThe conversation shifts to conference season, with discussions about supplier conferences, trade events, educational opportunities, and networking experiences. The hosts share stories from conferences held in destinations including New Zealand, Fiji, Vietnam, Thailand, Israel, and beyond. Why Networking MattersBeyond product training and education, the hosts explain how conferences create opportunities to build relationships, exchange ideas, learn from peers, and develop lifelong friendships within the industry. These connections often prove just as valuable as the formal educational sessions themselves. Looking Ahead to SplashWith the upcoming Splash Trade Show approaching, the hosts preview educational sessions, industry forums, awards presentations, networking events, and opportunities for listeners to connect with the Talking Pools team in person. Winter Recharge Before Summer ReturnsAs the southern hemisphere enters winter, the discussion concludes with a reminder about the importance of rest, recovery, and preparing for the next busy season. The hosts encourage business owners and staff alike to use the quieter months to recharge and invest in professional development. Key Takeaways Industry awards recognize far more than popularity—they reward professionalism, technical expertise, and dedication.  Many deserving professionals never enter awards due to reluctance around self-promotion.  Conferences provide education, networking, and valuable business-building opportunities.  Strong industry relationships often lead to better business outcomes and lifelong professional connections.  The quieter winter months offer an important opportunity to recharge before the demands of the next season arrive. Connect With Talking PoolsHave a topic suggestion or question for the Talking Pools Podcast Network? ACTS 2:1:17 - FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT - BRIAN SUMNER - 2026"When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. The Crowd's Response5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 7 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” 12 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”13 Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”Peter's Sermon14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,Your young men shall see visions,Your old men shall dream dreams.”To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY.

ACTS 1:12-26 - THE APOSTLES - BRIAN SUMNER - 2026"Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey. 13 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.Matthias Chosen15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said, 16 “Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus; 17 for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry.”18 (Now this man purchased a field with the [g]wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out. 19 And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, Akel Dama, that is, Field of Blood.)20 “For it is written in the Book of Psalms:‘Let his dwelling place be desolate,And let no one live in it';and,‘Let another take his office.'21 “Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”23 And they proposed two: Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed and said, “You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen 25 to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.” 26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles."To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY.
