JOHN 12:14-36 - LET HIM FOLLOW ME - BRIAN SUMNER - 2025JOHN 12:14-36 "Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion;Behold, your King is coming,Sitting on a donkey's colt.”16 His disciples did not understand these things at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.17 Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness. 18 For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this sign. 19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!”The Fruitful Grain of Wheat20 Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. 21 Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”22 Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus.23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much [a]grain. 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.Jesus Predicts His Death on the Cross27 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.”Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”29 Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, if I am [b]lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” 33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.34 The people answered Him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up'? Who is this Son of Man?”35 Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.”To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY. Notes Matthew 4:12-23 Isaiah 9:1-4 1 Corinthians 1:10-18 Summary In this episode of the Pulpit Fiction Podcast, hosts Robb McCoy and Eric Fistler delve into the Gospel reading from Matthew 4:12-23, which recounts the calling of the fishermen. They explore the significance of Jesus' call to Simon Peter and Andrew, as well as James and John, emphasizing the differences in the Gospel narratives. The discussion highlights the socio-political context of Galilee, where Jesus begins his ministry amid Roman oppression, and the implications of being 'fishers of men' as a call to advocate for justice rather than mere evangelism. The hosts also touch on the upcoming readings from Isaiah and 1 Corinthians, drawing connections between the texts and contemporary issues of division within the church and society. Takeaways Jesus's call to the fishermen is immediate and transformative. The Gospels present different perspectives on the same events. The arrest of John the Baptist serves as a catalyst for Jesus's ministry. Church divisions can distract from the core message of unity in Christ. The Kingdom of Heaven challenges existing power structures. In this groundbreaking episode, I sit down with John Grey, a law enforcement K9 handler who's doing the "impossible" - running a program with PUPPIES that are BOTH therapy dogs AND detection dogs (firearms/explosives).The traditional K9 world said this would never work:❌ "Puppies have too high a washout rate"❌ "Therapy dogs are low-drive couch potatoes"❌ "Labs can't detect anything"❌ "You can't do both - pick one"John's program is proving all of that WRONG.What We Cover:Why their puppy washout rate is LOWER than agencies buying adult dogsHow therapy work actually IMPROVES detection capabilityTraining while working (no pulling officers off the road)The massive PR and funding benefits agencies don't expectUsing rituals and signals to switch between therapy and detection modesWhy "crackhead" high-drive dogs are actually HARDER to work withHow obedience training makes detection dogs betterWorking in elementary through high schoolsAdding tracking to the mix (and the lessons learned)Why this ISN'T entrapment (they're NOT drug dogs)Real Results:✅ Lower washout rates than traditional programs✅ Enormous public support and funding✅ Dogs work effectively in both roles✅ Handlers train while maintaining regular SRO duties✅ Kids and community fully invested in the dogsJohn's agency is in Colorado, and they're working with organizations like Colorado Police K9 Association who now offer therapy dog certification. His company is Fundamentals First K9 Training and he's helping other agencies implement similar programs. This episode challenges EVERYTHING traditional K9 programs believe about drive, selection, training timelines, and what's "possible" with working dogs.Whether you're in law enforcement, education, or just love working dogs, this conversation will change how you think about K9 programs.

Key Topics: Discovering Bitcoin through a scam. Building a Bitcoin circular economy around an orphanage and school. The role of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange in Africa. The vision behind GorillaSats and Bitcoin mining in Uganda. Adopting Bitcoin East Africa conference. Summary: Brendan, a Bitcoiner from Uganda, shares his journey into the Bitcoin space, which began in 2016 after discovering it through a scam. This led him to research Bitcoin and eventually build a Bitcoin-only company called GorillaSats. He emphasizes the importance of community and sharing knowledge in the Bitcoin space. His personal journey is intertwined with the evolution of his community, starting with sharing Bitcoin knowledge with friends, then university students, and eventually leading to the creation of a Bitcoin circular economy. Brendan recounts winning a ticket to BTC Prague in 2023 after pitching his circular economy idea, which he crowdfunded through Geyser. At the conference, he met Haman and Fernando, who inspired him to realize that he was already building a circular economy. Upon returning to Uganda, he focused on finding a place to build this economy, which led him to an orphanage already accepting Bitcoin. The orphanage became the perfect place to start, addressing the needs of the children and the community. They implemented the "Fruits for Sats" project, providing daily fruits to the children and paying with Bitcoin using bolt cards. They also improved the orphanage's premises, providing beds, mattresses, and paying for healthcare and tuition fees, all funded by Bitcoin donations. By the end of 2023, the project had received 1.4 BTC and significantly improved the lives of the children. However, they faced a setback when the owner of the school where the children attended decided to close it. Brendan and his team signed an agreement to use the school for two years and eventually bought it, planning to design a Bitcoin-focused curriculum and provide hands-on skills to the children. The orphanage and school are now fully Bitcoinized entities, with teachers being paid in Bitcoin. Brendan highlights the importance of addressing a community's problems with Bitcoin to facilitate its adoption. Brendan discusses the unique challenges faced by the community surrounding the orphanage, including a high ratio of children to adults, early marriages, and a lack of family planning. The orphanage was founded by a barren woman who wanted to give back and provide family love to orphaned children. The main causes of death in the community include poor health habits, AIDS, and drug abuse. Despite these challenges, the project has been successful in improving the health and well-being of the children. GorillaSats is a tourism company focused on East Africa, with a competitive advantage of saving clients money by accepting Bitcoin. Brendan explains that the company's name represents their belief in the tourism space in East Africa and their commitment to Bitcoin values. He sees SATs as the future layer of transaction in Africa. The company aims to remove the high transaction fees associated with traditional payment methods in the tourism industry. By accepting Bitcoin, GorillaSats saves clients and service providers money and enables instant payments. The company has also created a small merchant ecosystem in Uganda, where people can on-ramp and off-ramp via Lightning from GorillaSats. Brendan is piloting Bitcoin mining in Uganda, partnering with a local power generator who uses bio-waste and solar to generate electricity for a local community. The project aims to create a proof of concept for Bitcoin mining in the country, which has a lot of excess energy. GorillaSats also offers itineraries that combine tourism with visits to Bitcoin projects and energy sites. Looking ahead, Brendan will be at Adopting Bitcoin Cape Town in January and is organizing Adopting Bitcoin East Africa in June 2026 in Nairobi, aiming to connect and share knowledge among East African Bitcoin builders.

Josh Henderson is the CEO of Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland, Florida. His career path spans the for-profit attractions world, starting as a lifeguard and expanding through roles across water parks and major operators like Six Flags and Great Wolf Lodge, along with leadership in privately funded public parks. Today, he leads a nonprofit natural attraction designed to deliver a high-quality experience without a gate fee, supported by donations and mission-driven revenue. In this interview, Josh talks about being a student of the industry, community dictating the business model, and emerging natural attractions. Being a student of the industry “I think being a student of the industry is starting out in one particular sect and then continuing to move on, and try and learn as much about each discipline as I can, really served me well and helped me grow in my career.” Josh frames his growth as a willingness to expand beyond his original lane. Early on, he was convinced aquatics was his forever path, but as his interests evolved, he leaned into learning disciplines he once avoided, such as food and beverage. That mindset now shows up in how he spends time in outlets, looks for new revenue opportunities, and stays curious about parts of the business he doesn't claim to have mastered. He also shares how he learned by putting himself in rooms where he wasn't the expert: “going into the uncomfortable situations where you're not the smartest person in the room, and and being humble enough to accept that.” Conferences, peer conversations, and surrounding himself with specialists became his playbook for continuous learning, especially in fast-changing areas like marketing. Community dictating the business model “We've allowed the community to dictate part of our business model.” Bonnet Springs Park wasn't designed in a vacuum. The founders conducted focus groups and asked residents what they wanted most. One clear answer shaped a major revenue and experience driver: an event venue that could host hundreds, where people could choose their own caterer. That choice reflects a deeper clue about the park's role: it's meant to serve community needs, not just operator preferences. That same philosophy shows up operationally. Josh describes a difficult mindset shift from maximizing yield to creating shared opportunity, like bringing in authentic food trucks for festivals even when it hurts his margins: “when you're a community park and you're doing something for the betterment of the community, that means giving somebody else a chance to make a dollar as well.” In his view, the park succeeds when the community feels ownership, champions the mission, and participates in sustaining it. Emerging natural attractions “It barely existed when I got into it back in 2017.” Josh positions Bonnet Springs as part of a growing sector that blends nature, placemaking, and attractions-grade operations. He calls it something you almost have to see to understand: a free park that aims to deliver “a paid level experience for free,” with immaculate restrooms, interactive exhibits, and accessibility features like a free internal tram system so guests with mobility challenges can fully enjoy the property. He also links this sector's growth to professionalization: daily inspections, strong documentation, and applying paid-attraction standards to a free environment because attendance and wear-and-tear are so intense. The opportunity, he suggests, is for leaders to think of the attractions world as an umbrella where “good business is good business,” and where creating “family experiences” can look different than building roller coasters while still delivering the emotional outcomes the industry is known for. Josh shared that people can learn more at BonnetSpringsPark.com. He can also be found on LinkedIn or by email at josh@bonnetspringspark.com. Most online business owners have a complicated relationship with conferences. Some leave feeling energized and full of new ideas. Others leave wondering if they just paid a lot of money for bad coffee and small talk.In this episode of the Opportunity Podcast, Greg breaks down when conferences are actually worth your time and when they're not. He starts by outlining the difference between attending as a practitioner versus a vendor. Practitioners tend to gain the most from learning new strategies, seeing how others operate, and uncovering ideas that can indirectly unlock new revenue. Vendors have a tougher time finding success. Without a clear plan to justify the investment and a proven offer, sponsorship can be expensive and risky. Greg explains why aggressive selling almost always backfires and why trust, education, and long-term relationship building are what actually drive results. Greg also shares practical advice on how to make conferences work without massive budgets. Most importantly, he reveals where the real value of conferences shows up, not in the talks and workshops, but during dinners, drinks, and informal conversations. If you want a clear, honest take on how to approach conferences and actually make them work for your business, this episode is worth a listen. Topics Discussed in this episode: Assessing the value of conferences for sellers vs vendors (01:25) The real cost and risk of sponsoring conferences (03:54) Getting the best ROI as an event sponsor (09:00) Where the real business happens at conferences (12:44) Final verdict: Are conferences actually worth it? Reflection gets skipped over in a culture that rewards speed, productivity, and visible wins. Most people want to jump straight to the next goal list without pausing to tell the truth about what they actually lived through. But reflection isn't some soft year-end ritual. It's a leadership skill and a requirement for building a strong personal brand. We live in a culture that often rewards movement, not meaning. Speed, productivity, and visible wins are celebrated, while reflection is frequently skipped. But reflection isn't a soft reset or a year-end ritual—it's a leadership skill and a critical foundation for building a personal brand that lasts. In this solo episode of Branding Room Only, Paula reflects on more than a decade of guiding intention and goal-setting work. She explores why moving faster isn't the same as moving intentionally, how clarity comes from honesty, and why alignment—not busyness—is what actually sustains growth. The episode surfaces the reflection questions that lead to real breakthroughs and the themes that show up year after year: rest as strategy, asking for help, letting go, and redefining success on your own terms.0:35 – Why reflection changes the quality of every decision that follows2:04 – Examples of how the power of intention quietly shapes alignment4:39 – How words of the year serve as a clarifying anchor6:31 – How vision boards are often misunderstood8:54 – What happens when rest is treated as a requirement, not a reward10:06 – Why doing everything alone isn't a strength10:57 – The freedom of letting go of tolerations that no longer fit11:57 – How reflection dismantles comparison without diminishing ambition12:48 – Reflective questions asked in these yearly sessions14:31 – What results can look like after going through this reflection16:01 – Why naming what matters to you protects your brand from autopilotMentioned In What Ten Years of Guiding Reflection and Goal-Setting With Others Has Taught Me2026 Annual Intention and Goal Setting WebinarPersonal Branding Strategy SessionsIf you enjoyed this episode, leave a 5-star review on your favorite podcast platform! In this special bonus segment, Race Forward closes out 2025 with a powerful message of urgency narrated by Leslie Grant-Spann, Senior Director of Conferences and Convenings. Drawing on decades of movement-building work, this message reflects on how racial inequities are embedded in our institutions—and why transformational change requires action now. From partnering with communities of color to reshaping local government from the inside, Race Forward's work is grounded in building lasting systems, relationships, and accountability. As we look ahead, this message affirms a clear truth: when communities most impacted have real power in decision-making, racial justice becomes not just possible, but inevitable.
Stijn Schmitz welcomes back John Feneck to the show. John is CEO Feneck Consulting Group. They discuss the current state of precious metals markets, focusing on the remarkable performance of gold and silver in 2023. Gold has risen over 68% year-to-date, while silver has surged 125%, creating significant excitement in the sector. Feneck attributes the rally to weakening US labor market data and potential shifts in Federal Reserve policy. He notes growing interest from financial advisors and investors in precious metals equities, with his own business seeing a 300% increase in inbound inquiries since September 2022. Despite the impressive gains, the precious metals sector remains incredibly small, representing less than 1% of the overall market. The discussion highlights promising investment opportunities in mining and critical mineral sectors. He also emphasizes the importance of quality management, long-term industry experience, and strategic project locations when evaluating potential investments. Beyond traditional gold and silver, Feneck is bullish on critical minerals like tungsten, citing companies such as Guardian Metals as potential future performers. His investment approach prioritizes flexibility, with current positions including a 16-17% allocation to silver and strategic investments in junior mining and exploration companies. Feneck’s investment philosophy centers on thorough research, attending conferences, maintaining consistent communication with company leadership, and employing a disciplined approach to buying and selling based on technical indicators like RSI and fundamental company developments. Morgan Chase Funds, where he ranked #1 in gross and net sales once at Merrill Lynch and three times at J.P. Morgan (among 40 peers).Since 2017 he has contributed articles to Kitco—becoming a regular contributor in 2021—and has appeared as a featured guest. He's delivered over 250 client seminars and webinars, spoken at 12 global commodities events, and in 2017 joined Sprott's precious metals portfolio-management team. There he developed a proprietary methodology combining technical analysis with direct insights from company management, advocating a “go anywhere” strategy and a diversified portfolio of 25–50 resource stocks to navigate the sector's volatility. In September 2019 he founded Feneck Consulting Group, helping small- and mid-cap metals and mining companies raise brand awareness and advising high-net-worth advisors on market opportunities and risks. JOHN 12:1-13 - WALKING WITH JESUS - BRIAN SUMNER - 2025JOHN 12:1 "Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.7 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. 8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.”The Plot to Kill Lazarus9 Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. 10 But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, 11 because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus. The Triumphal Entry12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:“Hosanna!‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'The King of Israel!”To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY. Chris Klieman retired from coaching football Wednesday after 7 years at Kansas State, a whole bunch of wins and a Big 12 title. So why was this all so somber and strange? Even AD Gene Taylor came in after Klieman spoke (and took no questions) and started talking about retirement himself. Reports everywhere confirm that Collin Klein is the next head coach but Taylor said he hasn't talked to the former KSU star and doesn't have his phone number. Stan Weber will try to clear this up for us. Then, it's all Chiefs and Texans and the AFC playoff picture with Stan. Our Final Final is the opposite of "Play Ball!"
