Feeling really fatigued, low on energy, cold and sore on top of all of the other PCOS symptoms you're experiencing? Sometimes these symptoms could be to do with your thyroid or other health complications but one of the most common causes I see of this in PCOS is iron levels!Iron is one of the minerals in the body you've definitely heard of, especially if you've ever felt really tired, needing iron is one of the first suggestions that'll fly your way. Our iron levels have a major impact on how we feel - if they're too low or too high we can feel absolutely exhausted, short of breath, lethargic and sore in our joints. Because of this, a lot of women end up supplementing without knowing if they need to. Sure, many women are low in iron for a variety of reasons but unfortunately iron is one of those nutrients we can't mess with. Having not enough or too much iron can cause absolute havoc in our bodies and worryingly, mess with our PCOS. If you're experiencing some of the symptoms above, you may automatically think your iron is low but in fact it could be the opposite. A lot of us with PCOS are insulin resistant (about 80% approximately) and so the general recommendation you'll see to help reverse and manage that insulin resistance is to lower your carbohydrate intake and focus on increasing protein and fats. But maybe you're doing that but your doctor has run some bloods, only to find you have some high cholesterol markers. They say, "look, your cholesterol is high, you need to adopt a lower fat diet in order to bring these markers down".You're thinking "oh my gosh, what am I going to eat!?". PCOS is hard enough to deal with as it is, and now you've got extremely conflicting information about what you should be eating. Does that sound like you? It's something I hear from so many of the women that I work with in The PCOS Protocol - they come back to me after chatting with their doctor and think that they don't know what they can even eat anymore apart from protein and they panic. On average, women with PCOS have higher triglycerides, LDL and lower HDL than women without PCOS, so it's not surprising to me that I have a number of women coming to me with this concern.That's why for this week's episode of The PCOS Nutritionist Podcast, I've brought on the amazing Dr. Simon Thornley, an epidemiologist and public health medicine specialist, whose work focuses on improving dietary treatment for diabetes and uncovering the health effects of excess sugar intake. It is also much faster that way. Turn your existing content (your book) into a digital course This has an even quicker turn around time than producing a book This requires more online technical support You will need to update the look and/or content from time to time It has a higher price point if it is a course with video, audio, transcripts or worksheets, etcYou have a lot of flexibility and room for creativity in terms of what is included in the course. You can even have live components such as Q&A or 1-1 follow up sessions as a premium optionIt will work better if you already have a website and online platform already Collaboration with other colleagues and produce an online summit, conference, masterclass/series, support group, mastermind, circles, etc. These collaborations can be live or recordedYou have a lot of flexibility of "What" and "How" and who you want to work withYou don’t have to do all parts, it is about leveraging your community and people you like to work with and learn from each together These events can be evergreen depends on the topics or they can be recurring events There are more options of course, but it is the mindset about leveraging your own knowledge, skills and experience and diversify the range of product that you can share with others online and offline, more importantly, they can be your long term passive income streams.
