Why is my neighbor's dog so good on a leash... he's half the age of my dog?! This is a trap! And you should avoid getting caught in it as much as you can! Falling into the comparison trap with our dogs usually just brings about negative feelings and no real help for our dogs. In this episode, I break down a few reasons why you should NOT compare your dog to other dogs. Reason #1- You Don't Know That Dog Whenever you look at a dog and how they behave, you might be making some assumptions that are completely untrue. You typically don't know if that dog is a Hollywood-dog-star with years of dedicated training experience, for example. You also likely don't know how that dog behaves in all situations. While you might see a dog that's good on leash out on a walk, you don't know if that dog tears up couches when left alone. Making snap judgments about a dog in comparison to your own isn't fair because you don't truly know that other dog's background. You don't know the experiences the dog and human counterparts have had! Any comparison is truthfully an apples to oranges type comparison because every dog is SO different and every situation is unique. Reason #2- You're Only Seeing a Moment in Time If you make a comparison about your dog to another, you're like only doing that based on a few snap moments or situations. This is even more so true in the world of social media... I can almost guarantee you that the pup with 50k followers on Instagram has just as many problem behaviors as you're dealing with for your dog. Instagram dog accounts are polished and perfected moments that don't reflect reality. If you let that become your benchmark to what your dog should be aspiring to... you're bound for disappointment. Again, you might see a dog that sits well for pictures on their Instagram posts but is an absolute maniac while on a leash. So don't be fooled by Instagram dogs! The reality likely isn't what they're willing to actually show you ;) Reason #3- You Should Compare Your Dog to Their "Past Self" In my opinion, the only comparison you should make about your dog's behavior is to their previous "self". Instead of looking at how good your neighbor's dog is at not jumping, look at how much your dog has progressed instead! If you were to make a record of your dog's skill level with a specific behavior every day, you would likely see HUGE levels of growth over time. It's so much more important to focus on your dog's progress over time than their "skill level" in comparison to other dogs! By the way, you can track your dog's behavior progress in the Pupford App! As a mentor and teacher who works with people that are spiritually curious, spiritually seeking or are doing deep personal & spiritual transformation work, I hear all kinds of comments like: “I'm a recovering Catholic” or “I haven't prayed in 10 years” or “the word ‘God' makes me cringe”, or “I don't know what I even believe anymore”. When we dive deeper into their experiences and stories behind those comments, one of the common things and themes that I discover is that for so many people “God” or a dogmatic approach to “God” by others, was either crammed down their throats as kids, or used as a threat, weapon or judgmental source against them. In some cases, people were even taught that they didn't “deserve” God's Love or that they had to somehow figure out how to “earn” it or contort themselves to be “worthy” of it. What a racket! The adults, parents, priests/pastors, congregations, church, whoever/whatever if they're not careful can totally ruin “God” for people. Let me say this louder for the people in the back, God's love is not something we have to earn. We're born both deserving and worthy of it and yet somewhere along the way in our journey of life we can lose sight of that. Instead we start to believe the BS that we have to be “good enough” for God to even consider us lovable. Today on The Karen Kenney Show, we're talking about how sometimes our connection to the Divine gets muddled as we move through life. Often this is because we take on what others are saying as the “gospel truth” - instead of cultivating, exploring and experiencing our own personal relationship with the God of our own understanding for ourselves. The reality is God/Source/Divine/Love/Spirit/Whatever You Call It is here for all of us. Standing always at the ready for us to come home to the loving truth. The trick is to step through that open waiting door and not let others ruin the experience of that unconditional and unwavering Love for us. To Robin, being an athlete means having a body that is moved with intention and is tested from time to time. That's it! You do not need to be perfect or elite to get started. Once you can find an activity that you enjoy, the fire you get from that feeling will continue to motivate you.  Being able to accomplish something that you never thought you would be able to do can give you joy that affects more than just your fitness but really impacts your whole life. You just have to be willing to show up at the start line. You Don't Need to Be Perfect, You Just Need to Show Up When you gain the confidence to put yourself out there and participate in an experience, you can still feel your ‘superhero' moment even if you don't do it perfectly. While your preferences of which activities you engage with may shift throughout the different seasons in your life, the positive benefits you can get from pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can be life-changing.  By redefining the rewards and benefits that come from taking on challenges, you can gain the confidence to overcome life's obstacles and explore your athletic potential at any age. When Doctors Kutner and Cole go to a magic show, they witness the magician fail at one of his tricks and bleed from the mouth. Kutner admits him to the hospital and tries to get House to take the case. But House, clearly inspired by an episode of Survivor, issues his candidates a new challenge: obtain Dr. Cuddy's thong. The winner will be safe from elimination and will be allowed to nominate two of the other doctors for the upcoming cut. Will it stop everyone from noticing this week's medical mystery? Justin attempts to determine the premise of House and tries to figure out why HR never reprimands the title character. He and Erik nominate Dr. House as the Third Doctor What. They also have a hard time remembering names for once. Justin is surprised to see Olivia Wilde on the show. Erik names Jon Favreau as the next Richard Donner. The Talented Mr. Ripley gets heaped with praise. Justin reveals his love of close-up magic and his aversion to scenes of surgery. A digression about The Rolling Stones breaks out and, occasionally, the pair talks about House.

The Gathering of the Juggalos is the music festival centered around the rap duo Insane Clown Posse. Their songs are hyper-violent and profane; their stage show features grotesque clown makeup and blasting the audience with their favorite drink, Faygo soda; and their fandom has even been designated by the FBI as a loosely organized gang. When you're just starting out your business, one of the things you dream about is getting followers and growing your audience. Success doesn't come from having a bunch of followers that just look at your posts and don't buy anything, it comes from having an engaged audience and from having the right audience and not just any audience.   When We are For Anyone, We're for No One   I want to do all the things all the time. It comes from being a creative person, and I'm sure if you're reading this you sometimes feel the same way! But this is a trap we can fall into that spreads us too thin to really make the impact that we want. We need to concentrate on what makes us unique and experts at what we do. Think about what drove you to start your subscription box in the first place, what it's all about. That's what people are showing up for, and the more engaged you can make the audience that you have, the more that audience will be worth to your business.   Develop your Audience into the Right Audience   Be Known for Something: What are you the expert at? What makes you happy? Show Up: Get in front of your audience with training and Live sessions. Serve Before You Sell: What value are you providing to your audience? Know what that is first. You Don't Have to be Extreme; you Just Need to be Consistent: Don't try to do all the things! Pick a few that you are good at and can be consistent with. Love on Your People!
