Luke 17:30-37 - Don't Look Back, Look Up!

32 Remember Lot's wife. 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will loseit, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.  Luke17:30-36 describes what will occur when Jesus Christ returns in judgment todefeat His enemies and establish His kingdom on earth (Rev. 19:11-20:6).Believers in every age of the church can take warning from these verses, butthey apply in a special way to Israel at the end of the age (see Matt.24:29-44). When Jesus comes for His church and takes it to heaven, it willhappen "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye" (1 Cor.15:52). Nobody taking part in the rapture of the church need worry about beingon a housetop or in a field and wanting to get something out of the house! However, when the Lord returns to the earth, His coming will first be precededby a "sign" in heaven (Matt. 24:30-31), and some people might try tohurry home to rescue something. "Remember Lot's wife!" Theverb taken in Luke 17:34-36 does not mean "taken to heaven" but"taken away in judgment" (Matt. 24:36-41). The person"left" is a believer who enters into the kingdom. Noah and his familywere "left" to enjoy a new beginning, while the whole population ofthe earth was "taken" in the Flood. In spite of their sins, Lot andhis daughters were "left" while the people in Sodom and Gomorrah were"taken" when the fire and brimstone destroyed the cities. Thefact that it is night in Luke 17:34 but day in Luke 17:35-36 indicates that thewhole world will be involved in the return of Jesus Christ in glory. "Behold,He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him" (Rev. 1:7). Threetimes the disciples had heard Jesus talk about people being "taken"and "left," so they asked Him a most logical question: "Where,Lord?" Our Lord's reply has the sound of a familiar proverb: "Justas the eagles [and vultures, Matt. 24:28] gather at a corpse, so the lost willbe gathered together for judgment." The description of the last battlein Revelation 19:17-21 certainly parallels the image of carrion-eating birdsgorging themselves on flesh. Inother words, when the Lord Jesus returns to judge His enemies, there will be aseparation of the saved and the lost. Whether it be day or night, whetherpeople are working or sleeping, the separation and judgment will come. Thosewho are saved will be left to enter the glorious kingdom, while those who arelost will be taken away in judgment. Eventhough the primary interpretation of these verses is for Israel in the endtimes, they do emphasize for the church the importance of being ready whenJesus returns. We must not be like Lot's wife whose heart was so in Sodom thatshe looked back in spite of the angels' warning (Gen. 19:17, 26). There aremany professed Christians today whose plans would be interrupted if Jesusreturned! (note 1 Thes. 5:1-11) Our Lord's warning in Luke 17:33 findsparallels in Matthew 10:39; Luke 9:24; and John 12:25, and is a fundamentalprinciple of the Christian life. The only way to save your life is to lose itfor the sake of Christ and the Gospel. Jesuspictured civilization as a "rotting corpse" that would one day beripe for judgment. The discerning believer sees evidence of this on every handand realizes that the "days of Noah" and the "days of Lot"are soon on us. Our Lord can return for His church at any time, so we are notlooking for signs; but we do know that "coming events cast their shadowsbefore." As we see many of these things begin to come to pass (Luke21:28), we know that His return is nearing. Arewe looking for His return, and do we really want to see Him come? Remember, Lot'swife, and don't look back but be looking up! Godbless.

She's also the author of Merchants of Light, the Consciousness That Is Changing The World, as well as The Miracle Of Death There's Nothing But Life. Today we will discuss the God outside of us. What we observed. The Nag Hammadi texts describe a Jesus that did not want us to follow him, but to become himThe monks at Nag Hammadi were visited by representatives from the church and  were told to destroy these manuscriptsAccording to these texts, we have the mental capacity to connect with the divine from within The gospels do not show the true intent of Jesus, which was to remind us of who we areWe all have the ability to achieve Christ Consciousness or Cosmic Consciousness The church would never allow anyone openly to experience the vastness of who we areGnostics and Mystics were threatened with ex-communicationGnosis is when you experience that truth within you, that's it. You don't have to have validation for me outsideThe afterlife communication with her son Pisti, and how his consciousness is very much aliveWhen we go outside ourselves, we don't have that power within, so we want to control. The true stories always are for our evolution to help us grow and develop. The Merchants of Light are higher frequency beingsFor more info: www.kamlak.comMore episodes on www.closertovenus.com

https://youtu.be/OS9THk4Vh9w Matthew 16:13-20 What does it mean to bind and loose? 1. We bind and loose when we decide who Jesus is?V13-15This question right here is the most important question that anyone can ask in their life-Jesus comes to Peter- and says- what are people saying about me? Who do you say that I am?Now for many people- this question is not one that they ever answer- or should I say- they answer it without answering it by their choice to ignore who Jesus is-Now what interesting- is that these people around the region had an opinion of who Jesus was-John the Baptist? Elijah? Jeremiah? https://youtu.be/OS9THk4Vh9w Matthew 16:13-20 What does it mean to bind and loose? Elijah? Jeremiah? One of the prophets? And all of these thoughts about who Jesus was were centered around who he wasn'tAll of those mentioned were those who would announce the arrival of messiahJohn the Baptist preached repentance and returning to God- he taught baptism. All rights reserved. #TeranceMcKinny #TWrecks #MMA Terrence McKinney aka T. Wrecks sat down with Jason and Mikey to share his near-death story of substance abuse, redemption, and spiritual progress. Growing up, Terrence lived mostly with his Grandmother. His mother was trying to get her life together & gave him to her in hopes that she would raise him better than she was equipped to at the time. His father was never a part of his life. He was hyperactive and would get in lots of fights. One time his grandmother locked him in a basement for 24 hours. These types of events were traumatic and Terrence didn't deal with them until later. He started doing drugs and drinking heavily as a teenager to repress the trauma he was experiencing, and this quickly spiraled out of control. One night after taking a lot of mushrooms and other drugs, Terrence woke up in the hospital after being revived by doctors. He had no idea how he got there or what he did, but he knew that he didn't want to do drugs like that anymore. Turning his fighting into a career seemed like a natural progression for him at the time. Luckily he was able to find discipline in the sport, and this in turn made him more disciplined with how he was treating his body. If he treated his body poorly with drugs and drinking, he couldn't get where he needed to be professionally so this turned out to change his life for the better. He stopped drinking & using drugs altogether, and has since been focused on his mental and physical health. He realized that he needed to face his trauma & past head-on, so he could deal with it and move on in a healthy way in his life. Now he's finally done that and had to make some very mature decisions about what path he wanted to go down in life. Now, he's one of the UFC's rising stars, with a world-record-setting time of 7 seconds for one of his knockouts. He trains 3 times a day and hopes to continue his path of personal growth and maintain his health. This is Terrence McKinney in his own words, on Knockin' Doorz Down. I remember watching that. Did he retire after you just quit after that? SoHe came out there for like, 45 times in the first round. The babe, you and, of course, as the UFC fan MMA. I do want to get in that little bit later. But, you know, thank you for coming on here to share your story of, you know, drug addiction and substance abuse, man. I mean crazy that your heart stopped in two or three times was what turned your life around yesterday. If the Ricochet effects of all the things I do that. I did that time that affected my family, so it really was a game-changer for me. Yeah. I want to jump back in kind of know. I don't know much about kind of your upbringing in and and childhood was was drugs, pretty prevalent, where you grew up, you know, what was, what was life like for you family life? And IYou know, it's time. I didn't realize but I did the best I could do, you know, and I'm grateful what they did, you know, add live with my grandma are going up hills like 8 years old. So it hurt at the time, only getting to see my mom like one day at a time. And then then she got to leave the next day. But she made a pact with the ultimate sacrifice Plaza. First born and gave me straight to my grandma, so she can help change her life around by joining the Army, you know, I got beat up, man, but I needed a little hyper active kid always doing too much. You know, I'm very proud that me. Let's talk through it. I just need a smack. Stuff to do with me. I always figured out a way. So you living with your grandma and like you said, your mom was doing what she needed, but Dad. So, dad was present at all. Never man. And I think I smoked one and I was like 13. And some huge trouble was able to quit for a graduate and then like once I got that freedom town of chicken or a lot of advantages of it, you know, sure. And those lot of hurt that I've dealt with growing up, you know, but God help me heal from it, you know. Not being a see, my dad didn't hurt me. But what I had to realize that the face that problem that it did hurt me, and that was the only way to heal instead of denying it at the Dewey. Now think that I thought didn't hurt me like one time. I my grandma's locked in the basement for 24 hours, you know, like just things like that, you know, it's just cuz like its not cuzShe want to be evil is just what she experienced. Like, I can't get mad at them for cuz like, my mom grandma was in, like time to slavery time. So way, they just grew up with intense like punishment for bad behavior. You know, she was only doing what she was tossed, so I can never blame, you know, cuz that's what, that's, what kills me that they don't know the bigger picture. They don't know what their parents parents. Parents growing up way, what might not seem normal, to me was normal too. Now. That's what I was able to heal when pushed you for the better Rex Terrance McKinney coming up. But my key first we got to think 5150 LTM. I wish wagon ass out wherever we go. Yeah, there's a lot that people don't understand especially when you know what the lineage you come from in and so made that intergenerational trauma that, you know, people don't think that shit happened. 100 years ago, can continue to roll over in like your experience, isn't exact proof that that does happen and it and it does carry Ford, especially if we don't have emotional maturity around us and how it manifests cuz I know for me that's when I really started loving popping them drinks. Exactly man. What was was there? Any good Outlets? I know you did some wrestling. But you know, how did you do? How did you find a channel that because you didn't really start to have trouble, tell College like real serious trouble, my correct, but I always like fighting or get in trouble andWrestling really saved my life in high school. That's what I was going to ask you. If we had talked to Chuck Liddell. I'm like, what were you like as a kid, being the person you are or who you were in the UFC? And then you Terrance the Yoshi. Now, but I just picture you guys just beating everybody up in your kids. Still running my group, that's 11 kids that live in my grandma house. So costly, I'll get my ass beat over or like I'll have to share my clothes. So just really sucky man, like a lot of irritating thing, you know, that I have to deal with and all the sexual molested as a you. So I that's a lot of things I dealt with it, like, a lot of people don't know. But I know these stories like these is going to help people heal for the better. So they feel that like, they're not alone. So like, I think it is it a pleasant cuz now I get to help people all across the board and I'm grateful for that. Yeah. I know. I appreciate you saying. Because I like you just said, there's a lot of people who go through these things and kind of suffer in silence. Like, with me, when I first, you know, had anxiety. I thought I was having a heart attack. I didn't know what was wrong with me, but I also didn't want to look like a little bit, so I didn't tell anybody about it. But that's the whole point of what Jason and myself do, is we shed light to it? And let people know that they're not alone. You know what I mean? Like, you're not a little bitch. If you have anxiety, a lot of people having anxiety. We just talked about it. We've shed light on it. So I appreciate you chatting light on that. What were the circumstances of your light and 11 kids in the house, man, like did you get bullied? Because of that to like, what was it like going to school then? Yeah, I got bully cuz like I said, I was a little rough man and I'll try to fight anyone like beer with this never thing from the artist. Bob my uncle's like what's the worst? I can have already took them and I tried it. What kind of live by his model like they told me they said if you guys get in a fight don't start it, but you better finish it, you know, you better help. That's just how we roll. Do they call the they call them to Henry gang out there and Linesville Alabama man like that there, real early days of being a teenager growing up there in Alabama. It was different. Like, sometimes, when I make a mistake at school, I was in the past year where I got paddled in school, and then I have to go back home and give wolf pajamas so bad. Like I start being look angry stalker, you know, I didn't go through that and I told you about that. They're like, what the hell? Yeah, man. It was still around 4 S. Where did they hit you? Like? My dad said, he would get hit on the hands. With the rule. Is that all you got on the bus? That's a messed up shit. It's probably that probably made it pretty tough than to trust any adult. Cuz my grandma sign is so they could but some parents wouldn't if they gave you the option. Yeah, I don't know how if I was an educator, I could do that to a child. That was my just like it over here. Before. I I I don't think it'd be a problem. What time you was trying to trust any adult. I'm going to assume you probably didn't want to go to any adult with any sort of issues and open up at first, you know. it sounds like always like to keep to myself andlike you said, I was trying to be that tough guy like you deal with on my own but that's not the way to go. When you got to talk it out, find someone that you trust, you know, the more you talk about it the easier it gets. So what at what point in in college. What was that? Kind of the gateway drugs for you? I mean, I know you talked a little bit about high school age. Were you partying Indian High School, drinking any other stuff or is it just kind of I did not turn up until I wore my State title, but last night when I went to like one party and it was the worst. I think I was like spitting on myself. I peed on some people. I've only been there man, woke up and kissed a few times. And then like, I didn't turn off again till like, I went to college, but I was going like, Molly, everything like cocoa, Cocoa, Puffs, Smoke, a song in a bucket. I'm in college. There, you might as well just fuck it. Sister said I was Bob then get them puss or real baby. I guess you're used to text Greg. I know for me is a guy that went to college for way too long. I should be a doctor like dealing with a lot of those insecurities of the trauma and not understanding that. Do you think that that was kind of what it is wanting to fit in? Like you said, you don't want me places, you know, and that's why I didn't realize like I'll check the wrong thing. I need to chase to love my family, be a leader for them man. Cuz at the end of the day, I had to realize that these guys want to be like me they want to be around me and once I realized that it helped me change a lot. So what was the? Let's talk about the night of the that the change your life, man. I mean, I haven't watched your your fights, the majority of them. I would have never have guessed heart stopped and two to three times man in an Audi. What can you kind of take us to? That day, what that was like. And I mean I'm going to assume you are on a rager and just like let let's do it all. Yeah, I was drinking a little Kickback with the homies and they had little vial and I was like screw it, you know, Chucky and then like couple hours like talk like 20 minutes later. I took what I like shrooms and then like I went to get some more weed and then it start hitting me. When I was around. I'll go inside crazy man. Like I said, you know, like pee was to start looking crazy like their smile. I like what you do not know me and I'm trying to change the tower to keep turning into a freaking weird, some demons come out of nowhere. And do my old shoe so I start praying, you know, and I start speaking a whole nother language. Wow. Oh my. Oh, what the hell? Am I tripping? Dad. Now and I'll say, so I start painting my head control my thoughts like thinking. So I start playing in my head and then after second outside, and they're still right here, and I was like, fuk it. I said, I was like, I'm not afraid you guys just letting you guys to do to me and I shut my body down, bro, and I have to watch myself fall through a window and slow motion, start, spazzing out. So I got knocked out and I feel like all of reality melting in like a weird little circle and then the troops got crazy and crazy after that, and then I woke up in a hospital, the next day. Did they tell you how they brought you back? Was it like narc and they have to drill into the harder. I mean, I don't know. But I saw the cops. And I did some 007 stuff, some tuck and roll some Army cross snuck out, the hospital and MOB my way home. I don't know what I did, but I still have the cost of air for me. So for my hands were all slow. Now is all bloody officer. Shoot. What did I do? I thought I was dreaming, just sitting down tripping the whole time. So so is that the last day? Did you like that you ever used, or did you kind of continued a little bit? Or is it like my life is, got a change, was that the as they say, Rock Bottom, you know, come-to-jesus it changed, you know, but I still do, you know what? Cause she wasn't doing that, but I just knew I was going to do any drugs like that. Again. I just stopped experiment at that. Just stuck with the weed in the liquor, and then eventually end up quitting all of it. Once I started fighting, was there ever any point of of seeking any sort of treatment counseling or anything after that? Like I know there's some underlying issue or I got a deal. I went to counseling at Riverside and got the help that I needed was not processed. Like, I mean, let you know I hear for kind of your childhood story cuz I kind of can relate to some extent and and not really trusting adults or knowing adults. These are the people that bit with my ass pretty much was it a hard process for you to sit there and open up and start to trust someone before it to the outside edge. Isn't buying drugs, man. I didn't really see myself as a person to needed help because it wasn't like something I wasn't. My addicted was never hard for me to just be like I'm not going to do any of you but it was just the final open up, just realizing, I'm not the only one. Once I start hearing all these stories and I just finally stopped. Like, take me to buy is like, a grain of salt can actually take him serious, like hearing people out, taking these steps to Hill and ask me, treating it like homework and trying to get it done. And it's probably best decision. I ever made in here. And Other Stories. Did you do like group therapy sand GroupMe? I did, I have to humble myself and realize like this. I could be easily in a worse spot. Just like these people like we're all equal and that's what I had to realize in, and I just start coming. And I was able to become a better man from and I'm thankful to God, for insurance Hanson credible, man. Did you find any mentorship in those groups of people that maybe you kept in touch with the, for a long time or still, or no. When I just have to realize day and now I just keep them close, you know, I feel free to reach out when ever I'm struggling or whenever I need help because we areWe all need that right? People that we can trust what the treatment stuff. She would humble themselves cuz I know it's hard. When you just think they're better, make you not really want to go or take you seriously, but we're all sick there for a reason, you know, if they didn't. And I had to put my pride aside and realize that accept that they're not wrong, you know, so, you know, denial is a huge thing, you know, you having something preventing you from achieving. You know, it's like I don't remember puking but I guess I did or whatever else, like shit worse, man. You'd look on your bed and there's just vomit and piss everywhere. Like, how about you? Me and piss on me. Largest in all of the dangerous Behavior Amanda, you know, it's like when we were young and full of testosterone and we're like, you know, I don't want to be alpha male and of course we get whatever substance in us and it's like, alright, man. Well we want to go out and do you know bag of chick or whatever else it is and you wake up in a fucking strange place and you know, that shit is like now at my fucking scaring me man. I roll the dice a lot. A lot of dick roulette. I would call it. You know, I'm a little early too. I'm glad I'm going to share a story. I haven't told anybody let alone on the podcast. There was one time I was partying right? Hardcore, woke up with the chick next to me in bed right now, and I I pissed I didn't realize he was covered in mud. So, you know, what is there was beers around me. So I cracked open the beers just poured it all over the place. So I mean it looks a lot better thinking that I spilled beer all over the place around there. So you go to you're the first one to hear that well Terence, we know that you're pressed for time. You probably at the gym, getting ready to train, right? Sarah that I have always managed three times a day to chill, at least. That's that's bad ass, man. And I was born cuz you had a good fight, November someone in your corner, had covid, right? So I got you live. Still love them. So I want to get into it because I always love to get into the mind of a fighter, because I think it's so important for people to understand the mindset that you live with, because I think everyone should live with that fighter mentality. Can you take us through like a day, one of your days? What it's like. I'm so I wake up at 6 a.m. I'll go run and then I'll do strengthen can discontinue at 11 a.m. And then I'll hit my MMA practice at 7 p.m. What's in the day? Are you having still carry some other sources of income? Or are you making enough with the fighting right now that this is all you do? This is all I do. I got nicer Porsches with that. This tells me cover my rent. And so I can just focus on training is just a couple bills. I have to pay myself just like my phone. Not that much in the internet and a my food. So only like they like 500 a month. So everything is working out like it's supposed to and like I said, I'm honored to be here today. And did you grow up with the presence of face, or was that something you found maybe afterwards? Believe in God, man, but I'm not saying like going to church and everything like that superficial guy, but I feel like everyone searches you guys. Like, where the temple of God, you know, everyone should develop their own relationship to God, you know, that's just how I feel. My relationship is going to be different than someone else's. You know, I'm not that stupid guys can go to church but develop develop my feelings. How much what you need to know and he'll provide, you know, as long as you put the work in and I'm not saying it's just going to happen. Work must be put in but man with that tight budget. What kind of diet do you maintain? It just depends. I eat good every day. I'm not going to lie. But if I'm kind of ready to just check in vegetables 2 gallons a day right now and fish just no pasta, no bread stuff. I'm going to run his clothes when out my bad. I'm just really locked in now for the light weight class is what round 150 or 55? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. I've been weighed 150 by school cuz I love bread. Then I love by Terrance and under a way too much stress lately. I went to the doctor this morning. Hey, thanks for working with us, on the schedule, to, by the way. I had to get this appointment in. Do you feel stuck in your life right now? Are you wondering what is your life purpose or if you are on the right path? Sometimes we feel we are playing small or not on the "right track", and other times, we may feel we are going through life in motion, but not exactly present or becoming the best version of ourselves. If any of these describe your current state of mind or feeling, then this interview may be a great pick-me-up to energise you and give you some clarity that you need. I interviewed Terry Kerr a while back, but our conversation is timeless and I have no doubt the content applies to us many times in life. Teri Kerr is an ICF certified Executive Coach through Royal Roads University and a graduate of the Purpose Project™. She lives in Victoria BC with her husband Jeff, a revolving door of teenagers, her beloved golden mountain dog Indy, and a one-eyed cat named Tallie. You can connect with Teri via her website: https://unstuckduck.ca/ Feeling you may like give coaching a go? You can find out more about personal coaching with Sze Wing here. Achieving a goal or solving a problem is ONLY the by-product or “side-effects” of coaching. The magic is in your own discovery about yourself, a deeper awareness about your strengths & desires, and knowing what strategy actually works for you going forward in life. Interview Highlights: The idea of "Unstuck Duck" - helping women to get out of their corporate job into entrepreneurshipFrom Super Busy Mum to the journey of Surviving Cancer"Be More You" - why bringing more joy  and fulfilment into your life is so importantTrying to fit in or stepping into others' shoes may make us forget who we areWe don't need to go through life with a "elbows up" a power through approach - sometimes it works better for us if we can soften instead of hardening our exterior to approach our lifeBe aware when we start to go through life in motion, but not really present in it, we may lose touch with who we are or our spouse/partnerHow to cultivate a sense of awareness to become more conscious in our lifeWays to spot red flags when we are disconnected from our loved onesHow do you want to be remembered - write your own eulogyChanging Lane: Start with reflecting on how life is working out (or not) and then creating new habits and experiencesWe don't have a choice of what happens to us, but we have a choice of how we react to it and move forward through it.How do you want your next 30 years to look like?Playing Big - your greatness lies in the small day-to-day, moment-by-moment decisions. You have a choice in every moment, how you think, feel and act base on who you want to be now and in the future.Living on purpose is a muscle that needs to be trained and exercised regularly.Living life is like collecting data, one step at a time, to figure it all outRemember other people's opinion or expectation is just theirs, you need to do you and know what works for you instead of trying to please everyone. Why we need to be aware not to get too attached to our stories, or to be right. Video https://youtu.be/iQYcYTElQOk Transcript Sze Wing: Hi everyone today. I'm really excited to talk to my new friend - Terry Kerr and what's so special about today's interview is that we just met not long ago and she's actually living in Victoria, British Columbia in Canada. And it works out the time zone is actually pretty easy for us to connect. I'm so excited because you know, it's always lovely to talk to someone from far away from Australia and especially during COVID-19 these days we cannot travel. So this is really exciting for me to talk to someone not from my continent. So a little bit about Terry she's a coach, I think executive coach and empowerment strategies is more the accurate term. She's also an artist, hockey mom, cancer survivor , speaker and creative warrior. And I think many of us actually share similar interests or life goals in this community who are listening and watch...

We all have a spark that begins with imaginationThese two works came together to create a third from an idea that wouldn’t go away: Scattered Thoughts which is to be a digital book of five walks that circle the stations of the year with video images and poemsVery full circle for her: writing her own poetry and then interpreting itOverall: Celtic connectivity, life on earth, the thrill of life on earth based on The Celtic Tree Alphabet which consists of the 5 vowels and 15 consonants and fits on a handEach letter is linked to a tree (see following):Essentially, Scattered Thoughts uses the Tree Alphabet as a structure, and for each letter I have chosen a word, and have written a poem, using nature and the seasons, cycles of life and death within the poems, as well as the beauty to be found on Earth and the joy of being here.I have loosely tied myself to the trees rather than being too prescriptive.  I shall be releasing ’Scattered Thoughts’ one ‘digit’ at a time, starting with the thumb, with each being a ‘walk in the woods / with the trees’ … and each ’book’ being a video ...The five paintings:A - Ailm - Silver Fir: New Year’s Day (Birth)O - Onn - Gorse: Spring Equinox (Initiation)U - Ura - Heather: Summer Solstice (Consummation)E- Eadha - White Poplar/Aspen: Autumn Equinox (Repose)I - Idho - Yew: Winter Solstice (Death)NOTE: an image of each of these paintings will appear on Ruth’s website.Legacy21:20 to 29:53 - Observation & Awareness & Magic  Engage in an on-going relationship with Ruth  -  connect with newsletterAt this moment sees legacy unfolding: for more people to see the work and go out, open their eyes and see differently, appreciate life on earth as magic; keep hold of that even in the darkest hoursBreathing Space helped her write TwirlingTwirling (listen with appreciation) "Twirling around as sunlight and shadows play a game of hide and seek.I move; they move.  I am still; they still move.  Attracting my attention, showing me lines, textures, shapes and colours.  Fleeting and passing, these images freeze, to be replayed staccato like as a film in my memory.Aware of my continually shifting viewpoint , I look forward, step forward and look ahead.  Every step marking subtle changes.  Familiar and fresh, I ramble along well worn paths where light and dark sparkle and glint amongst the trees.A mesh of the tree trunks.  Those from ages past extend their branches to secure their space, whilst thin, coppiced trunks sway and chatter in the breeze.  Clashing and bending, creating an elongated grid which constantly shifts with the breeze. It is never silent in the woods - there’s always the sound of oneself, and the birds, and perhaps most surprising is when the trees clap, their upper branches swinging into a frenzy as the wind whips through.  There is rhythm and energy.  And complaints from the birds as they are forced to move!A groundswell of emotion - deep, primal.  Of being, belonging and of forever … changing.  A challenge to capture the moment, a glimpse, a feeling, an emotion.  To explore what is seen and unseen.   To acknowledge the healing found in nature, in colour and in truly seeing and being.  Alive."There is magic in the world and in your work! The Gift of Grasping the Relevance of God’s Program Eph 1:8-10 July 26, 2020 I. Introduction:A. The question that I received the most from people when COVID-19 first startedwas always asked with a bit of panic in their voice. This was the question: “Arewe in the end times, are we in the book of revelation?”1. My answer was always the same, this is not what we learned in the book ofrevelation, if it was it would be way worse, way more people would die andway more things would be going on!2. But I went on to say there are many things going on in the world that thescripture says are signs that the end is drawing near.B. I could not help but think what stability, what peace, what wisdom comes fromknowing God’s word and especially what He has done, is doing and what He isgoing to do in this world.1. Then during this season I came across Eph 1:8-10 and I realized deep withinmy heart and could not help but THANK God for the amazing GIFT Godhas given us when He gave us HIS WORD!2. Read Eph 1:8-103. My heart is burdened for how many Christians have all of this at theirfingertips and very seldom they open up this book, let alone read and studyit.a) In Hosea 4:6 God said “my people are being destroyed because of a lackof knowledgeb) Proverbs 19:2 says it is not good for a person to be without knowledgec) Proverbs 14:33 says “Wisdom rests in the heart of one who hasunderstanding!”4. Bottom line and this is true even for Christians, it is not good, actually youcould make decisions and react in a way that could destroy your life and others, and you can lack wisdom on how to live in days like today, if you donot know God’s word and what He is doing!C. But Eph 1:8-10 tells us that God not only made His purposes known to us but Heactually did it in a way that was full of wisdom and INSIGHT, a way that allowsus to see the true nature of things and the ability to grasp the relevance for us inthis present time!1. That is what it means when it says God did this in all wisdom and insight!2. Read v8b-9a• Let’s look at this a bit closerII. Eph 1:8-10A. Note something we learned just a few weeks ago in the middle of v9.1. Read 9b2. This will of God that He made known to us is according to the kindintention of His purposes, kind intention of his will!3. You all already know that the kind intention of God’s purposes and willmeans that God delighted to do this, He wanted to do this, He took greatpleasure in doing this, it is well pleasing to Him4. Simply it was well pleasing for God to build and fulfill all His purposesand will in Jesus!B. He goes on to explain this a bit fuller and clearer in verse 10a! Read1. By administration He is talking about how God manages His affairs, howHe will carry out His purposes and will!2. By suitable to the fullness of times He is talking about what God is going todo in the future, in the fullness of times, at the consummation of the ages, when the completion of what God has been pleased to plan, everything Godhas been doing from Gen 1:1 through Rev 22:21.C. Then He even explain this a bit fuller and clearer in verse 10b.1. Basically He is talking about the time when everything will be summed up inChrist.2. Another way to say that is that it will be a time when the main point ofeverything will be Jesus, everything can simply be summarized in Jesus, thatJesus is the expression of all that God will be doing at that time. 3. Everything in history and everything that is going on right now is simplymoving this whole world towards a time when everything will besummed up in Jesus, everything in the heavens and things on the earth!4. It will be the time when God fulfills through Jesus every prophecy in thisbook, Old and New Testament and all of His covenants He has revealedin His Word!a) At the heart of this is the covenant God made with David when Hepromised him that one from his family line would be a forever king, reigning forever over forever kingdomb) Remember what we learned in rev 19:19 “for the testimony of Jesus isthe spirit of prophecy!c) Simply Jesus is the heart of and fulfilment of prophecy!D. If you are familiar with your Bible you know this is where everything is moving.Just listen as I read just a few passages to reinforce this:1. Speaking to Abraham He says Gen 22:18,2. In the blessing of Judah, Jacob says this Gen 49:10 (shiloh basically meansthe one to whom it belongs) Reread 10c-d3. Dan 2:444. Dan 7:13-145. Isa 9:6-76. Listen to what the Angel told Mary when He announced to her that she, avirgin would have a child and just who this Child is! Read Lk 1:30-337. Rev 11:15-17• So how does all of thisIII.Apply to you and me?A. REMEMBER these verses start with the fact that God made all of this known tous with all wisdom and insight, or simply a way that allows us to see the truenature of things and the ability to grasp the relevance for us in thispresent time!1. Knowing God’s Word, knowing prophecy, knowing God’s plan that is wellpleasing to Him and brings Him delight should help us understand the true nature of what is going on today and recognize that ultimately it is not aboutflesh and blood but an invisible war with demonic forces behind the scene.Even deeper than that, like in the book of Job, God even uses Satan to carryout His purposes!2. Satan thinks he is winning as he divides people over viruses and over raceand over politics and morality but actually God is allowing him to do histhing so as to move us to a time when everything will be fulfilled in Jesus.3. Hard times in and with the world should not surprise anyone whoknows their Bible.4. All of this has to happen so man can learn experimentally that true lifecan only be found in Jesus and so things can move towards that time whenall of God’s purposes will be fulfilled in Jesus GOSPELB. Knowing this book shows us the end is near when we look at prophecy andcurrent events that are lining up with them1. Alignment of nations we see in Old Testament Prophecies is happening2. Catastrophic events happening in the world show us that the things to comein revelation are not just figurative language but can be realities3. Signs of the end of time Jesus spoke of in Matt 24 are happening4. And the character of people today is just like it says it will be in 2 Tim 3.C. But none of this should surprise us if we understand God’s WORD, PURPOSESand WILL. Read 1 Thess 5:1-11

FreudMind of Matter or MOM podcastYour mind, or perspective isn't reality. It’s a tool, a filter through which the internal and external world is strained. Getting more perspective is add new tools to your psychological tool kit, like a colorblind person getting color correcting glasses for the first timeWe will start the Mind Over Matter series (MOM) by outlining the fathers of psychology Jung, Nietzsche, Adler, and today we start with Freud.SectionsLevels of the psycheAnalogies for themWhat a Self defense mechanism is according to FreudThe 3 types of anxiety as defined by FreudWhat types of defense mechanisms there are in Freud's veiwAnd then my take on themTHE IDunconscious that seek pleasureBlind desire, detached, basic primal instincts, impulsive, satisfactoryIt is the Horse to the riderTHE EGO“self” taking account for the unconscious, mediating the balance being pain and pleasure, the body and the mind, and realityTHE SUPEREGO“the conscience of mind”Emerging around 5 or 6 years old this is the developed filter of real life regarding implementations of right and wrong.Split further into “the ideal self” and “consciousness”The concince contains ideals and morals the exist within society that prevent people from acting out based on their internal desiresThe ideal self contain images of how people ought to behave according to societal idealsSelf IDeal is a borrow term from Freud's predecessor Alfred Adler who we will doing a podcast on later. Adler say the selfideal as the ideal self. Makes sense right. The best person you could be. Or God in a christian viewID solitary vicious wild beastEGO collaborative wild beast like wolvesSUPEREGO based in familial, cultural, religious, social software.ID raw components of a computerEGO operating softwareSUPER EGO web browser and google's search engine algorithm.Society is the internet**Freud claimed we hold Self Defense mechanisms to protect a favorable or preferred view of ourselves. Not to be confused with the “ideal self within the SUPEREGO. Each part the ID EGO and SUPEREGO will conflict with each other from time to time. This is where self defence mechanism manifest, most commonly as anxietyFreud identified 3 types of anxiety .Reality Anxiety, Neurotic Anxiety, & Moral AnxietyReality Anxiety is the most basic and is of the EGO. Getting hurt. PainNeurotic Anxiety comes from an unconscious fear that the basic impulses of the id will take control of the person, leading to eventual punishment from expressing the ids desiresMoral anxiety comes from the superego. It appears in the form of a fear of violating values or moral codes, and appears as feelings like guilt or shame.Anxiety occurs and the you attempt to find a rational way of escaping it using defense mechanism. These are ways that the ego develops to help deal with the id and the superego. Defense mechanisms often appear unconsciously and tend to distort or falsify reality. When the distortion of reality occurs, there is a change in perception which allows for a lessening in anxiety resulting in a reduction of tension within one's experiences. Sigmund Freud noted a number of ego defenses1) Denial- believing that what is true is actually falseDating someone who sucks and you stay with them. You know they sucks but you turn a bling eye on it as defence mechanism from the anxiety of breaking up2) Displacement- taking out impulses on a less threatening targetUpset at work and you take it out on your romantic partner rather than facing and resolving the issue3) Intellectualization- avoiding unacceptable emotions by focusing on the intellectual aspectsAnalyzing aspect of your situation that are as far from the core of emotion. That could be think about the FACT that she cheated on you but not the fact that she was WILLING to because YOU fell short.4) Projection- attributing uncomfortable feelings to others VERY COMMONObviously this is the blame game. Its Mom’s fault, Its her faultCarl Jung Agreed “Projection is one the commonest psychic phenomena, Everything that is unconscious in ourselves we discover in our neighbour, we treat them accordingly” Archaic ManThis is huge. Verd often the things we dislike in ourselves we dislike in others. We are blind to see it in ourselves, we deny it.5) Rationalization- creating false but believable justificationsTied to intellectualization. I quit my job because my boss treated my poorly and not think that he was harsh on you because you were performing poorly6) Reaction Formation- taking the opposite belief because the true belief causes anxietyBURN IT TO THE GROUND. Fighting with my partner… so lets break up. Also phonemons like Stockholm syndrome“Little man syndrome” often think they are bigger than they are7) Regression- going back to a previous stage of developmentIn response to the anxiety of a promotion or added responsibility at work you choose to regress to another position or job below your current position to avoid that anxiety“Choosing” to be single because of the anxiety of a relationship8) Repression- pushing uncomfortable thoughts out of conscious awareness9) Suppression- consciously forcing unwanted thoughts out of our awarenessDenying a promotion because you deny your own abilityPeople who don't want to think about their loved ones dying.10) Sublimation- redirecting ‘wrong’ urges into socially acceptable actions. These defenses are not under our conscious control and our unconscious will use one or more to protect one's self from stressful situations. They are natural and normal and without these, neurosis develops such as anxiety states, phobias, obsessions, or hysteria. These are the good ones. Stress relievers and stress managers.Working out your anger ect ectProjection can be a useful tool for your meditation space. We should strive to be critical of what we dislike and project onto others, extract it from the physical world and reintegrate it into our mind into something closer to conscious awareness. This is hard. This can be damn near impossible if your still deep in neurosis. On the contrast if you are too deep into projection it is its own neurosis. You will constantly be looking for scapegoats to project on and mostly likely to be a loved one.I think we can all relate to thisUltimately you push them away. then what? Look within at what Jung calls “the shadow” or find another.Keep doing this and eventually you learn it's easier and more safer (from your shadow) to (get ready for this) its easier to project on to an entry group of people as your scapegoat.t the choice is simple. You're served an solution, your giving a nice white screen to project on.#collectivism #identitypolitics #intersectionality #reactionaryfeminism #blacklivesmatter #bluelivesmatter** It is important to note that not all defense mechanisms are entirely negative. The political statements are generally about the abstraction humans into groups and NOT about the specifics of the political issue**Projection primes your for collective ideology. When offered a group to project on and a group to join in that projection, history tell us we join. Some love to blame the majority of war on religion, i offer projection. We must be honest with ourselves. We mustt be honest without ourselves in order to be honest with othersWe must be honest with outselves BEFORE we can be honest with othersWe must embrace our shadow. In our next podcast we will dive into the psychology of the great Carl JungThe individuation process with includes the ShadowJung believed if we didn't answer answer the projection of the shadow on an individual level then the only outcome would be WarsEnd Jung qoute from Visions: Notes of the Seminars Give between 1930 and 1934“Modern people, are ignorant of what they really areWe have simply forgotten what a human being really is,So we have men like Nietzsche and Freud, and Adler, who tell us what we are quite mercilessly. We have to discover our shadow. Otherwise we are driven into a world war in order to see what beasts we really are”
