Thanks for visiting, this is a podcast for all things, but mostly Disney. Here I talk about all topics of Disney, theme parks, and other things in entertainment that I find interesting for fun to talk about. This is an explicit podcast, by that I mean you
I'm ending the show, for now atleast. Don't know if I'll be back. It's kinda like a futurama ending. This explains why. Thanks for listening. Really, means a lot
On this episode I'm joined by Dane Tankelsey, creator of the new Disney Park documentary: Beyond The Glass: The WDW Animation Building a doc looking into the history of the Florida studio that was born here to be the main attraction of the Art of Disney Animation Pavilion at Disney's MGM Studios. Of course we get off on some tangents. But that's just cause there's too much in the doc that was hard to spoil. Please, soon as you're done with this episode run over to YouTube to watch a doc about one of the best things to ever come to Walt Disney World.
After about a 6-8 month hiatus, the show is back and we got a solid episode for you guys. I've brought on Ryan Dorman from one of my favorite theme park podcasts, Unbuilt, to the show to talk about Disney live-action remakes and all that surrounds them. Also please stick around till the end of the episode for a quick explanation of my absence and a hint at the biggest project I've ever orchestrated.
It's that time of the year again! HHN is finally upon us and y'all already know what that means: Another installment of HHN of Our Nightmares! This year I'm joined by Sterling Denham aka Cryptigutz. The rules are the same as before, we each come up with houses, scarezones, and a show and then we present them all to you. This year must be the year of the gamer because most of our picks, if not all, are video game based!
Hey y'all! It's been awhile hasn't it? This episode isn't anything major, it's just me explaining why I've been gone for so long, that I'm back and that episodes will be dropping very soon. Sorry to keep y'all waiting.
On this episode I'm joined by my OG, Tim Grassey, from the Marty Called Podcast to discuss a few issues of discourse in the community such as sightlines, signs, and other little nitpicks that ultimately aren't a huge deal to anyone but us nerds. But of course the conversation evolves into us addressing bigger problems, talking about EPCOT, and other winding sidebars. Either way, I hope y'all enjoy the conversation.
AYYEEEE FIRST EPISODE OF 2023 ! To kick off the year I brought on comic book writer, Tommy Stella, to the show to talk about our ideas for what an MCU land/attractions and how we'd like to see the MCU handled in the Disney parks. This is something that's been on my list since I visited Avengers Campus last year and I hope y'all get a kick out our picks.
On this episode I'm joined by Marlene Bellissimo from the YouTube channel: Dreamsounds. Me and her discuss a long overdue topic about the Don't Say Gay fiasco, Disney's relationship with queerness, and our own placement in all of it. We also talk about the oddly fateful encounter we had pre-pandemic. This is definitely one of those bare soul episodes and it was great to switch up the pace. Hope y'all enjoy it.
It's 'bout that time y'all! HHN season is upon us; just in time, I'm here with the yearly HHN armchairing episode. This year I'm joined by Emory Alvarado, aka the mother of Lil'Boo, HHN's new mascot. We both go back and forth presenting what we would want our HHN's to look like. We got drag queen witches, gangsta rappers, and even a zombie Rick James! Not gonna lie to y'all, I think this might rival last year's!
Today I got an OG in the Walt Disney World fanbase space, one of the heads of RetroMagic, RetroWDW, and the Lake Buena Vista Historical Society: How Bowers. We got to talking about how he got his start in the community, what he thinks of the new school bloggers and YouTubers, EPCOT being run by PBS, and how RetroMagic was formed. He was a massive get for the show and was on my personal list of dream guests, so I had a blast. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
On this episode I'm joined by Chris from the youtube channel: OrangeGrove 55. We have a great time talking about all things going on with the parks and everything around it such as the ever polarizing figure Chapek, why Disney isn't firing back at Universal's Epic Universe quite yet, and my run in with Daddy D' Amaro. Great time all around and can't wait to have him back.
In this episode, I'm joined by Kenneth from his youtube channel: Parallel Disney. I've been following his channel for a while now and decided to reach out and see how he came up with his channel. We talk about how he got into the game, his theme park youtube rival, and what his favorite versions of some Disney park staples are.
This is an exciting episode for me, we got Dave Cobb, master storyteller and father to the best attraction at Universal Studios Florida, Men In Black: Alien Attack. We talk about his arrival in the theme park industry, I gush about MIB, and we get to explore his latest work over in Dubai with the Warner Bros. properties. Oh, and of course, we had to talk a little bit about the twitter EPCOT debate. Solid two-hour conversion, had a great time.
I'm back from a long hiatus. I hope I didn't keep any of y'all waiting. On this episode, in a change of pace, I talk about the state of the show, the starcruiser, the stupid guardians stand, and the proud family revival. It's glad to be back.
On this episode, I'm kicking off the Halloween season with a sequel to one of my shows last year. I'm joined by Hunter Fagan from the podcast Grim Grinning Hosts and we're talking about our picks for what we'd do if we were in charge of HHN this year. We chose 8 houses, 2 scare zones, 1 show, and 1 bar each. Nothing but good picks all around. Hope y'all have fun listening as much as we loved recording it!
On this episode I'm joined by John Lynch, friend of the show and an idea powerhouse. Me and him talk about our own dream hotel and resorts for Walt Disney World. Hope y'all like this one.
On this episode of APFATBMD, I'm joined by Storybook Amusement from the youtube channel...storybook amusement? Anyway Storybook has been doing such great work uncovering attractions that were cut from Islands of Adventure very early in the parks life span. The one we're talking about on this episode is the Pandemonium Cartoon Circus show that was located in the now vacant big top stage at Toon Lagoon. Storybook recently found a full recording of the show, and of course me being a huge Toon Lagoon fan, I had to have him on to talk about it.
Sorry to keep you waiting! APFATBMD IS BACK! Starting off with another episode of speaking about diversity in disney, mostly the parks. I'm joined by Fredrick Chambers, host of Imagine Tomorrow. We're talking about the trailer for the new Disney movie Encanto, and how seemingly on instinct people want to throw the movie into Animal Kingdom. Encanto is not alone, we've seen this trend of folks advocating for a new movie to be placed in the parks before the movie has been released or the movie just came out. This leads to a bigger discussion about placing movies where they don't belong.
At the beginning of the year, during the first week of black history month, I posted this open letter to Disney, and since then, there's been some buzz. Although I wrote the letter, I figured it would be great to talk about it with my actual recorded voice so every can hear my tone. Often times stuff on social media can be a misconstrued because we can't hear the tone of the persons voice. If you are someone like me, who got hit with some discrimination at Disney or Universal or any of the places we should be confrontable with you can always reach out and I'll amplify your story. Things like this shouldn't happen at a place that is supposed to be an escape from the woes of regular life.
On this episode I'm joined by Lito Morona to talk about his and my ideas for what a cartoon network based land would look like at a theme park and how it's amazing the channel hasn't had a chance to really shine in a theme park. Had a good time, I know I always say that but it's always a good time talking about things you're passionate about. Speaking of passion, we kind of go off the rails and dip into other channels IPs, but that's just a good sign of communication.
On this episode I'm joined by reoccurring guests: Fredrick Chambers from the podcast: Imagine Tomorrow and Matthew Serrano, director of the Halyx documentary, both, at the same time, oddly enough for the first time. We go over our picks for what our four worlds would be for our versions of Epic Universe.
Hey everyone this is going to be a new type of episode than one you've seen on the show before. This style of show will deal with me interacting with guests who's home parks are the international parks. I recent met a theme park fan from Japan, on twitter, who was sharing some great insight about how the Japanese feel about their parks. I just found that fascinating and I just had to get him on the show. Also please bare with Aki, English is not his main language and he does his best throughout this interview. He's a very nice guy who doesn't deserve any disrespect for how he talks and communicates. He's doing the best he can. The fact that he can communicate in english is impressive on it's own merits. Enjoy the show.
I'm back with a new episode featuring my guest Trader Avery. He came to me with a show idea for what would I do if I was president of the Disney Company for a week. I hit him back saying make it a month and that he should come on the show too since it was his idea. Thus the idea for this episode. I'm glad I had him on, you know it's a good time when you get a little off track due to the chemistry of the conversation. Hope y'all like it as much as we liked making it.
On this episode of APFAT, I'm joined by my friends Alicia Stella from Orlando Parkstop and Matthew Serrano, director of Halyx. We discuss other Nintendo properties that we would like to see in the Universal parks that haven't been announced or rumored now that Universal has joined hands with Nintendo.
This was another off the cuff discussion me, Rachel, and Matthew had as we were TRYING to get to Da Great Black Movie Ride topic.
I've been having this trend of rambling and talking to guest before I offically kick of the show, most of the time we realize around an hour into recording that we've talked about everything else besides the topic we came to do on the show. In the past I've retrofitted them as episodes. So now I'm just gonna make a series for them that are esentially a random gatcha sorta episode. Basically these episodes are completely off the cuff and you never know what you're gonna get, like a gatcha machine. But still anything from a gatcha/capsule machine is always a good time. This is from a failed attempt where me and friend of the show, Fredrick Chambers, are trying to record his PotP episode. Hope y'all like it
I brought back Halyx director, Matthew Serrano and a new friend, Rachel Duncan to talk about a concept I thought of for what we would think of a great movie ride that featured only black films. I'm really proud of this episode and I think it might be a new favorite. I hope it's one of y'all's too.
On this episode of PotP we start the series with my good theme park buddy, and host of the Imagine Tomorrow podcast, Frederick Chambers. He's here to tell us all about his own personal experience with Horizons and that bygone era of EPCOT 1.0 that all has a special place in our hearts.
Honestly I was just riding around in the car trying to get my niece to fall asleep and I was just rambling about theme park stuff to her. Somehow my phone was recording I guess. Anyway a lot of it was too good to toss out so I figured I'd string some of the best moments together and make an episode out of it.
I got to interview the artist Sonder Quest to talk about his art and get to know him a little better. We go on and on about south of the border, Holy Land, and the live action Disney remakes. Always nice to make a new friend!
APFATBMD is back after a long hiatus. On this episode I'm join by Tim Grassey of Marty Called and Peyton from Parks With Peyton. We talk about how Animal Kingdom could get in on the fun of Halloween.
On this episode of APFATBMD, I'm joined by my friends Mateo and Alicia from Parkstop on this episode we all come together to discuss our ideas for what a Halloween Horror Nights event would look like at Hollywood Studios. I'm happy that we all came together to share our ideas. If you have ideas please hit me up, I'd love to hear them.
This is the first in I hope to be a long running series. I've asked myself these past few months why so many people my age and younger love EPCOT 1.0 especially Horizons. So I started an interview series where I want to ask folks on and enter view them and figure out why we love this attraction so much, even though we never got to ride it and have only second hand accounts. This episode serves as the blueprint of the series with me and my own love of the attraction.
On this episode, I have Mr. Director of "Live from the Space Stage: A Halyx Story" himself, Matthew Serrano, on the program. We talk about the band, the members, and of course what we'd both like to see going forward with these characters and the band.
I'm joined by my friends Frederick Chambers from Imagine Tomorrow and Peyton Liebler from Parks with Peyton. Today we discuss WHY Wakanda belongs in EPCOT in someway shape or form.
On this episode of APFATBMD, I talk about my dream Walt Disney World fifth gate: Toon Disney. Toon Disney was an idea that I first came up when I was a kid in high school. It's a park dedicated to all of the original Disney animated shorts and Disney animated Television shows. I hope you like it, and my ideas inspire you to come up with your own. Definitely hit me up with your ideas, maybe I could read them on the show and if your ideas have legs I'd love to bring you on the show to discuss them; that is of course, you want to come. There is also a preface to acknowledge the passing of Chadwick Boseman. If you want to skip it just speed it up 6:46.
On this episode of APFAT, I figured I'd go ahead and make an episode that would be easy for anyone, no matter what level of their knowledge of theme parks or Disney, to pick up and enjoy. These past few months I've been having people who wanted to start listening to the podcast, but aren't considered hardcore fans of Disney and theme parks. So I wanted to go ahead and do an episode where I explain why I love theme parks and Disney. I go on a little off track, but what's an APFAT episode without going off track a bit.
On this episode of APFAT, I speak on a recent tweet that I saw on twitter that declared Michael Eisner should be a Disney Legend. Spoiler: I think he totally should.
Today I had Skygetsfancy on the program to talk about how she makes her amazing dresses from concept to fruition. I truly learned a lot. Hope y'all do too. Also unfortunately folks, my sound on my end doesn't sound as good in past couple of episodes. We recorded the full episode, I went back to listen to the episode and edit it and discovered I was muffled a bit. Hopefully this doesn't distract to much from what was a great episode.
I didn't really know how this one got recorded. I thought it was just me and a guy who walked into the kava bar talking but apparently the conversation got caught on tape so here you go.
On this episode of APFAT, I brought on me and my friend, Alicia Stella for theme park stop, to talk about our experiences going back to Walt Disney World after their reopening in a COVID world. There's also a bit of a foreword by me speaking on the opening. Skip to 16:25 to get to the episode if you want.
On this episode of APFAT, I got Freddy Chambers from the "Imagine Tomorrow" podcast on to talk about all the cool and fun ways that past EPCOT characters could come out of wasteland and back into the park with it's next iteration. From everyone from SMRT-1 to Butler Bot we talk about new areas where they can thrive and live again among the newer characters added to the park. Hope y'all enjoy.
On this episode of APFATBMD, I'm recording in a new place, the study room of the Kava Culture a kava Bar in downtown Tampa, or as I've dubbed it: KC studios. I've been hearing stirrings about folks wanting a Hamilton overlay in Liberty Square or the American pavilion. I weigh in on this and I also try to armchair imagineer some new ideas to help the worst land in Magic Kingdom, Liberty Square.
Today, I'm joined with Shawn Orlando to talk about the recent news of Splash Mountain being replaced with a Princess and the Frog attraction. This an episode that will be paired with the previous Disney & Diversity episode seeing as this will probably be a topic that continues to come up as the landscape of the Disney, theme parks, and it's fans are becoming more diverse. I hope you enjoy this difficult, yet important continuous conversation.
First off, from the jump I'm a huge pokemon fan, and with rumors stirring of a phase two Pokemon expansion for Universal's Epic Universe I had to do an episode armchairing and speculating on what this new land might be. I also brought in my friend and fellow pokemon trainer, Thomas Ferrara, to the program so he could come on and dream up with me also. Hope y'all like it.
Part of the double feature, the second episode is a bit different. I have my friend Ryan Barr here with me to talk about our teenage days in the community where we did nothing yell at each other. We then talk about where he stands with the parks now and how much he's been through since he's moved to the theme park capital of the world.
I'm solo this time around on the program, I talk about my hot off the heels experience at the passholder preview Universal had for it's reopening. This is the first episode of a double feature I have going on that is sorta universal based. Hope you enjoy. Also there is a bit of a forward about recent events, skip to 14:19 to jump straight into the show.
Today was a huge get for me, I got Mr. King of Theme Park Youtube, Kevin Perjurer on the program for you guys. We talk about how he got into the theme park youtube game, whether or not he has groupies, and which low tier defunct attractions we'd like to see come back or not. I'm so thankful he showed up. It's another fun ass episode, at least to me, hopefully y'all like it too.
On this episode I have Mateo Osorio on the program. He's a great kids, had a great time talking to him. This episode was all over the place, but a lot of the best times with friends are all over the place. Hope y'all like it.
