Washington, DC is a city built on a swamp. As the city slowly limped into modernity, utilities such as plumbing were slow to develop. Greg Jenner and his guests Dr Corin Throsby and Cariad Lloyd discuss the life and legacy of Mary Wollstonecraft. Mary was a successful ghostwriter, an advocate of human rights and a witty book critic who navigated the tumultuous 'Reign of Terror' in France, a treasure hunt and multiple heartbreaks. She is regarded by many as the 'mother of feminism', in large part due to her ground-breaking book, The Vindication of the Rights of Woman. Research: Chris Wakefield and Rosanna Evans Script: Emma Nagouse, Chris Wakefield and Greg Jenner Project manager: Siefe Miyo Edit producer: Cornelius Mendez
Greg Jenner and his guests Dr Annie Gray and Richard Osman get the inside scoop on the history of our favourite frozen food while packing in as many of their 'flavourite' ice cream puns as possible (final count: 15!). They savour the dubiously 'legendairy' origins of frozen cream dishes, explore some weird early flavours (including whale vomit!), and discover how ice cream went from glamorous luxury to dangerous health risk. Plus Dr Annie teaches us how to make our own ice cream in the Nuance Window! Research: Chris Wakefield Script: Emma Nagouse, Chris Wakefield and Greg Jenner Project management: Siefe Miyo Edit producer: Cornelius Mendez
Greg Jenner and his guests examine the life of Sake Dean Mahomed who introduced curry, shampooing and therapeutic massage to 19th-century England. He grew up under colonial rule, but Sake Dean Mahomed ended up living in Brighton until the age of 92 and counted members of the Royal Family among his many clients. Greg's guests in this episode are Dr Arunima Datta from Idaho State University and the comedian and podcast host Eshaan Akbar. Script: Emma Nagouse, Chris Wakefield and Greg Jenner Research: Chris Wakefield Project manager: Siefe Miyo Edit producer: Cornelius Mendez
This week we have Overdrive team member Chris Wakefield join us. Chris tells Josh about his introduction to hunting and how he got into coyote hunting. Chris and Josh discuss deer hunting in Michigan and scouting using topography and how they are applying these tactics to kill bigger bucks.
Providing one of the first comprehensive, cross-cultural examinations of the dynamic market for sexual services, this book presents an evidence-based look at the multiple factors related to purchasing patterns and demand among clients who have used the internet. The data is drawn from two large surveys of sex workers' clients in the US and UK. The book presents descriptive baseline data on client engagement with online platforms, demographics and patterns of frequency in different markets, information on smaller niche markets and client reactions to exploitation, safety and changes in the law. Teela Sanders, Barbara G. Brents and Chris Wakefield's book Paying for Sex in a Digital Age: US and UK Perspectives (Routledge, 2020) makes clear that a variety of situational as well as individual factors affect the willingness and ability to purchase sexual services. The view that emerges shatters the stereotypes and generalistions on which much policy is based and demonstrates the complexities surrounding who pays for sex and the contours of sexual consumption in consumer culture. Rachel Stuart is a sex work researcher whose primary interest is the lived experiences of sex workers. Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode I'm joined by Tim Grassey and Chris Wakefield from the E-ticket Report Podcast and also Eryka from the blog Eryka's Endless Magic. In this episode we talk about Bob Chapek new rise to power. But the bulk of our conversation is one about how Disney could be more inclusive with it's imagineers and other creative offices. This is a conversation about race, so as a quick disclaimer: This is not made to make anyone feel bad or terrible. This conversation is one that needs to be had because it would be more detrimental to not talk about it, than to get it out in the open and actually have this awkward conversation. So please lend us your ears, as I'm sure by the end of it you'll see that it's a very productive conversation.

In addition, Joffrey's will develop special blends exclusive to Disney and resort hotel rooms will all have a catalog where guests can purchase Joffrey's products to take home. These changes will be complete within the next few months. Just to give you an idea how quickly Limited time magic goes, we have had two events go since our last recording. And two more events come and go. What has ended is Golden Horseshoe Review Tribute and the New Orleans Bayou Bash. What has COME and go meaning the event happened and is now gone Lunar New Year at DCA and True Love Week Extended hours at DCA on Thursdays. 2 extra hours to enjoy. Finally it seems that they will now start enforcing fastpass return times as they recently did in Florida. Of course this draws outrage from the fan community which frankly I don't understand. Signs has gone up although I understand the enforcement is not actually in place yet. Signs are up merely to start getting passholders used to the idea.
