|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry talks about the importance of sharing our personal stories of faith, like Paul in the Book of Acts, who boldly shared his testimony even in the face of violence and adversity. We all know that life can be unfair, even when we're trying to live faithfully, but Pastor Jerry encourages us to trust in God's truth, especially during difficult times. As a church, let's actively engage with God's Word and be courageous in sharing our faith with those around us!|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || As we celebrate our graduating seniors, Pastor David emphasizes how important it is for us to reflect God's love in the ways we live and serve. He compares the prideful attitude of a Pharisee to the humble devotion of a sinful woman who showed deep love for Jesus, which tells us that true surrender moves us to serve, even when it's not convenient. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Rachel's Mother's Day message expresses deep gratitude for the impact that spiritual mothers have in our lives. In this message, we learn about the God-given nature of motherhood and the how important the calling of motherhood truly is. In looking at Moses' mother, we see the importance of spiritual motherhood and the significant impact it has on future generations, encouraging everyone to embrace their roles in nurturing and raising others. As Christians, we're called to step into the responsibility of raising up the next generation. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Michael shares his journey from rural Tennessee to the heart of Detroit, where he serves as a missionary. He reminded us of the power that our personal stories hold in sharing the gospel. Just like Paul in the book of Acts, we all have a story that includes who we were before Jesus, how we met Him, and who we are now. Michael emphasizes that our stories are not just about a one-time encounter with Jesus but about an ongoing journey of faith. Sharing our stories with others is a perfect way to invite them into the family of God. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In yesterday's message, Pastor Jerry reminded us that the human need for approval is deep, but God's approval must be our ultimate aim. He walked us through Paul's painful rejection in Jerusalem, showing how Paul remained faithful despite misunderstanding and betrayal. Pastor Jerry emphasized that Paul's imprisonment led to some of the greatest growth in the early church and the writing of key New Testament letters. He challenged us to recognize how living for others' approval can compromise our faith and mission. Pastor Jerry encouraged us to root our identity in God's verdict of love and approval rather than the shifting opinions of others. This week, let's stay connected to God's approval by spending time in prayer, reading Scripture, and surrendering our hearts to Him each day.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry's Easter message dives into why the resurrection of Jesus is such a big deal — it's the foundation of our faith! He talks about the confusion and heartbreak Jesus' followers felt after the crucifixion, and how Jesus didn't give up on them, even when they were ready to walk away. It's a reminder that no matter where we've been or what we've done, hope and redemption are still ours — because the risen King comes looking for us, even when we've drifted. It's an invitation to let His resurrection change everything and step into the new life He's calling us to.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || As we approach Easter Sunday, it's important to reflect on what brought Jesus to the cross in the first place. As Pastor Jerry reminded us on Sunday, even as far back as Genesis 15, God made a covenant with Abraham that He would be faithful to him and his descendants. We broke the covenant through our sin time and time again, and yet, God still held up his end of the bargain. Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross was the ultimate fulfillment of that covenant, and because of that, we could be restored! This Cross Sunday was a powerful reminder of just how much that Jesus endured for you and for me. || ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Emmanuel talks about the importance of obedience to God's calling, even when it involves discomfort. We see this in Acts 21, where Paul is warned by the Holy Spirit through prophecy that he will face imprisonment in Jerusalem. Despite the warning, Paul chooses to continue his journey, demonstrating his trust in God and commitment to his calling. Through conversation with Tyler Workman (co-founder of Okoa Refuge), we hear about his experiences of facing significant challenges and opposition while serving in Uganda. Despite these difficulties, Tyler emphasizes the importance of obedience to God and the joy found in pursuing His glory. Both Paul and Tyler exemplify a steadfast commitment to their divine missions, trusting in God's faithfulness and prioritizing obedience over personal comfort.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || As Pastor Jerry led us through Acts 20:32-38, he focused on the importance of living with open hands and generous hearts. God's grace is the foundation for a life of humility, gratitude, and selflessness towards others. Using Paul as an example, Pastor Jerry highlighted the value of working hard while also caring for the weak and vulnerable. He reminded us that generosity is a natural response to God's generosity toward us, and that living with open hands, in all aspects of life — work, time, talents, and finances — helps advance the hope and love of Jesus. || ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. She reflects on the early church's commitment to the gospel and encourages us to adopt a "whatever it takes" mindset, even when faced with difficulties. Through the message, we're reminded to spend time in quiet reflection, ask ourselves hard questions, and seek community for accountability, reinforcing the idea that faith is an active pursuit.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE ||Yesterday, Pastor David's message encouraged us to take time to shut off the noise of the world. When there's too much going on around us, it can be difficult to hear God's voice. Because of our Acts reading yesterday, we know that Paul took solitary time to be in tune with what God was saying. God's voice in his life helped him know where to go and who to minister to. In the same way, let's make sure to become still and quiet, listen, and hear what God is speaking to us. || ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In Pastor Jerry's message, he highlights the significance of the early church's impact on Ephesus, where Paul's teachings challenged the worship of idols. We're reminded that true transformation occurs not just through words, but through how believers live out the love of Jesus, reflecting it in their actions. He warns against idolatry — putting anything created by God in the place of God — and illustrates how people often seek fulfillment in things like wealth, career, or approval, which only God can truly satisfy. Pastor Jerry left us with this strong message, "If we are going to change the world, we must first be changed."|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Yesterday morning, Pastor Emmanuel explained the dangers of using spiritual gifts for selfish ambitions, as shown by the seven sons of Sceva. While Paul experiences the miraculous power of God, the seven sons try to leverage the name of Jesus for their own gain, only to be humiliated and hurt by a demon. Through this message, we learned that true spiritual authority comes not from human effort or skill, but from being genuinely transformed by God and remaining in His presence. Relying on our ego and self-sufficiency will ultimately lead to failure, while surrendering to God through repentance unlocks true freedom.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry's message emphasized the importance of investing in others for God's glory, using Apollos as an example. Though a gifted teacher, Apollos lacked full understanding of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. Priscilla and Aquila, having been mentored by Paul, graciously helped him grow in his faith. Pastor Jerry encourages us to mentor others, noting that our greatest contributions to God's kingdom often comes through those we invest in. Yesterday morning, Pastor Emmanuel walked us through Acts 18:12-23. He talked about how we can hear God's voice during overwhelming times. Life can often feel chaotic, making it hard to discern God's guidance. Drawing from Paul's experience, Pastor Emmanuel gave us several practical ways to seek God's voice during the "white noise" of our everyday life. The message encouraged us to stay grounded in God's truth, trusting His faithfulness and the support of those around us. It also reminded us to clear distractions, seek His voice, and prioritize obedience to His will over personal goals. As we make space to listen to the Lord's voice, we're sure to hear Him speak about how we can continue to be transformed by the Holy Spirit and share that transformation with others!
|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry walked us through Acts 18, where Paul faced both opposition and breakthrough in Corinth. We saw how Paul didn't give up when things got hard — he trusted God's presence, protection, and promises to keep moving forward. This was all so people close to him could encounter Jesus! Pastor Jerry reminded us that our mission field starts the moment we step outside the doors of the church, and that even when resistance comes, God is with us every step of the way.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor David focuses on Paul's experience with the idols in Athens and his call to the people to worship the one true God. These Athenian idols aren't much different from the idols in our own lives - whether it's career, relationships, or hobbies. Pastor David encourages us to recognize these idols and confront them with the help of prayer, Scripture, and wise counsel. The message challenges us to live with conviction, just as Paul did in Athens, adapting to culture without compromising the truth of the gospel.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || You live out what you believe about yourself whether it is true or not. Identity drives activity. What you believe about yourself and about God will impact everything else in your life. Statements like these helped inform the message that we heard yesterday. In a world where we're so often defined by our activity, Pastor Jerry emphasized the importance of “Being” with God, rather than simply “Doing” for God. Just as Jesus was affirmed in his identity before his public ministry even began, God affirms our identity as his children before we busy ourselves with tasks and to-dos. In 2025, let's have our identity and our lives shaped by the love and truth of our Heavenly Father.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. Merry Christmas, Beach Church! Our Christmas Eve message this year dives into the incredible story of Jesus' birth and the people God chose to be a part of it. Mary, a humble teenage girl, said “yes” to God's plan, and Joseph, a young man, trusted God and did the right thing despite the challenges. The first to hear the good news weren't kings or celebrities—they were shepherds, the least important in society, showing that God's love is for everyone. Even the wise men, who seemed far from God, were invited to worship the newborn King. At the heart of it all is Jesus, who came to bring hope, peace, and salvation to the world. Listen in to know how this story changes everything for us today!
Yesterday's message from Pastor Emmanuel explored the inspiring story of the three Magi from Matthew 2:1-12. These “wise men”, or sorcerers, left everything behind to follow a star, trusting it would lead them to the newborn King. God met the Magi in an unlikely place in the midst of their sorcery, showing us that He's willing to go to unexpected places for us too. The important thing is that we, like the magi, learn to listen to His voice instead of any other.
|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In this message, Pastor David posed the powerful question that if God could use shepherds — often considered the lowliest and most disregarded members of society — why wouldn't He use you? Reflecting on the Christmas story, we talked about how the shepherds, who were living in literal and spiritual darkness, were the first to receive the announcement of Jesus' birth. The typical expectation is that such an important message would be delivered to the powerful or elite, yet God chose the humble and overlooked. This proves that God often works through those we least expect, and He is willing to use anyone who makes themselves available. The question, "If God could use a shepherd, why wouldn't He use you?" challenges us to consider our role in God's mission.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In this message, we're reminded that the birth of Jesus was more than a wish. It was the fulfillment of God's ancient promise to reconcile humanity - fulfilling over 300 Old Testament prophecies! Pastor Jerry emphasizes the importance of the virgin birth, which allowed Jesus to be sinless and the perfect Savior, able to bear the sins of humanity. Jesus, whose name means “God saves,” came to redeem us from sin, as foretold in Isaiah 53. The Christmas message is not just a philosophy but the presence of God with us in every aspect of life, offering hope and salvation to all who call on His name.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry reflects on God's many promises throughout Scripture. Like He did in Abraham's journey, God works unexpectedly through unlikely people and circumstances. From Abraham's old age and struggles with his wife's infertility, to God fulfilling His promise of a son, Pastor Jerry emphasizes that God's plan often unfolds through those society might overlook — like Mary, a young, poor, and unmarried girl chosen to bear the Savior. Through this message, we're encouraged to trust in God's faithfulness, regardless of our past, limitations, or doubts. We're challenged to consider how God might be calling us to step out in faith, even if we feel unqualified or insignificant. Ultimately, God's promises are always fulfilled, and He uses the most unlikely people to bring about His redemptive plan for the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Emmanuel emphasizes the transformative power of wrestling with God's Word. Drawing from Acts 17:10-15, he challenges us to engage with Scripture not passively, but actively, through questioning, searching, and seeking truth. He reminded us about the importance of context, curiosity, and expectation when studying the Bible, similar to a wrestling match where God's truth is the ultimate victor. Through personal testimony and Scripture, he illustrates that true transformation happens when we confront God's word with humility and a willingness to change.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || As Pastor Jerry walked us through Acts 17:1-9, he reminded us that the ultimate purpose of our lives is to point others to Jesus; just as Paul did. The early church, despite having no power or status, caused a disruption in the best possible way for God's Kingdom — transforming entire cities through acts of love, courage, and faith. We don't need a seminary degree to reach others for the Kingdom! Finally, Pastor Jerry calls us to recognize that Jesus is not just a life coach; He is Lord. True discipleship means surrendering every area of our lives to Him, from our relationships to our finances, and living for the Kingdom of God.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || This Sunday, we wrapped up Acts 16 with the story of Paul and Silas being released from prison. Pastor Jerry reminded us of the importance of praising God in the middle of life's darkest trials, just as Paul and Silas did. We may face days, weeks, or entire seasons where life feels hopeless. However, we know that Jesus is with us in every moment of our lives, even when the world may treat us unfairly and times are tough. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor David walks us through the story of the slave woman in Acts 16. This woman was not only physically enslaved by owners who profited off of her, but she was also spiritually enslaved by a demon. This story reminds us that while we walk around in a world that's filled with both physical and spiritual darkness, we serve a God who brings light! Through this message, Pastor David invites us to walk in the true freedom and strength that can only be found in Jesus. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || God is working! As Rachel walked us through part of Acts 16 yesterday, we saw how God used Paul to minister to Lydia. A wealthy Roman female business owner may have not seemed like the most likely candidate to be a recipient of the Gospel in the first century, but Paul's obedience led to her accepting Jesus and practicing generosity. Pastor Jerry walked us through what the last several years have looked like, and how our leadership team has prayerfully made the decision to join the Foundry Network. We then closed out the morning by ordaining our Senior Ministry Team! All this to say, Celebration Sunday was an amazing reflection of the heart of Beach Church. The early followers of Jesus came into a disagreement as they went back and forth over the need of circumcision for Gentile believers. The issues we may face today are different, but one thing is clear, our salvation comes from Jesus alone. As we move throughout this week, let's rely on Scripture as we make decisions and interact with others.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Through a fun story about her 6th grade basketball career, Rachel reminded us that it's time to get in the game when it comes to sharing the gospel. Done are the days where we sit on the sidelines of our faith! God has worked in miraculous ways in each of our lives. He's given us a story to tell - so tell it! As you move through your week, let's pray about sharing our story with those around us!|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry introduces us to the idea of Kingdom resilience, the God-given ability to recover quickly from difficulties. Following God's path often involves struggle and rejection, but resilience is a crucial part of spiritual growth. We can do much more when we stick together in community and keep going when things get tough! As Pastor Jerry quoted the African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together!"|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || This weekend, Pastor Jerry opened up the fall refresh on our Acts series. The first message in Acts Kingdom Come was all about how we can do hard things and shouldn't shy away from them. Paul and Barnabas continued ministering even when times were tough, and we can learn from that as we persevere in what God has called us to do, in spite of challenges. Let's reject the worthless things of this world and put our attention on Jesus, no matter the cost! || ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor David focuses on Paul and Barnabas' return to the synagogue, where the city's enthusiastic reception of their message contrasts with the jealousy and opposition from some Jewish leaders. He challenges believers to rely on the Holy Spirit rather than human efforts, highlighting the need for Heavenly wisdom over earthly ambition. Pastor David encourages us to reflect on our faith and embrace the fruits of the Spirit — joy, peace, and kindness — as we surrender to God's will and allow the Spirit to guide their lives.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Throughout history, people have been on a quest to connect with something bigger than themselves, whether through religion, self-care, or science. Even though we try hard, we often still feel far from what we're searching for. Pastor Emmanuel's message is that all these efforts might not lead us where we want to go. The real key is realizing that Jesus has already come to us, and He offers the connection we're looking for. Yesterday's message was a great reminder that it's only by embracing this grace that we can truly find the deep, satisfying connection with God that we've been searching for all along.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry uses the story of the false prophet in Acts 13 to teach us about the tactics of the enemy. The enemy only comes to seek, kill, and destroy what God has made good. Being on team Jesus, we know that we win in the end. We'll spend eternity with God but this enemy can steal all the good that God intends for our lives/the lives of our loved ones on this side of eternity if we let him! To stand strong in our fight against the devil, we're called to spend time in the Word, stay connected in a faith community, and be alert.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Yesterday morning, we talked through some big questions that may surface when it comes to having faith in Jesus. Questions like:What is one proven way to become a better follower of Jesus? How much faith do you have to have for God to answer prayer? What is the purpose of your life as a follower of Jesus?Pastor Jerry used the story of Peter's miraculous escape from prison to help us unpack these questions. Through these Scriptures, we learn that faith, community, and pursuing God's glory are vital in our walk with the Lord. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry explores the story of King Herod's persecution of early Christians, focusing on the execution of James and the imprisonment of Peter. Through the power of a praying church, Peter is miraculously freed from prison by an angel. This message serves as a powerful reminder of the power found in prayer and the trustworthiness of our God.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Emmanuel touches on the transformative power of the Holy Spirit as seen in the early church. He emphasizes the importance of identifying more with the kingdom of heaven, responding to adversity not with fear and division but with authority, courage, love, and sacrifice. We also learn more about the concept of "Shalom," a Hebrew term for wholeness and completion. Emmanuel calls Christians to embody this Shalom in their lives, promoting restoration and healing in the world, much like the early believers in Acts who responded to persecution with bold faith and generous support for others.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || As we walked through Acts 11:1-18 yesterday morning, Pastor Jerry emphasized how important our calling is to point those around us to Jesus. Peter managed to push past his preconceived notions about the Gentiles to bring Jesus to them, and he encouraged the Jewish believers to do the same. In the same way, we're called to reach out with the good news of Jesus, even to those who're different from us! This week, see how you can B.L.E.S.S. those around you.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || We're still sending Greetings From Acts this summer as Pastor Jerry continued to share the story of Cornelius and Peter yesterday! The unclean animals offered in Peter's vision were a foretelling of the opportunity he would have to interact with the supposedly “unclean” Gentiles. However, in Christ, there was no more division, and the gospel finally began going into the “…ends of the earth” as Peter entered into the home of the Gentile centurion and preached to him. Race, political party, and gender are no longer grounds for division and tension among us. Let's allow the Holy Spirit to bring down our prejudices and walls as we chase Jesus together!|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. In yesterday's message, Pastor Jerry walked us through Acts 10:1-8. Cornelius, a Gentile and a God-fearing man, receives a vision from an angel while praying. This vision reminds us that when you pray regularly, you never know when God might show up.Here are some big takeaways from this passage:God pursues us long before we pursue Him.A simple "yes" to God can change the world! When we can't see or hear God, we can follow what we know to be true of Him.God can (and will) use us for much more than we can even imagine!
|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || This Sunday, we saw how Peter accessed the healing power of Jesus to minister to Aeneas and Dorcas. As Peter called both of them to rise out of their situations, Jesus calls us to rise out of our pain and difficult circumstances to walk confidently with Him. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In the same way that Saul's experience with God completely transformed his life, Pastor Emmanuel reminded us that every life transformation begins with obedience. Our obedience to the Lord creates a transformation in us that points others to Jesus! Not only did Jesus save us, but He calls us to something bigger. This week, let's pray about what that might look like for us!|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. || ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || This week in our ACTS: New Start series, Pastor Jerry shared the story of Philip following the Holy Spirit's leading to a desert road. In the middle of nowhere, Philip's encounter with an Ethiopian eunuch leads to the gospel spreading to Africa! When the Holy Spirit prompts us, we don't know the exciting and amazing things that the Lord will do in and through us. This week's message is all about how to hear the Lord's voice and then go ahead and do what He is saying!|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world.
