The nanosecond the Passover ends at sundown the first day of unleavened bread begins. Perhaps this is to tell us how closely inter-related the spiritual meaning of both festivals are. Few things can discourage you like children who don't follow in your path. As Christians parents we long to see our children serve God. If you have PRAYED, lived your FAITH BEFORE them as best you could and yet they CHOOSE another PATH, your HEARTACHE can be DEEP. But others have TRAVELLED the PATH before you. Isaac saw his son Jacob surrender to God, while his other son Esau rejected Him.(Genesis 28:1-9) Aaron, the high priest, had two sons who offered 'STRANGE FIRE' on God's altar.( Numbers 3:4) Manoah lived through the SUICIDE of his son, Samson. (Judges 16:25-31) Even the prophet Samuel's sons 'didn't take after him; they were out for what they could get for themselves, taking bribes, corrupting justice' (1Samuel 8:2-3 TM). You are not ALONE in your concern for your CHILDREN, and it's too early for guilt, or for GIVING up on them. REMEMBER: FIRST: GOD ALONE CAN SAVE. 'Salvation is of the Lord' (Jonah 2:9). Don't try to take on God's responsibility or accept guilt that's not yours. Because He knows our hearts, God knows how and when to 'close the deal' with your child. So instead of worrying, keep lifting up their names before Him in prayer. SECOND: LET GOD SHOULDER THE LOAD. Your PART is to PRAY and BELIEVE God for THEM, then to get out from UNDER the BURDEN. He can CARRY IT; YOU CAN'T! (1Peter 5:7) THIRD: if they are ALIVE, there's HOPE. (Jeremiah 31:17). God can ARRANGE CIRCUMSTANCES and turn their STUBBORN HEARTS AROUND, if you will only TRUST Him. It being so fragile and struggling is a metaphor for how strained our person to person relationships are becoming every day. We don't connect, we certainly don't write letters, send cards. And in the era of Amazon, we have made UPS and Fedex billions, but where are they now? Have they offered to help in this crisis? Nope. Take our money, destroy our version of them and then walk.And that's what I'll never understand: we own a medical insurance company, Medicare, but we pay others and don't get the money; and we own a shipping company, we own it, but we use others and make them billions. That makes no sense

What does being naked in my closet have to do with anything? It has everything to do with YOU and ME being the S.O.L.UTION to all the craziness that's happening in our world. Today I’m seeking and sharing much needed comfort. When bad things happen…what can WE DO? WE can be the S.O.L.UTION. Please don’t feel hopeless or helpless…don’t allow this (or any other) senseless tragedy cause you to lose hope. THIS IS TRUTH: As long as life’s flowing through you, there’s always hope for healing. Hope for transformation, and a miracle. There’s no hope in fear, hate, blame, and the senseless battle with it. Let’s no longer engage ourselves in senseless battles. Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in senseless stuff that doesn’t really matter. What matters most is you, me…WE are all part of the S.O.L.UTION! You may be asking yourself, “What can I do? How can I make a difference?” Instead of pointing fingers, hating, being fearful, and losing hope…LET’S RISE UP! You may not be able to change every situation or another’s heart, but YOU and I can make a choice, and change our own hearts, situations, and lives. Be encouraged. Be inspired. Stand up. Rise up. Don’t shrink in times like this. Don’t hold your head down. Don’t stand in hatred or blame, or attempt to get revenge. Ask yourself, “What can I do to be part of the S.O.L.UTION?” You and I are part of the solution, or we’re part of the problem. Today’s the day to do something in your world, your community, your home, and within your heart to acknowledge truth. Love unites. A ray of hope can brighten a dark space. Hope transforms. Love transforms. Whatever situation you’re in - stand in hope and love. The power of ONE PERSON can change lives for good or bad. One person. One voice. One heart. One decision. One desire to make a change, and it all changes. If it’s not you, then who will it be? Stop waiting for someone else to come and change your life. Don’t wait any longer. YOU stand UP. You make choices today. You step into the desires of your heart. You be the voice of TRUTH. You be the voice of HOPE. You be the voice of LOVE. You have so much more power than you think you have. Stop saying you can’t. Whatever it is in your life that you feel hopeless, or helpless about, stop saying you can’t. Start focusing on what you can do. What can WE do to bring comfort? Strength? What’s the story you choose to LIVE? if you desire to help people, start by helping ONE. Speak to ONE. Have the FIRST conversation…the one between your own heart and soul. Ask God to show you YOUR PART. Then be willing and courageous enough to stand up and speak to ONE. 1 + 1 becomes 11. And exponentially we start to have an effect. Don’t shrink, and think, “Who am I to say?” Who are you NOT to say? Today’s the day. Whatever desire’s in your heart…it’s possible. Transforming our world starts in a closet. Naked, Unafraid. Unashamed. Unapologetic. Unconditionally loving your life + life’s work well. It starts in a closet talking into a microphone. It starts by talking to your neighbors. Reaching out. Simply smiling. It starts by waking up, my dear. Stand UP. Awaken the HOPE that’s within you. Stand up and be a voice of truth by living your truth. It starts right here. Right now. Do not wait. All of us need employees. The question is “Are They, Ours? Yes, we have direct employees. I can tell you we do not have as many direct employees as when we were Construction Contractors. Do we ever intend to have that many direct employees again? No Never, not ever in this lifetime. When we are reviewing software and services; we look for the larger companies who HAVE employees. We want to have access to their Customer Support and Tech Support (all are indirect employees). Outsourcing means we have access to highly qualified staff without all the headache and expense of in-house employees. This is what it takes to keep everything running smoothly (Plus good equipment). Fast Computers, Multiple Monitors, each office with their own printer, Hi-Speed Internet, Hi-Speed Scanners, good office environment with large “L” shaped desks, plus additional tables as work areas, comfortable office chairs, and finally working HVAC system. Hats off to Construction Companies who have 20, 30, 50 or more direct employees: · As you grow, there are additional regulations that come with more and more employees. · Recommend using a 3rd Party Payroll Service with an HR Component. · Suggest paying Bi-Weekly unless mandated to pay weekly. · Use Electronic Timecard. Limit Employee Advances. · Give Perks and Benefits that employees will appreciate. · Pay Well – There is a balance between Under Paying and Over Paying your employees. · Reward the productive employees. · Have written Coaching Reports for those who need a little reminder. · Don’t be afraid to “Let Someone Go” if it is no longer a “Good Fit.” · Some employees want to leave and just don’t know how to Quit. · They do not want to leave and have “Hard Feelings, ” but they want to move on. Many challenges “Big or Small” are exactly the same for all companies: · Keeping Track of Paperwork · Developing Processes · Creating Estimates · Getting Signed Change Orders · Creating Customer Invoices in a Timely Manner · Presenting The Invoice To The Customer · Asking For Money · Paying their Bills · Focusing On Tomorrow · Dealing With Today · Learning From Yesterday How can you do all of those things all at the same time? It is simple; but not easy. It takes practice Finding a “Good Bookkeeper” who understands construction and your issues is a First Start. Note – I did not say find a bookkeeper who will come to your house, pick up your mail, open it. Decide what is important. Deposit the checks, Write the checks, Pay the bills. That is a role for you, your spouse or a partner – not an outsider. Do not give a bookkeeper TOO MUCH AUTHORITY or you could wake up one day and be a victim of Bookkeeper Embezzlement! I have known bookkeepers who have “Presented themselves as part of Management” (as a Partner) which upon further questions to the actual owner I learned that was not true. (Just The Bookkeeper) Same has been true for Project Managers, Estimators, and other Field Employees who go beyond their authority. It is easy to spend “Other People’s Money” it is so much easier than spending our own. The local paper recently had an article about a “Bad Bookkeeper” who had been caught embezzling the Contractor’s funds for several years. The hardship to the Contractor and the loss of money is enormous. The Bad Bookkeeper was convicted, but even if restitution is 100%, it will take years and years to be pay off.
