Isaiah's vision of God's holiness in Isaiah 6 reminds us that everything begins by seeking Him first. When we encounter God's greatness, we recognize our own sin, receive His grace through forgiveness, and are called to live with purpose for His glory. Like Isaiah, our response should be, "Here I am! Send me," choosing each day to seek God, trust His grace, and faithfully serve wherever He leads.

Speaker: Rob BerrethScripture: Matthew 6:19-34Episode Overview:Jesus teaches that the direction of our lives is determined by what we treasure and who we trust. In Matthew 6:19-34, He challenges us to see money, possessions, anxiety, and our future through the perspective of God's kingdom. When God becomes our first pursuit, everything else begins to fall into its proper place. This passage invites us to move from chasing temporary security to trusting the Father who knows what we need and faithfully provides.Key Highlights:• Understanding why earthly treasures can never provide the lasting security and satisfaction our hearts seek.• Learning how our relationship with money reveals what we truly value and where our hearts are directed.• Seeing that God's gifts are good, but they become harmful when they take the place that belongs to God alone.• Discovering why Jesus connects our view of possessions with our experience of anxiety.• Exploring what it means to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” as the central priority of life.• Finding freedom from worry by trusting the loving care of our Heavenly Father.Call to Action:Take time this week to examine what truly sits at the center of your life. Ask God to reveal anything that has become a substitute for Him as your source of security, satisfaction, or identity. Seek first His kingdom by putting God back in His rightful place, trusting that when He is first, everything else falls into its proper place.Redeemer Church211 Northshore Dr. Bellingham, WA 98226www.redeemernw.org

Why does God ask His people to give if He already owns everything? In this episode, Marcos Bomfim presents the first part of the General Conference Stewardship Ministries Strategic Orientation. He challenges the common idea that church giving is primarily about meeting budgets or funding projects. Instead, giving is presented as a spiritual journey—one designed to teach us to trust God as our Owner and Provider.Marcos argues that people do not tithe simply to support ministers' salaries; instead, they give out of a deepening relationship with God. Through biblical principles, practical examples, and personal testimony, this message explores how tithes and offerings are not merely financial transactions, but acts of worship and faith—a spiritual discipline. From the “God First” principle to regular and systematic giving, this episode invites listeners to see generosity as a pathway to deeper dependence on God.You'll also hear:Why stewardship is more about faith than financesThe difference between tithe and offeringsHow regular giving shapes spiritual growthThe purpose behind “promise offerings”Why members' participation matters more than tithes and offerings totalsA personal story of choosing faith over financial securityThis episode calls for moving beyond project-driven giving and rediscovering financial stewardship as worship, trust, and partnership with God's mission.Key references: Proverbs 3; Malachi 3; principles from the writings of Ellen G. White. The following key themes and details are explored:Stewardship vision, mission, and goal. The "God First" Principle: This is presented as a positive application of the First Commandment—placing God at the center of every life decision, including marriage, career, and finances.Regular and Systematic Giving: Drawing from Proverbs 3:9 and the writings of Ellen White, the speaker defines this as returning a percentage of every income "increase" back to God. This includes the tithe (10%) and a regular offering, which is a percentage of the income chosen by the individual (often referred to as a "promise offering").The Difference Between Tithing and Offering: While tithe is fixed at 10%, offerings are where an individual can "increase their percentage" to exercise greater faith.Focus on Financial Stewardship: The speaker explains that while stewardship covers many areas (time, health, etc.), the Stewardship department has a focus on finances because it is the only department in the church structure dedicated to this topic.Measuring Success: Rather than tracking total dollars, the strategic goal is to see a 2% annual increase in membership participation in tithing and offerings, which serves as an indicator of spiritual growth within the congregation.Combined Offering Plan: This plan is promoted as a way to move members away from "project-based donations" toward a mindset of worshipping God through regular giving, ensuring funds are distributed equitably across local and global missions.Marcos shares his journey of transformation, noting that he initially never intended to be a pastor and felt spiritually weak. He recounts his experience pastoring both the poorest and wealthiest districts in his conference. He highlights a turning point where he and his wife decided to double their own offering percentage during a time of financial instability, viewing it as a "sacrifice of financial security" that allowed them to experience God's provision in the "desert".This episode mentions the production of offertory videos and readings designed to educate church members during the two minutes before a collection, aiming to provide a theological foundation for giving rather than mere entertainment. This episode was presented on May 04, 2026, during the Trans-European Division Stewardship Advisory in Belgrade, Serbia.

Pastor Gabe Moreno starts our SHARE series. When we think about sharing our faith with others, many of us immediately wonder, “What if I don't know what to say?” In this passage, we learn of an unsung hero of the faith who shared what he knew, even though he didn't have a complete gospel understanding. What would sharing opportunities look like for you if you prioritized seeking God's presence over searching for the right words to say?
There are very few people who love the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. But all too often we fall in love with the creation and forget the love of the Creator. The creation, while it is amazing, is only possible because God loved us enough to provide it for us. On today's program, we will hear from a pastor who, with his wife, is raising 6 kids and takes them to the outdoors as often as possible. The life of a pastor is often run at a fast pace and time off is at a premium. The distractions of caring for many people is not only time consuming but also energy and soul draining. It takes a special pastor to draw lines that protect not only his own wellbeing but also the wellbeing of his wife and kids.

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33 NLT) A man was out driving in the country during a heavy rainstorm when he came across an old farmer who was surveying the ruins of his barn. The man pulled over and asked the farmer what happened. “Roof fell in,” the farmer replied. “What happened with it? Why did it fall in?” asked the stranger. “It leaked so long, it just finally rotted through,” the farmer said. “Why in the world didn’t you fix it before it rotted through?” “Well, sir,” said the farmer, “I just never got around to it. When the weather was good, there wasn’t a need for it. And when it rained, it was just too wet to work on.” Isn’t it amazing that when you want to do something, you somehow manage to find the time, no matter how busy you are? But when someone asks you to do something you don’t want to do, suddenly, there is just no room in the schedule. This can happen when it comes to the Christian life as well. If we are serving God only when it’s convenient, then we’re settling for second best. Not only that, but we’re also keeping God at arm’s length. We’re settling for a less-than-best relationship with Him. If we make time for the things of God only until something better comes along, then we’re missing out on what God wants to do in our lives. How much better it is to make time for the things of God—to put them above everything else. How much better it is to get your priorities right. Instead of making excuses, make time for the Lord. It’s not only the simple way to live, but it’s also the best way. Jesus said, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” (Matthew 6:33 NLT). That’s an amazing promise. And it shows just how much God desires a personal relationship with us. When we drift away from God, it’s because we start to believe that we need certain other things in our lives. Those things may include earthly success, wealth, possessions, hobbies, or habits. So, we pursue them with a passion. We convince ourselves that they will bring us joy, give us a sense of accomplishment or fulfillment, or fill whatever emptiness we have inside us. And, like the farmer, we neglect the things that truly matter. And, also like the farmer, we run the risk of rot—spiritual rot. God, in His mercy, says, “If you will prioritize your relationship with Me, if you will close the distance between us by putting Me first, I will help you see what you truly need. I’ll help you remove the rot and strengthen you inside.” What an amazing offer! And it all begins with a priority shift. I had a blast at the For the Love of God Brunch, hosted by Desiree Brown and I! I had the honor of speaking on the topic “God First.” This message aligns deeply with my book, God First, which is truly for everyone. I want to share a quick story — I have a cousin who told me she read my book, Walk With Me, and was waiting to talk with me before reading God First. She said, “I know you're a Christian, and I know your heart — you love others. Is the book for everyone?” I told her yes, and encouraged her to read it, and then we would chat. A few months later, we spoke again, and she said, “I read the book, and now I understand — it truly is for everyone.” Always remember to keep the faith and keep going! Thank you all for your continued support — I truly appreciate each of you!
