To inspire fellow believers to live an empowered life, aligned with God's principles; to exemplify how to respond in the present society while maintaining their Christian walk.
In this episode we discussed what prophecy is, keeping an open mind, and ultimately learning how to discern what God is saying at any point in time. Remain absolutely blessed as you stay in Christ Jesus!
What is your response when you're facing a challenging situation and it looks like nothing good is going to come out of it? In this episode, we will discuss how life experiences are definitely in league with God's plans to mold and shape us. Even the hard times of life can be reformed to glorify God. Apostle Paul said in Acts 20:23, "except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me."But he still pressed on with the right perspective. Many in the bible, including Joseph, David, Hannah and Naomi (Note: Elimelek, his wife's name was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Kilion) have faced times where God proved that He could mold a seemingly messy situation into a masterpiece, if you stick with Him.
In this episode, we share songs that are blessing us. Some of them are oldie but goody and evergreen. Some are recent songs carry the sound of heaven. “For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), [a]recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Ephesians 2:10. The same way a Tailor or Seamstress makes a custom made outfit to fit their Client, that's the way we've been created to suit Gods purpose and plans on the earth. In this episode, we talked about the intentionality of God and why we must take our relationship with God very seriously and more. Take a listen and remain absolutely blessed!
In this episode, we will NOT be talking about a person specifically, (no names mentioned) but instead focusing on the believer's response to a trend. This is a fast-growing and wide-spreading common practice. Sometimes these things happen around us suddenly and we're swept into conversations or come past commentary. 2 Corinthians 5: 10 says, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." For the record, we stand with the men of God.
Do we realize it's within our ability to stop unwanted thoughts? IT IS! 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, we are to "take captive every thought." In this episode, along with our guest Sis. Sade, we discuss the harm of not taking hold of and arresting intrusive (evil) thoughts (with ill intent); we will also go into what steps we can take as believer's to stop them from invading areas of our minds. {FYI: Sis. Sade is a Marriage and Family Therapist/Event's Coordinator & “and your favorite girl Thursday, what you need she got you.” }
In this episode we explore this common practice of “marrying up” socio-economically or otherwise. There is actually a term for it - hypergamy! As believers, is this a practice or something that we are unaware of happening. After all, in Prov. 27:17 it says, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." So, why not be hypergamous? We also have our first guest, Bro. Paul Falade, who will help elucidate this concept for us!
Hi there! This is the Believer's Brief; a short episode to charge you up. Is your testimony in the present or in the future? If it's in the present, praise God while you have your breath. If it's not here yet, praise God in advance. May be you have forgotten your testimony, reawaken the spirit of gratefulness within and share your testimony. You are that Catalyst that God will use to speed up someone else's miracle!
Really, won't you say something?! It's about time we all started speaking out against every attack and tricks of the enemy. Especially as women in times like this. We need to rise up and cover ourselves and families in prayer by speaking out! These are the days of God's move with deliverance and restoration ready to be ours as we speak up and speak out. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Revelation 12:11. So let's remain in Him and be victorious because that's the Believer's response!
Have you ever wondered if it is truly God's voice that you've heard? When things don't pan out as you expected based on what you had heard God say, do you begin to doubt the authenticity of the voice? In this episode, we discussed the issue of throwing out fleece. The saying “throwing out fleece” comes from Judges 6:33-40 where Gideon requested for God's guarantee of victory through two tests. In the first test Gideon puts a fleece garment on the ground and asks God to miraculously cause dew to only collect on the garment, not on the rest of the ground. We also discussed the trying times that come with even the express words that we receive from God. The fact that God said it does not exempt any believer from trials. Trials will come as a test of our confidence in the voice of God. Do listen, be inspired and transformed in Jesus' name!
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus...” Philippians 2:5 Having the God-kind of mindset is extremely pivotal to every believer's destiny, most importantly in times like these. Whenever God says a thing He means it. Psalm 62:11 says “God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.” One of the ways to ditch the old and negative mindset that diminishes God's standard tor our lives is to increase our enthusiasm and faith level to receive all that God has said to us in the scriptures and through our own personal revelation. From the vantage point of a believer, let's remain in Him and be victorious by continuing to trust in His word, because that's the true believer's response!
In this episode, we chat about having "what it takes" to face this new year and go beyond. In case you haven't figured it out, you'll need *strength* and *capacity*. Then you can say, with a resounding YES!, I have what it takes. After all, we can "do all things through Christ who strengthens us!" (Philippians 4:13)
Sometimes it takes you a while to make connections, but remember God is the... "Connector."
Happy New Year fellow Believers!! We made it. Thank you Jesus! This is kinda the biggest "what's been blessing you?" episode of the podcast where we examine impactful episodes from last year, May - December, and share how these lessons can transfer to 2021. Love, Your Sisters in Christ, Althea & Bamidele
In this episode, we discuss this commonly used acronym, F.O.M.O - fear of missing out. And yes, believers may also feel this anxiety about missing important details and events in the world around them, as seen often through the lense of social media. But as it says in Isaiah 26:3 God will keep "in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust" in Him. So instead of looking at the world around us and feeling anxious, look up to God and relax. You're not missing anything.
Discernment is one of the believer's greatest assets, but many don't know what it is. Discernment describes the process of determining (differentiating or distinguishing) between good and evil or.... good and BEST. As believers, we MUST focus on determining God's desire in every situation in our lives. In this episode we look at why discernment is so essential. As with the sons of Issacar in 1 Chronicles 12:32, we need to understand the times and know what we should do in these times. As you and learn of the benefits of discernment, may God help you to adopt this gift of the Spirit in Jesus name!
This "Believers' Brief" episode is a mini-sode to encourage and uplift you on the go. We're living in unprecedented times, as we're sure every past generation has reported, but if we hold onto the word that God has spoken over our lives we can be confident when faced with anxiety. Thus says the Lord, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void." (Isaiah 55:11) Grab his word, hold on into it, and never let go! Be encouraged, in Jesus name.
In times like this, when there are political uprisings and protests against Police brutality and bad governance, we are enthused and burdened to share our thoughts with you. At the center of it all, as believers, God should be seen. In Zephaniah 3:17, the scripture says “The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Let's keep our hearts rested in God, as we continue to pray for good and true leadership in our land, as instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-3.
Why is it so easy to lie? Well, it's simple. We have the sinful nature that must be yielded to God for regeneration. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44). This bible verse clearly states that lying is a language and the originator of it all is our enemy, the devil. So here's a reminder or a charge for us all, to unlearn the language of the enemy and embrace the truth by speaking the truth at all times. Remember to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, and with that make your election sure.
Why is flattery a sneaky little fox?? Galatians 1:10 says, "For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ." Are you easily flattered or are do you resort to flattery to get your way?? In this episode, we discuss how sweet flattery can be destructive. Be edified as you listen.
Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes. Song of Solomon 2:15. There are so many things that we do ignorantly that are sinful. We will embark on different topics in this series to highlight those little foxes attempting to wreck our vine. The onus is on us to identify those little foxes and catch them before they destroy Gods investments in our lives. We begin this new series with the topic of lateness and unpreparedness. The highlight of the episode is for us, as Believers to embrace the excellent Spirit that God offers. May you be an embodiment of the excellency of God as you press on in your bid to please Him in Jesus name. Enjoy!
A detox requires you to cleanse your body from poisons and toxins you have consumed over time, before they cause serious harm to your health. What toxic things have you consumed spiritually? It may be time for a detox. We suggest the Word of God as a detoxifier and to build you back up. The Bible says in 1 Cor. 6:19, " Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" It's time for a Spiritual cleanse!
It seems hard to escape the news these days, but do we have to constantly listen to negative news? TURN IT OFF! Before long, all of this negative input starts to affect your peace of mind. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:5, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." When negative news turns into negative thoughts, we're to take it into captivity according to the word of God... Before it turns into anxiety. May God help us!
Whether you're listening to hymns or R&B, music has an understated influence on all of our lives. That is an undeniable fact. But, as an individual, are you taking inventory of how what you're listening to is affecting you? John 17:16 says, "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world." As the world is contending for our allegiance, we must be like the Bereans in Acts 17:10-11; Do not to become subject to listening to everything that comes our way and everything that we hear. This includes gospel songs that may not be biblical. "Oh be careful little ears what you hear..." May God help us to guard our ears and our hearts, in Jesus name! Be blessed as you listen.
In this episode, we discuss the "churchy things" people say, or the commonly used phrases among believers and church goers that have become the "lingo." Although many phrases are widely used, is there still meaning within them? Do we believe the things we are saying? Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." OUR WORDS HAVE CREATIVE POWER and can mean the difference between death and life. So, we need speak wisely, even when we're using church phrases and moreover in our daily language. May God give is the grace to do so, in Jesus' name. Be blessed as you listen.
You know you want a different standard of living, but you may not know how to accomplish that, especially in uncertain times. You need a great idea to lift you from your current circumstance, but how can you get a great idea? In this episode, we discuss and share examples to help access the ideas you need. Keep in mind, Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (KJV) Listen and may you be divinely inspired in Jesus name!
In this continuation of the Divinely Assisted Series, we're still examining patterns in life (related to our previous episode, "Is God Trying to Tell You Something?) We discuss the significance of generational patterns in our lives and encourage ourselves as well as you to be vigilant and to pay attention to how patterns are shaping our lives. Our ultimate recourse is to fight; With God, we can conquer and overcome negative generational patterns and promote the positive ones. We were not created to be mediocre, but to be great in the image of God, Himself, according to Genesis 1:26-27. Be blessed and and inspired to make a change!
In today's episode, we begin the Divinely Assisted Series. Our aim is to showcase the different ways that God is stretching out His arms and working out ways to help us through this life journey and in our christian walk. In this episode, we highlighted the patterns and seasons that God brings into our lives to start a conversation with us. We also mentioned patterns in families that shouldn't be ignored or taken as happenstance. You know, it takes two to tango. According to Amos 3:3, it says “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” We can only achieve the “expected end” that God has in His mind for us when we start paying close attention to the patterns and signals that He's been showing us. God will always do His part and He expects us to do our part with a high sense of responsibility as well. Listen and be absolutely blessed!
How would you know if you have a genuine friend instead of a foe? Have you thought of what you would do if you find yourself in a relationship with someone who is disingenuous, and does not have your best interests in heart? Matthew 5:44 says, "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." (NKJV) This is NOT EASY TO DO. In this episode, we discuss this topic of genuine relationships as a believer, which we all need! May God bless us with genuine relationships and give us the grace to be genuine others as well, in Jesus' name. Also, Hooray and Praise God for our 10th episode!! Thank you for listening!!
In *"due time" our prayers will become testimonies, in Jesus' name! Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." (KJV) In this verse, we see that God is able to bless us way above and far past our expectations, but we all get to points in our life where we are waiting... We even ask, where is that blessed thing that I've been praying for? When is it coming? In this episode, we discuss motives behind why we want those blessings and offer questions for reflection in those times when you're visualizing that long awaited blessing. *(1 Peter 5:6)
How far do you go to impress people? What are you doing to encourage or build others. In this episode we discuss the widely used term "peppa dem," in relation to the world's priorities vs God's priorities for believers. "For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10, NKJV) Be edified as you listen!
This is the ending episode in the life transition series that we've been airing. Whatever route God is taking you through to arrive at the peak of your career, be rest assured that all things are working together for your good according to Romans 8:28. In the agenda of God for every Believer and Lover of God, there are no mistakes. God is intentional and His ways are not our ways but we must be willing to follow Him closely in His ways. Take a listen and remain absolutely blessed!
Even though this is a YES or NO question, it has drawn out a variety of viewpoints from us as well as our listeners. In this episode, we are responding to a sampling of these comments as believers would respond. More questions were unearthed from this episode and we hope that you will be thoughtful and blessed as you listen, while keeping in mind Matthew 6:33: "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Shouldn't this be our final response?
What do you think? Of all the things God created us for, is being married the end of it all? In this episode, we touched on the idols and natural tendencies of singles that can be misleading and self sabotaging. We talked about the need for patience and obedience in single-hood as the Bible says “Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obedience to the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed [is better] than the fat of rams.” 2 Samuel 15:22. Take a listen and remain absolutely blessed!
We couldn't abstain from contributing to the ongoing dialogue surrounding the tragic, and untimely, passing of George Floyd, an African-American male who died 05/25/2020 as a result of excessive force while being detained by the police in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Floyd joins the long list of men of color who have gone same way before him. In 2020, during a world cataclysmic pandemic, hatred anger and evil persists to this degree. But, why is this still happening? In this episode, we discuss how the centuries-long, deep-seated hatred has an even deeper root. It says in Ephesians 6:12, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (KJV) We also highlight the importance of having an actionable response as opposed to falling into chaos.
This is the first of our Transition Series: from being worldly to being spiritually minded and centered in Christ. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 In this episode, we're encouraged to stay true to our profession of the word of God and to keep trusting in Him. We also touched on the mercy of God that prevails over all our mistakes and wrongdoings when we acknowledge and commit to not repeating the same mistakes again. Take a listen and be blessed!
In this episode, we're doing a part 2 revisiting the topic of isolation, but from a positive outlook. We discuss why it is necessary for everyone, especially believers, to take advantage of isolation periods, using biblical examples and including our personal revelations. Jesus self isolated, "when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone." (Matthew 14:23 KJV)
In this episode we share insight on how physical and spiritual isolation can lead to feeling depressed. We also examine the possible causes of depression from a spiritual perspective, referencing personal as well as biblical examples. We also incorporate healthy remedies to the issue, both from a the secular and biblical frame. Given the increase of mental health issues, we have to remember that the battle is against our mind, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood..." We have the FULL armor of God beat anything the enemy beings against us! (Ephesians 6:12-17)
In this episode, we talked about the importance of godly fellowship and how it makes us better in our walk with God. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Take a listen and be absolutely blessed!
