It's the 2019 Christmas Special. This was recorded after we saw The Rise Of Skywalker, I don't think it contains any spoilers or even discussion about the movie. We exchange presents and sing some Karaoke songs.
It's the day after we saw The Rise Of Skywalker. John's frustrated that there are many things in the film that don't really make sense...
John and Jude review and discuss the new film, the first ten minutes are spoiler free, but then we unleash the spoilers.
This episode features a staggering 18 minute off-topic cold-open intro. So if you don't have a sense of humour and hate hearing us talk about anything other than Star Wars jump to the 18 minute mark. This episode also contains some foul sexual imagery which may offend, so maybe don't bother about this one if you're THAT person? Join us on Thursday for the genital-warts-and-all expose review of the new movie.
John reviews the fifth episode of The Mandalorian, which sucked!
John and Jude get together to discuss Anthony Daniel's book, hear Jude's opinion on the Mandalorian, John begs you all to check out Nirvanna The Band The Show and hear about Jude's car crash! Loads more besides. Recorded in an incredibly noisy branch of Bill's. Thanks Bill's.

A steroid-pumped John has bounced back from a breif period of illness but Jude is burned out from being a Dad and pretend husband. The June weather is miserable, but we’re recording this episode outside The Griffin public house, in Shoreditch. We talk about the Women’s Football World Cup and Jude runs into an old colleague, who briefly joins us on the show. After a quick pint, we move to the peaceful surroundings of Mark Square where we discuss Rey’s origins and John pitches his idea for a groundbreaking form of transportation that could revolutionise the travel industry. We’ve also got updates on Weird Paul and Richard Herring’s Richard E Grant interview!
John and Jude discuss Galaxy's Edge among other things. This week's show was recorded in a noisy pub and at the end we go for a bit of a walk in search of food. Quite enjoyed the walk, maybe we'll record a whole show on the move like this?
Vanity Fair have released a huge behind-the-scenes look at The Rise Of Skywalker, in which they feature some glorious photos of the cast and characters, confirm a few names of people and planets. We pour over the pics and speculate as to the direction this final chapter will take.Tickets for Blah Wars LIVE 2 are here: https://www.tickettext.co.uk/blah-wars/blah-wars-live-27072019/ Blah Wars Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/blahwars Vanity Fair Photos: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2019/05/star-wars-cover-story?verso=true
The great 'gentle giant' Peter Mayhew has passed away. Harrison Ford put it very eloquently, but how did Jude react to the news? Find out in this week's episode. Also discussed: three new star wars films annouced for 2022, 2024 and 2026, is Matt Smith in Episode 9 at all, what is happening with Rian Johnson's Star Wars trilogy, some folks have recreated the lightsaber duel from A New Hope, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Game of Thrones and boners. Back on the rooftop of our favourite pub, with what sounds like a gas leak in background. We have a big announcement to make and John's had a nasty fall. Jude provides an interesting theory behind the Emperor's supposed return. We go back over the Wish products we discussed in Blah Wars 75 and give the best suggestions as to their purpose. Then we go through the photo and autograph prices from celebration to see whether Jude can correctly put the price to the name. Jude shares a laundry story, John shares one about contraband antiques. There's also a spoiler-filled discussion about The Avengers: Endgame. Blah Wars LIVE is coming back to London on Saturday 27th July, the London Film and Comic Con weekend. Tickets are just £5 and on sale now. https://www.tickettext.co.uk/blah-wars/blah-wars-live-27072019/ Please come, we'd love to see you there! John and Jude are recording this week's episode from the rooftop of an East London pub. We round-up the big celebration news: particularly that Mandolorian panel. John's been to visit a Star Wars location; Puzzlewood in Gloucestershire, aka the forests of Takodana, as seen in The Force Awakens. He's also been to Bath and has a fiendish idea regarding the Roman Baths. John and Jude reform to discuss the Episode IX trailer and the film’s finally revealed trailer. We also have some catching up to do, including John’s exchange with Richard E Grant at a recent recording of Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (this episode will be available on YouTube later this year), the fact that we are both working together again and therefore able to record more shows. We also return to the subject of the “Wish” sponsored advertisements we keep seeing on our Instagram feeds, and the bizarre products we are being targeted with (see Blah Wars #56 for more on this). This episode was recorded in an Oxfordshire pub, early on a Saturday using handheld recorders. We didn’t know at the time but there was a great deal of digital audio interference from our mobile phones throughout the show. In addition to this, you’ll also hear clinks, chinks, glass being smashed, and the ever increasing sound of a pub as it fills with hungry people. Never the less, we hope you enjoy it. In addition to this, a further 18 minutes of conversation was recorded and uploaded to our Patreon
With the news that Episode IX has wrapped principal photography, Blah Wars too is coming to an end of sorts. This will be the last regular episode for the foreseeable future. Please stay tuned for occasional episodes covering major announcements in the approach to Star Wars: Episode IX. In this episode, John shares his feelings about the show coming to an end, introduces you to some other podcasts worth listening to and gives advice on how to produce and market your own podcast, something he's frequently asked about by listeners. This episode marks the return of Blah Wars in its regular weekly format and Jude is back too. John and Jude examine the recently leaked production photos from Episode IX (contains very minor spoilers / casting reveals). We also debut John's "Bring Blah Wars to Africa" song. Subjects also up for discussion this week include the work of Tommy Wiseau's The Room, potential titles for Episode IX plus cryptic tweets from Anthony Daniels and what they might mean.
Join John on a thoughtful woodland walk as he muses the problem of fake news, the trouble with social media, that Darth Vader fan film, learning to drive, bonfires, Withnail and I, anticipation for Star Wars Episode IX and his hopes for The Mandalorian.
In our first show of 2019, we discuss what we're looking forward to in the year ahead, talk about the possibilities of drone flying, review Mary Poppins Returns and welcome Jude's new baby to the show, literally. Patreon subscribers can watch this episode as a video, become a Patreon subscriber now by visiting patreon.com/blahwars
It's the TV premiere of The Force Awakens. John presents a live watch-along video broadcast on YouTube, with a healthy audience of regular listeners chatting away and everything. The video has been taken down on copyright grounds, sadly, however, here is the audio of the whole thing, more or less. Advert breaks have been edited out and the overall sound quality is not great. One for the completists? The video will be available to our Patreon subscribers at some point soon.
Bradie and Raj join us for our 2018 Christmas Special. This episode is also available to watch, by becoming a patreon subscriber. VIP subscribers can also get their hands on a bonus episode of Blah Wars, which we recorded right after this one.
John sits down with Greyson Marcotte, aka of The Sleeping Giant Podcast and known to many of our listeners as @sgcardsandtoys The two discuss the nature of their love for Star Wars, how to discriminate when it comes to collecting, action figures, trading cards, Greyson's wife Maggie who is a sketch card artist for Topps (Check her out @maggie_ransom) and much more besides. This episode contains some discussion about the most recent season of The Walking Dead. Massive thanks to Greyson for sitting in for Jude this week. You can listen to his show here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sleeping-giant-podcast/id1312423920?mt=2 and here https://soundcloud.com/tsgpOn Friday night we recorded our Christmas special, which is out on Sunday 23rd December for the general public. Patreon subscribers will be able to listen and even watch the Christmas episode from Monday 17th December. Our third episode of Blah Wars: Monthly Payload will be released on 23rd December for Patreon VIP subscribers too!
John is getting ready for his first ever meat-free Christmas. Jude is having a nightmare with his mobile phone coverage or lack off. On the show this week we discuss Galaxy of Adventures, Disney's latest 'high octane blast' of animated shorts 'for the entire family' and the dangers of introducing your children to Star Wars from a very young age. John lays into Total Film magazine for touting clickbait. Kevin Smith has been and seen the set for Episode 9, but has he stopped talking about how much weight he's lost? Star Wars collectors were treated this week to a Parka coat from Columbia Sportswear, a replica of those worn by the Empire Strikes Back crew when they were shooting in Norway. A $500 a go, whose wearing that? Plus there's news from Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Jude opens up about childhood fears, mostly about the Elephant Man and The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Next week, its the Blah Wars Christmas Special. We want to hear your Christmas memories, so get in touch with us via blahwarspodcast@gmail.com
Jude has a really bad cold, so we're recording this week's episode from our separate homes. We start off with our reactions to Blah Wars LIVE! and John's been experiencing Star Wars in strange new ways thanks to the magic of Surround Sound. You've probably heard rumours of George Lucas directing a Kenobi stand alone movie? We explain why these are doing the rounds once again and why they shouldn't be believed. We also discuss the feasibility of visiting America, share some merchandise ideas we've been asked about, even have a little rant about negative feedback. While talking about Galaxy of Adventures, the new series of animated Star Wars shorts, Jude talks about the problems with getting his son to watch Star Wars cartoons and why children in general are becoming harder to please. In other news the November episode of Blah Wars: Monthly Payload is available now to VIP subscribers from patreon.com/blahwars
Coming at you live from the Birmingham NEC, John sits in on a press conference with veteran Star Wars actors Ken Colley (Admiral Piett), Michael Culver (Captain Needa), Michael Pennington (Moff Jejerrod) and the great Julian Glover (General Veers / Walter Donovan in Indiana Jones and the last crusade / countless other Sci-Fi and fantasy). John also chats all things cosplay with cosplayers Liv Taylor & Leigh Hawker. Massive thanks to David at MCM Comic Con for letting us use the press conference room for some of this show and a huge thanks also to Annie Byrne for the press pass.
Our first chaotic live episode, recorded at 2Northdown, London. John and Jude have just come from seeing A New Hope at the Royal Albert Hall the night before and you’ll hear about the people sat around us, Jude’s disappointment at the musical gaps in the movie and our pathetic attempts at self-promotion. John is convinced Mark Hamill has been cast in The Walking Dead, and he’s got evidence to prove it. You heard it here first! With very little Star Wars news to cover Jude shares his pants in the face story and you’ll also hear about the worst thing John has ever done. We’ve got lots of prizes to give away, so Jude was joined on stage by audience member and legendary cosplayer Leigh Hawker for a round of Who Wants To Win A Million Credits. In the second half of the show, were joined by Bradie and Raj for a look at Raj’s Star Wars amateur dramatics and we provide a commentary over the highlights from the Star Wars Holiday Special. Thank you to everyone who travelled so far to join us at this live show, we had the most incredible time and it was a pleasure to meet so many of you after the show. We recorded the audio from two sources, one straight from the sound desk and one capturing the ambience of the room. Massive thanks to Sam and everyone at 2Northdown for their amazing support and production assistance.
How was spin off film, Rogue One saved and who was responsible, what was the story behind Anakin Skywalker's immaculate conception and is VR the future of cinema? These are the main talking points on the latest episode of Blah Wars.
On this week's show, we share the sad news that John Williams has been hospitalised, forcing him to cancel a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. There's also been some news of theft from the Mandalorian set in Manhattan. What was taken and will this get leaked online? The main talking point this week is our vision for an Open-world Star Wars video game in the style of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series. Aside from these, we also discuss Jude's obsession with ASMR, follow up on last week's Mike Zeroh rant with some startling revelations about his influence on the press, play a a few rounds of Star Wars 'Who Am I?', even reveal the first records we bought. We've also recorded the first of our Monthly Payload episodes which are only available to our Patreon subscribers. Head to patreon.com/blahwars for more information on how to get these extra episodes and unlock other bonus content.
In the X-Wing cross-heirs this week, youtuber and professional liar; Mike Zeroh, the art and consequences of trolling, Jude's Return of the Jedi rant, the visual storytelling of Star Wars and Chuck Wendig gets the sack. All that and more on the latest episode of Blah Wars.
John and Jude discuss Jon Favreau's live-action Star Wars TV series, the Mandalorian. We also manage to talk about Back to the Future part 3 (someone says Western, Jude's only frame of reference is Back to the Future part 3). If you would like to support Blah Wars in exchange for some nice benefits, visit http://patreon.com/blahwars for more informaton on our tiers.

On this week's show we mostly discussed the work of Gary Kurtz, producer of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, who passed away on 23rd September and friend of the show Raj Rajendran joins to talk about the Star Wars exhibition at Legoland Windsor.
John's pitches his idea for an Alderaan Trilogy to run in parallel with the Original and Sequel trilogies, plus we answer questions sent in by our listeners. Thanks to everyone who sent a question in, sorry if were not able to answer yours.
