I spoke  to iconic Irish artist and songwriter Perry Blake who released his latest album called "Death Of A Society Girl" on Moochin' About Records. This album features  Paul McGann, best known for his roles in BBC's "Doctor Who'", "Withnail & I'"  "Empire of the Sun'", '"Alien 3'" and "Queen of the Damned ."This album also marks 26 years for Blake as a recording artist. It's also his first music in five years, following the critically acclaimed ‘Songs of Praise' (5 Stars MOJO). Hailing from Sligo county, Perry Blake has been dubbed one of music's great untapped resources. Polydor UK released his debut album ‘Perry Blake' in 1998 (with three singles chosen as 'Singles of the Week' on Jo Wiley BBC Radio 1). After which he moved to France. He achieved cult status there and across Europe, releasing a string of critically-acclaimed studio albums, a live album recorded at Cirque Royal Brussels with a full orchestra, as well as the soundtracks for ‘Presque Rien' and 'Trois Petites Filles'.The "Death of a Society Girl'" album was co-written and co-produced with long-term collaborator Graham Murphy (Clannad, Sharon Shannon, Marie Brennan). Shat the Movies: 80's & 90's Best Film Review

Celebrate Gene! When listener Mike T. heard Shat The Movies desperately wanted to cover "Withnail and I," he stepped up with the funds to make it happen.  On its surface, "Withnail and I" is a simple movie about two out-of-work actors navigating the bleak landscape of 1960s England. Big D didn't realize it was the 1960s; he just thought England looks like that. But this cult classic inspired millions—including Gene Lyons—with its sharp wit, unforgettable quotes and rich character study. In this episode, the Shat Crew dissects the film's themes of friendship, disillusionment and the struggle for identity, all while celebrating the iconic performances of Richard E. Grant and Paul McGann.  Subscribe Now Android: https://www.shatpod.com/android Apple/iTunes: https://www.shatpod.com/apple Help Support the Podcast Contact Us: https://www.shatpod.com/contact Commission Movie: https://www.shatpod.com/support Support with Paypal: https://www.shatpod.com/paypal Support With Venmo: https://www.shatpod.com/venmo Shop Merchandise: https://www.shatpod.com/shop Theme Song - Die Hard by Guyz Nite: https://www.facebook.com/guyznite
