In Luke 24 we have an account of two men who walked with Jesus on a journey and didn't even know it was him. I believe that this is picture of most of the church, we are on a journey with God but we don't even really know him. This is what hinders us from receiving God's promises, we don't know him enough to trust him. Dont let your life end and then realize that you served a God you didn't know, and because of this you missed out on his endless promises.

When we see God for who he really is, we will receive from the expanse of God's goodness and grace.
