A true crime, paranormal, and other weird s**t podcast.
Hi friends! It's been a while but your girls are back and better than ever! Well.... we're back at least and we've missed you all. Do you want to hear about Sandy needing more friends and how Sarah eats her chicken nuggets? Then dive on in! But if you want to skip that, we start the stories at 9:50. Sandy's Corner kicks it off with a Laci Peterson update. Caity is up next with the murder of Peter Porco and attempted murder of his wife Jean. Today we truly do cover some dark content that includes the sexual abuse of minors, so it won't hurt Sarah's feelings if you decide to skip this one. She shares with us the awful story of Fred and Rosemary West. Yeah. It's that bad.
This week we talk forever and ever and don't start talking crime until minute 10 but make sure to listen to the whole shebang if you're a Patreon donor for an important message. We kick off this week's episode with a new segment: Sandy's Corner. This week on SC, Sandy chats about her thoughts on the new Night Stalker documentary on Netflix. Sarah follows up with the titillating tale of Agatha Christie and her dramatic disappearance in 1926. Caity wraps up the episode with the twist filled case of Mary Louise Day.Be sure to check out Thru The Cracks Jewelry and use our code REP15 for 15% off
On this episode, our intro gets a little political (how could it not?) as the girls talk about what the last few weeks have looked like for them. If you'd like to skip to the stories, they begin at 8:11. Caity covers some weird happenings in Oakville, Washington, where still unidentified blobs rained down on the small town in 1994. Sandy delves into the story of Mercy Brown: American Vampire. We did get distracted halfway through it and talk about finding out Santa isn't real and how we learned about sex... sorry. Sarah wraps it up with the story of Viktoria Nasyrova, a woman who poisoned her lookalike to steal her identity.
major content warning for rape and sexual abuse of minors Oh, hello there. This week the girls shout out a super cool and spooky youtube show called South of Strange hosted by their super cool friend, Felipe. Then it gets really dark... Sarah decided we all needed the story of serial killer and rapist Peewee Gaskins to live rent free in our heads. Caity needed something a little lighter, so she chose the attempted murder of Jennifer Morey (trust us, it's way lighter by comparison). Stories begin at 7:54 but we were pretty chatty throughout the episode.
In this super spooky crossover episode, the gals host some new friends! Alli and Kathryn from The Creepover join us for some scary stories. Alli tells us a personal story that might keep you from ever babysitting again. Kathyrn shares the history and hauntings of the Pittock Mansion, a boo-tiful house on a hill in Oregon. Caity dives into the case of the man who killed Halloween (also known as The Candy Man), Ronald Clark O'Bryan. Sarah ends the show with another, much darker, babysitting crime, the still unsolved murder of Janett Christman.
Have you ever wanted to go to a super creepy sleepover? Well your wish just (kind of) came true! We join the hosts of The Creepover podcast on their show and share our spooky experiences, some of our favorite stories, and laugh so hard that Caity cried. Our episode featuring these delightful creeps will be up next. Don't forget your flashlight!
Are you ready for an out of this world episode? We sure hope so. On this themed episode, Caity and Sarah put on their ufologist hats and talk about alien abductions. Where do they come from? Do they wish us harm? Are they actually just flirting with us? We don't know but probably. Sarah tells us about the Allagash Waterway Abductions and Caity details the Travis Walton Abduction.
Sandy made her long awaited comeback this week and the editing for the intro is a little rough because we were just too excited. Stories start at 9:10. Caity comes to us this week with a one of Germany's most brutal unsolved multiple murders. Sarah brings us another gruesome story from Japan and this one is not for the faint of heart. Sandy is along for the ride and brings us some delightful commentary throughout.
This week, Sarah kicks off her story with a quiz and, SUPRISE, BTK does not stand for "booty is killer". She will tell you what it does stand for though. Trigger warning for rape and animal abuse in this one, friends. Caity tells us the tale of the Greenbrier Ghost, a special spector who helped solve her own murder!
Hello, again! This week, we had to catch you up on our lives during the pandemic. If you just want to hear the horrible stories we tell, skip ahead to 12:05. Caity tells us about the Yuba County 5 (also known as the American Dyatlov Pass Incident). These men disappeared one winter evening and the story that unfolds still has no answers. Sarah goes international with her case. Issei Sagawa, AKA the Kobe Cannibal, is a not a story for those with weak stomachs.
After a way too long hiatus, Caity and Sarah are back with a themed vengeance. Unfortunately, if you're here for otter content, this will be a disappointment. This week, Sarah tells us the story of Shirley Duguay and how a friendly feline helped solve her murder. Caity dives on in with a tale of sharks, murder, and a man with a very hard head.
In this exhaustion fueled episode, ya girls make a lot of inside jokes with no explanation, search for the Jonas Brothers on Tinder, and eventually talk about some weird happenings. Caity shares the story of the ghost blimp which means that you also get a brief history of zeppelins. Sarah flexes those psych skills and dives into the brain magic that is Pareidolia. This is a shorter episode so Caity left in more of the banter that she usually cuts. Enjoy, friends!
Your friends “Prison Break” Sarah and “Oh My God I Hate the Warrens” Caity are back again to tell you some truly awful stories! Sarah shares the heartbreaking and truly infuriating case of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old who was murdered on Mischief Night and whose killer is still free. Caity decided to do a few shallow dives into some of the artifacts in the Warren Museum. If you don’t want to hear all about Sarah and Caity being absolute monsters, please skip to 7:03
Hi, friends! It’s been a while, huh? Well, we’re back and weirder than ever. Our chattiness at the beginning goes a little long as we catch you up with our lives. For those that don’t care about our personal lives, we get it, and please skip to the 9.30 mark. This week, “very weird baby number 1” Sarah tells us about the super messed up Milgram experiment and some other cool psychology stuff. “Very weird baby number 2” Caity goes into the disappearance of Sneha Philip. Sarah also drinks out of a measuring cup during this entire episode because she’s an absolute monster.
It’s a theme week! This time, your hosts (sans Sarah) jump into crimes that inspired the creation of laws. Sandy tells us the heartbreaking story of Candace Newmaker, a child who had a rough start in life and was killed during a controversial rebirthing session. Caity covers the widely publicized murder of Caylee Anthony and the creation of laws that make not reporting the death or disappearance of a child a felony.
What is this podcast really about? If you guessed Celine Dion, church camp, and 3 grandmas who don’t understand technology, you’d be correct! It’s also about true crime and the paranormal… sometimes. This week Caity tells us about the odd days leading up to the disappearance of Maura Murray. Sarah shares about some spooky haunted schools to celebrate the end of summer. Sandy takes us way back to the kidnapping of Charley Ross, the first abduction for ransom in the U.S.
Have we mentioned that technology hates us? Because it does. This episode features weird sound levels and random mic dropouts and we apologize. Sarah covers Ahmad Suradji, an Indonesian wizard who needed the spit of at least 70 women because his ghost daddy told him so in a dream once. Yeah. It’s a doozy. Sandy breaks out some spooky creepypasta stories for her segment. Caity dives into the strange circumstances around the death of Morgan Ingram.
Who exactly do you complain to when a ghost bites you in a graveyard? How determined would you be to use up all of your minutes? Literally what the heck is going on in Edinburgh? We don't have the answers to any of these questions, but we sure talk about them in this weeks episode! Sarah covers the story of Charles Peck, a man who died in a train accident but still kept calling loved ones. Sandy shares the story of Annie Borjesson, a woman who died under mysterious circumstances. Caity gets historical and tells us about Greyfriar's Kirkyard and its dark past.
Guys. We’re all over the place this episode. We plan our weddings, we discuss where we left our spanx, and eventually, we cover some newlywed crimes. Caity shares a sordid story of new spouses Michael and Dalia Dippolito. Sandy tells us about the murder of Lisa Weaver, a woman killed on Christmas Eve by her new husband, Matthew Soloman. Sarah jumps into the twisted tale of Jordan Linn Graham, a woman who got cold feet and decided that the best way to warm them up was by killing her new husband, Cody Johnson.
This week, Heather, Jessica, and Bethany bring us a truly terrifying and totally tubular episode. Sarah paints a picture of 80’s themed horror as she delves into the story of The Montauk Project. Caity covers Belle Gunness, a black widow who just loved those insurance payouts. You can also tell that Caity has been consuming a lot of Minnesotan media (thanks, Wine and Crime gals). Sandy dives into slaughterhouse queen, Katherine Knight, the first Australian woman to be sentenced to life without parole for the brutal murder and dismemberment of her partner, John Price. She also slept with her prized knives above her bed because of course she did.
Things we learned in episode 50: Amanda Bynes never cared about you. If you’re going to cheat, be smart… or be a Kennedy. None of us actually remember the Fresh Prince theme song. Lonely hearts columns were the only way to find love and/or magicians before Tinder. This week we celebrate 50 episodes with stories that relate to 50. Sarah kicks it off with the story of Ted Kennedy and the Chappaquiddick incident. Sandy returns to us with the recently solved murder of Jane Britton. Caity ends our episode with Nannie Doss, the giggling granny who loved Lonely Hearts columns almost as much as she loved murder.
Welcome to episode 49! This week, Caity kicks it off with a spooky tale of a murder that might have been the work of demons. Sarah tells us about the arson at the UpStairs Lounge, a gay bar that was burned down and took the lives of 32 people in the early years of Pride. We hope you enjoy the new theme song that Sarah made for the Warrens and don’t forget to slide into her DMs with your star signs.
Everyone needs a good skincare routine but please don’t take advice from the woman in Sarah’s story. The blood of children is not a good moisturizer. Though we are curious about how Elizabeth Bathory’s skin felt at the end of her life. Sarah also tells us about a weird troll movie and if Caity had to hear about it, so do you. Caity continues this “Crimes that Inspired Movies” themed episode with the events that inspired The Changeling: the disappearance of Walter Collins and the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders.
This episode kicks off with Caity messing up. She deleted a clip discussing the weird dream where she was impregnated with alien triplets that is referenced a few times in the episode. Nugget also decides to make a few appearances because he needs to be heard. Caity delves into the history and ghosts of the hotel that inspired The Shining, The Stanley. Sarah takes us on an adventure to the Loch Ness and the monster that might live in its depths. We love Nessie, y’all.
Well, well, well. What do we have here? A bunch of odd stories for you, that’s what! Sarah kicks it off with the story of Dan White, a man who murdered two men that he worked with and blamed it all on twinkie induced depression. Caity gives us a trio of twin tales that include murder, mayhem, and some almost creepy coincidences.
In episode 45, Caity puts on her conspiracy cap and dives into the Denver International Airport and the wide variety of theories that surround it. Is it a New World Order meeting place? Does its artwork depict the end of days to come? Does it house our reptilian overlords? No. But you'll learn all about why people think it does. Sarah goes over the last 24 hours of a death row inmate, discusses some quippy last words, and details a few choice last meals. What would you pick?
Hello, again! We’re back with episode 44 and this one is a cannibal-themed doozy! Sarah regales us with the story of Armin Meiwes and his willing victim, Bernd Jurgen Brandes. The pair spent a horrific evening together that ended with Brandes being the main dish. Caity thought you might enjoy a tale about a grannibal. Leonarda Cianciulli would do anything for her son, including murdering innocent townsfolk and serving them in lovely tea cakes to all of her friends. Is there a theme you'd like to hear? Let us know at darkestcornerspod@gmail.com
Summertime is almost here and we couldn’t be more excited! To get you beach ready, and by ready, I mean scared, Sarah tells some super scary stories from the deep blue sea. Divers and ships and ladies, oh, my! Caity talks about James Dean and the car that killed him. Was it cursed? Yes. Yes, it was.
Are you ready for a spooky episode? We hope so because Caity and Sarah both picked the paranormal this week! Sarah shares the story of Victoria’s Black Swan Inn, a local haunt with a long and tragic history. Caity tells us about the Spiritualism movement and the sisters at the center of it all. Sarah also sings a song that helped her pass eight grade history. You don’t want to miss it.
Do you like ghost stories? Sarah sure doesn’t but the paranormal was how she decided to kick off her first story! In this episode, Caity goes over the life of Diane Downs, a woman who did some terrible things for love even though absolutely no one asked her to. Sarah jumps in with the Winchester Mystery House and the woman who built it for decades (who also happens to be named Sarah).
Welcome back! Episode 40 means that it’s time for another theme. This week, we chose nurses who kill and it is a doozy. The story starts at around 7:30 for those of you who don’t like the chatter and want to miss out on us yelling Casarndy (our celebrity couple name) at each other. Caity brings us the story of Jolly Jane Toppan, a nurse who really hated old people. Sandy tells a tale from right here in San Antonio. Genene Jones was a nurse who preyed on the young and killed or injured at least 47 children. Sandy will be taking a small break from the pod, so tune in next week to hear Sarah tell a story!
Welcome to episode 39! Today we have an interesting mix of both true crime and weird stuff! Sandy kicks it off with the tragic murder of Laci Peterson and her unborn son, Conner. Caity tells us about D.B. Cooper and how he got away with hijacking a plane and led the FBI on one of their longest, and still unsolved, cases. Next week is a themed episode and the girls are always open to suggestions. Send them over to darkestcornerspod@gmail.com.
Do you want to hear some really awful stories? Then you’re in the right place! Episode 38 is full of sad, awful things. Sandy tells us about Abraham Shakespeare, a man who won the lottery and was murdered for his riches. Caity talks about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, a British toddler who was on vacation with her family when she vanished from their unlocked apartment as her parents and their friends enjoyed tapas 300 feet away. What do you want to hear about next? Let us know at darkestcornerspod@gmail.com.
In episode 37, things get crazy. Caity’s mom, Miss Suzy, was in town and was tricked into being on the show for an impromptu interview (which is also why the sound is all kinds of different levels). Miss Suzy has personal experiences with Caity’s topic: ghost lights. She spent part of her youth living on a ranch near the Marfa Mystery Lights! What are they? Who knows! Sandy tells us about the bystander effect and the murder of Kitty Genovese that inspired both the research into it and our emergency operating system. You’ll also hear Miss Suzy creating lovely patio garden in the background, Caity trying to sound out weird words, and Sandy’s tale of baby feet at Target. What more could you want?
This week, ya girls picked the theme “killers who kept the bodies or body parts” and then almost instantly regretted that decision. Sandy talks about Charles Albright and his obsession with ojos and then she leaves to attend to the good boy Dante. Caity tells us about John Christie, a man with too much room under his floorboards. Sarah is mostly just horrified. We’ll be taking a week off, so please send us an email at darkestcornerspod@gmail.com and tell us what you want to hear about in episode 37!
To celebrate hitting 7,000 downloads (and because this was too good not to share) here is a snippet from our first Patreon series! Enjoy this super horrifying tale from Georgia and maybe get rid of those old Cabbage Patch dolls....
Curses and murders and shoutouts, oh my! In episode 35, Caity covers the curse of the Hope Diamond and the many people it has brought poverty, tragedy, and possibly even death to (and Sandy falls asleep). Sandy covers the murder/suicide case of Chris Benoit. Sarah gives some shoutouts and offers bribery for nice emails/reviews. What more could you want?
Oh, hello there! Today, we bring you an episode about some crazy murders. Sarah comes back to the podcast with stories about boyfriends, with weird accents that she 100% made up, shopping for Valentine’s Day. Sandy takes us way back to 1919 with the murder of Bella Wright and a mysterious man on a green bike. Caity tells us about the tragic murder of young mother Janet Abaroa and the contact lenses that solved her cold case.
After a small hiatus due to sickness, most of the Darkest Corners Podcast team is back to tell you horrible stories that will make you sad. Sandy tells us about an Earth Day cofounder, Ira Einhorn, and his victim, Holly Maddux. Caity delves into the strange deaths of Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremer on a mountain side in Panama. Stay healthy, friends!
Sarah is back! Also, we talk about murders. Well, one murder and one possible murder. Caity also learns why her mom never liked Christopher Walken. We tackle a case of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy that lead to Gypsy Rose Blanchard planning her mother’s murder. Sandy discusses the still open case of Natalie Wood and her strange death by drowning, possibly at the hands of someone she loved. We also chat about New Year’s resolutions, Nugget’s baby, and then get really quiet at the end because we were sad. Enjoy!
In the first episode of 2019, Caity and Sandy talk about some weird stuff. Alien abductions and mysterious men dying on beaches are the topics of choice, and, boy, do things get strange. There is also a ton of us getting distracted by pretty much everything. We hope that you enjoy these odd tales!
Hello, again! This week, Caity scares us with 3 tales of murders committed in rooms that are locked up tight but only the dead are inside and Sandy horrifies us with a crime that involves antifreeze, a turkey baster, and two dead husbands. We would like to thank you once again for all of your love and support and can’t wait to keep telling you about the darkest corners of the world in 2019! Happy New Year, friends.
Today the ladies present to you a late Christmas present with episode 29! Sandy discusses the gruesome murder of Helle Nielson Craft at the hands of her husband and Caity opens old wounds as she once again brings up the Warrens. Sarah has been abducted by aliens (well, retail) and will be back with us soon. We also chat about our auras, sky people/flight attendants, and slowly sniffle our way through an endless allergy season.
In today’s holiday themed episode, Sarah is missing, Caity gets angry, and Sandy takes a small nap. We also discuss the murders of Alma Ortega, a victim of domestic violence, and Jonbenet Ramsey, possibly one of the most discussed murders in modern history. Caity would like to apologize for the sound quality in advance because she’s a mess and this sound is a mess and it’s all a mess.
Oh. Hello. We didn't see you there. (Because we're not the government official watching you through your camera). Well, since you're here, why don't you listen to us talk about Asha Degree, a little girl who packed her bag, and never returned home, and Suzanne Jovin's brain-scratching cold case. Yay! Go buy some merch, you'll look super sexy.
Have you ever been poaching on someone's land in the 1940's and you find a dead body in a tree? I hate when that happens. But it did happen. And we're talking about it today. We also wanted to talk to you about The Robison Family Murders AKA The Good Hart Murders, because we wanted to depress you with a cold case. You're welcome.
Y'all like listening to us ramble about absolute nonsense and then talk about reincarnation? Because that's what happens when Sandy isn't here...
2/3 of The Darkest Corners Podcast have studied abroad, and so we present to you famous murders committed in New Zealand and Italy. From New Zealand we have the confounding case of The Bain Family Murders. Who was the true murderer? From Italy, we delve into the murder of Meredith Kercher. Was Amanda Knox innocent after all? Remember kids, don't forget to flush when you're escaping a crime scene, and that normal sexually active people don't just kill their roommates. Lilia Tarawa's TedTalk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS7mBbXxJYA
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This will be the last of our Halloween Spooktacular mini-episodes, but that doesn't mean that they won't come back. ;) This week the ladies discuss bordellos, broth, ghosts, and girls. And basically everything in between. Enjoy!
The Iroquois Theater Fire-This is why we should have real doors, and not fake painted ones. Villisca Axe Murders-This is why we shouldn't bludgeon people to death. It's just bad manners.
On this week’s baby (or beebee as Caity says it) episode, Caity and Sandy tell you the tragic tale of the Landon Hotel. This story comes from Be Theatre’s Downtown Ghost Walks and is one of the favorites every year. Tickets are still available for the last weekend and you can snag yours at https://www.betheatre.com/ghost-walks-2018. Tell them that DCP sent you!
