One crash. One death. One of the most powerful names in American politics. This director's cut pulls no punches, unpacking the 1969 Chappaquiddick tragedy, where Senator Ted Kennedy's car went off a bridge, leaving Mary Jo Kopechne dead — and a country divided.

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, the Democrats lost the election last month because they turned their back on America. They don't care about the middle class or any class at that. The modern Democratic Party is hell-bent on destroying everything this country stands for—our borders, economy, military, and the rule of law. Their Marxist agenda is all about power, and they're willing to tear America apart to keep it. In addition, Hunter Biden's troubles are just the tip of the iceberg. Mark predicted months ago that Joe Biden would pardon his son, despite denying it time and time again. Now, after pardoning Hunter for gun and tax evasion charges, it's clear: Joe Biden is a liar and has been for his entire political career. He gets away with it because everyone around him lies too, his administration, the media, the politicians. Lastly, Democrats attack patriots like Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel for their past, yet they excuse Hunter's criminal actions due to his struggles with addiction. The Democrats have long been the party of scandals, Clinton, Kennedy, Chappaquiddick but now they're afraid of real patriots who stand for America? To top it all off, the illegal migrants who are convicted felons are still roaming the sanctuary cities, especially New York. Thanks to Biden, the MS-13 and Tren De Araguas will be roaming our streets for a long time until we can get rid of them. This hypocrisy is outrageous. Learn more about your ad choices.   Documentary Filmaker John Edginton Len first discovered John's documentaries, finding John's interview with Col. Fletcher Prouty. Intrigued, Len discovers John's library of interviews, including a BBC film on Martin Luther King. John started out as a journalist, worked as a print journalist in the early 80's, then got involved in TV. Worked on a TV series with a new television station in the UK, channel 4, promoting independence. John's big break as a filmmaker happened when in 1989 he interviewed James Earl Ray. James was in prison in East Tennessee at Brushy Mountain Prison near Knoxville. John wrote to James, asking permission from Ray to visit the prison & interview him. The prison & James agreed with the prison requesting that John not bring any recording devices. John was able to spend 4 hours interviewing James Earl Ray, without any security whatsoever. The more John talked to James he realized James was a patsy. John managed to persuade the BBC into helping fund the documentary with James Earl Ray. John & his colleague friend, researcher John Sergeant from the UK, toured the US for six months. John ended up meeting Fletcher Prouty and others during their intense tour recording interviews. Full interview with James Earl Ray Video Here At this time Dr. William Pepper was just beginning to be involved in James Earl Ray’s case. What extent was the government involved in the assassination of Martin Luther King? Col. Prouty was a wonderful source of information on deep state covert operations. Col. Fletcher Prouty interview Watch Video Here It took years for John to realize the value of his interview with Col. Fletcher Prouty. The BBC junked the documentary, but John had VHS copies he was able to recover. The documenatry "Who Killed Martin Luther King" Watch Here Len remembers watching John's documentary on Chappaquiddick when it was featured by Bill Kurtis. Everything that Col. Fletcher wrote in his book 'The Secret Team' was all about the deep state. David Ratcliffe interviewed Prouty for his book 'Understanding Special Operations'. Len was impressed seeing John's documentaries on Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, David Gilmour etc.. John's documentaries are unfiltered interviews, 'over coffee talk', completely unscripted. People told John that David Gilmour would never let him into his house, but he was fascinated by John. Len enjoys the long form interviews, that aren't rushed, similar of Joe Rogan's interview style. John has managed to capture many artists as they talked about their craft without censorship. Len found a great value in watching John's list of older interviews, including Genesis & Phil Collins! John recently found the Boiler Girl interview & uploaded it to his channel. Why did they never have an autopsy on Mary Joe Kopecky? People are really interested in all of the raw material. Kamala Harris recently had a 60 minute interview, but it was edited to 45 minutes. Why? When 'The Men Who Killed Kennedy' came out, it was a big deal, Len recalls watching the episodes. Fletcher Prouty was the 'authentic eyewitness' from inside the Pentagon. No contradictions. John recommends his 1996 HBO documentary 'Mumia Abu-Jamal: A Case for Reasonable Doubt?' Please visit John Edginton's Youtube Channel Part Two starts at 31:23 Ray McGuinnis - Author and researcher Ray's website Unanswered Questions has a number of articles about 911 & the 2022 Trucker’s Convoy. Ray attended the 2022 Trucker's Convoy hearings at Ottawa in mid July. Mid January 2022 the Canadian government implemented illegal vaccine mandates on truckers. If the truck drivers did not have their Covid vaccines, mandatory 10 days quarantine upon entry. A 10 day quarantine requirement would mean truckers could only work 2-3 days a month. Read a detailed & shortened version of the reviews on Jim's Stubstack. Before publishing Ask Not, why didn't Callaghan or Kelly invest in a professional fact checker? Why wouldn't Megyn Kelly try to verify Callaghan's claims BEFORE Callaghan's interview? Callaghan relies on disinfo books written on the Chappaquiddick event by Paul Burke & Leo Damore. Unfortunately, Ted Kennedy's first wife, Joan, was unable to curb her alcoholism. Jim disputes Callaghan's claim that Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo Kopechne. Ted Kennedy had never been to Chappaquiddick before July 18, 1969. Ted Kennedy rarely drove anywhere by himself, he was usually driven by a driver. Jim feels the accident was due to Ted Kennedy not knowing the Chappaquiddick roads or Dyke Bridge. On August 23, 1956 Jackie Kennedy gave birth to a premature baby girl, Arabella, who was stillborn. Although Arabella wasn't due for five weeks, Callaghan implies JFK was negligent by being absent. Diana de Vegh first wrote about her "affair" with JFK when he was a Senator, 60 years after the fact. Rosemary, daughter of Joseph & Mary Kennedy, born with mental health issues. In desperation, Joseph Kennedy gave approval to doctors to perform a frontal lobotomy on Rosemary. Jackie Kennedy was absent from the birthday fundraiser for JFK at Madison Gardens in NYC. Jackie wasn't fond of going to fundraising events, where she felt "for sale", asking people for money. Marilyn Monroe was just one of seventeen different entertainers at JFK's birthday fundraiser in 1962. Marilyn Monroe was married & divorced three times by age 35. Where is Callaghan's evidence that Marilyn was having an affair with JFK or RFK? How could JFK or RFK be responsible for Marilyn Monroe's death if they weren't with Marilyn? Jackie went to Europe with her sister, after the death of baby Patrick who died at just two days old. Jackie returned in time for JFK's trip to Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. I was thinking a lot about thrillers that I watched as a kid and how many of them stayed with me longer than more kid-friendly genres. It is probably because I found them confusing and it forced my kid-brain to work twice as hard trying to figure them out. On this week's episode, I wanted to look at some of these thrillers from the 70s and 80s that stuck with me after seeing them on cable TV. They were so evocative that years later I would purposefully seek them out to fill in the blanks.First up, we have "The Conversation" from 1974, directed by Francis Ford Coppola. This thriller stars Gene Hackman as Harry Caul, a surveillance expert who becomes paranoid after recording a mysterious conversation. Coppola wrote the script in the mid-1960s but couldn't get it made until after the success of "The Godfather"? So her directed it between that film and its sequel. Worth it alone for the sound design, it is groundbreaking, earning Walter Murch an Academy Award nomination.Next is "Marathon Man" from 1976, directed by John Schlesinger. This film features Dustin Hoffman as a graduate student who gets caught up in a conspiracy involving a former Nazi war criminal, played by Laurence Olivier. One of the most famous scenes involves Olivier's character using dental torture. It is not fun. Moving on, we have "Blow Out" from 1981, directed by Brian De Palma. This neo-noir thriller stars John Travolta as a sound effects technician who accidentally records evidence of a political assassination. De Palma was inspired by Michelangelo Antonioni's "Blow-Up" (1966) and the real-life Chappaquiddick incident. Like “The Conversation,” the film's complex sound design plays a crucial role in the storytelling, making it a tremendous audio-visual experience. Finally, we have "Body Heat" from 1981, directed by Lawrence Kasdan. This steamy thriller features William Hurt and Kathleen Turner in a story of lust, deception, and murder. Turner's amazing performance as the femme fatale made her an instant star. The film was heavily influenced by classic film noir, particularly "Double Indemnity," and it brought the noir genre into the modern era with its explicit content and stylish direction. That's it for this episode of the Video Store Podcast. I hope you enjoy these picks as much as I do. Each of these films offers something unique, whether it's groundbreaking sound design, gripping suspense, or unforgettable performances. Until next time I see you in the shop, remember, be kind rewind.Subscribe to the Video Store Podcast* The Video Store Podcast* Apple Podcast* RSS This is a public episode. Surely even approaching the curious case of Sweden, the ur-heimat of modernist-progressive excellence on earth, would cause him to burst into a purifying flame or at least hit against some angelic force field?Alas the carcass of Sweden, lit up by the muzzle-flashes of gang war executions, is filled with just the sort of juicy, overly ripe entrails that the mouldbug usually feasts on. A modern progressive-technocratic state built for and by middle managers in the 30s? Check! An empire-of-the-mind built on (seemingly protestant) virtue that seeks to save the world? Check!Deeply muddled past, not-nearly-forgotten imperial ambitions and a system crashed into whatever the Scandinavian version of the Chappaquiddick is by a vapid and corrupt elite? Triple check! We take a deep dive into the Myrdals — through lines of Swedish kings and into the dark corners of the souls (and graphs) of the prophet-Hans and Gretas of the north to discover a reality that is less a paradise on earth, and more dark social democratic mirror to the American empire. And upon this plain the two progressive juggernauts of the 20th century collide. While Yarvin might jeer at the Swedish quaintness in world affairs but knows that inside every Swedish soul lies the embers of High Lord Chancellor Oxenstierna, waiting for a stiff breeze.. Mike Rothmiller - Chappaquiddick The Killing Of Mary Jo KopechneEd is joined by former LA Detective Mike Rothmiller to discuss Ted Kennedy's biggest nightmare; the events surrounding the death of Mary Jo Kopechne. The Chappaquiddick incident occurred on Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts some time around midnight between July 18 and 19, 1969, when Senator Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy negligently drove his car off a narrow bridge, causing it to overturn in a tidal pond. This resulted in the drowning death of his 28-year-old passenger Mary Jo Kopechne, who was trapped inside the vehicle.Kennedy left a party on Chappaquiddick at 11:15p.m. Friday. He maintained that his intent was to immediately take Kopechne to a ferry landing and return to Edgartown, but that he accidentally made a wrong turn onto a dirt road leading to a one-lane bridge. After his car skidded off the bridge into Poucha Pond, Kennedy swam free, and maintained that he tried to rescue Kopechne from the submerged car, but that he could not. Kopechne's death could have happened any time between about 11:30p.m. Friday and 1a.m. Saturday, as an off-duty deputy sheriff stated he saw a car matching Kennedy's license plate at 12:40a.m. Kennedy left the scene and did not report the accident to police until after 10a.m. Saturday. Meanwhile, a diver recovered Kopechne's body from Kennedy's car shortly before 9a.m. Saturday. These events curtailed the Kennedy dynasty on a permanent basis; up until then it had seemed the illusion of Camelot was in his hands, but it lay shattered beyond repair.Mike discusses his research into the case, and his conclusions based on his experience as a detective and his investigation and research. And it's even more surprising than it sounds.Mike Rothmiller is a New York Times Bestselling author, historian, a former cop, and an Army medic. Over the course of his career, but mainly in a period from 1950-59, French director Robert Bresson kept a notebook of advice to himself on keeping his very distinct filmmaking technique. In 1975, he published Notes to the Cinematographer, which was then translated and published in the United States two years later. In 2011, a Sight & Sound poll of 51 critics named it the second best book on filmmaking. On this episode, I'm joined by editor Keith Fraase.Keith Fraase has edited such narratives features as To the Wonder, Knight of Cups, Song to Song, Chappaquiddick, and A Mouthful of Air, along with the documentaries Voyage of Time and Long Strange Trip. His most recent edited film, Celine Song's Past Lives, is one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2023.Robert Bresson's Notes on the Cinematographer is current published in the U.S. by the New York Review Book (under the translated title Notes on the Cinematograph).

Chappaquiddick: The Killing of Mary Jo KopechneThis is the complete FBI CHAPPAQUIDDICK file. Much of the hit movie is based on this file. These pages are in the same order as found in the file. It must be noted that the clear majority of Americans believe Edward Kennedy let Mary Jo drown to save himself and his political career. Most think he got away with killing her. As a former detective, I believe he got away with it. From Kennedy's delay in notifying police, his selective memory, his unbelievable testimony contained in these pages and the theatrical grand jury which only heard from 4 witnesses totaling 20 minutes of testimony before deciding not to indict. It's clear that since this occurred in the Kennedy's kingdom of Massachusetts, the fix was in. How much did it cost, we'll never know. All we do know is that Mary Jo did not receive justice. Edward Kennedy was convicted for leaving the scene of an accident with bodily injury. His penalty, two months in jail—but the sentence was suspended. In simple terms, he didn't spend a single day in jail for killing her. That is not justice. As you read the court testimony pay particular attention to Kennedy's highly scripted and dubious statements. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/1198501/advertisement
