This podcast is is to share the sound of Texas' underground electronic music Scene. We will feature our dj's mixes and tracks from time to time! Also we will post up archived radio shows and featured dj sets!
Episode 1 of 2014 gets the year started off with a rockin' set from Austin's Modern Discotheque, Machine. These 3 guys deliver that and then some as the place was rockin' from the moment they took the decks. The set goes into some groovy tunes and even drops a Disclosure tune to round out the vibe. A truly unforgettable night in San Antonio's underground dance music scene at our new favorite hangout, Southtown 101.
Kicking off the E:merge series with a BANG, Pezzner stops by on his latest tour to push his album "Last Night in Utopia". And what a night it is! The dancefloor erupted immediately with dancers battling back and forth, up and down, side to side. Hands, heart and soul in the air, E:merge and Pezzner had the entire city quaking and the epicenter was efusionradio's booming sound system at Southtown 101!
The main event of the evening is at hand. Joe Alfaro is a San Antonio Legend that can hardly be explained with words. Joe is affectionately referred to as "The Godfather of San Antonio House" by many of his peers and contemporaries. But the title is not just given, it is proven. Joe was once the man who provided an entire generation of DJs in San Antonio with their addiction, House Music. Those days have long since passed, but his legacy lives on with many of the djs in this podcast and many other dancers, friends and family who his music has touched at a subsonic level. It is only fitting that our final episode of the Subsonic series is the workings of the man himself, one of the writer's influences and many other's adored friend and beat provider: Joe Alfaro.
KeeQue and Abe Novy have held a residency in San Antonio that became somewhat of a legend in a short amount of time. The Half Shell Bar downtown San Antonio has been known for offering the best music around in any genre. Breaking the rules of any top 100 list, the Half Shell was known for being a place where people who were tired of being subjected to the same nightlife every weekend and wanted to experience something new and fresh. Subsonic was that. When the Half Shell was closed, Soul Family and Euphoric Fusion Radio were left looking for a place to hold their last Subsonic show. Unexpectedly the Limelight stepped up to the plate and a beautiful night of music ensued. This set is KeeQue warming up for the Godfather of San Antonio House, Joe Alfaro. That in itself was the means for a creation of a night of music that has left an imprint on San Antonio for many years to come. We hope you enjou this set as well as Joe Alfaro's set coming very soon!
Peak Hour has arrived! The culmination of the first major night of the First Annual Wreck The Decks is in full effect! Golf Clap is the brainchild of Detroit bad boys Bryan Jones and Hugh Cleal who need no introduction.Their debut single "Another Way" on Freeze Dried smashed the Traxsource charts hitting #1 in the singles, tracks and deep house charts simultaneously and their follow up single "On To You" on i Records is climbing the charts as we speak. With forthcoming material on Miguel Migs' Salted label and a European DJ tour lined up for the summer you should catch them while you can at their residency at Grasshopper Underground in Detroit where they play alongside acts like Huxley, Eats Everything, Kevin Saunderson, John Acquaviva and Ian Pooley to name a few.
Opening up for Golf Clap, F*ck Martinez (Paz Joaquin and Rudy Martinez) is a duo that individually is taking the house genre by storm and together are turning out sets all across San Antonio with a higher degree of funk. If the name doesn't let you know that these guys mean business, this mix will get you right up to speed real fast! Setting the stage for the headliners, F*ck Martinez have the floor full and primed for the Golf Clap explosion.
Next up to Wreck the Decks at Urban Coyotes is San Antonio veteran DJ, Chacho. Chacho has been jammin' San Antonio parties for years. Including his own nights called "House Yo Body" held at legendary Revolution Room. With Revolution Room going through some redesign, Chacho has moved his talents to the airwaves on a new radio station on the San Antonio dial.
After a long wait, but not without much anticipation, Euphoric Fusion Radio is finally releasing ALL of the sets from the Urban Coyotes show at The Korova featuring Golf Clap. This show was one of the two main features of a weeklong party called Wreck The Decks across the city of San Antonio. Each night, a different venue was featured with it's top local residents holding it down. This special night was started off with an Austin dj by the name of Lauren LaRose. Her set was the pacesetter for the entire night and really got it off perfectly. Showing lots of experience rocking shows in Austin with electricavenueatx, Lauren brought opened up with an unforgettable set that started the dancefloor moving early!.
Our Re/Groove resident Enrique Cortazar of Unscene Records takes the decks here to drop a funky, groovy, techy and minimal poolside set to groove through the afternoon. His set winds in and out of the groove as he blends, mixes and kills some of his own originals as well as his labelmate's tracks often. This set was the set up set for Noevol to take the decks that hot May afternoon as people worked their hangovers off in the pool.
A phenomenal set was on tap for this afternoon by the pool. Dustcity Music's own Noevol came out all the way from El Paso to give our poolside a hot afternoon treat! With tracks supported by Richie Hawtin, Noevol is no stranger to the underground scene. He puts together a seamless rolling bassline set through the afternoon to take the pool party into high gear. Absolutely perfect, Noevol recharges and "Re/Grooves" the pool party with some scorching beats.
Josh Granado steps up next on another hot afternoon in the South Texas sun to drop the groovy tunes in this next mix set. The aloft hotel is a great destination for summer swimming and cold drinks on one Sunday a month here in San Antonio when efusionradio and Unscene Records throw their Re/Groove pool party. Josh Granado's beats perfectly compliment the swanky vibe of the hotel as patrons take a cool dip and work off their hangovers with mimosas and margaritas.
The newest member of the efusionradio family spins his first seet at the aloft hotel for another summer of hot parties by the cool pool! This summer has a lot in store and K3vst3p (Kevin Castillo) sets the tone with his house groove. As the resident at the Raven Hookah Lounge "Effin Thursdays" in San Antonio, Kevin has a lot going on and promises for a bright future of spinning fresh tunes for Texas!
Finally, we get a full recording of one of San Antonio's best, and long time house mainstay in our wonderful city. Leonard Trujillo (DJ Rise) has played a few shows for us, but for whatever reason, the recordings never came out right. This time, we were lucky enough that the stars aligned and we captured one hell of a night. The pictures and video captured just don't do justice, but in those pictures, you can see lots of bodies blurred from motion, sweating and grooving to yet another magical set. That beautiful emotion is all captured here in this 2 hour set.
Fresh off his set opening for J Paul Getto the week prior with Big Rich, KeeQue stepped right back behind the decks to open for one of San Antonio's pioneers of the house music scene. But before giving the decks up, he delivers a deep house groove that escalates the night right into full swing. Moving from some fresh promos from a hot new duo called Golf Clap, all the way to a little more uptempo sound in an hour, KeeQue sets the groove as the floor starts to move.
And now it's time to turn over the decks to none other than J Paul Getto! THE MAIN EVENT! Tony Saputo and Maurice Tamraz come together in this set on 4 cdjs and 3 mixers to blend together all of their sounds seamlessly into this 2 hour mix set. The funk did not set the crowd free until the final beat faded! The hard disco and sometimes acid/garage type groove were booming throughout the Korova and resonating in the room full of house heads! For the first time ever in San Antonio, J Paul Getto leave it all out on the turntables!
MazChingon is no stranger to huge shows and definitely no stranger to this podcast. MazChingon is 4 turntables, 3 mixers, 2 djs and 1 "Chingon" sound that weaves in and out of different variations of the house music sound. Dropping samples, drum loops, parts of tracks, wholes of others, and lots of other surprises in between is how MazChingon work the crowd up to a full sweat. Constantly working through transitions, the intensity is thick and this set is the perfect lead in to the headliners of the night coming next!
Next up to the decks is one of Austin's hardest working DJs, none other than House Addict's founder, Mark Denim. Mark takes the party into the next level by swinging the jams into the disco territory. He grabs the dancefloor and greets the dancers with some bangers and works in and out of the groove. By this time, if you didn't realize you are about to be addicted to house, you probably needed to have your pulse checked! The night was still young, but the floor was filling up fast!
OK, OK, OK, OK we know we have taken too long to put another episode up, but you have to trust when we say that we want the best of the best up here on our iTunes account. So that being said, this party with none other than J Paul Getto brought to the surface some of the best music around right now and some that is yet to be released! This first set from the night is from a guy who back in the early days of the Austin underground was way ahead of the times. Still, to this day, his set is forward thinking and timeless. Welcome back to the decks, (and to Texas, as he has been in Chicago for a bit) none other than Seville. This set starts the night off perfectly and got the first bit of dancing going from the opening downbeat.
Doc Martin now takes to the decks. Not 2 decks. Not 3 decks. 4 decks! 2 CDJ2000 and 2 1200s. As he works his way with all four decks, you hear tracks come in and out seamlessly. You hear classics on vinyl. You hear new bangers on vinyl. You hear intense basslines vibrating deep inside your soul as the subs control the pace of your breathing and the dancefloor ignites as the legend takes the crowd through a 160 minute set. This is part 2 of 2.

Next up on the decks are San Antonio natives who are no strangers to audiences worldwide. Spettro and Trent Johnson have enjoyed success for years and now working together, are seeing many of their original productions being picked up by multiple successful labels worldwide. Here they drop some bangers for a capacity crowd at the Korova to set the stage for the man of the night, Doc Martin. Every track here reverberated throughout the building as the Bassmaxx system was cranked up to soul shaking levels.
The first DJs set from the epic Prophecy 2 party with Doc Martin is our friend Luch. He drops an exclusive VINYL ONLY set to get this mix series started and immediately upon starting his set, the dancefloor is alive! The entire party was broadcast live across the globe on our webstream at www.efusionradio.com and we have captured all of the magic and are bringing it to you in a high quality stream for your listening enjoyment and for your memory files.

We hope to see you at one of our parties very soon so stay in touch on facebook.com/efusionradio! Special thanks to Andy and Apt Ent for permission to bring this to you!
Longtime San Antonio House Music staple, Paz Joaquin steps up next to deliver electro tinged dubby house jams that he is well known for around Texas. Paz has over the years begun to develop his own style of production which you find mixed into this set. Some of those productions are under the guise of "Two Headed Monster" with San Antonio DJ/Producer Josh Stone. The last dj to open the night before Andy Riley, Paz puts together a winding journey through 4 on the floor pounding tunes and the amplifiers are cranked all the way up!
Electric Avenue ATX's own Christian Barbuto was next to jump on the decks and take the crowd to the next step. With a full dancefloor, Christian served up some funky and techy tunes that exercized the sub cabinets and kept the blood pumping in the basement! Christian once again delivers a superb set and is always a welcome addition to our efusionradio podcast series! From classic club tunes to fresh underground tech stormers, he grinds the hour out to continue this show which proved to be one strictly for DANCERS! Make sure you visit his site electricavenueatx.com for only the BEST events happening in the Austin and San Antonio area!
The night was finally upon us! Andy Riley had arrived in San Antonio, the sub cabinets and tops were firmly installed into the Korova Basement and KeeQue and Josh Granado were on the decks and getting the groove going with no trouble at all! The party bus from Austin, TX had arrived and the dancefloor was full and moving early! This night had all of the makings to be one that would live in memories for years and we have live recordings of the night to provide evidence of the amount of GREAT music and great vibes that we all shared. KeeQue and Josh drop some groovy, funky tunes here to work up the dancers sweat and warm them up for a night of body movin' and groovin'
KeeQue also holds a monthly residency on local San Antonio radio station KSYM 90.1FM. This month his set included many new house tracks that were burning a hole in his crate to get onto this set. A couple of huge tracks by Sonny Fodera and Undercover Scoundrels make it onto this one, making it one of the best of the year so far! Lots of great feedback has come to efusionradio since this was aired originally on 10-26-12 and we just had to share it with the world! Don't sleep on this one! You'll be hearing your favorite house djs dropping these tunes very soon all across the globe!
KeeQue gets the invite to a longtime Austin Sunday night staple, basmrkt (Pronounced bass market) and takes the place into a frenzy with his funky, chunky, disco and even jazzy sound. Throwing down a 1.5 hour set, he really gets an opportunity to stretch his house legs and move in and out of different sounds. He brings the ship home at the end with a few recognizeable bootlegs to put the perfect bow on a beautiful night in the open air, third floor club on 5th and Congress. Full dancefloor and great tunes at Austin's premier house music venue is surely a night to be remembered!
And now....finally....Wattie Green steps up to rock out in San Antonio and Texas for the first time ever. He completely destroys the basement as the entire place erupts into dancing. The system is cranked all the way up and Wattie turns up the heat in the basement! There wasn't anyone in the place who wasn't sweating after his 2 hour beatdown. And now, his set is available here for you to download, forever immortalized on the internet, this intense night of funky, jackin', groovin' house music. Feet and legs were sore the rest of the weekend from this entire night of dancing. Wattie plays some of his own unreleased tracks as well as some of his big remixes for artists such as Sonny Fodera. The perfect culmination!
In the next hour, John Pridgen of the Sun City Hustlers jumped on the decks and started to lay the foundation for the peak set of the night, Wattie Green. John gets his set started with a groove that only John can provide. Using his own tracks and remixes as well as many from his label mates at tango, flapjack and blockhead, John gives the crowd every bit of funk they need to thoroughly establish the groove of the evening. By this time, the system was nearly at it's top volume and Wattie Green had just stepped into the basement to check the scene out. Everyone in the place was jammin' to John's set!
Next up, KeeQue and Big Rich took hold of the booming sound system and worked it in to another dimension. Getting their tag set going with some funky, jackin', swingin house tunes, they built the groove up to set the stage for John Pridgen perfectly. The crowd was pouring in down the stairs and people were grooving to the intense sound sysatem in the concrete walled basement at the Korova. The Yorkville and Cerwin Vega Subs were pounding hard by this time with big tunes and unreleased tracks with acapella stylings provided the whole hour long.
An epic party was about to ensue at the Korova Basement in San Antonio, TX. KeeQue's birthday was finally here and special guest dj Wattie Green was in town to take the decks. But first, our local heros took to the turntables and got the evening started off with some funky, bangin' tunes. Crias is the first up to warm up our booming sound system in the dark, damp basement at Korova. The only light were the high powered multi colored lasers behind the dj which set the tone perfectly for this underground night of house music.
With the final installment of our Summer Rehab Pool Party Series at hand, the next set we are releasing on our podcast is a guest set from none other than Christian Thomas. One of Unscene Records featured artists and a fixture at many events in Austin and San Antonio, Christian closes out the August pool party with the perfect blend of techy, funky, deep beats! Everyone was grooving around the place, the bar was full and our extra beefed up sound was BOOMING. Christian leaves the entire crowd craving more with this amazing set and we are about to deliver one more time on Sept. 23 at the aloft Hotel, San Antonio!
Next it was KeeQue's turn to deliver the goods at the aloft Hotel in San Antonio. Starting with classic Masters at Work sounds then moving in and out of deep, funky, jazzy tunes, KeeQue provided yet another perfect groove to take the pool party into the late afternoon and setting the stage for the final DJ, Christian Thomas. KeeQue weaves in and out, seamlessly, taking the swimmers, the drink sippers, the dancers and the rest of the pool party attendees to the peak of the party! Lots of classic wax tunes were included in this set from KeeQue's recent trip to San Francisco's heavenly vinyl providers!
Getting the next pool party rocking in August, Enrique Cortazar brings his sound of deep house and techno beats to the poolside at the Aloft Hotel San Antonio. Enrique and his team at Unscene Records and Digital Beat Radio have played a big part in the huge success of these pool parties and his sets are definitely the culmination of his passion for his own art and production as well as his labelmates and their fresh sound. This one will keep your head bobbin' and your feet movin' the entire time!
To end off the long day by the pool, Anthony Garcia of Sun City Hustlers takes the decks for his birthday celebration. Going from deep house to jackin funk, Anthony takes the party up to the next level as the margaritas continue to flow! The sound is cranked up loud and people are stopping by just to see what's happening and the pool volleyball comes to a climactic finish. The perfect end to the perfect pool party day!
Following ISA, Freddy Soliz steps up to the decks and brings a techy groovy vibe to the poolside. Part two of this two hour set picks right where part 1 leaves off and then takes the mix to another dimension! KeeQue starts off with one of his favorite tracks of 2011 and then moves into some techy house filth. Josh Granado follows suit and then later moves the mix into another level towards the end before KeeQue brings the mix back home. Jav is probably really drunk by this time (ok we all had a lot of alcohol) but in the watchtower studios, anything goes! Part 2 of our pre Paul Van Dyk roadtrip mix is sure to take your night to a peak and then drop you off safely back on earth to wait for our next episode. Leave us some feedback on our iTunes page!
Before KeeQue headed down to the Rio Grande Valley once again to open for Paul Van Dyk with Big Rich as their new project, "Mazchingon", KeeQue and Josh Granado took to the cyber airwaves to throw down a two hour stormer of a set. Except this time, Jav joined them on the microphone duties once again, and partied like old times in the studio. The beer was flowing, the incense burning and the shots were lined up for a ride through house music. This set was one piece of the soundtrack for the road to the Pharr Event Center on 9-3-11 for an epic PVD show! Join us for part 1 of the journey!
Episode 25 is another memorable episode of South Texas Tech from Fuze. This episode he takes the summer to a close with 100+ degree South Texas Heaters, including one of his own original tracks, Slowpoke on the Andromeda label.
