Bombas was already thriving—scaling rapidly, achieving billions in sales, and donating more than 200 million items to people experiencing homelessness—when founder David Heath recognized that the company's next phase of growth would require a different kind of leadership. He made the intentional decision to step aside as CEO, and Jason LaRose, a seasoned operator with experience scaling brands, was thoughtfully brought in—first as president, then as CEO—creating a seamless transition rooted in shared respect for Bombas' purpose, culture, and product excellence. We invited David Heath and Jason LaRose to share what it really takes to navigate a founder-to-CEO transition while preserving the soul of a purpose-driven company. They discuss the importance of humility, trust, and deep respect for what's already been built, as well as the discipline required to scale without disrupting culture or diluting mission. From Jason's intentional “listen-first” leadership approach to David's continued role as a strategic partner, their conversation reveals how purpose can act as a north star through change and growth. They also explore how Bombas continues to innovate, expand into new categories and channels, and grow its giving network, all while proving that purpose isn't a tradeoff to profitability, but a driver of it. For purpose-driven leaders, it's a compelling story of how one leader passes purpose to the next—and how impact can grow without losing what matters most.Listen for insights on:Recognizing when founder leadership must evolveBuilding trust before stepping into CEO roleScaling operations without compromising mission integrityProtecting culture during periods of rapid growthResources + Links:Watch this episode on YouTube!David Heath's LinkedInJason LaRose's LinkedInBombas Impact ReportBombas Giving Partner DirectoryPrevious Purpose 360 Episode: The Love That Bombas Socks Made (00:00) - Welcome to Purpose 360 (00:13) - Meet David and Jason from Bombas (02:56) - Backstories (05:35) - How They Met (07:32) - The Germ of the Idea (10:13) - Jason's Start (14:30) - Dave's Role (16:46) - CEO Advice (18:30) - First 60 Days and Volunteering (20:41) - Expand Products (22:31) - Superior Production (24:18) - Moving Into Retail (25:55) - Giving Partners (28:17) - Looking to the Future (30:12) - Message to Young People (33:28) - Fast Track Questions (38:42) - Last Word (39:45) - Wrap Up

Host Radell Lewis breaks down Ohio's 2026 State Auditor race between Republican Frank LaRose, Democrat Annette Blackwell, and Libertarian write-in Aidan Jeffery, then runs through a wild week of Ohio political news on Purple Political Breakdown. This episode covers why the Auditor's office matters (hint: it's the only statewide office with the power to catch public officials misusing your tax dollars), how current Auditor Keith Faber's run for Attorney General is part of what reporters are calling a "musical chairs" pattern among term-limited Ohio Republicans, and whether LaRose's Secretary of State record (including the 2023 Issue 1 reversal, a Hatch Act complaint, and 1,200 alleged voter fraud cases referred to the DOJ in late 2025) matches the job description of Ohio's chief accountability officer. On the other side of the aisle, Maple Heights Mayor Annette Blackwell pitches 16 years of accounting experience and a documented fiscal turnaround that won the Auditor's own Clean Audit Award three years running. In the news roundup: Ohio quietly adds "Trump Wildlife Area" as an official name through administrative rule, podcaster Myron Gaines performs a Sieg Heil salute on the steps of Ohio University's Memorial Auditorium in the first real test of Senate Bill 1, Columbus restaurant La Chatelaine cancels a Casey Putsch fundraiser over his comments about Hitler and Nazis, Governor Mike DeWine honors his late father's role liberating Dachau, a 2019 Bexley police report resurfaces on Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, Signal Ohio reporter Jake Zuckerman exposes Ohio nursing homes dumping medically fragile patients at homeless shelters, and a DraftKings-linked super PAC places over $1.1 million in ads backing Ohio Republican legislative primary candidates.

Today at Health Youniversity we're exploring the critical connection between hormonal health and mental well-being.Join Dr. Susan as she sits down with Dr. Lauren LaRose, a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who practices integrative psychiatry in the New Orleans area. Dr. LaRose shares her deeply personal journey with hormonal imbalances that began at age 11 and profoundly impacted both her fertility and mental health for decades. From suffering through 15 years on birth control that caused anhedonia (the inability to feel pleasure) and depressive symptoms, to experiencing two devastating miscarriages before discovering a simple progesterone deficiency, to finally being diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroidism after multiple doctors dismissed her symptoms—Dr. LaRose's story illuminates why conventional medicine often falls short when it comes to hormone health. Now, as a psychiatrist treating adolescent girls and women, Dr. LaRose has transformed her practice. Instead of defaulting to birth control or psychiatric medications alone, she educates patients and parents about how hormone imbalances affect neurochemical levels and manifest as mood disorders. She helps identify cyclical mood patterns, collaborates with functional medicine practitioners, and empowers patients to address root causes rather than masking symptoms. This episode is essential for adolescent girls and women experiencing mood swings around their cycles, anyone struggling with anxiety or depression alongside period problems, parents of teenage daughters facing mental health challenges, women dealing with infertility and mood symptoms, and healthcare providers seeking a more integrative approach to mental health.Website: https://linktr.ee/thelittlebraincampaign

Tesla sits at the center of an ever-growing web of carbon-credit partnerships, giving traditional automakers a lifeline as they rush to electrify. In the courts, youth-led climate lawsuits are heating up on both sides of the border. Canada is seeing its first-ever federal climate trial — La Rose v. His Majesty the King — arguing that government inaction violates young people's Charter rights. And in the U.S., a recent dismissal of the "kids versus Trump" case may still pave the way for future climate victories after a judge called climate change a "children's health emergency." Plus, a new company wants to store clean energy under the sea using giant saltwater bladders — like a pumped hydro system without the mountains. Google also backs plans to restart an old nuclear plant in Iowa to secure 25 years of zero-carbon power. Evie and Eli are a dynamic duo with a deep love for food, adventure, and building unforgettable experiences. Based in Las Vegas, they're both certified SCA judges, and passionate foodies. Eli is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, global traveler, and expert builder of custom off-road vehicles. In 2023, he introduced the Military Class to King of the Hammers—his own creation, inspired by converting a 2011 Armorworks Hyena Military Prototype into an Ultra4 race truck. Evie is a top-tier Google Maps restaurant reviewer—ranked in the top 10 worldwide—a creator of unforgettable events, and the designer behind the off-road vehicle that took her and Eli to second place in their class at the 2022 Mint 400. Known for her unique blend of creativity and authenticity, she turns every experience into something truly special. THE VENUE In Spring 2024, they purchased a 5-acre property in Homewood Canyon just outside Death Valley National Park and opened Base Camp Death Valley as an event venue in March 2025. The centerpiece is the Desert Rose Manor, a 6,000 sq ft, four-story colonial home featuring stunning exterior wrought ironwork by the late Raymon Larose—a legendary West Coast blacksmith whose work graces the homes of Frank Sinatra and Barbra Walters, and properties owned by Paramount, Universal, Disney Studios, MGM Grand, as well as creations for Barry Manilow, Michael Jackson, The Osmond Family, and many more. While the Manor's interior is currently undergoing a careful remodel, the exterior will be beautifully finished in time for the October 2025 event—offering a gorgeous backdrop. Guests at Base Camp Death Valley can enjoy one of Larose's remarkable creations up close—the wedding arch made from wrought iron gates originally crafted for Barbra Walters' house. Though these gates were damaged by a visitor before they could be shipped, Larose rebuilt a new set and later repaired the originals. The restored gates now serve as a striking and historic backdrop for the wedding ceremony area, offering attendees a unique glimpse into the artistry that enriches the property. Don't let the reputation of the Death Valley heat scare you away—Base Camp sits at a refreshing 3,000 feet in elevation, often 5–10 degrees cooler than Las Vegas, NV. October temperatures are ideal, and the night sky? Absolutely unreal. As a designated 100% DarkZone, Base Camp offers one of the clearest, darkest stargazing experiences on Earth. THE EVENT On October 11, 2025, they'll host the inaugural Sizzlin at Sunset Steak Cookoff, a fully SCA-sanctioned event featuring Golden Ticket opportunities for Steak and Ancillaries—making it the final qualifying event before the SCA World Championships in Fort Worth March 2026. And because ticket winners can't take home more than one Golden Ticket in a category, it's a prime opportunity for novice competitors to snag a spot. The legendary Ken Phillips, SCA Co-Founder, will serve as the SCA event rep. Competitors can camp onsite(limited spaces available) or take advantage of discounted lodging in nearby Ridgecrest, CA (just 37 miles away). Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a backyard cook ready to try your hand, the Sizzlin at Sunset Steak Cookoff is shaping up to be one of the most exciting, welcoming, and visually stunning events of the season.
