COVID19 Special. In this lockdown episode, Tony and Emily reminisce about their favorite roadtrip pizza and why it was so tough to find a good, local, family-owned restaurant back in 2001. We also vouchsafe about the difficulties in eating healthy food, how cities with Hampton Inns became our de facto stopping points, and the foolhardy practice of hitting a gas station for breakfast.
Tony & Emily continue their journey westwards, in theis episode they go from Texas to Colorado, eating McDonald's and pizza, then almost getting stuck in the snow of New Mexico. Who knew? Also, Tony takes the time tunnel forward to 2020 and talks about signs, particularly a bad one at Edinburgh Airport. Even Bill Bryson gets a mention.
Tony & Emily drive from Arkansas, through Missouri, Kansas, then Nebraska, back to Kansas, ending up in Liberal, near the state line with Oklahoma. Then they cross into Texas and only just avoid a speeding ticket. On a detour, we travel forward in time to 2020, where Tony talks about driving stick shoft in Europe, why rental cars absolutely need a usb charger in them in this 'day and age' and why a flat screen to control everything sucks, especially if it's cold.
Tony and Emily spend some time leaving Mississippi, entering Louisiana, leaving Lousiana, and entering Arkansas.
Why I chose the route that I did. Tip: it's partly because I don't like cities much.
