Two people. Two paths. Two destinations. Where do you fit? The Righteous and the Wicked Contrasted. 1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the [a]path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by [b]streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. 4 The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish. Matthew 7 The Two Foundations 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

It is fitting for me to share what I have been studying lately and it happened to be the book of Numbers. These three chapters contains Laws. As we go over the book, we find Moses rehearsing the law to the younger generation (who were about to enter the promised land) the same law that was given at Mount Sinai to the previous generation that perished in the wilderness because of their unbelief. As we go over these decrees, ordinances and regulations, one my wonder, how did they do it? Why God commanded these unberable mandates? Did they do them the way He commanded them? Why aren't we doing them today? What are we learning about God? How does Jesus fits in these chapters? What is the Holy Spirit doing? We touch on the fact some self proclaimed christians clings to these customs except they pick and choose; is that acceptable? Let's dive!

Episode #8: Unjust Judge Luke 18:1-8, Roe V. Wade, Pride Month

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 1, 2022 23:36

So America bills June as a "Pride" month. I am not sure when it started. I do not pay attention it at all. But as time passes, its activities are becoming more and more visible. You can't go to a bank or a coffee shop without bumping into some proud weirdo gawping at you. In it, everyone is supposed to accept and celebrate one sin. A sin of fornication. You see rainbow flags flying all over the place. Even American embassies around the world are ordered to fly the thing. People go to work in bizarre outfits and hair dos. Schools promote "drug queen" reading hour to small children (I call that a drag queen grooming hour). It is a dark month in America. once June is over, what a relief to see July? But this year's June has forever changed that dark month into light. I am talking about the overturning of Roe vs Wade. The overruling of Roe V. Wade is a product of persistent prayer. That is an encouragement I would like to bring home today. Often we pray and we see no results when we want to see them. We think God is not hearing or will simply not answer this. The truth is God's timing is not our timing. And seeing answered prayers in real life is so motivating. We are blessed to see this decision by 6 justices come to pass after 49 year of prayers. Think about it for a minute. It took 49 years to get this wicked law sent back to states. This monumental ruling appropriately relate to the parable of the unjust judge. Take the parable of the unjust judge, also known as the parable of the persistent widow, in Luke 18:1–8. The unjust judge is a character that Jesus invents in order to develop a comparison that stresses the Lord's willingness to hear and respond to the prayers of His people. This judge was not at all concerned to execute justice for widows, finally gives in to the widow's demands because she refuses to leave him alone until he does. He finally acts justly, not out of a concern to do what is right but simply so that he can have some peace. If evil judges will act justly in such circumstances, how much more will God, who never tires of hearing the pleas of His people, do what is right? The Lord, who can do no injustice, will move quickly to help when His children cry out to Him (Luke 18:7). In closing, when the devil stole a whole month of June to pervert it with fornication, God took back one day from it and shone His light that will forever change the month of June in America. Moving forward, evil will look more and more pathetic and people will be turning away from it. Satan may have small victories here and there but God holds the key. He is winning. One day He will judge and bring every evil deeds to an end. That is the ultimate Victory we all eagerly await. Always pray and never lose heart.

"Desires" (strong's 4862): request, petition, prayer, wish. The picture here is that we do not approach God in this macho, tough, Schwarzenegger like muscles rather we go to Him in this tender, delicate, womanish position. But how to we get there? There are so many lessons to draw from Genesis 20, but our focus will be on verse 6. Here's Abraham and his wife moved to Gerar, a pagan land located into the region of the Negev. At this point, Abram's name is changed to Abraham and Sarai is named Sarah. God has made Abraham father of many nations, and promised Abraham a child through Sarah, his wife. We also know, at this point, God has established His covenant as an everlasting covenant between Him and Abraham and his descendants after him for the generations to come, to be Abraham's God and the God of his descendants (Genesis 17:7). Abraham confirmed that covenant with God when he and all male in his household underwent circumcision. Things were going well for Abraham, yet, when he got to Gerar, he convinced his wife to lie to the people of that land about their relationship. The king of the land, Abimelech, took Sarah with an intention of making her, his wife. I mean, the lady was 90+ years old. How wicked can a man be to be attracted to a 90 years old lady? Not only that, also, he had plenty of wives already. And, the woman had passed a child bearing age. Nothing makes sense except sin. Genesis 20:6 reads, Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her." These things were written to us for our instruction (1 Corinthians 10:11). So, in this episode, we will discuss how we should respond to this verse. I pray this lesson will uplift our prayer life and ascribe glory to God in our christian walk. Questions to Ponder: 1. How would the world be if God did not restrain sins? 2. How would my life looks like If I was left to sin anyhow I wanted? 3. Why doesn't God restrain all sins then? 4. How should I respond from what I learned today? Further reading for answers: Psalm 51:4, 1 Samuel 25:34, Genesis 39:9, Romans 2:15, Romans 1:18,19, Luke 12:48 and Matthew 18:21-35.

GOD'S FINAL WORD God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrews 1:1-3 NASB. The Podcast name derived from the book of Job 36:11 ESV, If they listen and serve him, they complete their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasantness. "If they obey and serve him, they live out their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness" (Net Bible). "If they hear and serve Him, They will end their days in prosperity And their years in pleasures" (NASB). "If they listen and obey God, they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives. All their years will be pleasant" (NLT). Happiness is what everyone want, desire and search for. The issue is not finding it, the issue searching in wrong places. I believe this verse just gave us an answer: If we listen and obey God, we will live out our days in prosperity and our years in pleasantness. I pray this podcast will be our weekly reminder on just that. The whole idea was to not bombard you with yet another information, rather, bringing something of value in your life. We will be talking about Life, Faith and Findings that are meaningful to us therefore helping us live in pleasantness. Also in this first episode, we are praying for the life of a young girl named Lilian. We may never meet this girl in person, but through God's providential love, we met her via internet.
