At the consummation of history, God promises to make all things new.  In Rev 21 we are given a picture of the beauty of the New Jerusalem, a place where God dwells with His people.

The millennial reign of Christ is the age in which we now live where Satan is bound and Gospel spreads throughout the world.  Join us as we consider this truth from Rev 20.

The theme of marriage is critical to our understanding of God's relationship with His people. Not only is marriage threaded all through the Bible, but it becomes a poignant illustration in Revelation.

We often shy away from the reality of God's judgment.  However, God's Word is clear that it's appointed for man to die once and after that to face judgment.  A healthy understanding of the judgment of God enables us to live faithfully while also embracing a richer love for the work of Christ.  

"Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints."  The spiritual warfare we encounter throughout life can easily wear us down and tempt us to take the easy way out.  Revelation 13 is a sobering assessment of the spiritual forces at work while calling us to faithfully endure.

While spiritual warfare is a reality we face as followers of Christ, we learn tonight in chapter 12 the heart of this battle is borne out of Satan's attack against Jesus.

In the midst of spiritual warfare and daily trials, John's vision in chapter 7 shows us that God's people are secure as they are sealed in Christ.  

In Revelation 6 we see all of history unfolding under the watchful eye of God who is intimately aware of the trials His people endure.  As the hymn writer said, "Life with trials hard may press me, heaven will bring me sweeter rest."  Join us as we learn that truth tonight.

After addressing the 7 churches in Asia Minor, John is given a vision of the throne room of God where we are oriented to the true reality of God's rule and reign over all the earth.

While the church at Thyatira had a remarkable reputation of faith, love, and good works, many within her ranks had succumbed to the seduction of false teaching.  Join us as we consider how the power of God's Word is a safeguard for us in our walk with Christ.

In the opening chapter of Revelation, John records a vision of the exalted Christ. It's an image that should give us great hope in the midst of challenging and uncertain times.  

We begin this series in Revelation considering the opening verses of Revelation 1.  Even in the introduction, we are led to see the way in which Revelation draws our attention to Jesus and the hope that is ours in Him.

We conclude the fall semester with a strong reminder of the many ways God is at work through the circumstances of life, even in the difficulties and trials we face.

One of the greatest chapters in the entire Bible, David is confronted by God's knowledge and presence even as he faces numerous challenges all around him.  

In chapter 73, the Psalmist is close to abandoning his faith in God due to the prosperity of the wicked.  But when he draws near to God in the temple, eternal realities become clear and the peril of the wicked is brought to the fore.  Join us as we consider God's faithfulness even in our doubts.

For all the beauty, joy, and pleasure we can experience in this life, our souls will continue to be haunted by a void only God can fill.  Lasting fullness and true joy is found when we bring our hunger and thirst to Christ.

Psalm 46 is one of the great passages where we find assurance of God's protection even in the midst of life's uncertainties.  May He turn our gaze from the cares of this life to behold the wonder that is ours in Christ.  

David's repentance from sin leads to joy and blessing in life.  Tonight we consider that even though sin so easily corrupts our lives, God's grace and mercy in Christ leads to our joy and blessing when we repent of our sin.

One of the most well known and memorized portions of Scripture, Psalm 23 continues to nourish and strengthen God's people.  God reveals Himself as a Shepherd not only in this Psalm, but by sending His own Son, in the flesh, the Good Shepherd who gives His life for the sake of His sheep.

This Psalm is a beautiful reminder that God has revealed Himself to all humanity so that none are without excuse.  Creation bears the imprint of God's intentional design while the Scripture discloses more full and specifically the very character of our God in heaven.

While the nations and rulers plot and scheme against one another, they reveal their deep seated rebellion against God.  Ultimately, God has established His Son as the true king will will forever reign!

Psalm 1 encourages us to see that the path of blessing is found in the way of faithfulness.  The only alternative is the path of rebellion and sin which ultimately leads to destruction.  

What joy and hope is promised to God's people as we discover the reality that there is now no condemnation for us who are in Christ.  

The battle of indwelling sin is a reality for all who seek to live faithfully.  While that battle will continue for the rest of our life, it does afford us a deeper understanding of God's mercy and grace for His people.

We see tonight that who we serve will be our master.  When we faithfully respond to God's Word, we find that obedience actually is the path to freedom and life we desperately long for.

It seems a likely temptation that an increase in God's grace would encourage a greater likelihood of living in sin.  However, we discover in Romans 6:1-14 that the grace of God not only opposes a sinful lifestyle, but is actually our best hope for living faithfully.

In Romans 5:12-21 we see that all of humanity is found to be united to either Adam or Jesus.  To be in Adam leads to death, but to be in Christ is life.  Join us as we consider how Jesus is the true and better Adam who brings life to those who come to him by faith.

God's wrath is a terrifying reality, but one that we need to understand if we are to truly embrace Christ.  While God's wrath is reveal from heaven against sin, His wrath has also been satisfied on the cross by the work of Christ.  

The righteous shall live by faith is the great theme of Romans, as well as the heart of the Christian faith.  Join us as we discover what this means as we begin our study in Romans.

We conclude the fall semester's study by studying John 20 and Jesus' resurrection from the dead.

The drama of this miracle is not so much in the miracle itself, but in the interaction between a Roman Centurion and Jesus.  What is it that caused Jesus to marvel at his faith?  And how is it possible that a Roman Centurion is one who displays such humility and grace.  Join us as we dive in to this story.

Tonight we consider the parable of the Prodigal Son through the lens of the elder brother and what his experience teaches us about ourselves and our relationship to God.

Jesus not only feeds the 5000, but he offers eternal sustenance to feed hungry souls. 

Jesus urges us to pray, to pray often, and expectantly.  If a powerless widow receives justice from an unjust judge, how much more so should we expect to be heard by our Father in heaven.

A paralytic comes looking to be healed of his paralysis when Jesus surprises everyone by declaring the man's sins are forgiven.  Tonight we consider the significance of what that means for us as we come to Christ in faith.

Jesus' parables often surprise us and sometimes leave us feeling a little unsettled.  Today's passage will challenge us to consider our assumptions, our pride, and hopefully lead us to a place of humility in God's presence.  

Jesus' first miracle of changing water to wine has far more significance than what beverage is being served at a wedding.  It communicates to us the significance of who He is and the power of the Gospel.

Tonight we are confronted with the joy and significance of discovering the Kingdom of Heaven

Elisha's death brings an end to an era of the ministries of Elijah and Elisha.  Yet his death and the circumstances surrounding it point us to a prophet even greater than these two men who secures life eternal for those whose hope rests in Him.

In a day of immense suffering and hardship, the Lord delivered His people in the most unexpected of ways through the most unexpected messengers.

A mundane day, an unnamed servant, and a remarkable miracle point us to the goodness and kindness of Christ for the weak and lowly.

The Gospel of grace humbles to realize all that we are, all that we have, and all that we aspire to be, is nothing before the Lord.  And in that place of humility, is exactly where He meets us with His transforming grace.

The ministry of God's Word continues even after the departure of Elijah.  Elisha is the clear successor to Elijah's office as he executes faithful ministry to the Lord.

Elijah's ministry comes to a conclusion in dramatic fashion.  Join us as we consider the implications of Elijah's departure for our own lives.
