Pastor Ray Bentley offers a glimpse of angels, and it may be different than we think. You know, you have those little novelty shops and you go in and they have these chubby little babies that they call cherubs with little miniature wings and dimples, and they're really cute. Okay. That's fine. That's cool. But that's not what real cherubim look like.
Pastor Ray Bentley on life, death, and the future. And our guardian angels. We have hope that this mortality, when I die, shall put on immortality. And that's what gives us hope. And so if we should die as a believer here upon the earth, the last responsibility of your guardian angel is to, I believe, carry your soul into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven.
Reach Out: Please include your email and I will get back to you. Thanks!Revelation 4 John is taken in the Spirit to a vision of heaven, where a throne sits at the center, surrounded by glory and awe. The One on the throne, the Father, shines with the brilliance of precious stones, and a rainbow like an emerald encircles Him. Around the throne are twenty-four elders dressed in white with golden crowns, and flashes of lightning and peals of thunder come from the throne. Seven blazing torches represent the Spirit of God. Four living creatures, full of eyes and with different faces—a lion, an ox, a man, and an eagle—continually worship, declaring God as holy. The elders fall before Him, casting their crowns and praising Him as the Creator of all things. Heaven revolves around the glory and worthiness of the almighty God. We are shown that worship starts with seeing God as He truly is. He sits on the throne, full of majesty, surrounded by beauty, power, and ongoing praise. We often get distracted by what is happening around us, but Revelation lifts our eyes to what is happening above us. God is not shaken by anything on earth. He reigns with glory and authority. We are called to respond like the elders, laying down our crowns and honoring Him. Everything we have comes from Him, and everything exists for His purpose. When we see God clearly, our hearts become more humble, our worship becomes more sincere, and our lives are reshaped around His greatness, not our own comfort or pride. Glorious God, You are seated on the throne, full of majesty and surrounded by endless praise. You are holy, worthy, and exalted above all. The heavens declare Your greatness, and all creation exists by Your will. Help us see You as You are, to lift our eyes above the noise of this world, and to worship You with sincere hearts. Teach us to lay down our pride, our desires, and our crowns before You. Fill us with awe and reverence. May our lives reflect the glory we see in You, and may our hearts never grow tired of praising Your name. Thought Questions: How do you picture the Father sitting on the throne? If you imagined approaching Him when you pray, how might that benefit you? What do you believe the twenty-four elders and four creatures represent? Regardless, what does their worship say about God? Why is God worthy to receive glory, honor, and power? What does it look like in your life to present those things humbly to Him?
In our study of revelation, Pastor Ray Bentley takes us to God's throne, surrounded by a cloud of glory. The most amazing phenomenon associated with the cloud is the unmistakable voice of the Lord. Can sound like wind or thunder or rushing water. His voice is ear splitting. It is earth shattering. It is the Word of God. It is none other than Jesus Christ.
In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the series The King Has Come with a raw and life-giving exploration of the second great gift Jesus brings: peace.Turning to the familiar yet profound scene in Luke 2:8–20, Pastor Karl invites us into the midnight terror of ordinary shepherds—suddenly confronted by the blinding glory of God—and shows how the very first words from heaven that night were not “Merry Christmas,” but “Fear not.” That first Christmas did not begin with sentimental calm; it began with paralyzing, mega-fear. And right there, in the middle of stacked-on-stacked fear, the angel announced good news of great joy: a Savior has been born who is Christ the Lord, the Prince of Peace. With pastoral tenderness and unflinching honesty, Pastor Karl unmasks fear as the mortal enemy of peace—how it magnifies threats, shrinks our view of God, and paints our future in colors darker than God ever intended. Yet the gospel is stronger: peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of a Person. Peace is not something Jesus gives; peace is who Jesus is—and He gives Himself.Through the shepherds' journey from terror to testimony, we're given clear, scriptural paths out of fear and into the unshakable peace of Christ: speaking God's truth over fear's lies, refusing to agree with the spirit of fear, drawing near to Jesus through spiritual disciplines, and taking bold steps of obedience that move us against comfort and toward surrender. This is a word for everyone whose heart has been ruled by anxiety, worst-case scenarios, or the quiet fears that steal joy—especially in this season. A tender yet urgent call to stop trusting the unknown future to our own control and start trusting it to the known God who entered our fear as a baby in a manger.Because the King has come, fear does not get the final word. Peace does. And when the Prince of Peace takes over a life, what spills out is no longer fear—but praise, testimony, and unshakable confidence in the goodness of God.Essential listening for anyone who longs to trade fear for the peace that passes all understanding this Christmas.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

The letters to the seven churches have concluded, and in today's episode the apostle John sees a vision of the throne room of heaven. The hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy” harkens back to this seen where 24 elders cast their crowns before the throne as a sign of humility and submission. To say that God is thrice-fold holy is to say that he is perfect in his holiness. The four living creatures bring to mind the angels seen in the visions of Ezekiel, representing God's power and authority. One like a slaughtered lamb appears to take the scroll from the one seated on the throne, causing those who had gathered to bow before the lamb. A congregation of thousands upon thousands rise up to declare the praise of the one on the throne and of the lamb that was slain. :::Christian Standard Bible translation. All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.Co-produced by the Christian Standard Biblefacebook.com/commuterbibleinstagram.com/commuter_bibletwitter.com/CommuterPodpatreon.com/commuterbibleadmin@commuterbible.org

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
In Revelation 4, John is lifted from the chaos of earth into the calm of Heaven — and what he sees changes everything. Before the thunder, the trials, and the tribulation of Revelation unfold, God gives John a breathtaking vision of His throne. Why? Because what's happening around the throne in Heaven is meant to happen within our hearts on earth.

Scripture Reading: Revelation 4:1-11 In Revelation 4, the entire focus of the book changes … from the churches that existed during John's day, to the events which will take place in the future, indeed, at the end of human history. Before John writes about what will take place at the end of time, he describes for us the glory of God in heaven, as he saw the throne of the Almighty in his vision. Revelation 4 describes the glory of God the Father and chapter 5 describes the glory of God the Son. What is revealed in Revelation 4 is the worship that is going on in heaven … performed by angels and saints in heaven. They declare the wonders of God in specific statements and with profound humility and great passion. We learn something of the importance of worship from this passage. God is central in heaven in a way that He is not central in the events of earthly life and human history. A brief definition of worship might be "savoring the supremacy of God." To consider who God is, is to come to the conclusion that He is supreme in all the universe, in every way. His power is supreme, His majesty indescribable, His goodness unimpeachable, His mercy everlasting, His wisdom unsearchable, His truth pure and reliable, His sovereignty mysterious and all-encompassing. Savoring all that God is … reveling in Him, enjoying Him, taking pleasure in Him, prizing Him … is worship. Worship is something of an abbreviation of an old English word 'worthship.' To ascribe to God His worth is worship. Worship is not just the act of singing a song on Sunday morning or praying before you go to sleep at night. It is exulting in God, deep in our hearts, because of His value … worth … infinite worth.

Sunday Service: Revelation 4 presents a vivid vision of the heavenly throne room that John sees after being spiritually transported to heaven. At the center is God's throne, surrounded by brilliant light and symbolic elements like a sea of glass and flashes of lightning, representing His holiness, power, and majesty. Around the throne are 24 elders clothed in white with crowns on their heads, symbolizing redeemed believers who share in God's rule but humbly cast their crowns before Him in worship. Four living creatures, identified with characteristics of seraphim, continually proclaim God's holiness. The chapter emphasizes God's absolute authority, the continual worship He receives, and the central role of His glory in heaven.
