"The Little Season" refers to a brief period mentioned in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 20:3, 7-8) after Satan is released from his imprisonment for 1,000 years. During this time, he will deceive the nations for a final time before being defeated and cast into the lake of fire. Interpretations vary, with some believing this season is a future event, while others, known as preterists, suggest it has already occurred, possibly tied to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. A fringe interpretation, sometimes linked to conspiracy theories, suggests that our current history is a deception orchestrated by Satan during this "Little Season," with ancient architecture being evidence of a past, hidden reign of Christ. Join Joel as he navigates this controversial Biblical conspiracy to understand if we are actually in a time as Little Seasonists call, "Satan's Reign". He starts by looking at the "Cass Sunstein Effect" and its involvement in shaping the "Truther" world we know today. He then looks at Revelation 20's explanation of what the "Little Season" is and then ties it back into Preterism's thoughts on the Antichrist and the sacking of Jerusalem in AD70. Next, he takes a thorough look at Matthew 26:64 and other “proof" verses that prove that Jesus already returned for the Second Coming. Finally, Joel examines the Little Season vs. the Long Season and if our current timeline would make sense being a 200-300 year time of Satan's deception. When reading Revelation, we are best served looking for Jesus, and what we find needn't be reduced to abstract imagery.

Vintage City Church // The Book of Revelation: Revelation 18-19:10 | Investing In Eternity // Dustin ScottAs we finish studying John's vision of the sinful indulgences and excesses of Rome in Revelation 18 and 19, we are asked this question: are we investing in the momentary pleasures of sin, or are we investing in eternity?
Vintage City Church // The Book of Revelation: Revelation 17 // Gary PetersRevelation 17 sets the stage for the completion of Christ's triumph over evil and the restoration of God's original design for humanity and the world.
Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps, 3 and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4 It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb, 5 and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are blameless.6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”8 Another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who made all nations drink the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality.”9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”1. Have you ever struggled with the concept of hell? How have you dealt with it?2. Have you noticed how often Jesus mentions hell and judgment? Is it relieving or frustrating to you the varied images and symbolic language about hell?3. At death we become all heaven or all hell. How does this impact your view of eternity?4. In view of the cross, do you trust God with eternity for yourself and those you love?5. In what ways is a discussion about hell sobering for you? Is there anyone in your life who needs to hear the gospel from you?6. Are you willing to trust Jesus with your doubts and uncertainties?

Vintage City Church // Revelation 14: Judgment Day // Dustin ScottJohn has a vision of Judgement Day in Revelation 14, casting an enteral perspective over our lives. A lifelong decision to follow Jesus determines our eternity, and John reminds us that if we endure in Christ, we will cross the finish line.
Vintage City Church // Revelation 13 Pt.2 // Greg SandersIn this second part of Revelation 13, we consider what John's vision could mean for our current time in a way that is consistent with the historical context we have been studying. While we might not be sure what all the images mean, we know we are called to endurance and faith as we follow Jesus.
Vintage City Church // Revelation 13 // Greg SandersWe study how the early church would have understood John's vision in Revelation 13. With that context in mind, we carefully consider the identities of the beasts described in the chapter.
Vintage City Church // Revelation 12:11 // Dustin Scott. As we return to our Revelation study, we reflect on our strategic placement in this world and are encouraged to examine how we witness Christ through our testimonies.
The last book in the Bible, Revelation, has been misunderstood, misused, and misapplied perhaps more than any other book in Scripture. And it's no wonder. It's an ancient text far removed from our usual experience, filled with unfamiliar and frightful images. But it doesn't have to be that way. If you know the interpretive key to Revelation you can unlock its message, read it with understanding, and benefit from its practical and encouraging message.
We begin this series in Revelation considering the opening verses of Revelation 1. Even in the introduction, we are led to see the way in which Revelation draws our attention to Jesus and the hope that is ours in Him.
1. Revelation is meant to point us to Jesus. (v. 1-2) 2. Revelation is meant to be obeyed. (v.3) 3. Revelation is meant to give us hope. (v. 4-8)
The book of Revelation is the revelation of Jesus. John is sharing the Word and testimony of Jesus, so we should expect that the book is full of descriptions of Jesus. The sermon covers the descriptions of Jesus in nearly every chapter, giving us a greater understanding of who Jesus is and of His nature.
We are reminded that the true meaning of Advent and Christmas goes far beyond the festive imagery we're accustomed to as Luke Parker shares what John has to say in this powerful message. The Book of Revelation offers us a startling, awe-inspiring vision of Christ that challenges our comfortable notions. We're introduced to Jesus as the majestic 'Son of Man,' holding stars in His hand and speaking with a voice like rushing waters. This imagery, drawn from Revelation 1:9-20, presents Christ not as a helpless babe, but as the all-powerful, glorified Lord. The message encourages us to trust in this Jesus who is in absolute control, even when we feel isolated or in misery. Just as John received this vision while exiled on Patmos, we too can find hope and strength in the midst of our personal struggles. This Christmas, let's look beyond the familiar trappings and see the cosmic significance of Christ's coming – a reminder that He holds the keys to death and Hades, and that the end of the story has already been written in our favor.

Vintage City Church // The Book of Revelation: Revelation 8:1-5 // Greg SandersIn Revelation 8:1-5, when the seventh seal is broken, we learn that the central focus of the heavenly throne room is the prayers of God's people. Vintage City Church // The Book of Revelation: Revelation 7:9-17 // Greg SandersRevelation 7:9-17 reminds us that the Lamb came to save all of humanity. Jesus wants us to be counted in the limitless crowd worshipping the Throne. There is hope and encouragement in the power of grace, which remedies the problem of sin and chaos.

Chapter 7 is a picture of God's covenantal faithfulness to His beloved and holy people.
