In this sermon by Chris Romig, the focus is on linking the Book of Revelation to Palm Sunday, unveiling the profound truths found in Revelation chapters 4 and 5. Pastor Chris takes us through John's vision on Patmos, explaining how the messages to the seven churches still resonate today, before shifting to the heavenly scenes of chapters four and five. John's vision in chapter four assures us of God's control over future events, while chapter five introduces a significant scroll held by God, symbolizing a divine testament for the earth's destiny. John weeps when no one can open the scroll until he is told of Jesus, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and the Lamb, who has the authority to do so because of his sacrificial victory. Chris ties this to Palm Sunday, emphasizing Jesus' entry into Jerusalem as both Lion and Lamb, fulfilling his mission of salvation. This connection highlights the importance of Holy Week, urging believers to embrace the journey through suffering and sacrifice, leading to the ultimate victory of Easter. The sermon reassures us of God's control and hope through Jesus' sacrifice, encouraging a deeper engagement with the events of Holy Week, confident in the victory already achieved.

285 – What do you do when you need healing and justice? Is there something in your life, at work, or at church right now that needs healing? What about justice? Have you or anyone you know experienced any injustice lately? And if you look at what's going on in the world as a whole, it almost seems everyone is crying out for healing and justice. What on earth is the remedy to all this? Well, the solution is never going to come from some government policy or any human organization. The only real and lasting solution comes from standing in God's presence, what the Bible calls standing before the throne of God.This week's episode talks about:What God's throne representsWhat it means to stand before the throne of GodWhat happens when you doWhat it requires of youWhat God says to you when you stand before His throneYou don't have to wait until after you die to stand before the throne of God. God is sitting on His throne–this is a metaphor for God being in complete control– right now. Whatever you're struggling with, on a personal level, or a global level, accept God's invitation to be in His presence, to stand before His throne. Rev 4:1-11 In Revelation chapter 4 we see a strange and maybe even frightful scene. As God's throne is revealed there is tremendous power and might that is revealed. And yet, in the midst of that we can see God's grace and the call to worship. Listen this week as we consider God's throne and our response.
After addressing the 7 churches in Asia Minor, John is given a vision of the throne room of God where we are oriented to the true reality of God's rule and reign over all the earth.

We have officially moved beyond the messages to the 7 churches, and now we are starting to get into the crazy phrophetic/apocalyptic stuff, and it all starts with Revelation 4. Here we see John being whisked away through a door in the heavens, where he gets to witness something that very few mortals have ever seen: the very throne room of God. This week, our pastoral intern Braden Shannon walks us through Revelation 4, as well as answers the questions: who do we worship? Why do we worship? And how do we worship? Thanks for joining us! We're glad you're here, let's get into it!

REVELATION 4:1-11 Behold Our God (4:1-6a) Praise the Holy One (4:6b-8) Worship the Creator (4:9-11)
This week we study the hymn "Before the Throne of God Above" (Hymn 561 in The new Christian Worship 2021 Hymnal), written by Irish hymn writer Charitie Lees Smith who wrote this hymn in 1863. This hymn is not found in either of our hymnals, but it is found in several other newer Lutheran Hymnals including LSB and CW21. The hymn points us to the work of Jesus for us which is complete and covers all our sin. This confidence in Jesus, the God-Man assures us that we can and should bring our prayers to our Father in heaven through Jesus who is our Advocate and serves as our ever living intercessor. We also need not fear or give into the temptation of the Devil to wave our sins in our face and wonder if they are really forgiven. Jesus paid for every sin through His death. All is forgiven. God looks at Jesus who was holy and bore our sin, and thus pardons us from our sin. Study this hymn with us, as we are encouraged to "come before the throne of God" (Hebrews 4:16) and with the confidence that our "names are written in heaven" (Luke 10:20). May the LORD give joy and confidence in Jesus' work for us! The LORD bless your worship and reminder of this important truth this weekend, and always!

In Revelation 4:1-11 John is given a glorious vision of the throne of God. Surely if God is as glorious as He's described in Revelation 4 He should be worshipped forever.
As the Unchanging Word Bible study continues in Hebrews 9, we are beginning at verse 23 today. Dr. Mitchell looks at the completeness of the Savior's sacrifice. The Person of Christ is far superior to the animal sacrifices of the Old covenant. We're studying the completeness of the work of the Savior in verses 23 -28 here in chapter nine of Hebrews. As Dr. Mitchell says of these verses, Here we have a digest, a nutshell, an overview of the past, present and future ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. He goes on further to explore the vast effect of the work of Christ on the cross as it effects a cleansing of the entire heavens. It may be surprising to learn that the believer has a closer relationship to God through Jesus Christ than do the angels. So, turn with us once again in your Bible to Hebrews 9:23 as we study along with Dr. Mitchell in today's lesson.

You have a priest in heaven. Preached March 3, 2024 Pastor Aaron Frasier
Just as the Revelation unveils the details of the end times, so Dr. Barnhouse's study of this very difficult book reveal the somewhat misunderstood content of Revelation to the one who carefully studies its pages. Proceeding verse by verse and section by section through Revelation, Dr. Barnhouse shares remarkable intellectual and devotional insights that are clearly refreshing because they are his own. His timely applications and valuable exposition make the blessing promised in the early verse of Revelation a reality for that one who studies this prophetic book.
