Send Us Your Questions/CommentsDoubt can feel like a private failure, but Luke 7 tells a different story. John the Baptist, the bold forerunner who preached repentance and pointed to Jesus, hits a wall in prison and asks the question many of us are afraid to say out loud: “Are you the one?” If a believer that faithful can struggle, then doubt isn't proof you're fake. It's a signal that something needs attention. We walk verse by verse through Luke 7:18–35 and sort out what doubt actually is. We talk about emotional doubt that grows in painful seasons, intellectual doubt that rises when life doesn't fit our expectations, and the crucial difference between honest questions and prideful unbelief. Then we look at Jesus' response: He doesn't mock John. He gives evidence. He points to what has been seen and heard, His miracles, His authority, and the good news preached to the poor, and He invites a real decision. Along the way, we connect this to spiritual growth, Christian discipleship, and why remembering God's past faithfulness strengthens your present faith. We also touch on faith deconstruction in a healthy sense: letting go of unbiblical add-ons and rebuilding on Scripture, not on 30-second snippets and half-context arguments. If you're wrestling with Christian doubt, faith questions, or disappointment with God, this conversation is for you. Listen, share it with a friend who needs it, and then subscribe and leave a review so more people can find the podcast. Even the greatest prophet had a moment of uncertainty. But rather than condemn John, Jesus gave a response that may surprise some of us. Notes: Luke 7 John, in a moment of doubt, sent a message to Jesus,“Are You the One, or should we look for another?” Doubt is a sign that someone is thinking. Send a textWelcome back, friends. Today, we step into one of the most startling moments in all of Paul's writings. If the opening verses of Galatians introduced us to the apostle's authority and the beauty of the gospel, then verses 6–10 teach us the reason for the urgency felt in this entire letter.“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you…” This is not irritation. This is not impatience. This is the voice of a spiritual father watching his children wander toward danger. And in these verses, Paul will confront a reality that is as relevant today as it was in the first century: The fact that the gospel can be distorted, and believers can drift away from the truth. Galatians 1:6–10 is Paul grabbing the church by the metaphorical shoulders and shaking them and saying, “Don't move away from the gospel.” “Don't trade grace for performance.” And don't let anyone redefine what Christ has accomplished.” To receive my weekly newsletter with updates on all five of my podcasts: subscribe on Substack.Jeremy McCandless | SubstackSupport the showFollow and support me on Patreon. Some Christians are afraid to ask questions about their faith. Instead, they bury their doubts and avoid the subjects that trouble them. But untested and unexamined faith is often shallow. Pastor John Munro teaches us how to confront our doubts, and strengthen our faith.
Every day we rely on technology or medicine that we may not fully understand. Yet questions can be answered and this doesn't result in a lack of trust. In a similar way, Pastor John Munro explains that just because we may have doubts or questions about God shouldn't keep us from pursuing or trusting Him.
Doubt and uncertainty are common struggles, but the Bible shows that even great spiritual leaders faced them. Discover how God views doubt not as a disqualifier, but as an opportunity to deepen your spiritual heart. Learn actionable steps—like wrestling with God and staying connected to others—to keep pursuing faith even when your faith is wavering.Chapters:00:00 Intro00:47 Kingdom Builder Miracle Offering03:50 How Do I Deal With Doubt?04:54 Two Key Questions12:30 Biblical Examples of Doubt19:05 God's Compassion for Doubters24:15 Dealing with Doubt28:38 Wrestling with God31:32 Embracing Faith Amidst DoubtTAKE A NEXT STEP:INTRODUCE YOURSELF
When life gets confusing and faith feels thin, is there a play you can run that gives you the best chance of making it through the depths of your doubt? That's the tension driving this message. We look at the moment Thomas hits the lowest point of his spiritual life, and yet finds a way forward — not by getting all the answers, not by forcing certainty, but by doing one simple thing most of us overlook. If you're in a season where something God said would be true hasn't shown up in your life yet, this is for you.
We all face moments when the waves feel louder than God's voice. Not because we don't believe in Him—but because we're not sure He can really work through us.In this message, we look at Peter walking on water and see doubt for what it really is: not a flaw, but an invitation. Peter didn't question Jesus' power—he questioned his own ability to do what Jesus called him to do. And that's where most of our doubt lives too. Real faith isn't pretending the waves aren't there. It's choosing to look at Jesus anyway. Doubt doesn't disqualify you. In fact, it might be the very thing that drives you closer.Key takeaway:The waves are not proof that you can't—they're the backdrop where Jesus shows you that you can.Try this:Don't ignore the area where you feel most unsure. Bring it to God honestly. Pray, “Lord, if You're calling me, give me the courage to step out.” Then take one small step—have the conversation, apply for the thing, say yes to the nudge you've been resisting. See what happens when you trust Him more than the waves.
Life can take unexpected turns. In John 11, Martha and Mary both trust Jesus, yet neither can make sense of His timing or what feels like absence. Their beliefs and emotions collide with loss, and everything feels off-balance. What do you do when what you know about God doesn't seem to fit with what you're experiencing?Key takeaway:When circumstances create doubt, hold on to who Jesus is, not just what you hoped He would do.Try this:Name one area where life hasn't gone as expected. Tell God honestly how that makes you feel. Then reread John 11 and notice how Jesus meets each sister differently, because He meets you that way too.
We all have questions we can't quite shake. Some come from curiosity, others from skepticism. In this message, we explore why doubt isn't something to hide but something to engage. In the book of Acts, we see how one group of people didn't just accept what they heard—they questioned it. Real faith isn't blind belief. It's tested, explored, and proven over time.Key takeaway:God is not afraid of your microscope. The closer you look, the more impressive he is.Try this:Don't bury your doubts—investigate them. Pick one question and go after it. Open Scripture, watch a teaching on RightNow Media, or try living out one principle that feels hard to believe. See what happens when you engage instead of avoid.
We all drift between belief and disbelief. Doubt lives in that in-between. This message opens a series all about doubt. What happens when you bring your questions into the light? Let's find out.
