The world just lost a cultural and musical icon this week, the legendary Tina Turner. Tina Turner was one of my earlier musical influences growing up and I cannot believe I let TWO years of doing this podcast go by without ONE Tina Turner Tribute. In this episode, I shared the story, history and legacy of the 1965 New Orleans-based band, "The Meters". The Meters were very influential in creating the genre of "Funk Music". They inspired Funk Legends such as James Brown, Sly Stone, Parliment Funkadelic and Cameo. I took one of their biggest hit singles, "Sophisticated Cissy" and I created and "Aarona Remake" called "Jesus Be A Fence".
