Nach dem Fernsehen im letzten Monat feiert in diesem ein weiterer Meilenstein der Kommunikationstechnik ein Jubiläum. Das nehmen wir zum Anlass, uns in dieser Folge dem Telefon zu widmen. Klar, dass es darüber eine Menge Songs gibt, denn wer erinnert sich nicht an die endlosen Telefonate mit der ersten großen Liebe? ("Leg du auf!" – "Nein, leg du auf!" usw.) Na estrada há 20 anos, o franco-senegalês Abou Tall se tornou um dos grandes representantes de um movimento de artistas no rap e no r&b francês apaixonados por ritmos brasileiros. Desde sua primeira viagem ao Brasil, em 2017, o músico desenvolveu uma profunda paixão pela bossa nova.  Abou Tall lançou em dezembro de 2025 seu terceiro álbum solo, "Monsieur Saudade II", em que segue explorando esse sentimento definido por uma palavra sem tradução em outras línguas, ou "uma nostalgia sem sofrimento", como explicou em entrevista à RFI. Em algumas faixas do disco, como "Baby Girl", também é possível ouvir Abou Tall se aventurando a cantar algumas frases em português.  Já a canção "Ronaldinho", interpretada junto ao músico francês Warren Saada, virou um videoclipe, gravado no Rio de Janeiro. A faixa, que nada tem a ver com futebol, fala de uma história de amor e de uma misteriosa brasileira que “driblou” Abou Tall. Tudo isso regado a um sample do clássico "Mas Que Nada", de Jorge Ben Jor. Muchos de estos grupos se enfrentan al expolio de sus tierras y a las agresiones, e incluso asesinatos, por parte de madereros, buscadores de oro, narcotraficantes, paramilitares y diferentes grupos que trabajan para grandes empresas. Desde hace más de 50 años "Survival" trabaja en la defensa de los derechos de los pueblos indígenas y tribales en todo el mundo y sus campañas de denuncia e información, son fundamentales para dar a conocer las realidades de estos grupos humanos. Radio Jazznoend, dedica su nuevo programa a la cantante brasileña Astrud Gilberto que nos dejó en el año 2023. Su imprevista intervención en el álbum de 1964, Getz/Gilberto, cantando la versión inglesa de los temas The Girl from Ipanema y Corcovado, junto a su esposo João Gilberto, el saxofonista Stan Getz y el compositor Antonio Carlos Jobim, la transformaron, de la noche a la mañana, en una artista profesional y erigiéndose, para el mundo entero, en la voz femenina de la bossa nova. Astrud Gilberto una hermosa e ingenua joven de 22 años, un ama de casa, como la denominaría Stan Getz, pasó en un instante del total anonimato, a encarnar en el imaginario colectivo el sueño idealizado de un país de sol, de playas desiertas y de hermosas melodías a la luz de la luna. La bossa nova hacía soñar a medio mundo y nadie quería abandonar aquel paraíso imaginado. De su rostro triste, de su voz frágil y susurrante, emanaba una sutil e irresistible sensualidad que cautivó a millones de oyentes en todo el orbe. Los discos grabados para Verve en la segunda mitad de los sesenta del pasado siglo, dan testimonio de la era dorada de su carrera. Con la llegada de los setenta, se produce un progresivo declive de su popularidad y de su actividad discográfica, paralelo a la propia decadencia del movimiento de la bossa nova con que había alcanzado el estrellato, aún cuando continuaría activa en los escenarios y clubes hasta su retirada definitiva en el año 2002. Su fama y su éxito le permitieron grabar al lado de algunos de los más grandes de la música pop y del jazz de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Figuras tales como los arreglistas Claus Ogerman o Gil Evans, el compositor Antonio Carlos Jobim o el trompetista Chet Baker. Sin embargo, su carácter reservado y su timidez, mantuvieron ocultos al público, los pormenores de su vida privada. There are a few perks to running every aspect of this site and podcast, the biggest being picking who I want to interview (and avoiding whomever I don't). Part of that, sometimes, is using film music as an excuse to interview bands that I just broadly like. Enter: Chat Pile. The Oklahoma noise rock band has one score under their belt, the 2022 indie crime flick Tenkiller, which they released as a score album after their debut God's Country, and have provided some songs for other films, most recently a track for the end credits to V/H/S/Halloween. Not to mention, they routinely talk about movies, including during their gigs. All perfect hooks to have them on, and so today I'm talking with vocalist Raygun Busch and guitarist Luther Manhole. As such, we jump around quite a bit: from their experience scoring Tenkiller, how movies brought them together and provide a mutual love, and some recent (and not to recent) scores that they've enjoyed (I'll note that at one point Ray is talking about the Bossa Nova score for Black Orpheus before getting interrupted by his dog...). We wrap up on a bit of a detour, actually talking about the economics of albums and touring, and how much a role cost of living plays into that. Os convidados do programa Pânico desta sexta-feira (29) são Jane & Herondy.O casal Jane Moraes e José Roberto Bueno de Lima, o Herondy, se conheceram em Curitiba e uniram a vida pessoal com a vida profissional.Em 1974, nascia a dupla Jane & Herondy, a convite de Magno Salerno e Airton Rodrigues, nos programas Almoço com as Estrelas e Clube dos Artistas. Nesse mesmo período, assinaram contrato com a gravadora RCA Victor e gravaram seu primeiro compacto, É um Problema.Em 1975, lançaram seus dois primeiros LPs: um para o público brasileiro e outro, em espanhol, voltado à América Latina.No ano seguinte, em 1976, ficaram conhecidos em todo o país ao gravarem a canção Não Se Vá, pela qual são lembrados até hoje. O maior sucesso da dupla ainda é recordista em vendagens de discos dos anos 1970. A música conquistou discos de Ouro e de Platina e foi considerada um dos grandes símbolos musicais daquela década. Recentemente, Não Se Vá ganhou uma versão no ritmo de forró, mostrando que o casal sempre soube se reinventar no cenário musical. Além disso, a participação em grandes programas de televisão ajudou a consolidar o sucesso da dupla.Famosos por traduzir em belas canções o amor que sentiam um pelo outro, Jane & Herondy conquistaram diversos prêmios, entre eles o de Melhores Intérpretes no Festival Internacional La Voz das Américas, na Venezuela. Ao longo da carreira, gravaram mais de 50 discos, com sucessos como Índia, Fascinação e Dois Num Só Coração.Em 1994, lançaram o livro de autoajuda Assunto de Família – Nosso Jeito de Ser, escrito por Jane e ilustrado por Herondy.Após 33 anos de união, o casal se separou. Porém, em 2010, após cerca de cinco anos afastados, reconciliaram-se e retornaram juntos aos palcos. Poucos dias depois da retomada da carreira, em 21 de maio de 2010, Herondy sofreu um AVC durante uma turnê em Aracaju. Após quatro dias, recebeu alta médica, e isso não impediu a dupla de seguir cantando suas belas músicas.Em 2017, gravaram a canção Nosso Amor é um Sonho, em homenagem aos 43 anos de carreira da dupla e aos 48 anos de casamento.Hoje, continuam em plena atividade, interpretando clássicos da MPB, Bossa Nova e Jazz. Pixies changed the alternative rock game forever. The legendary band out of Boston, Massachusetts has been credited by the likes of Kurt Cobain for their off the wall, guitar shredding influence. And they're making their way back to our shores soon with a very special set of shows. Pixies are playing two nights each in Auckland and Wellington – one night showcasing the entirety of Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde, and the other a collection of their greatest hits. The reason behind the two shows, guitarist Joey Santiago explained to Jack Tame, is twofold. “First of all, selfishly for me, we get to stay in the same city twice,” he said. “And I get to look around and relax, you know, so that's good for us.” The other reason caters to the fans, who Santiago says will be able to experience two different shows if they choose to go to both. It's been over 30 years since the release of both Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde, but in Santiago's opinion, they got them right the first time. “Every time we make a record, I'm proud of it,” Santiago explains. “After a while, when I get home I go, god damn ... did I do everything I can? Part two of RA.999: two NYC Downlow favourites go back-to-back for the first time with a jubilant homage to classic house. The RA Podcast launched 19 years ago in 2006, making it one of the world's longest-running online mix series. As we gear up to celebrate the 1,000th episode, RA.999 lands with five mixes across five days with a cohort of artists who've left a singular mark on electronic music over the past few decades. And Prosumer is a true Downlow darling—a treasured custodian and storyteller of dance music who delivered his first RA Podcast way back in 2007. "If a record doesn't move me emotionally or physically, I won't play it out," he said at the time, befitting of the impeccable curation and irresistible body groove that became his trademarks. He is, in the words of the Johnny Dangerous track in the mix, the "King of Clubs." For Peach, RA.999 marks a full-circle moment: Prosumer's 2019 closing set in the Downlow is one of her all-time Glastonbury memories. Since her first RA Podcast in 2021, the London-based artist has only grown more in-demand, with sets that typically traverse the house and techno lexicon—and occasionally R&B—with a distinctly peppy energy. Today on another encore episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to musician Jon Klages, grandson of musician and Hi-Fi proponent and record label owner Enoch Light. Our conversation with Jon began with understanding just who his grandfather was. A classically trained musician, Enoch founded his first group, Enoch Light & His Orchestra & later Enoch Light and the Light Brigade before World War II. Wildly popular in upper class New York society, Light went on to found one of the most unique independent record labels, well, ever. Vinyl collectors today will know Light's Command Records & Project 3 firstly for its unique, minimalist artwork from renowned artist Josel Albers. From classical to pop to Space Age Bachelor Pop to popular soundtrack hits and more, Light was nothing if not proficient. From albums like Persuasive Percussion to The Private Life of a Private Eye, Lights albums were visually stunning first and foremost. But take a listen to any of his albums from composers as varied as Doc Severinson, Dick Hyman, Tommy Mottola & the landmark album from The Free Design, the albums were recorded for the best audio fidelity available. The albums sound terrific. We discuss this with Jon & loved hearing about how his own mother played a role in all these recordings too.
