We are a little podcast about Reviewing audio books
Knights of the Pageless Library
Today I dive into three audiobooks! George Orwell's 1984, and Audible Original, full cast production. Ursus Aeternus, written by Qualia Reed and performed by L. Conner McGeverly, and The Signalman, written by Charles Dickens and narrated by Sam Mendes. These are three pretty quick listens, I tried to keep the episode pretty short to get my point across. Are they all three worth your time? Today I take a look at the hyper violent, hyper captivating, psycological thriller The Tower, written by Gregg Hurwitz and narrated by Scott Brick.Make sure you are sitting down when you listen to this one! This intense game of cat and mouse will have you truly wondering who will win, and who will die. Maybe no one truly wins? Let me know what you think about this one!
Well it is official, this is the most hyped book I have ever listened to. But does Project Hail Mary, by Andy Weir, narrated by Ray Porter live up to all that hype? Stay tuned to find out! Sorry for the audio quality in this one! It gets a bit peaky at times because my recording volume was lower than I realized. I will solve this for the next episode! Thanks for tuning in! Join us as we dive into a thrilling lineup of films that span horror, nostalgia, and psychological intrigue! In this video, we'll be reviewing: Salem's Lot (2024) - A chilling adaptation of Stephen King's classic vampire tale, exploring fear and small-town secrets. It Chapter Two - The haunting conclusion of the Losers' Club saga as they face their childhood fears and the terrifying Pennywise once more. The Lighthouse - A mesmerizing psychological thriller that plunges us into madness and isolation, featuring incredible performances by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. Casper (1995) - A heartwarming ghost story that mixes comedy and fantasy, perfect for a dose of 90s nostalgia. We'll discuss themes, standout moments, and what makes each film unique in its own right. Whether you're a horror aficionado or looking for family-friendly fun, there's something here for everyone!
Today I stumbled in to Blood Music, a very interesting sci fi novel written by Greg Bear and narrated by George Guidall. This book sunk its scientific fangs into me quick, and kept me hooked through most of it. It is a bizaar take on hard science fiction that delves into the quantum realm, with quite a bit of body horror. Is this now the most interesting hard sci fi book I have listened to? Today I stepped into the harrowing but beautiful tale of Lale, The Tatooist of Auschwitz. His story retold by Heathe Morris. This is a tragic, real life telling of Lale's time in Auschwitz. We bare witness to the horrors, and triumphs seen from Lale's eyes. This tale of bravery and overall triumph, even in the face of true horrors is an inspiring story. Among all of these thorns is nestled a love story that proves love can overcome all odds. I will do my best to give you a fair review and my own short analysis of this heavy title. Is this the darkest yet most beautiful story I have ever listened to? Stay tuned to find out! Here we are again! I know it took me forever but I finally got my review of Betrayal, Book two of the Monsters, Maces, and Magic series. Written by Terry W. Ervin II and narrated by Jonathan Waters. The adventure continues with our unwitting participants deeper into the world of M3! They face far more peril than they did the first time around, and this time, there is an underlying mystery as well. Will this book keep me listening to the series? Is this better than the first one? Stay tuned to find out! This book was gifted to me by the narrator, Jonathan Waters, but I still do my best to give a completely unbiased review! Today I jump into the post apocalyptic world of Wool, book 1 of the Silo Saga. Written by Hugh Howey and narrated by Edoardo Ballerini. This post apocalytpic drama takes place in a unique setting with some memorable characters. It uses very descriptive writing to make you feel like you are part of the story and really makes you care about its characters. Is this one of the best post apocalyptic stories ever told? Is it worth having an entire series dedicated to it? Stay tuned to find out! Greetings everyone, and welcome to another special episode. In todays episode I am crossing the many sands of Dune. From the 1984 David Lynch film, to the more recent Denis Villeneuve part 1 and part 2. I will also be revisiting the Dune Audiobook that was discussed on a previous episode. Buckle up because this is a long one. It will mostly be scattered thoughts and ramblings about a lot of Dune lore. But I appreciate you all being here with me! Is the entire series worth following? Is it worth going back and watching the older movie? Stay tuned to find out! Today I take a look at Dies The Fire, written by S. M. Stirling and narrated by Todd McLaren . In this story, all of our technology is taken away in a flash. Today I DIVE (haha) in to Hell Divers, written by Nicholas Sansbury Smith and narrated by RC Bray. Today I take a look at the "revolutionary" book, Silent Spring. Written back in the 60's this book was one of the first to truly take a harsh look at the realities of overuse and possible abuse of lab made chemicals, for the control of "pests". It sheds a lot of light on the malpractice and potential hazards we were facing back then, and could be facing now. Did this one absolutely change my life? Is it going to make me rethink everything? Stay tuned to find out!
