A self-helpaholic talks current epiphanies, spiritual insights and super badass psychology stuff, to real life stories about the arduous, confusing and joyful journey of transformation.
I'm back after a couple weeks off with tons to share: I quit the law firm less than a month ago and now I am a Certified Transformational Breath® Facilitator and working for Kyle Cease?! WTF LIFE. WAY TO JUST BE CRAZY AMAZING. This podcast is mostly about the recap of the Kyle Cease my family and I attended, with insights relating to: - How choosing to do more of the things that excite you the most can totally revamp your life - How trying to love others is a lack of love for yourself - How blocks are only blocks depending on your perspective - And a ton of other really amazing insights I can't even list them all So yeah. Kyle Cease is the real deal—check out his videos or Facebook page or website or whatever. You can't help but feel better listening to him speak. It's one of the biggest, best recommendations I could ever give you. Love, Emilia Ann
David and I drove to Toronto this weekend to see Matt Kahn speak live and it blew us both out of the water. I was so so so excited to share about our experience I asked Jay Nalu if I could come in today to record. I hope the insights and gifts we received translate and get passed on to you! We go on a journey though some pretty cool concepts and tools: - What it's like to be empathic/energetically sensitive and how that may affect your life - All you need to do (breathe, love thyself and bless others) - Bless others with either the opposite of what your feeling or with whatever feeling you would like to create more of in your life - The two different spiritual paths (Hint: one is for narcissists and one is for the energetically sensitive. You may be on the wrong path. I have been.) - Healing the dark night of the soul - Give your dreams, yourself and your problems space - What grief really is and how the people and animals you love help you to heal I love. Love. Love. Love this podcast. Please listen to it and heal. I hope it helps soften the edges of your heart from too many years of self-criticism. I hope the content makes you feel as peaceful as it does for me. May you be blessed with a gentle awakening into the light. Love always, - Emilia Ann
Live therapy session for Emilia by Emilia. Warning: Tears and sad subject matter. My cat was diagnosed with cancer in August 2017 after the surgical removal of tumors on her left side that had been growing for the eight months prior. I got the news the day prior to recording this podcast that the alternative therapy we were trying wasn't going to work and that we did all that we could do. This podcast goes into the feeling state associated with that news, as well as my process dealing with it. (Episode 32 does address some resolution I found after attending a Matt Kahn event a couple days prior. I highly recommend listening to that one!
Samuel Lee, MD joins me for episode 30 to talk mental health - He has gone through an inner transformation from organized religion, Western medical education, and conventional psychiatry into an expanded view of universal connection and natural remedies. Badass.
Podcast #29: So I put my notice in at work. Big. Life. Change. This podcast is basically a verbal autopsy of my current emotional state about it and some of the things that got me to this point. - Self-esteem and competency enmeshment - Addiction to cortisol/adrenaline - Self-image misalignment with job requirements Then I go into what a good work situation may look like and the ultimate vision for my work life. Onward and upward.
"The person that I date" aka David joined me this week to discuss some developments relating to our communication style after I returned from a Transformational Breath facilitator training (IVB). Basically, what I learned at my training was my severe need to start practicing "bottom lining" (say what you mean/mean what you say and say it concisely and to the point.) We also discussed the patterns of shutting down in communication and our new method of "stop, drop and breathe", if we feel the pattern coming on. People tell me that this was a really solid content podcast. I hope you get to learn from my mistakes!
Another podcast that I love - - Tarley Reed joined me to talk emotional intelligence and I was so curious to hear her take on it, seeing that she is an emotional intelligence coach. I feel super grateful to have been able to connect with Tarley. It felt divinely orchestrated and came together so easily. We had only been "introduced" over Facebook a couple of days ago and this was the first time we had ever spoken live in person- but I just had a feeling that it was right. AND IT WAS. My main takeaways were related to: - Feeling your feelings, ESPECIALLY the ones hiding underneath the surface feeling (i.e. overwhelm may be hiding the feeling you're actually afraid to feel... like depression) - Resistance is the only thing keeping emotions in place, which can stagnate your whole life and creates repeating patterns of events, relationships and pesky, pesky feelings - SLOWING IT DOWN is so, so, so important. There's no need to rush everything - "Why are you eating/walking/talking so fast?" When you slow down, you actually are able to feel the feelings that you have been avoiding and then that energy can MOVE. - When energy starts to move, your whole orientation to life will shift. Enjoy - there's some seriously good stuff in here. Love, -Emilia Ann
We can only transcend patterns if we first become aware of them. This podcast goes into the different ways that fear, desire, anger and pride may be showing up in your life. I love this shit.
In this podcast I share some real life changes from integrating emotions with the Transformational Breath® process (such as more freedom of expression, will power and enjoyment of things that used to bring anxiety.) I talk about the possibility of being able to enjoy the sensations of all of your emotions, not just the positive ones. The second half moves into patterns and dynamics of egoholism, specifically shame, guilt, apathy and grief. I go into detail on specific ways these energy fields may be showing up in your experience and how to recognize them. Really fun stuff, you guys. Enjoy. Love, Emilia Ann
I felt such gratitude during the recording of this podcast with special guest, Dan McKim. I would have been perfectly happy just to sit and listen to his story without speaking at all, (but I did say some things.) After a silly start, we talked about his recent experience at the Hoffman Institute and how it tapped him into some of the main ways he guards himself from other people - which a lot of the time shows up as little judgments or using his, albeit excellent, sense of humor to avoid vulnerable connections with others. He shared his journey from a near death experience from a serious opioid addiction... which ended up being a spiritual experience that ultimately started him on a completely different life path. Through a serious of majorly synchronistic events, he found himself with the perfect "teacher" for him at the time (Kyle Cease) and the perfect group of people aligned with his information to support his full recovery and beyond. Fast forward and now Dan is a key member of Kyle's team, managing one of the most emotionally cutting-edge companies out there that is impacting the world in such a positive way, engaged to one of the loveliest ladies there is (Kari Geddes!) and living a completely different life than he was six years ago. I feel that this podcast was chalk-full of amazing insights and a great story. We need to get Dan out from behind the camera more often! His humility, kindness and wisdom certainly shine through the recording and I am so happy to share it with you all. Love, Emilia Ann
This episode of Life with Emilia Ann is all about the ego. I talk about sneaky ways it tends to show up, like trying to associate with people you believe are better than you to increase your self-image. I also talk about the irony of trying to rush through activities that are about being in the present moment (i.e. reading A New Earth by Eckhort Tolle as fast as possible.) I talk about how hard it is to be human, under any circumstance, and about the power of making decisions in alignment with your highest good. Much love, - Emilia Ann
Sami and I have joined forces to bring you an in-depth analysis of BURDENS and self-reliance. - Speaking about your burdens and asking for advice from others doesn't actually make you feel better or make you any more clear (and it takes away your power!) - Don't waste other people's precious time telling them your burdens and asking their advice if you're not going to follow it - You only carry the burdens you wish to carry - You may be choosing to be burdened if you believe that it makes you important - Use your creative energy to create better programs! And be cool with wherever you are in the process. Enjoy the unfolding of what you want. There's no rush. Much love to you all, - Emilia Ann (and the lovely Sami Rae!)
Discusses: - Briefly about authority programs and feeling like I was going to get in trouble at work (Update: Didn't even happen. Triggered for nothing.) - Takeaways and highlights from my third visit to Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica >> You create with your attention >> No amount of external love and validation is going to make me happy >> Self-love is going to be an ongoing journey, not a quick fix >> Feeling bad is much more familiar to me than feeling good >> Just freakin' enjoy your life - Gratefulness - Power vs. Force - Prayer and free will Covered all kinds of stuff. It seemed coherent at the time. Haha. Enjoy! Love, -Emilia Ann
In lieu of a full podcast this week, I decided to share the main epiphany on my mind... The question of "what's wrong with me?" Something Paola Castro said in our live coaching session together on episode 20 really stuck with me, and it was "what if there is nothing to fix? What if you're perfect just as you are?" That message sank in all week and came to me through a couple of other sources as well. I started to realize that my entire intention for the past six years of personal development work was to fix whatever I felt was wrong with me. This intention set a negative stage for any results that were going to come of my hard work. Also, the brain answers any question you ask it. So if you ask "what is wrong with me?", it will provide you with an endless stream of answers. It's much nicer to ask questions about what is right with you instead. Much love, Emilia Ann
This podcast pushed me way out of my comfort zone. I did a live coaching call with Paola Castro (of Paola Castro Coaching), specifically about the sadness that has seemed to follow me around for the past year. At times (and even recently) it felt absolutely insurmountable and like the depression was going to swallow me whole, so I figured talking with Paola about this on the podcast she had agreed to do with me would be a fantastic opportunity and really helpful for anyone else experiencing similar feelings. She took me on a journey. And it was emotional. It's hard to describe, but you can certainly go on the journey with me, or go on your own journey to more self love and acceptance. The format absolutely lends itself to you filling in your own answers. I hope this audio brings you greater feelings of peace! It certainly did for me. Paola does coaching one-on-one and with groups. www.paolacastrocoaching.com She also has a book available for purchase! http://a.co/91kYZ6h And of course, you can find me here: www.emiliaann.com www.facebook.com/therealemiliaann instagram: therealemiliaann Love, - Emilia Ann

Lots of things about goals! - Brains and how they manufacture problems when they aren't being creative - Moving from survival goals to intentions that mirror the expansive nature of the universe - My personal story of paying off $26,000 of student loans in one year - Hacking your motivation mechanism using simple Excel charts - Overcoming apathy (i.e. finding a friend who can purposefully piss you off enough to jolt you out of it) Again, I am by no means a goal fanatic, but it's nice to achieve one every once in a while. And dorky charts really do make a world of difference. Love, - Emilia Ann
My dream has come true - my entire family joined me for episode 16 of Life with Emilia Ann. We talk about: - Adorable youth soccer coaching and self esteem raising techniques from dad - How my Aunt Aldona made Christmas Eve super special with a gratitude meditation - The way relationships with your family (specifically your mother and father) set the stage for other relationships - Healing all kinds of childhood experiences, from not being carried up the stairs to not being fed on time - Sisterly competition and desire for parental love and approval - Kylo Ren's point of view on the attachment to family - Many examples of how kindness "works" better than force =] Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Love, - Emilia Ann
Part 1: Creative Holiday and Christmas Gifts (or any other time gifts) In the first third or so of this podcast I go over my super secret method of generating thoughtful and creative gift ideas. Turns out, I have created quite the process. I teach you: - Gifting consciousness - Easy idea management / record keeping - Gift mapping and the three essential questions to ask - How to put your mind's natural problem solving abilities to work for you (That description sounded quite good and persuasive to make you want to listen to it, I think! Hooray!) Part 2: Contradictions in Personal Development In a somewhat abrupt transition, which I thought may end up happening, we moved into my musings about all of the (seemingly) contradictory information I have read and gathered in the field of personal growth in the past six years. I talk a lot about how I'm not sure what the "right" path is or what the "right" answers are. I feel a great responsibility to present things as a point of view, to make you aware that it is my perception of things I have heard, which could be just something that they have heard from someone else. On top of it, the more I read, the more I find that different people say different and often completely opposite things from one another. Is life about feeling good now or about feeling your unintegrated feelings? Is positive thinking suppression? Are people sent to show you what you have left to forgive or are they basically punishment for your negative thoughts? Is it all divinely orchestrated, whether or not you perceive it to be good or bad? I don't have the answers, like I said. But maybe listening to me talk about my own confusion will make you feel less alone, or provide some sort of consolation if you get to that point in the future where you aren't sure how it all adds up. Confusion is normal. (Also, I've heard that confusion is the first step towards true wisdom.) So. Wisdom, here I come. Hahah. Love, - Emilia Ann

This podcast discusses (in detail): - Vulnerability and(my) excuses for not being vulnerable - The structure of emotions, how to integrate them and our tendencies to avoid and distract ourselves from feeling by changing our external circumstances - The beauty and depth that comes along with repetition and familiarity, specifically when it comes to personal growth-oriented information and activities - .... AAAANNDDDD SO MUCH MORE! Love to you all. - Emilia Ann
Oh my gosh, Meg Pearson just told me the story of a lifetime - from anorexia/bulimia, shoplifting, alcoholism, grief, "failed" relationships, bottling feelings, shame, hitting rock bottom and a seriously crazy trip to the emergency room... to following her "light" and purpose and learning how to fully live. You won't want to miss this one. Meg does LightFULL Life Intuitive Coaching, Breakthrough Breathwork, Catering, Consulting & Cooking Classes in Costa Rica, US & Canada. I met her this May (2017) at a retreat center in Costa Rica, and just loved her to pieces, so now I am sharing her wonderful heart with all of you. Kristi and I talk about recent experiences in our relationships - specific beliefs that came up for review about what real "strength" is, expressing emotions and what it means when you're not okay with someone else's process of healing. (Which Kristi says "bit her in the butt" hahaha 17:00 or so minutes in.) We cover a ton - wholeness, compliments, and the tricky business of labeling. Yet again, I love it all. Enjoy! www.emiliaann.com
This week was a rough one for me, but the feedback from this episode has been amazing. Literally right before I went to record this podcast, my boyfriend and I were having one of the heaviest conversations yet about the future (or not so much) of our relationship. This podcast is me working through it in real time, since it was still so fresh. I talk about my judgments and go through and explain "The Work" of Byron Katie, as well as some concepts from Matt Kahn that helped me through accepting myself however I was showing up at the time. Love you all.
Live podcast with Nicole Rager - we talk about each of our experiences with transformational breath, the super dorky coolness of the technique itself, we give a demonstration of the breathing technique and share how the breath has helped us each integrate emotions on a deeper level than we thought possible. Super cool stuff, you guys. Enjoy. (Sorry the audio is a little far away - we recorded it on Facebook live at a transformational breath seminar in Illinois and didn't have the professional equipment with us. Still good stuff, though!) www.emiliaann.com www.facebook.com/therealemiliaann
Special guest = mom! We loved getting to talk about her path from breast cancer to a revival of joy in life - including all of the programs and "shoulds" and guilt that has sprung up along the way. We talk about listening to your gut, having fun and being okay with it all. I love this podcast! Enjoy!
My dear friend, Dr. Audrey Lefler Allshouse, Chiropractor and Master BEST (Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique) Practitioner, joined me this week to talk about how she has been able to use this unique healing modality to shift the lives of her patients. We talk about the basics of BEST and how it works, why we think it's badass, and Dr. Audrey shares some amazing real life stories of people she has treated. From aligning your conscious and subconscious brain to finding trapped emotions from your childhood to uncovering major bushwhacks on positive feelings... we cover it all. Enjoy!
Kari Geddes was just the most beautiful co-host for this podcast. She is so much more than Kyle Cease's right-hand lady, and I loved hearing about her experiences working with one of the biggest names in the transformational field. Her life (and her warm presence) reflects the extensive internal work she's done, and clearly continues to do. I jokingly (okay, maybe not so jokingly) asked her a couple of times throughout the podcast whether or not she had completely transcended emotions and humanness at this point, which she assured me she is still a work in progress. I loved recording this podcast and feel just grateful to have had the opportunity to share it with someone so wonderful. I hope you all enjoy it and get as much out of it as I did! Love, -Emilia Ann
Podcast numero 5! This week I invited my most lovely aunt to discuss meditation- the ins and outs and ups and downs and feeling it all.
David joined me this week for super real talk about relationships, communication and how to impress a woman's subconscious brain. Subscribe and follow!
Sister podcast! It's funny, at the beginning I mentioned that I had been nervous to have Kristi as a guest, because I felt this pressure for the podcast to be fun and light. It turns out that is just what it ended up being- from some serious stories of how broken toes can lead you to your life's greatest calling and illuminating the dangers of cacao nibs to your mental health, to realizing that we aren't quite sure people will be able to tell our voices apart on the recording- it was a pretty good representation of our relationship and we had a blast recording it. We hope you have fun listening to it too! Much love from the sisters.
This week's podcast felt like a whirlwind of spiritual concepts, but I think they are a good overview to get on the same page. I spent a lot of time discussing the work of Dr. David R. Hawkins and his Map of Consciousness, and how you can use his framework to view the world in a totally different way. The book I'm currently reading called "Whatever Arises, Love That" by Matt Kahn, makes a surprise appearance in act ll, mostly because I can hardly contain my enthusiasm for his writing and unique set of experiences as an empath and spiritual seeker. In all honesty, my inner critic was pretty loud during this podcast, but on second listen, it wasn't nearly as rough as I felt it was as I was speaking.
First podcast! After an outstanding weekend event with Kyle Cease called "Evolving Out Loud", he encouraged us to take a step towards something that called to us, to take a risk, to step into creativity and away from fear. My "leap" was to book my first podcast, which I had scheduled for the Tuesday I got back to Michigan so I wouldn't have too much time to think about it. Over the weekend event, I realized that one of the biggest gifts I have is my family, and I know most people do not share that same experience. It seemed appropriate and perfect to have my dad as my first guest, so I could share his amazing mind and passion for growth with others. Conversations with my dad rejuvenate me and I hope they do the same for you. Love, Emilia Ann
