Self-invention is never over until we allow it to be. We can all be on the receiving end of some pretty impressive curveballs in life, some we never imagine or expect, and we can find ourselves a bit lost; it's the decisions we make at that moment that can change everything. In this podcast, I discuss areas of my life where I felt utterly lost which I'm sure some can relate to. I'll also be joined by some remarkable guests who will be baring all, discussing some of the most painful and challenging times in their lives, with a focus on how they kept going when everything seemed against them and how they've ended up very proud of where they are today. It is my hope that by listening to this podcast it will inspire you to take a leap of faith, because you never know what's waiting for you on the other side!

I had the pleasure of speaking with World-Renowned Sculptor and holocaust survivor Maurice Blik. We talk about his time at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, but then we get into his remarkable life journey that followed through to today, including how art has played an integral role throughout all stages of his life. His words and experiences are lessons of someone with fearless determination. What is very clear is that his time, loss, and experience in Bergen-Belsen has not defined him. He is a true survivor and continues to educate and create sculpture with purpose, which you can see in his work or when you read his book (Art of Survival). His sculpture shows strength and courage, and quite clearly, so does the maker. In today's episode, I'm talking to the very talented musician Leon Bratt. If you've not heard of Leon before then, this is going to be an absolute treat for you as he performs three songs that have really impacted his life so far.  Leon talks of how he had to challenge himself in the pandemic to be the best he can, to how he met the freestyle rap artist Harry Mack and not only performed with Harry but also collaborated with him on his new single Remedy, which is being released on 18th June.  I first handedly witnessed Leon's talent 4 years ago at my local pub on a Saturday afternoon. It seems like a  distant memory now, but I remember how much I enjoyed his performance and how he encapsulated everyone in the room with all his different genres of music; I remember thinking what a true talent he was. About a year into the pandemic, Leon popped up on my social feed promoting himself on a streaming platform called Twitch.  At the time, I had zero idea what twitch was and carried on following him, enjoying the music he was uploading to his Instagram and youtube. One evening I found myself looking into the streaming platform for my own business when I remembered Leon was on there, and at that time, he was live streaming; I honestly wanted to jump around the room and cheer in excitement, one, because I felt I was back in the pub that day enjoying his vibe and reminiscing and two because he had hundreds of thousands of people all over the world which were watching with me.   Here I am, 4 years later, interviewing Leon, because not only do I love his music, but I was fascinated to understand how he had got this far in such a short space of time on a social platform like Twitch. I wanted to know how he found his way when the pandemic ultimately impacted all his income and life as he once knew it.I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.SocialPodcast - @oncelostnowproudHost - @proudmedia.coGuest - @leonbrattSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/proudmedia)

Eddie has had many curves balls and actual bricks and bottles thrown at him in life, but what I love is his willingness to carry on no matter what life throws at him. This story is separated into two parts because this story deserves that and because before Eddie's life was turned upside down in 2017, he's lived an extraordinary life that we should all pay attention to.   I think you'll agree that we can all learn a thing or two from Eddie, I can promise you, if you get nothing else, you'll laugh and that's good for the soul, Eddie is good for your soul, so press play and have a listen to Part one of Glam to Damn.Social Host - @oncelostnowproudGuest - @eddieokadamsSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/proudmedia)
