We're back, with a (slightly) new name, new intro music and new cover art! Sorry for the hiatus but after between the holidays and an unfortunate snafu with non-recording audio, we decided to take a break. We'll be coming to your favorite podcast app every other week - thanks so much for continuing to listen! This week Katie and Rebekka chat about the Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah, and all our thoughts surrounding it. By popular demand (and by that we mean at least two of you have told us you liked this one), here is the episode we did last year about creating an amazing charcuterie board. As we go into Thanksgiving week, hopefully this will inspire you to create you own masterpiece of meat and cheese. Enjoy, thanks for listening!
We chat this podcast about the baby names that were on Katie's list, the ones she ultimately decided not to go with and then the names she will use! Thanks again for listening!
Katie and Bekka chat Katie's recent travels in the Midwest, touring the Dave Ramsey studios in Nashville, and Bekka shares about her family's interaction with COVID. Thank you for listening! Show Notes: SNOO bed Whole Food grocery pickup Neaterize 4 Pack Storage Bags
First ~ please excuse a lack of intro music on this podcast and the lack of editing. My laptop audio recorder and Skype are not friends with my iOS (of course) and I (AGAIN, OF COURSE) didn't have the sound files with me, and cannot for the life of me remember which website I purchased it from, and so alas here we are, with no music. It's a total crap shoot but at least you have an episode to listen to so, you're welcome everybody! ;) But we hope you enjoy the podcast anyway! Bekka and I chat about a few random things, including the joys of air travel and fall weather. And then in a delightful story, Bekka shares how her father has jumped in feet-first into the wonderful world of coffee and it might be the best thing I've heard in a long time. Thanks for listening! We've both listened to the podcast from ABC on the Epstein case, as well as watched the documentary "Filthy Rich" on Netflix, and wanted to discuss our thoughts on the Epstein case, and human trafficking in this country and abroad. As we noted in the opening, we will be discussing matters as it relates to crimes against women and children, and assault, so please know that if you plan to listen. It's also probably best not to listen to this episode around small children. It's a sad and scary topic, but one we think needs to be discussed.
Hi guys, thanks for listening! Yes, you read that right; in this episode we talk about Katie's stepping away from (99% of) social media, our feeling on the continued outrage culture thing, and Bekka regales us with a story of her family's vacation to Mount Rushmore which involves a sheriff and their (questionable) meal at a local bar. Thanks for listening!
Bekka and Katie chat all about the appearance of Hamilton on Disney+, and our mutual love for this show and the music. Thanks for listening!
We debated whether or not to record this episode, for reasons you'll hear in the podcast. It's a scary time and things feel more divisive all the time. Ultimately, we feel like we needed to speak and as Bekka said, to be silent is perhaps worse than getting it wrong.
In case you need anything additional to watch while you're home, Bekka and Katie are offering some more suggestions in TV, Movies and also a book that Bekka loved. Have a great week, thanks for listening! We're back! You would think we'd have just unlimited time during quarantine to record, but alas, life got in the way. Hi guys! Just wanted to do a quick little update on where we've been the last few weeks. We'll still be here, just not as frequent over the next month or so as we both fast on social media for Lent. We'll record here or there, but won't be every week and wanted to let you know so you didn't think we'd dropped off the face of the Earth. We hope you're enjoying your start to spring, and thanks for listening!
Rebekka and Katie talk about Spring Break travel, Mount Rushmore (and more places we can see once and then move on), how camping just isn't our "thing" and more royal family thoughts and feelings. Thanks for listening!
Rebekka and Katie catch up, talk about the passengers stranded on the cruise ship in Japan, sewing, movies they've watched, Katie's experience trying the Beyond Burger, false eyelashes and how they hate-watched Ms Americana while Rebekka was visiting Katie in Fort Myers. Rebekka and Katie recorded a Live episode from Katie's house in Fort Myers where, in light of the recent Iowa Caucus and the political season in general, they talk about what issues would be on their platforms if they were running for President. On today's episode, Bekka and I chat about how we've been making a conscious choice to cultivate our social media, and make sure the people and accounts we're following give us joy, vs stressing us out. If you needed permission (which you don't, but let's say you did) - you can do this, too! There's no need to keep seeing crap on social media that you don't like, and if it's too high stakes to Unlike someone....that's what that wonderful Unfollow or Mute button is for. ;) Thanks for listening!
It's January and even though Bekka and I both agree we don't love New Year's Resolutions....the start of a new year does lend itself to topics where we can all be better, do better, etc. So we decided to start Season 2 and 2020 with a light, fluffy episode about....money. Stay with us! We are not coming at this as experts, or people who have done it all the right way without mistakes or missteps. We want to share some information about our stories with you more as an encouragement and a, hey guys, let's all make this a priority in 2020. Thanks for listening!

This week we’re sharing the TV shows and movies we’re loving and would recommend as we head into the latter part of 2019. We also talk about our mutual hesitation about movies like Little Women and on the forthcoming movie rendition of Cats, so there’s that too. Today’s podcast is more serious and although we don’t anticipate this podcast will go serious in the future per se, we think when something so egregious happens, and especially when it happens close to home, we want to talk about it. We talk about Carson King, the Iowa State Football fan who has raised over $1Million for the Stead Family Children’s Hospital and how during the week of September 23rd, tweets he had made as a 16 year old were made unearthed by the Des Moines Register. We talk about the story, the “apologies” made by the Register (cough, tone deaf, cough), our thoughts on cancel culture and if we think people can be truly sorry and forgiven for things they did years ago (whether they were teenagers or not). No show notes today, but if you feel like donating to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital, please click HERE. They would be an excellent recipient of your donations at any point in the year.
On this, the twentieth episode of the podcast (let’s talk about how crazy THAT is!), Bekka and Katie chat about makeup. We share what we use, what we’ve loved and also what we won’t be buying again.
