In this juicy episode we dive deep and talk about you know the word. Shame. The emotion we all feel but no one wants to talk about. Shame is "the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing we are flawed and therefore unworthy of acceptance and belonging" (Brown, 2008). It is human (and in our DNA) to need connection and belonging. In fact, at one time, our survival depended on it. For perfectionists, we are often caught up in a 'shame cycle' of not believing we are worthy. Olive talks about ways of overcoming shame, body acceptance, pleasure and self care. This episode is one that you definitely do not want to miss!! This week is National Infertility Week. Anyone can be challenged to have a family. No matter what race, religion, sexuality or economic status you are, infertility doesn’t discriminate. This is a special conversation today with the beautiful Jade Martin! We talk about adaptability when it comes to your body especially through the transitions of being a teenager to adult to parenthood. Jade and I know all to well about weight loss and extreme dieting but with that said sometimes you need to see the bad in order to see the good. Jade’s mission is to teach women about fitness and nutrition but most important to love themselves through the whole process. How do you do that!? That is what we discuss on this podcast episode today! If you know anyone who is struggling with their body and needs some insight and not to feel alone. Please share with them this episode. The best thing is to learn through other peoples experiences so that 1. You do not feel alone and 2. You have an idea of where to start moving forward! Are your workouts effective?. I go into depth on managing your TIME, ENERGY & ATTITUDE when it comes to your workouts! Just think about this for a moment Has there been a time where you felt rushed with time or low energy or an attitude/mood when it came to your workouts? I am sure you can answer yes to at least one of them, I know I sure can. When we don’t know what we are supposed to feel or even know what to do when you are working out, it can feel all over the place. Basically you feel like a hot mess. How many times has your intention been to do something - but you just didn’t have the energy? How many times have you done something - and you were in a bad mood or didn’t feel like doing it, but forced yourself, not enjoying those moments? How many times have you created a ‘to-do’ list - only to find yourself not having enough time to get it done and you get down on yourself? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to create a life where I am in any of those situations, as much as I can help it. Therefore we must learn to be super intentional, conscious and learn what we need to do to show up and crush our workout!
From running in a rat race to now what it feels like, twiddling our thumbs and waiting for things to open up is a big change mentally, physically, personally and spiritually. This is why I had to sit down with Kristen to talk to her about how we can still find ways to show up for ourselves and what we can do to find ways to win the day. It is not easy but from my own personal transformation not once but twice I can share with you that inner work is more exhausting then working and commuting. Finding ways to show up for yourself day in and day out is more then just ticking off that check mark on your to do list. Telling yourself that you matter, come first, are worth it is where you mentally have to dig deep and show up on the days that you don’t want too! Kind of like the gym! In this episode we covered: - Running the rat race- when was the moment of realization that you knew you had to stop? - What are the first steps? How do you embrace discomfort when you no longer want to do the do do do? - What are the powerful questions to ask yourself to gain clarity - How do you find acceptance love and grace in starting a new relationship with yourself? If you are looking to improve your relationship with yourself! This episode is a great starting point! In this episode, Amanda talks about the struggles she is seeing with her clients right now. What is happening? They are not feeling purposeful. They start something but never finish it. They want to feel better but do not know where to start. They feel anxious and overwhelmed and are not sleeping properly. Does this sound like you? How do you start to feel more purposeful when you are feeling frustrated, overwhelmed and sad? Where are all of these thoughts and feelings coming from? How do you start assessing a situation when you feel like this? How do you start to get clarity when you feel so much contrast in your life? Lets break it down in todays episode! If you are looking to start getting out of your own way and need some insight as to how to do that!
My goal is to help you to start having a better connection with your body. This is vital because your body needs to last for the rest of your life, and no one knows it better than you. There is no one size fits all when it comes to diet and nutrition. I want to remind you that I did not have a good connection with my body until I met my personal trainer at twenty-six years old. Our training sessions were fun and intense, and because I admired my trainer, I listened and held on to every word she ever said to me. To me, our time together was more than just moving my body and doing the exercises she told me to do. I wanted so badly to create a healthier lifestyle, which meant understanding what my body needed. My first rule of thumb when starting to connect with your body is that you should start eating more slowly, and paying attention to hunger cues like when you are overly full or satisfied. This is known as eating until you are 80 percent full. This sounds easy, right? It’s not. Not many people know their hunger cues; many of my clients are blown away by this exercise because they don’t realize how disconnected they are from their body.
Do you know your birthrights? To be honest, I didn't. And because of the time we are in right now with a global pandemic. I needed to know! Luckily, I had a Catherine reach out to me after she read my book and in our discovery call she told me that she was a personal injury lawyer with a passion for woman's birth rights! This episode is a must listen to if you are a soon to be mom, working on to become a mom or are already a mom, where ever you are in your journey, this episode is for you! In this episode we discuss: - The most common violation of rights when it comes to birth? - What to do if your rights are violated? - Do women feel in control of labor? - What are birth rights during COVID-19 - How can pregnant women empower themselves And soooo much more! Catherine is dedicated to helping individuals feel supported and empowered when it comes to pivotal moments in their life! This is a must listen to episode! The power of one thing is a huge epiphany for my clients and is a milestone to reach because all my clients including myself as a client one time wanted the WHOLE plan. I wanted to dramatically change everything in myself and I did. When I started out with my personal trainer I loved every single second of it. You could even say that I got addicted to training, workouts, eating everything, you name it. I did it. But then what happens when that becomes your everything. You start losing a bit. You could say that I was having trouble with friends because I was no longer eating what they were, you could say that my family was annoyed by my constant training and said to me that too much of something is no good. You could say that I was scared to go back to what I ‘looked like, felt like before. When you start with 1 habit you are not only making this more lifestyle base you are keeping it simple. Simple is good because our lives are so busy and are influxed with so much distraction! When choosing a habit it should be easy. You should already be doing it but don’t know that you are!
The most important thing to keep in mind is that the key to success is not to do everything at once. While you might be eager to skip ahead, I urge you to stop because you are not connecting with yourself. You are only connecting with the outcome that will not stick around. I am doing this because I am that woman who lost herself at a very young age and never really understood why she felt so different from everyone else. I was embarrassed to be me, and I felt ashamed. I hated how I looked; I resented my body and held myself back from everything because I was so scared to make a mistake and never wanted the attention to be on me. When I started my journey I was twenty-seven years old. My first personal trainer, Kasia Sitarz, opened my eyes to a whole new world. It was her wisdom and knowledge that taught me to really get in touch with myself. We had to slow things down and start right from scratch. You see, Kasia wasn’t just any- body. I respected and admired her before I started to train with her. So, when she told me to do something, I never questioned her. I just did it because I wanted to change and needed to be open to learning. One of my first lessons with her was to start listening to my body. I was learning that I could tell my body what it needed to do, and that if I focused really hard on each muscle that I was working on or moving through, my muscle fibers were going to listen and change. It was then that I understood that there was nothing really wrong with me; it was that I was never inter- ested in learning or listening.
When was the last time that you woke up and felt purposeful? Like you knew that you were going to crush your day and feel amazing? I sat there looking at my coach dumbfounded. I was thinking ‘Come on, I wanted to roll my eyes because I don't know many people who just wake up and feel happy or excited every single day. There is just no way. My coach then there told me that no one is controlling your days. You are. You are the one that is stopping your every single move. You decide how you want to be and project your days. If something did not go wrong. Why are you letting every single person or thing control your happiness. It was like a wave had just come rushing in and there I was just standing there being ambushed by all the hits of water. I was thinking how many times I let other people or things control my happiness and in the end I am the one holding a grudge and my whole day is consumed by what happened and/or I am crying or don’t go to the gym, or I lose my appetite or the opposite happens, I don't eat the whole day and then binge on a bunch of food. Does this make sense of how you are letting other persons or things control on how you want to show up, where you are allowing it because if you did not care then you would not be so caught up in whatever is dictating you and how you show up for yourself. What does this have to do with Scheduling and Routines? Well let me tell you. How do you win the day? How can you have control of your schedule? Routines and Structure why do you need it? All good questions which we are going to talk about and dive deep. My goal of this podcast is to tell you that it is important to be imperfectly perfect and that you, my friend, will always be a work in progress. Not everyday will be perfect because no one has the most perfect day but wouldn’t it be nice to understand why things don’t always go right?
This powerful podcast today will leave you feeling relaxed and restore not only did Ora Goldin and I have a powerful conversation, I also left you a snippet of her work so you can really understand the power of drumming and what it does to the left and right brain hemispheres. Drumming is fun to play but have you ever thought of it being more then just hitting the drum with sticks? Drumming through meditation allows your body to release negative feelings, invite present awareness and support the production of endorphins! That just the tip! My experience working with Ora was extraordinary especially going through infertility. You see there is not just one thing that is going to help someone, sometimes you need to find a multitude of things and this one left me feeling relaxed, restored and 'happy'. You know, that euphoric feeling because it was an experience like no other. Today, I am honored to share this podcast with you! Diet's work. They wouldn't be called diets if they didnt. Zone diet, Keto diet, Atkins diet, South Beach diet, all of them if followed will produce weight change and results. The problem is, not do they work, it's do they work for YOU. This is where the word diet gets dangerous. Chips.... NOPE Nachos.... NOPE Popcorn.... HELL NOPE When my cravings would come around when I was competing or trying to lose weight, the only thing that would stop the craving was some good old fashioned sugar. In those early days, even when I had a coach. I would beat myself up about it. I hear my clients echo my own words often from back then, "I cheated on the weekend", "I'm sorry but...", "I failed, I might as well give up" But guess what, because I know what it feels like, because I've gone through it, I know how hard they are being on themselves. I know that to improve, to get better, to succeed, they actually have to be more gentle with themselves. Gentleness with yourself while trying to improve is so important and thats what an outside perspective can bring you, as long as you are willing to listen. You wouldn't yell at anyone else trying to learn a new skill for the first time, so why are you so hard on yourself to be perfect. Some days will be struggle, but in the end it will be so worth it. Solo podcast today, Today I am talking about my mentor who saved my life. She taught me about what being an empath was, helped me find strength where I only saw weakness and taught me one of my most important lessons. She believed in me, in those times of darkness, more than I believed in myself. Now I strive to bring that not just to my clients, but to everyone I interact with. She was the first person I saw use her empathy, her ability to sense the feelings of others as a strength. I used to wonder why I would seem to mirror he emotions of those around me and feel really weak around it, especially if they were sad or negative emotions. She helped me learn to understand what was happening and I hope I can do the same for you if you feel the same confusion that I did.
This week on the podcast I wanted to talk with you on a very raw level. I wanted to talk about those fears of failure, those fears of things not going your way, the constant desire to throw in the towel and give up on what you set out to do. I felt every one of these emotions and every now and then, still do to this day. Whats changed? Listen in as I describe one of my clients and the transformation they have gone through to change their own thought processes. http://www.reloveandrise.com amanda@reloveandrise.com instagram: amandagazzola

We hear it all the time. Be yourself, Be your authentic self. You won't be happy until you are true to yourself. But what does it mean? How do you become your authentic self, how do you do the things that make you truly happy, especially if you don't even know what they are? Do you find yourself asking those questions anytime you hear that age old advice too? For me it took a complete surrender before I could find myself, find happiness and start completely fresh. On today's podcast I talk about exactly the steps that I took and that you can take to find more fulfillment in who you are, let go of the past and truly find who your authentic self is.
Ever felt like you were on a different path than everyone else? Have you woken up one morning to find that what you were doing, what you were working towards wasn't exactly what you thought it would be? Maybe you've heard some variation of "Your so busy all the time, slow down" like I used to, all the time. A decade ago I used to work 4 jobs, meal prep, goto the gym, attend functions and pretty much lived out of my car. It was a total shit show. But I was doing me, and I had somewhere I was going. I was trying to get to a place where I felt successful. I was doing what was important to me. Not to society, not to anyone else. TO ME. It's TOUGH to put your priorities first, there are definitely some regrets along the way. But you don't become who you are meant to be. You don't become the passionate, fulfilled individual you are meant to be without working on yourself first. Even if the ultimate passion in your life is to give to others, care for others, support others. You still need to have the energy, the life force, the drive each and every day to give to others to your fullest capabilities. Otherwise somewhere in your soul you will feel that nagging feeling that you could be doing more. I worked my way from the complete bottom, flying by the seat of my pants. But I was driving my own bus to where I wanted to go. Sure I took some detours along the way, but I was in control of my destination. Are you?
