No matter what stage of life you're in (but especially if you're feeling lost/unbalanced/behind at all), this episode will help guide you. We loved recording with Krista and Lindsey of Almost 30 podcast again and talking about all the changes that have happened in our own lives over the years in friendships, career, romantic relationships, breakups, and more. We discuss Saturn Returns and what age this personal transformation happens, how to trust your own timeline in life even when you feel like you're “behind,” knowing when a relationship isn't right and when to leave, communicating with a partner effectively, body image and changes, and being at your “peace weight.” We also talk about Krista's dating life post-divorce and Lindsey's motherhood journey. Before they join us, Rayna shares a story about meeting a guy in the wild and the pickup line she used, and Ashley spills some tea on a throuple who came to her recent show. Enjoy! What began as a discussion on whether our work must really be so important ultimately came to our need to know ourselves and what really fulfills us individually. And while yes, having meaningful work is profound to the joy of our lives, it's also not meant to be the end all to our purpose and calling, but a tool. For this conversation I brought on Dan Miller, celebrated career leader and author of the classic tome on work, 48 Days To The Work & Life You Love. And also, my father. He passed away suddenly in January of 2024 and his work continues to inspire so many lives. We had a conversation at a high, and deep level, regarding how we all perceive the value and importance of our work. I wanted to speak specifically to those who may be feeling stress and anxiety about finding the ultimate work opportunity. The “holy grail” and culmination of their life's purpose and calling. That can be so daunting and in this episode I feel we did justice in taking some of the pressure off the work and putting the impetus on us having a bigger view of our overall life focus. Serial Cheaters, One-Time ‘Mistakes,' and the Truth About Blame: What Every Woman Needs to Know What's the real difference between a serial cheater and a one-time “mistake”? And more importantly… was it your fault? In this episode, betrayal recovery coach Lora Cheadle breaks down the psychology behind repeat cheating, the myth of the accidental affair, and why even “good men” cheat. She also dismantles the biggest lie betrayed women believe: that they caused it. You'll learn how to spot the red flags of serial cheating, understand how partners justify their behavior, and reclaim your sanity, self-worth, and personal power—starting now. Top Three Takeaways: What really motivates serial vs. one-time cheaters The link between shame, trauma responses, and “fixing” behaviors How to release self-blame and recognize emotional manipulation Practical ways to rebuild trust with yourself (and maybe your partner) This episode is your permission slip to stop carrying the weight of someone else's choices. Truth Bombs to Remember: Cheating is Never a Mistake—It's a Series of Choices Whether your partner cheated once or many times, it wasn't an accident. Cheating is made up of thousands of small justifications before the big betrayal. Understanding that helps you release the illusion of control and start healing. You Are Not to Blame—Even If the Relationship Had Problems Having issues in a relationship does not justify betrayal. Blame-shifting (“you pushed me to cheat”) is manipulation. Even if you weren't perfect, you didn't cause the affair. The Best Defense is No Defense When your partner blames you, the most powerful response is: “You and I both know that's not true.” Engaging with lies makes them feel real. Refusing to engage is your power move. Ready to create your own Hot Girl Summer? Join us at SparkleAllSeason.com for a soulful, sexy, and supportive summer of confidence, connection, and comeback. Connection, both with others and with oneself, really is the answer to so many of life's woes. We know that investing in our relationships helps us become happier, healthier, and more fulfilled. Dr. Adam Dorsay, author of the book Super Psyched: Unleash the Power of the 4 Types of Connection and Live the Life You Love, walks us through this straightforward but vital idea in this episode: that the antidote to the uniquely modern angst so much of us experience today is connection. Sounds simple, right? Well, not always, when there are so many pulls on our attention and shiny goals to strive towards. Dr. Alexandra talks with Dr. Adam about how connection isn't just about spending time with others, but so much more than that—an emotional state of aliveness and vitality. Dr. Adam Dorsay is a licensed psychologist and executive coach in Silicon Valley, where he works with high-achieving adults. He is also a resiliency expert and co-creator of an international program for Facebook's Online Safety employees. In this episode, you'll learn why so many high-achieving folks feel unfulfilled, even when they seem to have everything at their fingertips. You'll also get pointers from Dr. Alexandra and Dr. Adam about how to prioritize connection in your life, which will lead to more happiness, stability, and gratitude. Emotional vs. Physical Affairs – Which Hurts More (and Why It Matters) This is part two of the Why Did They Cheat? series—a four-part journey to help you decode betrayal, find your footing, and reclaim your power. Is an emotional affair really “just” a friendship? Is a one-night stand easier to forgive than a years-long emotional betrayal? In this revealing episode, betrayal recovery coach and attorney Lora Cheadle breaks down the core differences between emotional and physical affairs—and why each one requires a different healing process. Learn how each type of betrayal impacts your identity, body, and soul—and how to start rebuilding yourself from the inside out. Top 3 Takeaways: Emotional Affairs Cut Deeper Than We Realize Emotional betrayals often feel more painful because they involve secrets, emotional intimacy, and being shut out of your partner's inner world. They strike at your identity and your sense of worth. Physical Affairs Activate Shame and Insecurity Physical infidelity can trigger body shame, fears about sexual adequacy, and deep questions around desirability—especially in a culture that already pressures women to look and perform a certain way. Healing Requires the Right Tool for the Right Wound Emotional betrayal heals best through somatic (body-based) practices, while physical betrayal often needs emotional and spiritual processing. True healing includes repairing your relationship with yourself before your partner. Here's the thing. We only have this one life here on earth. And since our time is so limited, it should be filled with things that bring us true happiness. Whether that's work, family, travel, or passion projects. Creating a life you love should be a pursuit we all strive for. That's why I'm so excited to welcome Catie Hogan to the show today. Catie is an entrepreneur, mom, speaker, comedy writer and she's made multiple career shifts. Catie and I are going to talk about how women can create a life they love and how to leverage money to help them in the process. Here's a glance at this episode: [03:20] Catie's trigger was student loan debt. She found herself in a dark place thinking about how to pay off six-figures of student loans. [11:08] Catie saw a shift in how her parents' handled money. That had a big impact on Catie growing up. [21:54] Investing in a 401k is a great starting point. Make this a priority if you can, because it is a way to get started. [30:49] As she's gotten older, Catie has found it easier to say no to things that don't align with her values, financial and otherwise. [38:29] Catie walks through the process of writing a parody play and how it ended up getting on Broadway. Rate, Review, & Follow: Did you love this episode? Why Did They Cheat? The Real Reason Behind Infidelity (It's Not What You Think) This is part one of the Why Did They Cheat? series—a four-part journey to help you decode betrayal, find your footing, and reclaim your power. Think cheating is about sex, lack of love, or unmet needs at home? Think again. In this powerful episode, betrayal recovery coach and attorney Lora Cheadle uncovers the deeper psychological reasons behind infidelity—including avoidance of self, unhealed trauma, and a desperate search for validation. Whether you're staying or leaving, understanding why they cheated has nothing to do with you—and everything to do with them. This is part one in a four-part series on decoding betrayal. Top 3 Takeaways: Cheating is a Maladaptive Coping Strategy Infidelity is often driven by unresolved emotional pain and a lack of healthy coping skills—not by dissatisfaction in the relationship or lack of love. They Didn't Cheat Because of You The betrayal is not about your worth or actions. It's about their inability to face themselves, process their emotions, and validate their own identity. Understanding is Not Excusing Gaining insight into your partner's behavior helps you reclaim your peace and stop blaming yourself. But understanding is not the same as letting them off the hook—accountability and healing must still happen. Who This Is For: Women recovering from infidelity who want clarity and calm Anyone struggling with self-blame after betrayal Listeners curious about the deeper emotional roots of cheating Subscribe, Rate & Review: If this episode spoke to you, share it with a friend and leave a review—it helps other women find the support they need! Description: In the summer of 2020, as Jen was beginning to process the loss of her 26-year marriage, there was one person walking her own similar but different journey, and understood many of the feelings of anger, grief, shame, and loss that Jen was just beginning to feel. Someone who knew how that disappointment felt. Jessica N. Tuner, founder of the popular lifestyle blog The Mom Creative, was a few months ahead of Jen in processing the loss of her 16-year marriage to her husband and father of her three children. Today, Jessica shared with Jen and Amy what the road to recovery has looked like for her, including grieving the end of the life she thought she would have forever, the change of her identity, navigating the messy false-starts, and clawing her way back from what felt like “the floor of hell”. Jessica compiled those hard-fought lessons into a book she's hoping will be a manifesto of hope to others, called I Thought It Would Be Better Than This: Rise From Disappointment, Regain Control, and Rebuild a Life You Love. *** Thought-provoking Quotes: Nothing about what I thought my life was going to be, is my life now. Now I feel like I walk around in the world and I feel grief and loss and disappointment and dismay from everybody. It's amazing how my eyes have opened. It was a big awakening to the loss people are living with everyday.–Jessica N. Turner When we made the decision to divorce, I felt like I was sitting on the floor of hell, everything was dust, everything was different.–Jessica N. Turner No matter how devastating the loss, the life you can still rebuild is astonishing. – Jen Hatmaker Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Say Anything film (1989) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098258/ Sixteen Candles film (1984) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088128/ Cameron Crowe - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001081/ John Hughes - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000455/ James Spader - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000652/ Some Kind of Wonderful film (1987) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094006/ I Go Crazy by Flesh for Lulu - https://open.spotify.com/track/2o1AevEuv39qZAVy6k2pmn The Breakfast Club film (1985) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088847/ Weird Science film (1985) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090305 Ferris Bueller's Day Off film (1986) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091042/ Planes, Trains and Automobiles film (1987) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093748/ Uncle Buck film (1989) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098554 Pretty in Pink film (1986) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091790 Beethoven film (1992) - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103786 I Thought It Would Be Better Than This: Rise From Disappointment, Regain Control, and Rebuild a Life You Love by Jessica Turner - https://amzn.to/40yC1fF Outlander - https://www.starz.com/us/en/series/outlander/21796 Onsite - https://experienceonsite.com/ ONSITE COURSE [BOOK ORDER BONUS]: What now?
