Discovering the Slavic culture is not easy. Scientific sources are scarce, and oral tradition tainted by Judaeo-Christian point of view, imposed on our ancestors with fire and sword. Written sources come from historians or travellers looking at the culture of Slavs with the eyes of a witness, not a participant and usually from the perspective of a foreign (Roman, Arabic, Judeo-Christian) culture. Archaeological discoveries require interpretation by modern researchers which obviously blurs the original meaning of the artefacts. Large part of the “Witia” project is an attempt to look at the Slavic culture with the eyes of a pagan, with an open-minded approach and respectful curiosity. Listening to the whispers of our Slavic souls we try to separate interpretations from facts and find in our heritage the elements which were suppressed by the hundreds of years of Christianisation.

This episode has no bibliography, as it is based on one of the very first blogposts, written in times, when I thought that bibliography would make my blog look pretentious. After listening to this episode you will however realize that what I am talking about is not really a rocket science and any basic internet search on Slavic demonology can verify my statements. WHO statistics I cite can be found on WHO website. The basic requirements necessary to fulfil before you become a Rodnover.
Erratum! At 7:36 should be 49,6, not 29,6 (obviously… I am not sure how this mistake happened…)
We all now that Slavs like to argue. We consider it a fault. But is it really?
Pre-Christian Slavic ethics - what do we know about it, what we can guess and what we have absolutely no proof of.
What sacrifices should modern Rodnovery make to please (instead of offending) the old Gods?
What should modern Rodnovers pray for (and why not for fertility of the land)?
What we (the modern Rodnovers) do wrong?
