Part 3 of 5, over the next 5 weeks we will be talking about Relationship. There are two types of people in the world and it is what the narrative of any good story is centered upon. It is a narrative we tend to believe of about pretty much everything. That narrative being one of Good Vs. Evil. Good is always relative and tends to be defined as a biography of the one giving the definition. This definition being driven by pride and the desire to elevate ourselves. In Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis says that "Pride is competitive in its nature, that Pride gets no pleasure out of having something, only out of having more than the next person." This type of Pride, evil sinnfull Pride that comes from comparison, "the essential vice, the utmost evil, is Pride. Unfaithfulness, anger, greed, drunkenness, and all that, are mere flea bites in comparison: it was through Pride that the devil became the devil: Pride leads to every other vice: it is the complete anti-God state of mind." In Luke 18:4-9, Jesus draws the line between humble people and proud people; those who have humility and those who are prideful. Is your story like that of the Pharisee and the Devil? If you want to be a rebel, you can be... but it will destroy you. Humility, is having a sober sense of reality. In Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis says "In God you come up against something which is in every respect immeasurably superior to yourself. Unless you know God as that—and, therefore, know yourself as nothing in comparison—you do not know God at all. As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you." "... If anyone would like to acquire humility, the first step is to realize that you are proud. If you think that you are not conceited, it means you are very conceited indeed."

Part 2 of 5, over the next 5 weeks we will be talking about Relationship. We are not talking about numbers, but we are talking about names. In this world in which we live there are two types of people, those on the giving end of the gospel because they have already received it and those on the receiving end. We are not going to talk about being motivated, or being inspired, but loving Jesus and having the willingness to do whatever it takes to honor Jesus across planet earth. You do not have the right to worship a Jesus who died for you if you will not go out and die for Him.
Part 1 of 5, over the next 5 weeks we will be talking about Relationship. "Your love for one another will PROVE to the world that you are my disciples." John 13:35 We do not have to worry about having all of the right answers, because Jesus says this is the proof that we belong to Him. BY THE WAY THAT YOU LOVE PEOPLE --> Community Speaks Louder Than Argument Why is this the Commandment that John is so obsessed with in 1 John? Why is this the thing that the beloved spends so much time on?
Part 5 of 5, over the last 5 weeks we have been talking about Worship. "If the Cross proves how much we are Worth to God, then our Worship proves how much God is Worth to us." ~ Zach Neese, How To Worship A King Whether or not you have an instrument in your hands, you are a worship leader. You are leading people into worship. Our lives are pointing to what we believe is most worthy. What you give your time to, your money to, what you sacrifice for... that's the thing that you really find wort it and that's what you worship. In all of our lives, we are all worship leaders worshiping something. We are each created to Glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Glory - syn (weightiness, beauty, magnificence, worthiness) Somebody or something, isn't really glorified until it is recognized. Until their glory is really recognized, they are not really being glorified. When we see God's glory in comparison to ours, it will change us. In Isaiah 6, Isaiah sees God's glory and is forever changed. Have you had an Isaiah 6:5 moment? We look to the world and having it direct our lives and the result is we are worthless. Only the Master, when we are submitted humbly and joyfully, can make our lives of worth.
Part 4 of 5, over the next 5 weeks we will be talking about Worship. In the future when the world ends, God is worshipped in Glory, Honor and Power. What does it mean then, for the Faithful of God, to cast their crowns before the Throne of God and sing, "You are worthy O'Lord to receive Glory, Honor, and Power." When we do not abide in Jesus with extravagant time spent with Him, everything in our life is seen unclearly and identified way out of proportion. When God is our acquaintance instead of our friend, we find love and recognition in lesser things which always has a habit of making us less. Worship is the surrender of recognition, seeing God clearly and identifying Him correctly as God. Worship is a surrender of concern, treating Gods heart carefully. Worship is the surrendering of rights, giving our power to God, the only one qualified to rule. Are you holding onto the throne of "mine?"
Part 3 of 5, over the next 5 weeks we will be talking about Worship. Worship, means to bow down - inwardly and outwardly, it is an Attitude and an Action. Music is powerful, so it's not hard to see why it plays so much of a role in modern worship/what church we choose to attend. However, we can not allow the emotions and feelings stirred by music to dictate our worship. Music is not needed for us to Worship the Lord. Worship is our response to Who God is and What He has done. In order to respond in Praise we have to have a thought about Who He is and What He has done. Praise, is the process of making known/conveying/putting into words ones thoughts/feelings/emotions/opinion.
Part 2 of 5, over the next 5 weeks we will be talking about Worship. Is Prayer different than Worship? What kind of Prayer does God answer? Whose Prayers does God answer? If Worship is taking attention off of ourselves and putting it onto God. Point of the matter is, you can not Pray to God unless you have your attention on God.
Part 1 of 5, over the next 5 weeks we will be talking about Worship. Worship --> Worth-Ship - however much something is worth, you will give up more for it. Worship is not exclusive to Christianity, quite the opposite, the bible says we were created for worship and therefore we all worship something. We are intrinsically needy beings. What do you worship? What do you bow to? What do you give your time to? Luke 14:26 - "If any of you come to me and don't hate your father and your mother, your wife and your children, your brothers and your sisters - yes, and even you own life! - you can't be my disciple" What is Jesus talking about here in this passage?
God has a plan and knows what is coming. He places things on our hearts and gives us dreams, and our response has to that of obedience. Sometimes though, obedience looks a lot like waiting. You have to remember: We are all part of missions. Not only here at home are we a part of a family and an army, but there is a global family and army of believers.
Put the offering plate on the floor and step into the plate. That's what God wants from you and what He gave to you. There's opportunity for every single one of us to be a missionary. We will all have an opportunity, if we want to take it, to in the name of the Lord with His provision if our hearts are full to serve and to love.
Imagine what God could do for this campus, for the lost of the world if we were to fight for them... if we each took a step of obedience syaing, "Yes Lord, whatever you will have I will do." What if you were told the Great Commandment, in Matthew 28, was just that? What if you were told it was a command to go? Then that could mean only one thing, you would have to be called to stay.

What God does in us, He wants to do through us. Though at times we quench what God wants to do through us because we find it inconvenient or are to afraid... Making the task of taking the Gospel to the Nations so difficult.
CAUSE: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NKJV) EFFECT: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14 (NKJV) It has been 2,000 years later since this language of God was spoken, and yet there has been no return of King Jesus. This absence of Christ has 2 logical conclusions. (1) Either God is not where He is supposed to be or, (2) we are not where we are supposed to be.
Our generation is the most empathetic, sympathetic, and generous generation that has ever been, but we are also the most in debt. This being the case, why is it so weird for Christians, when it comes to talking about money in the Church? 16 of Jesus's 38 parables had to do with money, wealth, or resources, over 2,000 verses in the entire Bible are about money and giving. In one such parable, The Parable of the Talents [Matthew 25:14-30], the master leaves on a very long journey and entrusts his servants with portions of his wealth while he is away. Upon his return why are two of the servants met with, "well done good and faithful servant", and one of them with, "you wicked and slothful servant"? Why is the one servant wicked and lazy? Is this a fair assessment of his character?
Love Is - Unselfishly Choosing for the Highest Good of Another [Luke 10:25-37] Who is your neighbor? The person that you are in a position to help, that is who your neighbor is.
What are you filling your cup with? Will acid or honey pour out when it gets kicked over? The things you set your mind on and the things you fill it with, are what fill your cup.
What was the purpose of Jesus's life? His life was about revealing the Father, many people are cool with Jesus and what He taught but not the Father.
Jesus is our groom that will come back to marry His church. We must see Him as our ultimate lover.
Have you ever realized that things have gone terribly wrong and wondered how things got to that point? Odds are that it started with one small bad decision.
The gospel begins and ends with intimacy with God.

After reconciling relationship with God, we have a responsibility to pick up our cross and deny ourselves.
The chief end of man is to glorify God & enjoy Him forever. Why is this important and how can we do it?
