Take the Roof Off — Living Without Limits Through Faith and Power • Friday Service To support this ministry: www.ToddCoconato.com/give Website: www.PastorTodd.org Mark 2:4–5, 11–12 (NKJV) “And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven you.' ‘I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.' Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, ‘We never saw anything like this!'” Mark 11:22–24 (NKJV) “So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.'” Isaiah 10:27 (NKJV) “It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV) “And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” Jeremiah 1:9–10 (NKJV) “Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: ‘Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.'” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” John 14:12 (NKJV) “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV) “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” CCLI: 21943673

Come Out of Her: Understanding Babylon, the Beast System, and the Urgency of This Hour • Sunday Service   If you'd like to support the ministry, please visit: www.ToddCoconato.com/give Learn more at: www.PastorTodd.org   We are living in one of the most prophetic and spiritually critical moments in human history. The systems of the world are shifting. New technologies are emerging. Lines are being drawn. And what we are witnessing, if we have eyes to see and ears to hear, is not just the march of innovation — it is the rise of Babylon and the formation of the beast system. Today, I want to expose what's really going on behind the scenes — spiritually, biblically, and practically — and why the Church must wake up, come out, and stand firm in the truth of Jesus Christ.   1. Revelation 18:4 (NKJV) “And I heard another voice from heaven saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.'”   2. Revelation 13:16-17 (NKJV) “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark…”   3. Daniel 3:17-18 (NKJV) ”…our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace… But if not, let it be known… we do not serve your gods…”   4. Isaiah 5:20 (NKJV) “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness…”   5. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NKJV) “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first… who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God…”   6. Revelation 17:5 (NKJV) “And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”   7. Revelation 13:7 (NKJV) “It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.”   8. Matthew 24:24 (NKJV) “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”   9. Revelation 18:23 (NKJV) ”…For by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.”   10. Ephesians 5:11 (NKJV) “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”   The Modern Beast System Is Emerging: 1. Project Astra (by Google DeepMind): This AI assistant can “see,” “hear,” “speak,” and interpret your surroundings in real-time. It's being marketed as helpful, but what's emerging is a tool that can literally monitor and interact with your physical world — a watcher embedded into your daily life. It learns everything about you — and you don't even realize you're training it. 2. Palantir Technologies: This is one of the most powerful data-aggregation companies in the world. They create detailed profiles on individuals using surveillance, social media, financial transactions, medical history, and more. It's not just for terrorism prevention — it's the architecture of control. What you say, what you post, where you go — it's all being recorded and mined. These tools are laying the foundation for total control, where you will be known, tracked, predicted, and possibly restricted based on your beliefs, behaviors, or resistance. We are watching the system of Babylon rise right before our eyes. The beast system is not coming — it's already here, in prototype form. The only escape is not rebellion, not politics, not fear — it is Jesus Christ. He is our deliverer. He is our strong tower. He is our hiding place. Now is the time to come out of Babylon. To refuse compromise. To live holy. To be filled with the Spirit. To know the Word. And to stand as the Remnant — bold, awake, and ready.   CCLI: 21943673

For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.” - Exodus 16:3 NKJV “It's three months since they've left Egypt. They started a new calendar the moment they stepped foot out of Egypt. So now time is being reckoned in relation to his work of deliverance. And he tells them, we're entering into covenant. If you obey me and keep my covenant, then out of all the nations, you're going to be my treasured possession.”  - Carmen Imes “9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.  - 1 Peter 2:9&10 ESV

Too Many Voices, Not Enough Truth: Why Many Christians Are Stuck, Confused, and Unstable   Website: www.PastorTodd.org To Give: www.ToddCoconato.com/give    Too Many Voices, Not Enough Truth: Why Many Christians Are Stuck, Confused, and Unstable We live in a time where advice is everywhere. Social media, YouTube, podcasts, self-help books, and even well-meaning friends and mentors are constantly offering their opinions on life, faith, relationships, and purpose. As Christians, we're told to seek wise counsel—and that's a good thing. But what happens when we're listening to so many different voices that we lose sight of the only voice that truly matters? For many believers, this is exactly what has happened. They're bouncing from one spiritual leader to another, taking bits and pieces of advice from different sources, and as a result, they've become spiritually unstable, confused, and double-minded. Too Many Voices = Spiritual Confusion There's a reason James 1:8 says:  “He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:8 NKJV) Double-mindedness happens when we don't have a firm foundation. One day we're convinced God is calling us to something, and the next day, after hearing a different perspective, we start doubting everything. We shift from one teaching to another, from one prophetic word to the next, from one pastor's message to another YouTube preacher's opinion—all while neglecting the one place that should be anchoring us: God's Word and a strong, biblical community. When we're constantly looking for fresh revelation from multiple sources instead of being planted where God has called us, we end up more confused than we were before. The Danger of Unfiltered Influences Not every voice speaking into your life is from God. Some are mixed with personal opinions, cultural influence, or even deception. The Bible warns us:  “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV) Yet many believers have invited confusion into their lives by exposing themselves to teachers, influencers, and “spiritual guides” who may sound good but are not actually speaking truth. Some Christians run from conference to conference, church to church, mentor to mentor, never truly rooting themselves in one place. They're spiritually spread thin, and it's keeping them from growing. Being Planted vs. Being Scattered The Bible makes it clear that stability comes from being planted.  “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.” (Psalm 92:13 NKJV) When you plant something, it stays in one place long enough to grow roots. It doesn't uproot itself every time the wind blows or a new gardener comes along with a different watering technique. But many believers today are spiritually uprooted—always looking for the next exciting revelation, the next big teacher, or the next prophetic word that will finally make everything clear. This constant uprooting leads to: ✅Spiritual instability – Never feeling settled, always questioning.  ✅Confusion – Not knowing whose voice to trust.  ✅Lack of direction – Feeling like you're in a cycle of waiting but never moving forward.  ✅Discontentment – Feeling stuck and unsatisfied in your current season. What's the Solution?  1. Stop Chasing Every New Voice & Anchor Yourself in the Word  • There's nothing wrong with listening to sermons and podcasts, but your main source should be the Bible.  • If a teaching contradicts Scripture, it's not from God—period.  • Be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11—test everything against God's Word.  2. Get Planted in a Biblically Sound Church or ministry.   • If you're constantly hopping between churches and ministries, ask yourself: Why am I avoiding commitment?  3. Be Discerning About Who You Listen To  • Just because someone has a platform doesn't mean they're speaking truth.  • Ask: Does this teaching align with Scripture? Is this pointing me to Jesus or just exciting my emotions?  4. Pray for Clarity & Obedience  • Sometimes confusion comes because we're hearing what we want to hear instead of what God is actually saying.  • Pray for wisdom and the courage to obey what God has already spoken to you. Final Thought: It's Time to Get Rooted If you feel stuck, frustrated, or spiritually unstable, ask yourself: Am I listening to too many voices? Am I truly planted where God has called me, or am I constantly uprooting myself? God doesn't want His people confused or double-minded. He wants us rooted, growing, and bearing fruit. It's time to stop chasing every new word and start trusting the One who never changes.  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV) It's time to get planted. It's time to stop running. It's time to trust Him.

SCANDALON  Circumstances do not make you what you are … they reveal what you are! It's our reaction that matters. James 1:19 (Amp) – Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry.   Slow to speak – if we get this right everything falls into place. Our response to scandalon determines our credibility.   So what is a scandalon? It's the Greek word for “offend”, [struikelblok, aanstoot te gee]. It refers to the part of the trap to which the bait is attached The word ‘offend' means: a trap or a snare – stumbling block. Explain a trap with the bait – It's not always visible. We are all more than likely to take the bait many times in our lives. Jesus said in: Luke 17:1 (NKJV) – “It is impossible that no offences should come.” Offence is a tool of the devil to bring people into captivity. If you give him a foothold it becomes a stronghold. Satan is not sitting in an armchair waiting for hell. Revelation 12:12 (NIV) – Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them!  But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you!  He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”   Paul warned – 2 Timothy 2:24-26 (note verse 26) 2 Timothy 2:24-26 (LB) – 24 God's people must not be quarrelsome; they must be gentle, patient teachers of those who are wrong. 25 Be humble when you are trying to teach those who are mixed up concerning the truth. For if you talk meekly and courteously to them, they are more likely, with God's help, to turn away from their wrong ideas and believe what is true.  26 Then they will come to their senses and escape from Satan's trap of slavery to sin, which he uses to catch them whenever he likes, and then they can begin doing the will of God. Because of hurts, bitterness, unforgiveness, quarrels, opposition, unresolved differences, carrying grudges. People fall into the trap/snare and are then held by the devil as a prisoner to do his will. The devil wants to destroy relationships in marriages, families and churches. If he succeeds, he achieves a great victory – Why? Unity goes Joy and Peace goes Vision goes – Purpose goes The very essence of our calling losses impact. People take the bait of offence so quickly without thinking of the consequences. LET IT GO! The worst part is most times people are unaware of their captivity. The saddest thing is to see a person so deceived. He believes he is right even though he is not. Pride causes you to view yourself as a victim. People think or say, “I was mistreated and misjudged, therefore I am perfectly justified in my Attitude Behaviour. Because you believe you are Innocent you hold back forgiveness. Notice verse 10 says “Many - not a few, not some” Matthew 24:10-13 (LB) – 10 and many of you shall fall back into sin and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and lead many astray. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere and will cool the love of many. 13 But those enduring to the end shall be saved. (Those who do it Gods way) I believe one of the great key ingredients that tests relationships is offence. Can I just say this: “We set ourselves up for offence” when we expect or require certain behaviours – from those whom we have relationships. Listen, the more we expect, the greater the “potential” offence. There are times we must give grace to others. Proverbs 18:19 (LB) – It is harder to win back the friendship of an offended brother than to capture a fortified city. His anger shuts you out like iron bars. Don't forget Jesus warned us that offence will come... Luke 17:1 (NKJV) - “It is impossible that no offences should come.” Did you know there are 4 stages of relationships? It's good to remember that: People judge us by our actions, not our intention, (“Example, Diet”) You can't get thin on your intentions “You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.”                                                                                 -Henry Ford Relationships don't just happen; you and I must make them happen. Don't give offence and don't take it. 4 Stages Courtship / Fellowship Confrontation / Conflict – “Offence Zone” Growth / Maturity Multiplication #1 Courtship/ Fellowship (The Honeymoon stage) Like the engagement stage, we just except one another and love one another we willing to overlook anything we see in the other person. We put our best foot forward. #2 Confrontation/conflict The grass is greener on the other side because there's more manure there! David said: Psalm 55:12-14 (LB) – 12 It was not an enemy who taunted me—then I could have borne it; I could have hidden and escaped.  13 But it was you, a man like myself, my companion and my friend. 14 What fellowship we had, what wonderful discussions as we walked together to the Temple of the Lord on holy days.   Confrontation requires boldness not arrogance. Humility and peace seeking. Confrontation is an opportunity for forgiveness. The aim: To heal and restore the Relationship. Think about this: Any relationship within the family of God is going to be as good as you want it to be.   Romans 12:14-19 (LB) – 14 If someone mistreats you because you are a Christian, don't curse him; pray that God will bless him. 15 When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, share their sorrow. 16 Work happily together. Don't try to act big. Don't try to get into the good graces of important people, but enjoy the company of ordinary folks. And don't think you know it all!  17 Never pay back evil for evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honest clear through. 18 Don't quarrel with anyone. Be at peace with everyone, just as much as possible.  19 Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God, for he has said that he will repay those who deserve it. Don't take the law into your own hands. You will either grow or go!   #3 Growth / Maturity This is when we do it God's way - not our own way Maturely loving one another in spite of our shortcomings. Proverbs 19:11... it is to one's glory to overlook an offence. Romans 15:1-2 (Amp) – We who are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak; [we ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others] and not to please ourselves.  2 Let each one of us make it a practice to please (make happy) his neighbour for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him [to strengthen him and build him up spiritually].   #4 Multiplication Matthew 13:23 (Amp) –  As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty.   This is when relationships are now mature enough to move on. You can now encourage and be an example to others. And thereby develop other meaningful relationships. Never before in History as in the 21st Century: Has knowledge increased in the church at the rate it is. But with all this increased knowledge... We seem to experience: More divisions among believers and leaders. More hurts and bitterness and unforgiveness. More couldn't care-less attitudes toward relationships. We know it ALL but we don't live it ALL. 1 Corinthians 8:1 – Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up and encourages one to grow (to his full stature). If we keep the Love of God as our Motivation. In all we do or say, we will not fail. Love Never Fails.   1 Corinthians 13:5,8a (Amp) – 5Love is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride), it is not rude (un)mannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.  Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way for it is not self-seeking, its not touchy or fretful or resentful, it takes no account of the evil done to it (it pays no attention to a suffered wrong). 8aLove Never Fails 1 Peter 4:8 (Amp) – Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins (forgives and disregards the offences of others).

John 20:24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe." 26And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!" 27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing." 28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." 30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.   The disciples keep on telling Thomas that they have seen the Lord, but Thomas refuses to believe unless he sees for himself.  Remember he is only asking for what the others have already experienced.  So, we will see Jesus make a personal appearance eight days later so that Thomas can see Him and believe. Jesus offers for Thomas to put his finger in His side and in hands where they have been pierced by the nails that held him to the cross.  Then Thomas makes that greatest of all confessions of faith when He says My Lord and my God.  Jesus tells Thomas he is blessed because He saw and believed, but there is a greater blessing for those who just take it by faith that He rose from the grave. He finishes up the chapter by giving us the purpose statement of the whole book of John. He wrote about the seven signs that we might trust in Christ and have eternal life forever because of Jesus. John's previous pictures of this disciple present him as a loyal and courageous, though a somewhat pessimistic, follower of Jesus. His more common identification as a doubter comes only from the present event. Thomas had no doubts that Jesus had died. This is another evidence that Jesus really did die. The Greek text clarifies that the other disciples kept saying (Gr. elegon, imperfect tense) that Jesus was alive. In spite of this repeated verbal testimony by those who knew Him best, Thomas refused to believe (cf. 4:48). He had become so thoroughly convinced that Jesus was dead, as evidenced by his references to Jesus' wounds, that he could not see how Jesus' crucifixion could be overcome. 24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. Joh 11:16 How much Thomas missed because he did not meet with the other disciples on the Lord's Day Heb.10:22-25  He had to endure a whole week of fear and unbelief unnecessarily.  25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe." The disciples seem to have been convinced of our Lord's resurrection, except for Thomas who was not there. He did not see the resurrected Lord, nor did he behold the Savior's wounded hands and side. And so it was that when Thomas was told that Jesus had appeared to them, he refused to believe. He insisted that in order for him to believe, he would have to see Jesus with his own eyes. He would have to personally inspect the Lord's nail-pierced hands and His pierced side. Only then would he believe. Before we become too harsh with Thomas, let me remind you that the other disciples did not believe until they saw, either. Thomas is really demanding to see the same things that convinced the others. He is not asking for anything more than what the others saw. Eight days passed. Apparently Jesus did not appear to any of His disciples during this period of time.  26 ¶ And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!" Jesus again materialized in the presence of these disciples as He had a week earlier (v. 19). He also repeated His benediction (v. 21). Perhaps Jesus did these things because the disciples had told Thomas that He had appeared this way and had said these things. This would have bolstered Thomas' faith.  27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing." 1Jo 1:1 Jesus knew what Thomas had said even though He had not been physically present when he had said it. This is further proof of Jesus' deity. The purpose of this test was not just to satisfy Thomas' curiosity, however. It was to bring him to faith that Jesus was the resurrected Messiah. When Jesus appears to Thomas we have this road of unbelief that goes into a road of belief.  And, again, John's whole effort is to show how people come to faith and believe in Christ.  Thomas had heard the report.  In fact, the text, the word “see” is a very important verb all the way through this whole story.  They had seen Him.  They had seen the Lord.  “I'm not going to believe until I can see.”  It's like I'm putting the finger in the nail print.  Until I can see, I won't believe.  That's the whole context that John's setting up for us.  Thomas is a thoroughly a skeptic. Now, we often call him “Doubting Thomas” and we want to be careful with that.  We want to be careful of overstating the case of any of the disciples.  I've encouraged all of us not to sort of wail on Peter and we'll see Peter one day.  And I don't want to wail on Thomas because we're going to see Thomas one day; and I think Thomas is given to us for all of us who have that little skeptic, unconvinced - Thomas is the spiritual Missouri.  “Unless you show me, I'm not going to believe you.  I've got to see it with my own eyes before I believe it.  I don't believe this thing.”  And the Sunday after resurrection Sunday, the disciples are together, Thomas is now with them, they've tried to convince him, “He still won't believe.”  I think the more profound part of this is not when Jesus says, “Reach here.”  Not that He shows Himself to Thomas.  I think the profound part is He knew what Thomas had said.  In one sense, that's more profound than the miracle, if you will.  Now, play this one out if you want to get a little nervous.  If Jesus Christ knew Thomas' doubt, does He know yours?  Does He know the sin that you and I toy with?  Does He know the fears and the skepticism and the lust of our heart and the lust of our eyes and the pride of our life?  Seems to me it's a pretty good case for omniscience.  I don't necessarily like it, but I believe it and I believe that's one of the main lessons He wants us to see.  Well, Thomas' confession is really unrestrained.  He just sort of blurts out, “My Lord and My God!”  And there's nothing in the text that tells us what he did.  In other words, we don't know if Jesus took his hand and poked his finger in His own hand.  Or if Thomas said, “Okay, let me check this out.” In fact, I think the text is intentionally blank with Thomas' physical process because whatever you'd have done, that's what he did.  In other words, Christ is sort of meeting and condescending to Thomas and I think He does to you and me, too, in our doubts.  So, we don't know precisely what he does, but his response is powerful. Immediately, Jesus turns His attention to Thomas. He summons Thomas to come and to put his finger where the nails had pierced His hands, and to feel His side where the spear had pierced it. He challenged Thomas to forsake his unbelief and to believe. Since John does not tell us that Thomas actually felt the wounds of our Lord, it may well be that after seeing Jesus alive he no longer required this proof. It may have taken this sight to convince Thomas, but once convinced, Thomas got it right. He does not merely profess a belief that Jesus has risen from the dead. Thomas professes to believe in what the resurrection proved—that Jesus was God, and that He was Lord (verse 28). Thomas now has it right.  28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!" For a Jew to call another human being "my Lord and my God" was blasphemy under normal circumstances (cf. 10:33). Yet that is precisely who Thomas believed Jesus was. It is also who John presented Jesus as being throughout this Gospel. Both titles were titles of deity in the Old Testament. Thomas had come to believe that Jesus was his lord in a fuller sense than before, and he now believed that Jesus was fully God. In fact, it is perhaps the climax of the entire Gospel of John, that one sentence.  “My Lord and my God!”  The first person pronoun is unusual when you talk about my Lord and my God.  In fact, you won't find it in the Bible, except under Thomas' declaration.  It's one of the greatest “Aha's” in all the Scripture.  And it serves a wonderful purpose the way John orchestrates His Gospel and puts it all together. The  repeated  pronoun  my  does  not  diminish  the universality of Jesus' lordship and deity, but it ensures that Thomas' words are a personal confession of faith. Thomas thereby not only displays his faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but points to its deepest meaning; it is nothing less than the revelation of who Jesus Christ is. The most unyielding sceptic has given to us the most profound confession." Now Thomas believed as his fellow disciples had come to believe (cf. v.25). His confession is a model that John presented for all future disciples. It is the high point of this Gospel (cf. 1:1, 14, 18). John's witnesses to Jesus' deity John the Baptist “This is the Chosen One [literally, “Son”] of God” (1:34) Nathaniel              “You are the Son of God” (1:49) Peter                             “You are the Holy One of God!” (6:69) Martha “You are the Christ, the Son of God” (11:27) Thomas                             “My Lord and my God!” (20:28) John the Apostle    “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God” (20:31) Jesus                            “I am the Son of God” (10:36; see also 4:26; 8:58) Nobody has previously addressed Jesus like this. It marks a leap of faith. In the moment that he came to see that Jesus was  indeed  risen  from  the  dead  Thomas  came  to  see something of what that implied. Mere men do not rise from the dead in this fashion.  The One who was now so obviously alive, although he had died, could be addressed in the language of adoring worship." I want you to notice Jesus' response to Him.  29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." 2Co 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.; It confirmed the reality of Thomas' belief, and it prepared for the beatitude that followed (cf. 13:17). "Blessed" (Gr. makarios) does more than just describe the person in view as happy. It also declares him or her acceptable to God (cf. Matt. 5:3-12). Jesus pronounces a blessing upon those who don't get to see and yet have faith in Him.  Jesus is saying, “It's a good thing that you believe, Thomas, as a result of the sign.  But it's a blessed thing if you believe and you don't get to see the proof of the thing that you want proven.” And so we see God in His grace condescending to Thomas but also God in His grace telling us that not all of us are going to get to see the things that would cast our doubts aside. Most believers have believed on Jesus because of sufficient evidence without the physical confirmation that Thomas required (cf. v. 8; 1 Pet.1:8-9). Those were the people whom Jesus had in view when He made this statement. This beatitude does not make believers who live after Jesus' ascension superior to those who saw Him in the flesh. Rather it guarantees their blessing by God. When Jesus makes that blessing statement, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe,” He Absolutely had us in mind. He's thinking of those who throughout the centuries would believe without seeing the resurrection. "Thomas's declaration is the last assertion of personal faith recorded in this Gospel. It marks the climax of the book because it presents Christ as the risen Lord, victorious over sin, sorrow, doubt, and death. It also presents the faith that accepts not only the truth of what Jesus said but also the actuality of what he was—the Son of God. In the experience of Thomas, the writer has shown how belief comes to maturity and how it changes the entire direction of an individual life." "The growth of belief depicted in the Gospel of John thus moves from an initial acceptance on the testimony of another to a personal knowledge marked by loyalty, service, and worship; from assumption of the historicity and integrity of Jesus to a personal trust in Him; from an outward profession to an inward reality; from practicing His teachings to acknowledging His lordship over life. Full belief may not be attained instantly; yet the initial and tentative belief is not to be despised." Based on a story of faith.  Based again on the intrinsic power of the Gospel story.  That He lived, He died, He was buried and He came back from the grave.  And those who trust in that are extraordinarily blessed. There is compelling evidence for the death, burial and resurrection of Christ; but ultimately, even with all of that evidence - It comes down to faith. Reviewing what it would take to cover something like this up.  It's impossible, to cover something like that up.  And to think about these eleven inept men who've run away at the fear of being somehow associated with Jesus a couple of days before are now so emboldened to steal the body and cover it up.  Talk about the extraordinary leap of faith.  It takes more imagination and fiction to think they could pull that off than that Christ really came back from the dead. And the Gospel writers don‘t say it, but we have to be sure that there were many who had a compelling desire to produce the body and demonstrate that this rumor going around that Jesus had been resurrected was just that, a rumor.  But no one was able to demonstrate.  Well, from Caiaphas on down, the most powerful, political religious group of men could not produce a body.  And you know what?  No one ever will. Think about Lee Strobel, the Chicago journalist who has written a number of books to provide evidence for the reality of Christ, the truth of the Scriptures.  And he wrote a book on the case for the cross where he examines the evidence.  And as wild as it may be to consider it, there's no conclusion you can come to that makes any more sense than that Jesus is who He says He was and He was raised from the dead.  It's just one piece of evidence after another. 1Pe 1:8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls. Although you've not seen Him, you love Him.  You don't see Him now, but you believe in Him.  And this is Peter.  This is the Peter who ran away and three times denied His Lord.  And I've got to believe Peter is in the room when He appears again with Thomas.  And I wonder if in the inspired movement of the Spirit of God when these words are penned, if all is not meant for us to piece together. “You've not seen Him, but you love Him.  You've not seen Him but you believe in Him.”  And you're blessed in that process.  If you add up the Synoptics you have thirty-five miracles, little debate on the exact number, but thirty-five miracles, signs, that Jesus performed, John records only seven key ones. Now get the flow of the book.  It's very important.  They've not seen the risen Christ.  They're looking for the body.  The Christ appears resurrected.  The fear is turned to joy.  Doubting individuals are convinced.  Their doubt is now taken away.  He really believes and Jesus says, “When you go out, you proclaim forgiveness as part of this gospel message.  You teach the people that the covenant, the new covenant, provides for forgiveness.  That's what this is all about.”  30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;  Joh 21:25  31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. Lu 1:4; Joh 3:15-16; 5:24; 1Pe 1:8-9(NKJV) It's okay if you saw and believed, but you're blessed if you believe and you didn't get to see.  And then John says, “These signs that Jesus has done, a lot more of them happened, but these were written so you'll believe.” What does he want for us to believe?  The signs.  John the Gospel writer has said now for twenty chapters, he said, “I wrote all this so that you'll believe.  And I punctuated it with these miracles so that you'll believe.” Jesus even said, “If someone comes back from the dead they won't believe.” But John says, “I want to record these signs so that you'll believe.” When Jesus Christ performs a miracle it's always for a purpose.  The word sign is a stem of signifying.  The sign signifies something.  Take for example the blind man, John nine.  He's blind from birth.  What's the point?  Jesus has power over creation.  Sure.  That's not the real point.  The real point is all of us are blind and we need new sight and Jesus says, “I am the light of the world.  I am the one who gives you new sight.  I create new hearts.  I create new eyes.  I create new people.”  That's what Jesus' message is.  So the sign of the blind man being cured, being given new eyes, is not just a, “Wow!  He cured somebody.”  It's, we're all spiritually blind and we need curing.  Are you with me?  So John says, “All these signs signify something about Christ and our condition and they're written so you and I will believe.” A SUMMARY OF THE SEVEN SIGNS IN JOHN Sign Significance Belief Unbelief Reference Changing water to wine Jesus' power over life,(source) The disciples   2:1-11 Healing the official's son Jesus' power over distance The official and his household   4:46-54 Healing the paralytic Jesus' power over time The paralytic? "There cannot be any doubt but that John conceived of Jesus as the very incarnation of God." John's purpose was not academic. It was not simply that people might believe intellectually that Jesus is the divine Messiah. It was rather that they might believe those foundational truths so they could possess and experience the life of God fully (cf. 10:10). This divine life affects the whole person, not just the intellect. Moreover it affects him or her forever, not just during that person's present lifetime. Let's look at a couple of lessons John's clear purpose statement concludes the body of this Gospel. The graveside can bring incredible grief in life, but the faith of the believer moves on beyond the grave. We're separated and we miss people bitterly because we love them.” That's what death is, a separation, right?  And we long to see them.  And it's very common for people to dream about a reunion and I think Mary is sort of that person.  She's hanging on and she's hurt and Jesus says, “Mary.” And she turns.  The point of that:  turn away from the graveside and see the resurrection.  Turn away from your grief and see life is beyond the grave, right?  And we must do the same as we process through our grief.  Grief is tough, it's not meant to be simple.  It's tough.  But the believer in Christ has hope that the world doesn't have. Suffering is universal, misery is optional.” Some of you know the name Charles Wedemeyer.  He was a very successful coach who is now a quadriplegic and can't even speak.  One hundred percent dependent upon other people.  And he says, through her interpretation, “Suffering is universal, misery is optional.” And, you know, all of us are going to suffer and hurt and grieve in life, but to remain miserable is an option and the believer in Christ must look beyond the circumstances and say, “You know, this earth is a rotten place sometimes.  My faith is in the next life.”   God's peace only comes through Christ.  John fourteen to John sixteen Christ had gone at length to say, “My peace I leave with you.  Not as the world do I give, but my peace I give to you.  Peace be with you.” Earlier it said his spirit was troubled and He says, “I'm going to give you peace.”  Three times in this text, “Peace be with you.  Peace be with you.  Peace.” They're afraid of the Jews, they are fearfully grieving their loss.  “Peace be with you.  Peace.”  He's dispelling their anxiety.  Isa 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Ps 4:8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Phil 4:6-9 Paul says a peace that surpasses all comprehension that will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.  How many of us have never even come close to understanding that?  And that's the resurrection peace that Christ gives.  Jesus Knows Everything - If Jesus Christ knew Thomas' doubt, does He know yours? Does He know the sin that you and I toy with? He knows the fears and the skepticism and the lust of our heart and the lust of our eyes and the pride of our life? "Thomas's declaration of personal faith marks the climax of the book because it presents Christ as the risen Lord, victorious over sin, sorrow, doubt, and death. It is our example. Romans 10.9-11 What proof do you seek?  See, the reasons we don't believe, the reasons we doubt are not because we're so smart or clever.  The reason we doubt is because if we believe, we therefore must submit and obey.  And that's not fun.  It's not fun to do the right thing when sin wants to do the wrong thing.  But the believer in Jesus Christ submits and he says, “You know, God, I don't understand it all, but by Your grace and kindness I'm going to follow You even when I can't see to believe, I believe You.” Mark chapter nine.  The man who has brought his seizure ridden epileptic demonized son to the disciples who can't do anything for him.  Jesus comes back with Peter, James and John from the mount of transfiguration.  An extraordinary passage, where the man wants to believe but what great honesty.  “Help me in my unbelief.  I want to believe you.” And Jesus doesn't condemn him Or shame him or anything, Or say, “What kind of faith is this?”  In fact, the message is really a double-edged message because He says, “Oh unbelieving generation, how long will I be with you?”  That precedes His comment to the father.  I think His primary target is the disciples. It's like when you discipline one child in front of your whole family.  You're telling them all the same issue, but the one's on the hot seat.  And Christ is saying to you, “Don't you get it?  This is not your power.  This is not you.  You have to move beyond that.” And with a few words the Lord does a miracle of healing. Would we say to Jesus, “Lord, I believe.  Help my unbelief.” I hope so.  I often do.  I want to believe Him, I hope to believe. And belief and faith are not the little engine that could.  It's not, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can,” and if I exercise enough of that faith, then God will come through.  Faith is confident assurance of things hoped for.  Meaning, I want this outcome.  With a conviction of things not yet seen.  I don't know the outcome, I don't know the verdict.  So I'm trusting Christ, I'm believing in Him, I'm hoping for this outcome.  I'm convicted in the sense I'm planted, but I don't know what's going to happen. And ultimately your faith is not in the outcome, it is in the one who controls the outcome

Complete Victory: The Triumph of Easter Sunday • Sunday Service Website: www.PastorTodd.org To give: www.ToddCoconato.come/give Welcome to Resurrection Day 2024 Sunday service—a day marked by joy, reflection, and the profound truth of our faith. Today, we gather to commemorate the story of the cross, the pivotal moment in history where complete victory was achieved, not by swords and might, but through sacrifice and love. "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing" Luke 23:34 (NKJV) "As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus. A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!' Then “‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” LUKE 23:26-30 (NKJV) "...and to the hills, “Cover us!”' For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?” Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots." LUKE 23:31-34 (NKJV) The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God's Messiah, the Chosen One.” The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.” There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren't you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” LUKE 23:35-39 (NKJV) But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don't you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[d]” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” LUKE 23:40-43 (NKJV) It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things." LUKE 23:44-49 (NKJV) "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits." 1 Peter 3:18-19 (NKJV) "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said" Matthew 28:6 (NKJV) "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39 (NKJV) "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NKJV) "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 (NKJV) "But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere." 2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:7-8 NKJV “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” John 6:63 ESV “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:16-18 NKJV “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26 NKJV “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-14 NKJV “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. This week Ps Steu speaks on Part 2 of the 4 week series ‘Matters of the Heart'. The title this week is ‘A Heart That's Guarded'. Ps Steu is not talking about the physical heart that pumps blood around our bodies; but essentially speaking of our souls, at the very core of our being, where our emotions flow from. Ps Paula's subject last week was ‘A Heart of Love' and she spoke about how we, as God's people, are called to unity and this can only be achieved when we truly love one another with hearts softened to God's love. Loving one another in a way that brings unity to the body of Christ can only come from a true, experiential knowledge of God's love. We must understand that a guarded heart is not a hard or a closed heart. We must be careful what we let into our hearts. In fact, it's when we allow the ‘wrong stuff' into our hearts that we start to close them up even to the ‘right stuff' and we become hard-hearted. Crucially, we must operate the gate to our hearts correctly, letting the correct things in and keeping other things out. The Bible talks about this in Proverbs 4:23…(NLT) “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life”, or (NIV) “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it”. The condition of our hearts determines the course of our lives. If we want our lives to go in a healthy direction we have to keep our hearts healthy. 3 John 1:2 (NKJV) states “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul (heart) prospers”. The key to a prosperous or healthy heart is guarding it well. Operate the gate! In order to have a healthy physical heart, we have to guard it well. It can be severely damaged by continually eating the wrong foods, not doing enough exercise, and by challenging circumstances that can lead to worry, anxiety, fear, shock, grief, loneliness, stress, disappointment and unforgiveness. However, by eating the right foods, doing exercise, and dealing with challenging circumstances our hearts will be kept healthy. In the midst of challenging circumstances, being deliberate about trusting God, walking by faith, speaking positively, spending time with good people, taking time to rest and relax, and being quick to forgive… all these things can be hugely beneficial to the health of your physical heart. In the same way, when it comes to guarding our hearts (speaking of our souls), there are three main areas that we need to consider: How we eat. Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” When we let God's Word in we are eating the bread of life. This is really good for the heart. However, we are often so unguarded about what we feed on. We fill our minds with the voices of this world that contradict what God says - through friendships, social media, music, what we listen to, what we watch, what we read! We forget to operate the gate of our heart and end up letting in so much junk that our hearts get clogged up! How we exercise. 1 Timothy 4:8 (NKJV) “For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.” When we live God's way (godliness, holiness) it's like physical exercise, in that our hearts become stronger. Living a godly life effectively positions the gate of our hearts ready to close when the wrong stuff tries to come in. However, when we continually live like the world the gate of our heart is left wide open and anything can come in! How we respond to challenging circumstances. Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” In Psalm 27, David lists a whole load of challenges that he is facing in that moment - opportunities for fear, people against him, lies said about him, violent threats, relationship breakdown. Yet David was positioned at the gate of his heart...

It is a special blessing from the Lord that we can publicly meet without fear of imprisonment or financial ruin if caught. - Example: China missionary, persecution through technology and govt tracking, church having multiple meeting places/service times to avoid this. MUST be there to know when the next will be. - What happens in these church walls does not need to stay in the church wall. The world needs this! - While many in the world are dying for this, you get to live in it. Don't waste this opportunity! - If I asked you how to swim, what would you say? What if I asked you how to NOT drown? - I could describe to you what to do, but something would be missing that you will only truly understand by being in the water. Knowing WHAT to do and knowing HOW to do it aren't the same. Example: USMC boot camp swim qual. Your choices are sink or swim, because staying out of the pool is not an option. They had instruction, and motivation, and desire, but some of them didn't know how to turn that stuff into NOT drowning. - Honestly, they should have taken time to learned how to swim before they got in that position. - In the storms of life, you'll need to learn how to spiritually swim BEFORE you get in the water. In our scriptures, David was drowning under the pressure of losing everything. His home, his family, his friends, his victories. All the things he had been relying on to bring him comfort or safety. - 1 Samuel 30:6 (NKJV), Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was [a]grieved (literally “bitter” over the loss), every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. 1. You will default to your foundation. - This is David. As a child he killed lions and bears, and the giant Goliath. The mighty warrior and leader, praised for his many victories in battle. The anointed, chosen, future king! - David was described by God as a man after God's own heart. He was a strong man of God! - He is now in a long season of trials and relentless persecution, and his strength is running out. - King Saul is on a mission to kill him. David won't kill Saul, he is running out of places to run, and now he feels like he is out of options. - 1 Samuel 27:1, And David said in his heart, “Now I shall perish someday by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape to the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me anymore in any part of Israel. So I shall escape out of his hand.” - Wouldn't this have been a great time to “strengthen himself in the Lord”, rather than run to seek comfort in the hands of the enemy? Did he forget that God is the deliverer? - Example: My PTSD. - My default strategy for going through hard times was to “grind”. I didn't see it at the time. I would tell you to pray, seek God, lean on His strength… I knew what to do, but when the seas raged, I defaulted back to what I've always done. - I had always been able to “swim” through it, but you can only hold your breath for so long. - The biggest convicting moment was when my psychologist who is not a Christian, knowing I'm a pastor, asked if I'd prayed and if it had helped. - I realized that I had not be seeking strength in the Lord, I had defaulted to my own. - Whatever you build your foundation on, you will default to in times of trial. - Matthew 7:24-25, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. - The famous quote says, “We don't rise to the level of our expectations,

Let me tell you a true story…. I went down, down, down, into what felt like falling into a dark and narrow well. I couldn't stop myself and the walls were beyond my reach. It was like plunging into a void with no bottom. The longer I fell, the hotter it got. Suddenly, the fall into the well turned into a cavern that spread into an unending distance in every direction. I descended even further into the deep darkness and suffocating heat. I saw the gates of hell. It was an entranceway, but it was more sinister than anything I ever imagined. The gates looked so hideous that no one would ever dare to touch it. The creatures portrayed on the gates seemed to move with my approach. Guarding the gate were dreadful demon creatures with many heads and tails. They were there to forbid anyone from getting too close to the gates or from leaving them once someone entered them. As I approached the gateway, I could see on the other side the masses of human beings in a place of fire like a volcano of molten rock. The wails and screams coming from the people were overpowering. I felt all strength leave my limbs as I approached the excruciating heat. The people kept screaming out my name and telling me not to enter the gates, but I couldn't stop myself. An unseen evil power forced me forward through the barrier. People were burning up without dying. Fiery worms were crawling in and out of their never-dying bodies, and the stench of rotten burning flesh was nauseating! I kept vomiting, I didn't know what the ghoulish goo coming out of me was, but each time I threw up I writhed in excruciating pain, and then I hurled again. It never stopped. Ominous words above the gate were etched in hideous stones that glowed darkly with the reflection of hellish fire. The words leaped in giant relief, and a strange and utterly offensive substance oozed from each letter to the ground. I just glanced without reading, but the words read themselves to me and seared my mind like a branding iron. ALL WHO ENTER HERE WILL SUFFER THE FIRES OF HADES AND A FURTHER SECOND DEATH IN THE LAKE OF FIRE FOREVER AND EVER. YOU ARE ENTERING THE GARBAGE HEAP OF ALL REALMS, THE PLACE OF THE DEAD, THOSE DEAD TO GOD AND TO HIS SON. YOU ARE ABANDONED. NO PRAYERS ARE HEARD, AND THERE IS NO ESCAPE. I looked closer at the people as I passed through the pernicious gates. My eyesight was failing, and it got so black before me that I could no longer see my extremities. The only light I could see was a momentary glance as the fire burned me and the ghoulish worms ate me up. I could see people in the distance in suffering and torment that was unfathomable. I could hear their blood curdling screams of pain. Oh, the horrors! I could not communicate with them even as I screamed in pain. I felt the horrendous pain shoot through me over and over in never ending crescendos of hate, loneliness, and hopelessness. In all my life upon the earth, I never felt a chill darken my soul like this place of torment. I never felt the utter despair of eternal torment like I felt at that moment. All hope was gone. I would never see my family or friends, and I was hopelessly lost forever with no way out! Oh God, if only I could warn my family. If only I could tell my friends that there is heaven to gain and a very real hell to shun! Momentarily, I glanced up and saw the wretched beggar Lazarus that used to sit by my gate and beg for my help. I had so much in life, but I squandered my chance for deliverance by denying God and His commandments. Yet, what is this I see? Lazarus is seated next to somebody up there. Who is that? Suddenly, I knew! It is father Abraham! Maybe he will have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and cool my tongue! I am tormented in these flames! I called desperately with all the strength I had, but no one answered. I could see them, and they looked happy. They were not in torment! Lazarus had on the most beautiful clothes I ever saw. “Father Abraham, please send Lazarus to me! Please send Lazarus to me!” I cried and screamed. No help came…. But then, there was a small window opened to me to where Abraham and Lazarus were… 19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' 27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.” (Luke 16:19-31 NKJV) That was not a parable. Parables were always stated in generalities and personal names were not used when telling them. Lazarus and that rich man were real people. The story was about two men in the area where Jesus was preaching. Jesus saw what happened to them after death in the unseen realm. Yes, I took creative license with the story and retold it with my own descriptions. Notice that it is still based on the Scriptural teaching about Hades, and then the final resting place of hell and death, the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, the place of eternal punishment. (See Revelation 20:10-15, 21:8.) Hades is a temporary holding cell until the final judgment, and the lake of fire is the eternal abode of the damned. Make no mistake about it, those in Hades will receive their final judgment and be thrown into the lake of fire. Once in Hades, it's bye-bye for eternity. Eternity has no end, just like it has no beginning. It is a horror beyond all horrors. Nothing can be compared on earth, regardless of the tragedy, to eternity in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. I hear people all the time talk about the hell they went through. Others say they are going through hell. It's NOTHING compared to eternal separation in the place of eternal torment. Waiting until you die and are in hell's flames and torment for eternity are not the place to try to get out of hell! It would be too late to get out! There is no redo! Once a person dies it is judgement time! (Hebrews 9:27) Let me say it again in a slightly different way. There is an immediate judgment for each person that dies, and they are ushered into heaven in God's presence, or they are incarcerated in Hades. Hades is not the end for them. Something worse is coming that is called the Second Death or the eternal lake of fire and brimstone. People will be finally judged for their lives upon the earth and the records will reveal what they did against God and show that they rejected God's gift in Jesus. The way to get out of going to a devil's hell is by repentance if you are backslid or if you have never received Jesus as Lord and Savior. It all begins with repentance. Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38 NKJV) Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. (Acts 3:19 NKJV) The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:30, 31 NKJV) Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. (Acts 8:22 NKJV) As a side note, this was addressed to Simon (Bar Jesus) who had already converted to the Lord. Acts 8:22 was addressed to a “born-again” and water-baptized Christian believer. Simon had allowed wickedness back into his heart and he needed to repent. Let's get it correctly in our thinking. Initial repentance of sin is a part of believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing Him as Lord (Romans 10:9). After that, if a Christian sins, we still have access to the eternal blood of Jesus to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (See 1 John 1:7-10, 2:1, 2.) Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30 NKJV) …But declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance. Acts 26:20 Yes, there is a heaven to gain by receiving what Jesus did for us through His sacrifice and by living for Him according to His Word and His moral guidelines. There is also a hell to shun. You do not want to perish and go there! God wants all people to repent so they don't perish! (2nd Peter 3:9, Luke 13:3, 5) Choose life (Jesus) so that you and your seed may live! Don't choose the curse, darkness, and eternal death brought on by rebellion to the Lord and His Word! (Deuteronomy 30:19,20; John 3:16) That is the ONLY way you get out of going to a devil's hell! Some may be thinking, “Oh but that is narrow thinking and way too exclusive. Don't you think that in God's mercy He provided many ways to get to Him?” Absolutely not! Jesus stated about Himself that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one can come to God except through Him! (John 14:6) Read it and adjust your thinking to the truth. There are not hundreds of ways but ONLY one way to the Father, and His name is Jesus. Yes, it's a very narrow way. Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matthew 7:13, 14 NKJV) It is so narrow that few there are that find it when you compare the broad way of the world of sin and darkness. Sadly, most human beings on the planet will go to hell, but you can be very happy and full of joy with the good news I am sharing with you today. You can avoid hell and gain God and all He provided through Jesus. Then, you can tell others about it if you are still alive on this earth. That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9, 10 NKJV) After you do that, then there are everyday matters to live the Christian life. You must become obedient to God's Word and His MORAL commandments in Scripture. Making Jesus your Lord means that you submit to His Word and obey His moral commandments. Too many miss that part about living in obedience to the Word. 7 Those who keep on doing good and are looking for His greatness and honor will receive life that lasts forever. 8 Those who love only themselves and do not obey the truth, but do what is wrong, will be punished by God. His anger will be on them. (Romans 2:7, 8 NLV) The same verses in another translation: He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness... NLT And one more for the road: …praise, honor, and immortality to those who continue in doing good and seek eternal life; but to those who are rebellious, and reject the truth, and follow iniquity, will come indignation and wrath… NMB That is not Paul's teaching on salvation by works, but it is teaching about good works (obedience to God's commandments) and doing what is right according to God's truth- His Word (not YOUR truth) AFTER you receive Jesus as your Lord. That is probably one of the most misunderstood New Testament teachings. No, you didn't receive Jesus via good works. We received God's gift in Christ as the sacrifice for our sins, but there is more to it than that concerning eternal life. We must lay hold of eternal life so that it doesn't get away from us. (1st Timothy 6:12) Here's the issue. You stay saved by doing what is right according to the covenant AFTER your first encounter with Jesus as Lord and Savior. You don't receive Jesus and then live like a sinner every day. That would nullify in your life your initial reception of His salvation. It is a devilish idea that if you practice sin as a Christian that grace will cover your sin and you will still go to heaven WITHOUT repentance. Practicing sin without repentance and cleansing from that sin by the blood of Jesus will keep a person from inheriting the kingdom of God. Now the deeds of the flesh are clear: sexual immorality, impurity, indecency, idolatry, witchcraft, hostility, strife, jealousy, rage, selfish ambition, dissension, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I am warning you, just as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit God's kingdom. (Galatians 5:19-21 TLV) The New English Translation (NET) states the last sentence like this: “Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God!” I found at least 12 other translations that use the word practice besides the NET, and some use the words indulge, continue, and live that way. That is the correct way that last sentence should be translated. If you have fallen for any of these things as a Christian, IF you repent, then you can still go to heaven or inherit the kingdom of God. These verses warn Christians that practicing or making a lifestyle out of any of these sins will cause a person to be left out of the kingdom of God. There will be no welcoming committee in heaven for the Christian that practices sin without repentance. Paul taught that, but it is not the only place he mentions that truth. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. (1st Corinthians 6:9-10 NET) I've heard the Biblically ignorant state, “That was speaking to the unrighteous, and in Christ Jesus I am righteous. So, that refers to the world and not to me.” Wrong! The context of these verses is Paul correcting Christians for defrauding fellow believers, and then it is followed by an exhortation commanding believers to flee from sexual immorality. The unrighteous in 1st Corinthians 6:9-10 is referring to the unrepentant Christian that has yielded to sin and continues to practice it. But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness. (1st John 1:9 NET) John is speaking to fellow believers and what to do if we sin. After we confess our sins to the Lord, He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all UNRIGHTOEUSNESS. Wait, but I thought that we were the righteousness of God in Christ! Why be cleansed from all UN-righteousness? It's really simple. The righteousness that a Christian has in Christ, that righteousness they received upon their salvation, is conditional and not automatic. Our right standing with God is always conditional. The Christian's position in that righteousness will be negatively impacted by unrighteous behavior, lawlessness, or sin. The person that sins must receive forgiveness and cleansing from that which is against righteousness. It is a dangerous place to remain in sin because it connects a person with the unrighteous. Paul warns that if a person stays there and continues to practice that sin, whatever it may be, they are going to be rejected from the kingdom (rule and reign) of God. That means that the practitioner of lawlessness (not subject and obedient to God's law or commandments of a moral nature) will hear the terrible words of rejection from the lips of the Lord in Matthew 7:23, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” In case you have any question about what practicing lawlessness means: Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; indeed, sin is lawlessness. (1st John 3:4) Get straightened out with the following verses from any heretical mindset. It will work IF you will receive the Word of God on the subject. And because lawlessness (sin is lawlessness – 1st John 3:4) will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 24:12, 13 NKJV) Only those that serve the Lord and obey His Word to the end will be saved. Note the condition. He who endures to the end shall be saved. Salvation is conditional. Enduring to the end means that when the end comes, you will not be practicing sin or lawlessness. That should be clear enough, but there are many more verses, so I will give you a few more. But Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are IF we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end… For we have become partakers of Christ IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end… (Hebrews 3:6, 14 NKJV) We are His house IF (it's conditional) we hold fast to the end! Wishy-washy Christians that die in their sins are left out of this equation. The unrepentant Christian is left out. The other conditional statement in verse 14 about salvation is as clear as the first one in verse 6. We are partakers of Christ IF we hold fast the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end. In other words, and so that there are no mistakes in interpretation, it is not only how we began our life in Christ when we first believed, but it is how we wind up at the end of our lives (“to the end”). That is the moment of judgment, either to an eternal separation from God, or to an eternal bliss in the presence of the Lord. Again, note the conditional statements concerning our salvation.  Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, IF you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. (1st Corinthians 15:1, 2 NIV) You are saved by the gospel only IF you hold firmly to that Word. If you don't, then your believing is in vain! I feel sorry for those that continue to espouse a damnable once-saved-always-saved heretical theology! Salvation in Christ is conditional! It always has been conditional and always will be. The next few verses will overturn the devilish thinking that that one can practice sin without responsibility or consequences. Let me set up the next verse by asking the question, “Is Jesus the author of eternal salvation for everybody?” …He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. (Hebrews 5:9 NKJV) Nobody gets eternal salvation except those that obey Jesus! Here is another statement on the subject from the lips of Jesus: Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' (Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV) You can't practice lawlessness and expect to hear, “Welcome to heaven and have a glorious eternity!” Be very cautious with these verses. They are no-nonsense. Even if you confessed His Lordship, and even had a part in supernatural ministry, but then reneged on your faith and practiced wickedness without repentance, you will hear the terrible words from the Master, “I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!” Do we see an immediate example of that in the Gospels? Yes, we see that happening to Judas Iscariot. He was sent and anointed by Jesus as an apostle, ministered supernaturally (Matthew 10:1-8), but he betrayed Jesus and was lost for eternity because he never repented and turned from his wickedness and committed suicide. (See Matthew 26:14-16; 27:3-5) Matthew 27:3 says that when Judas saw what he had done and realized he was condemned that he was remorseful for his sin. Being remorseful or feeling bad over your sin may be a part of repentance, but real repentance turns away from wickedness, turns back to God, and seeks His forgiveness and cleansing from it. I wrote that last part of the sentence in bold and italics to emphasize what real repentance does.  Look at the awful things king David did in the Bathsheba incident (Second Samuel chapters 11 and 12). He committed premeditated murder, theft, adultery, treachery, covetousness, lying, and probably a host of other sins. Talk about being guilty, David messed up in ways that many have never done, and yet he was forgiven and restored. See Psalms 51 for David's prayer of repentance and petitioning God for forgiveness and cleansing. It reminds us of 1 John 1:8-10! Most likely John had Psalms 51 in mind when writing 1 John 1:9. David's restoration and forgiveness were so complete that he married Bathsheba. God blessed the union because Bathsheba was the mother of king Solomon, the very blood line from where Messiah came! Wow! No matter what sins you committed, there can be complete and total forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration. David and Bathsheba are great examples of that truth. They are a demonstration of the great love, compassion, and grace of God! Now, compare that to king Saul and how he was confronted on a few occasions for his sins (ex. 1st Samuel 26). There was no real repentance. He only had remorse and the sorrow as the world feels when they do something wrong. He wound up visiting a medium (1st Samuel 28), never repenting of sins, and he died by falling on his own sword (1st Samuel 31).  Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. (2nd Corinthians 7:9-10 NKJV) Feelings of sorrow like the world has only leads to death. That is what happened to Saul and Judas Iscariot. Godly sorrow that leads to a real repentance is what works. That is what David had! Here is an important instruction about those that truly know the Lord. Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. (1st John 2:3-5 NKJV) Keeping or obeying His commandments is at the center of knowing the Lord when you are a Christian. A Christian that lives in a consistent breaking or violation of God's commandments does not know the Lord. I am speaking about those commandments in Scripture that reveal living moral or righteous life before God. I am not referring to any commandment in Scripture exclusively given to Israel or commanded concerning the Levitical priesthood, Temple worship, animal sacrifice, feasts and festivals, and other ceremonial type commandments. Do you know what I am referring to? If you have not been taught about the clear distinction in the Bible between moral and ceremonial commandments, you must be taught it correctly. Here is my Scriptural contribution on this important subject. It's a free 62-page PDF document. Get it here: Did the Grace of God Cancel Biblical Commandments? Paul, when writing to the Corinthian church, stated it like this: Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but obeying God's commandments is everything. (1st Corinthians 7:19 ISV) The true follower of Jesus is described in Revelation 14:12 (NET) in this way: This requires the steadfast endurance of the saints—those who obey God's commandments and hold to their faith in Jesus. There you also have the true definition of a “saint”. It's not one canonized by the Catholic church. A saint is the one that is steadfast and enduring in their obedience to God's commandments and holds to their faith in Jesus. No canonization is needed! Once you make up your mind to be a follower of Jesus for the rest of your life, the next thing is to be baptized in water as evidence of your glorious decision for the Lord. (Acts 2:38; 1st Peter 3:21 NET) Then, you MUST find a church that never closed their doors for the Covid tyrannical nonsense and refused to open the door to the spirit of antichrist. If possible, you should be a part of a church that NEVER caved to the Covid mess. (Hebrews 10:26) The only way I would ever go to a church that bowed their knee to the Covid mess would be IF the pastor publicly repents for yielding to the devil!  Here are my non-sanctioned advertisements for two churches in my immediate surroundings that I truly admire and love for their stand on the Word. In about 5 counties in Southwest Florida, only two churches (out of over 400) never closed, masked, gelled, social distanced, and have completely refused the death jabs (so called vaccines). You can watch these powerful ministries every week online. These are hero churches. All the rest that closed their doors are weak, cowardly, capitulating churches that you can learn NOTHING from them except caving to evil government demands. Unless they repent, avoid them like the plague because they will cave again! Don't be fooled because many are online speaking naturally without the power of the Holy Spirit. Many were closed for months and have reopened to find out that their congregations are a fraction of what they were. Get involved with powerful non-caving and non-compromising churches here: The River Church International https://www.revival.com/ https://www.youtube.com/user/rodneyhowardbrowne/videos Note: This church closed for 8 weeks at the very beginning of the Covid lockdowns in 2020, not because of fearing a 99.9% survivable disease, but because the pastor refused to cave to local authorities when ordered to close the church, and he was arrested. The lying news media smeared the pastor and the church mercilessly. The church phone lines, email, Facebook page, etc., received about 100 thousand death threats from crazed idiots. The church opened back up eight weeks later with a solid plan to protect its members from the demon-possessed crazies. The church began to grow exponentially, and it has not stopped! The Foundation Church https://www.foundationchurchfl.com/ The pastor of the foundation church has 2 Sunday services, and three Bible-based/facts-based/political podcasts weekly. We must form our own parallel society, band together, and refuse to comply with the totalitarian and communist government mandates at every level. Christians and true conservatives (no RINO's need apply) that feel led to do so must run for local government offices and get elected. That is one powerful way to remove demon inspired nut jobs in government that believe its OK to murder the unborn in a mother's womb, believe in open borders, a weak military, vaccine mandates and masking, woke-ness, LGBTQ agendas, and have surrendered to totalitarianism and communism! It is time to rise in defense of America and to fight for our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Our constitutional republic has been sidelined under the Biden regime, and we must take it back! When you see all the vaccine mandates and passports around the world, the restriction on travel, buying, selling, working, etc., does it not shake you up that we are seeing the very beginnings of a system of antichrist global control being pushed upon the world's population? 16 And he causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 and he decrees that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. (Revelation 13:16-18 NASB) I am not saying that it is the mark of the beast. I am saying that at least it is a preparation stage for the future mark to be revealed. If we take a stand against this tyranny, Satan will be exposed and have to back off the full global control through his mark preparation strategy. The so-called pandemic is really a planned global false medical emergency to control the masses and bring them under a globalist-elitist control and subservience. The good news is the world is beginning to resist very strongly and boldly, and Satan's plan is being restrained. It is not his time yet for global control. It was a test, and the world (including most Christians and churches) bowed to a lie, proving that the planet is almost ready for the antichrist and his mark. The church, with the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and the rest of the planet's population that refuses the tyranny being unleashed in the name of a false pandemic, are the earth's last line of defense. The Church by the power of God is standing in the way of Satan's antichrist agenda, unless we cave! (See 2nd Thessalonians 2:1-12 New International Version- NIV.) If we yield our ground to the enemy, it is all over for the world. The church can advance and take back territory lost by yielding to the enemy when they closed their doors in 2020 and 2021. If we stand as the Body of Christ, we can turn this globalist mess around and restore freedom around us. That is, UNTIL we are done with our mission on planet earth. Once the Lord says the mission is over, a great resurrection of the godly dead and a physical transformation of those alive will occur, and all the ones separated unto the Lord Jesus (saints) will be caught up to meet Him in the air and be with Him forever! (See 1st Thessalonians 4:16-18 NIV, 1st Corinthians 15:50-53.) By "our mission", I mean that we fulfill the words of Jesus in Mark 16:15-19, Matthew 28:18-20, and also in the following verses of Scripture. 12 And because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will become cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. 14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:12-14 NASB) Listen to the following podcast about the connection between faith and forgiveness taught by Jesus in Mark 11:22-26. Often, people have stuff in the way of receiving from the Lord, and unforgiveness is one BIG hindrance that must be removed for faith to work! Be mightily blessed with the teaching of God's Word!

SCANDALON    (Circumstances do not make you what you are … they reveal what you are!) Two people facing the same situation, but because of their choices the outcome can be so different.   Pastor George Lehman Our response to a scandalon determines our future – You will either live free or you will live in bondage. What is a scandalon: - It's the Greek word for “offend”, (Aanstoot gee) It refers to the part of the trap to which the bait is attached The word offend means: - a trap or a snare – stumbling block (struikelblok) Jesus said in Luke 17:1 (NKJV) – “It is impossible that no offences should come.” Explain a trap with the bait – It's not always visible We are all more than likely to take the bait many times in our lives. Offence is a tool of the devil to bring people into captivity Satan is not sitting in an armchair waiting for hell Paul warned – 2 Timothy 2:24-26 (NLT) – 24A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. 25Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts and they will learn the truth. 26Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.  (Note verse 26) Because of hurts, bitterness, unforgiveness, quarrels, opposition, unresolved differences People fall into the trap/snare and are then held by the devil as a prisoner to do his will The devil wants to destroy relationships If he succeeds, he achieves a great victory – Why? Unity goes (where there is unity God commands a blessing) Joy and Peace goes Vision goes – Purpose goes The very essence of our calling losses impact The worst part is most times people are unaware of their captivity The saddest thing is to see a person so deceived He believes he is right even though he is not. Pride causes you to view yourself as a victim “I was mistreated and misjudged, therefore I am perfectly justified in my Attitude Behaviour Because you believe you are Innocent you hold back forgiveness Matthew 24:10-13 (NLT) – 10And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13But the one who endures to the end will be saved.  (Notice verse 10 says :- Many, not a few – not some – But many) I believe one of the key ingredients that tests relationships; is offence. Can I just say this: - “We set ourselves up for offence” When we expect or require certain behaviours – from those whom we have relationships, those who proclaim to be children of God Listen: - The more we expect, the greater the “potential” offence Proverbs 18:19 (Amp) - “A brother offended is harder to be won over than a strong city and (their) contentions separate them like the bars of a castle!” Don't forget Jesus warned us that offence will come – Luke 17:1 “It is impossible that no offences should come.”   Did you know there are 4 stages of relationships? It's good to remember that:- People judge us by our actions, not our intention, (“Example, Diet” - You can't get thin on your intentions) “You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.”  - Henry Ford Relationships don't just happen; you and I must make them happen. 4 Stages: Courtship / Fellowship Confrontation / Conflict – “Offence Zone” Growth / Maturity Multiplication Courtship/ Fellowship (Everybody is normal till you get to know them) Like the Honeymoon stage Confrontation Psalm 55:12-14 (NLT) – 12It is not an enemy who taunts me- I could bear that. It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me- I could have hidden from them. 13Instead, it is you-my equal, my companion and close friend. 14What good fellowship we once enjoyed as we walked together to the house of God. Confrontation requires boldness not arrogance Matthew 18:15(NLT) – “If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.” Confrontation is an opportunity for forgiveness To Heal and Restore Relationships = our main aim. Think about this: - Any relationship within the family of God is going to be as good as you want it to be Romans 12:14-19 (NLT) – 14Bless those who persecute you. Don't curse them; pray that God will bless them. 15Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. 16Live in harmony with each other. Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all! 17Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honourable. 18Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. 19Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say. “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. Growth / Maturity This is when we do it God's way - not our own way Maturely loving one another in spite of our shortcomings Romans 15:1-2 (NLT) – We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. 2We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.   Multiplication This is when relationships are now mature enough to move on You can now encourage and be an example to others And thereby develop other meaningful relationships Never before in History as in the 21st Century Has knowledge increased in the church at the rate it is. But with all this increased knowledge We seem to experience: - More divisions among believers and leaders More hurts and bitterness and unforgiveness More couldn't care-less attitudes toward relationships 1 Corinthians 8:1 (Amp) - Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up and encourages one to grow (to his full stature) If we keep Jesus as our main focus and the Love of God as our Motivation In all we do or say, we will not fail. Love Never Fails 1 Corinthians 13:5,8a (Amp) - 5Love is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride), it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.  Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way for it is not self-seeking, its not touchy or fretful or resentful, it takes no account of the evil done to it (it pays no attention to a suffered wrong). Verse 8(a): Love Never Fails   1 Peter 4:8 (Amp) - Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins (forgives and disregards the offences of others). Close with: Philippians 1:9-10 (NLT) – 9I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return.

Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:27 - But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 1 Peter 2:11 - Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Galatians 6:8 - For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.  R. C. Sproul explains it like this: “If ever there is a genuine paradox to be found in Holy Writ, it is at the point of freedom and bondage. The paradox is this: When one seeks to rebel from God, he gains only bondage. When he becomes a slave to God, he becomes free. Liberty is found in obedience. The Anglican poet John Donne understood this when he wrote in a sonnet, “Except you enthrall me, never shall I be free.” 1 Corinthians 10:11 – NIV- These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. 2 Samuel 11:1 – NKJV - It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. Casualness leads to casualties..

Love Is...February is now here. Of course, when we think of February we also think of Valentine's day, a day when romantic love walks onto center stage and is given full expression. Cards, love letters, poems, gifts of flowers, candy, intimate wear, will be given over fine meals, soft candlelight and music, passing from heart to hand as we celebrate “love.”But in the midst of this hubbub, we need to know what we are celebrating? What is love? For most people it will be the celebration of a feeling. A good feeling, a warm fuzzy sentimental feeling that is elusive, difficult to find, and impossible to hold. At least that is what we are told, and if that feeling passes, oh well, we again begin the pursuit of love. I'm convinced many people are hurting today because they have given this thing called love a whirl and have been hurt, even devastated by it. Today these people are as jaded or cynical about love as Ebenezer Scrooge was about Christmas. I believe this is due to the poverty of the English language when it comes to “Love.” We use the same word to express our feelings about many things. This leads to confusion and misunderstanding. Eros – sexual love, passionStorge – love of kinPhilio – love of friends, brotherly loveAgapeo – love which seeks the highest good of another regardless of the personal cost. It is the highest expression of love. God's love.I believe when we make the highest expression of love our goal, then we excel in every area of love.Finish this phrase with an adjective, Love is… (You cannot use the obvious answers of 1 Corinthians 13)IntentionalRomans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [NKJV]It is a decision, a choice.SacrificialJohn 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. [NKJV]1 John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [NKJV]Love gives and does not count the cost to be too great. If you are working an “angle” it isn't love.Unconditional1 John 4:9-11 God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into this wicked world to bring to us eternal life through his death. 10In this act we see what real love is: it is not our love for God but his love for us when he sent his Son to satisfy God's anger against our sins.11Dear friends, since God loved us as much as that, we surely ought to love each other too. [Living]Love isn't based on performance, appearance.InseparableRomans 8:35-39Who then can ever keep Christ's love from us? When we have trouble or calamity, when we are hunted down or destroyed, is it because he doesn't love us anymore? And if we are hungry or penniless or in danger or threatened with death, has God deserted us?36No, for the Scriptures tell us that for his sake we must be ready to face death at every moment of the day--we are like sheep awaiting slaughter; 37but despite all this, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us enough to die for us. 38For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels won't, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God's love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, 39or where we are--high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean--nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us. [Living]Looking at this list of life events, what can separate love.

Is this the end of the age--Disciples have asked that question since the church's birth.-And our Lord's answer to His first followers remains His answer to us today.--It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But- you shall be witnesses to Me-- -Acts 1-7-8 NKJV--It is the privilege of the church to continue -all that Jesus began both to do and teach- -Acts 1-1- by deliberately and actively serving as His witnesses to a perishing world.-It is Christ's Kingdom, not man's, that is to be each believer's abiding preoccupation. Like the early disciples, we struggle to keep the kingdom of man and the kingdom of God straight in our minds. Don't you think- Our perspective either helps or hinders the church's witness to our community.-This Sunday, we'll turn to Acts 1 and reconnect with our Lord's enduring commission to His followers. “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ It’s easy to inspire people about God’s purpose for their lives. People truly love and laud God’s promises but not His process.  When God breaks through to our life in power we must follow through in process.  Process is what separates the person who has been touched by God versus changed by Him. The church is full of people who have been touched but not changed. The key component to being changed is the process of having our minds renewed.  God’s process isn’t a quick fix or a hocus pocus your in focus...God’s process will take you through waiting, long suffering and wilderness seasons that will help mold you into a Dread Champion because of the process of changing.  When God breaks through in power...we follow through in process.  Don’t despise the process.   420fire.org You can also follow special guest Chad Burroughs on Instagram @riseinside  @rescue1global

Has your commitment to Jesus ever put your reputation, comfort or Joseph of Arimathea had been a secret believer in Jesus. His faith members of the Sanhedrin convinced Pilate to execute Jesus. Some Christians live like this still today, keeping their belief a private matter in a world that belittles or is hostile toward faith in Christ. -Joseph... taking courage, went into Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.- Mark 15-43 -NKJV- It took the bloody cross of Jesus to bring Joseph out into the open. And when it did, other secret believers followed- Nicodemus, who had once visited Jesus under cover of darkness, helped Joseph place Jesus' body in the tomb. Both men risked their personal safety, and their social standing, and their reputations to step out of the shadows of secret, tentative faith and openly profess Jesus with their lives.

By Pastor Robert Rosales Scriptures - Ephesians. 6:10-18 (NKJV) - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— - Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) - But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” - John 6:63 (NKJV) - It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. - Romans 8:26-28 (NLT) - And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Message Points Q. What is the Sword of the Spirit? 1.THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT IS THE RHEMA WORD OF GOD. Word-(Gk.) (Rhema) “That which is said or spoken clearly, spoken in unmistakable terms, spoken vividly, spoken undeniably, certain, and in definite terms” to you and then through you. Rhema is a specific verse from the Bible that the Spirit gives you, that is applicable for your life and it’s exactly what you need to hear from God for your situation. Q. How do I use the Sword of the Spirit? 2. I HAVE TO DECLARE GOD’S WORD IN FAITH. Q. What is the spear in our spiritual armor? 3. THE SPEAR IS PRAYER. Q. Why is the Spear of Prayer necessary? 4. PRAYER RELEASES GOD’S POWER.

Did it ever dawn on you that life is an inside-out job? This principle is clearly illustrated by; 1 Thess 5.23: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NKJV) It is important to notice the progression of the spirit, soul, and body as a whole. I relate to this verse closely because I am a spirit, I have a soul, and I live in a body. You see life does not happen to you; life happens from you. It is not so much what happens, but it is how you respond to it. In this podcast, we will discuss the ways in which you can win from within.

What direction are you heading? Are you travelling fast or slow? Have you got everything you need? Who is guiding you? Are you listening closely for directions? Here's a little story (actually by the time I finished this post I realised the story wasn't quite so little) about taking one step at a time, following God's leading, surrendering to doing things in His timing, and continually learning that His ways are always higher. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV In January 2013 I started blogging about our journey with a daughter with cancer, almost two years after a nurse in the pediatric oncology ward suggested that blogging can be helpful when communicating with family and friends. It's less time intensive and less emotionally draining. When the nurse said that to me my thoughts were something like, "I won't need to do that, we won't be here for long." Two years later when Victoria was 6 months into chemo treatment I felt God prompting me to start writing a blog. I knew that in the Christmas holidays I would have more time available so I planned to launch the blog in January, close to the anniversary date of Victoria's diagnosis. Those holidays we were blessed with the opportunity to stay at Harry's House in Stockton, a beautiful family retreat for families with children with cancer. Early mornings, learning how to use blogger, setting up pages, writing background information, purple background and http://victoriagraceconqueror.blogspot.com/ was launched. After I had been blogging for a while, a few people started saying to me, "You should write a book," and so the idea was birthed, a book about our story, testifying to what God has done...... My mouth shall tell of Your righteousnessAnd Your salvation all the day, For I do not know their limits.  I will go in the strength of the Lord God; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only. Psalm 71:15-16 NKJV ... but also with the practical things we had learned along the way that would hopefully help other families. So much data to work with; the group emails I started sending when Victoria was first in hospital; notes from every appointment with specialists and therapists; blog posts; images; checklists for hospital and home; notes from talks I'd given at church; and guest blog posts related to our journey. It was a little overwhelming. Me being me, I started a spreadsheet because that's the way my brain works, listing all the items. Then with the help of the Holy Spirit I divided them into chronological chapters. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV It was around mid 2014 when I started writing the book, so quite some time had passed since Victoria's initial diagnosis. I was finding that as I reviewed the content of each chapter, funnily enough, there was a theme coming through each chapter. So I decided to write a 'reflection' section at the end of each chapter relating to that theme. The reflections sometimes offered a bigger picture view, for example the role of (and impact on) the mother, father and siblings. Sometimes they were of a more practical nature, such as how to keep a three year old engaged in physical therapy as they learn how to make their left hand work again. The inclusion of these reflections have turned out to be a crucial part of the book - another example of God's ways being higher than mine. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.  “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8 NLT So with the structure of the book in place, the next stage was to start putting it all together. A relatively simple task I thought, until I started writing it. The plan was for the first two chapters to cover the first two weeks in hospital (diagnosis, surgery, recovery). It took me six months to write about those two weeks, even now I feel teary as I think about it. Every sentence was a re-living of the moment, a processing of another level of grief for years of a childhood and family life that were stolen. But in pushing through and writing about this I had a overwhelming sense that the telling of this story of God's love and faithfulness was part of the plan for His manifestation of Romans 8:28 in our lives, and ultimately the lives of others. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NKJV I remember sharing with a friend that I had started writing the book and that I expected it would take a year or so to complete. She wisely said to me something like, "Wendy, it's okay if it takes 6 years to write it." I am grateful that she said that, as in some way it gave me permission to rest and not strive. And the reality is that it has taken almost five years to finish the book. But God knew that it was going to be a long journey of not only writing, but also of emotional healing and understanding more about His grace. He brought people alongside to support and encourage me in so many different ways, emotionally, financially and technically. Here is one example of how He had gone before, preparing the way.... And the LORD, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV In late 2014 Alexandra and I went to the launch of the Delta society's book 'Dogs that make a difference - inspiring stories of dogs bringing hope, help and happiness to people's lives.' On many occasions when Victoria had been in hospital she had received visits from the Delta dogs, and they had certainly added some brightness to the day. At the book launch we met a lady that we hadn't seen for many years. She and her husband had helped Ken and I back in 2000 when we had one of our many boating misadventures when cruising from Sydney to Lake Macquarie. After a bit of chatting she explained that she was a member of the Lake Macquarie Fellowship of Australian Writers and that they had a monthly critique meeting where members could submit some of their writing and receive feedback. This sounded exactly what I needed, so I joined the group from September 2014 until December 2017. During that time my confidence and writing competency grew. The critique group gently encouraged me as sometimes the tears flowed when I relived moments of this journey. I appreciated their non-judgemental attitudes when helping me to tell my story even though we did not necessarily share the same faith. To me, this is another example of God's planning and provision for this project. He knew all those years ago when we had the boating incident that we would connect again with these people for a very different purpose. Thank you Jesus. So I toiled away on this project among family and business responsibilities, and volunteering at school and church. There wasn't an abundance of time, but when half an hour or so became available, I took it, madly scribbling on notepads, typing and reworking drafts. In January 2016 I felt God say to me, "Complete the first draft by the end of the year." Okay. I set to work with that goal in mind. The first six months of the year went really well and all was on track. But somehow in the second six months I was a bit distracted. A few days before school ended in December 2016 I remembered what God had said to me and went into a slight panic! There weren't many days of the year left, and I would soon have four children at home full time. Needless to say those Christmas holidays weren't the most exciting holidays for the children. I set up a desk in our bedroom and would lock myself in there each morning for a few hours with my laptop, notes and a box of tissues. As over five years later I still easily became overwhelmed with emotion when I read back through the events of 2011 to 2013. The children were very patient and gracious with me during this time. I put a sign on the door saying, "Mummy is working on her book. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Please pray for the book and that it will help many people." A week before the holidays ended, by the grace of God, the first draft of the book was completed. There had been a cost those holidays, emotionally and with missing out on some family time, but I had to trust that God had it sorted, and that His grace was sufficient for all of us. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV A few days later a beautiful lady from church approached me and said that she wanted to financially support me in the publishing of the book. Another reminder to me that God was the Project Manager, not me. He did have it sorted! At the Colour conference in 2017 God spoke to me again about the book project. It was the last day of the conference and I hadn't yet received anything that I knew to be specifically for me. So I prayed, God, what is it that you want to say to me here? During the next session of worship, the response came, "Take your family on the journey of this book." Within a couple of weeks I had an opportunity to do that. Victoria came home from school and was talking about her teacher's friend who had cancer. I asked Victoria how she would feel about giving the draft version of the book to encourage her. She was keen, so we discussed the idea with the teacher, and Victoria delivered the books. Once again God had shown me how important it was to keep seeking Him for direction and input. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV I was starting to understand that really this wasn't our story at all. But rather it was His story. Around this time I felt to ask some people to pray specifically for this project. I knew that prayer covering was going to be essential to getting this book completed. I'm grateful that they said yes. Around May 2017 we were having some parenting challenges and a wise friend of mine, who has known Ken and I since before we were married said to me, "Wendy, when you publish this book people will be looking at your family and your family's lives, it won't be much of a witness if your family is falling apart." Ooooh, that was hard to hear. But God was obviously using him to prepare the way for what He wanted me to do. As a month later God said to me, "Lay down the book and focus on your family's health and healing." So I surrendered the book. I didn't pursue the outstanding draft versions that were being reviewed. I stopped all work on the project, learned how to love my family better and God brought more healing and restoration. Once again He showed me that ... “I don’t think the way you think.     The way you work isn’t the way I work.”         God’s Decree. “For as the sky soars high above earth,     so the way I work surpasses the way you work,     and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Isaiah 55:8-9 The Message In February 2018 I felt God say, "It's time to start work on the book again." So I did, spending a couple of months making some final edits. As I was putting this blog post together I found this note that I'd written to myself, "Today 22/4/18, another round of editing. Not so emotional, rather, in awe of what God had brought us through and where we are today." Yes, over the years through writing God had been helping me to process the pain, disappointment and grief. Obviously there was a lot there, as it had taken almost 7 years to get to this place of being able to read our story without being a blubbering mess. He was gradually building the strength in me that I sense I will need for the next phase of this journey, whatever that is going to be. For the remainder of 2018 I worked on the cover and layout with my friend who is a graphic designer, another God story of re-connection after 7 years of living in different countries. Finally the first printed version of the book arrived on my desk in mid November 2018, almost five years after I made that first planning spreadsheet. What a journey, in no way comparable with the actual journey our family has been on, but still a journey of God's grace and faithfulness, and me learning more and more that His ways will always be better than mine and His timing is always perfect. What's more our family, still with some rough edges, is thriving and is in the healthiest place it has been in for almost 10 years. All praise and glory to Jesus. Now the book is complete I am trusting God will get the book to the people He wants to read it. One of my favourite stories so far .... I gave the book to my neighbour for Christmas, and a week later she came over to buy five copies for me to give to families in similar situations in hospital! We have made two versions of the book. At this stage they have the same content, but different titles. The first one, Victoria Grace - Living with victory through childhood cancer, has more of a story-focused title. Koorong has agreed to stock this version. For anyone interested my website for ordering this book is https://wendyrobinson.com.au/victoria-grace-by-wendy-robinson-paperback/ The second version is titled, Childhood cancer - a survival guide for parents, written by a parent. This is the version that we are hoping families who are in this situation will find when they are googling books to help them. I've had favourable discussions with various medical people and charities about this version. Again for anyone interested, or if you know someone who is in this situation, the website for ordering this book is https://childhoodcancerparentsguide.com/ This probably the longest post I've ever written on this blog, but my prayer is that what I have shared in this post will encourage you to keep going with whatever projects/dreams God has put on your heart, always listening closely for His direction, surrendering when and what He asks, and trusting that His ways are always best. What You'll Hear: One day he realized he needed to stop praying for himself and start praying for others Bill's pride kept him at first from taking a job being offered, but then he listened and God prospered him Nothing scares him.  His family is saved and God has taken care of him through the worst times Since being saved, he now looks to the Lord rather than someone else in order to make something happen Bill says he's over himself now.  You can't offend him. His family is his mission field.  Everything else is OK to fail at, but not your family. Fear is the only weapon Satan has.  We just need to be still. Remember to always tithe Q&A* continued from Episode 007 Tell Us About When You Went Through a Tough Time Financially One day it just hit me that God was saying "Bill, I've got this.  You're good". I had been praying for myself.  I  started looking around at all the foreclosed homes so I started praying for the people in the neighborhood instead. I got a call from a young guy John I had worked with before at Fedex.  I then got a job at Aramark running a sales team in Long Island.  I got promoted.  Through this we always tithed.  I then got a call from a headhunter who I had talked with earlier when I was looking for work who had previously told me I was a has-been. He had an opportunity in Greensboro and I just hung up on him because of my previous experience.  My wife challenged me to pray about it so I did and I checked out the job and took the job. It's amazing what God did through all this.  I was that has-been and no-one was going to bring me what God has brought me.  There's nothing that scares me.  My wife and daughters are saved and He's taken me through the worst I'm ever going to go through and showed me He'll take care of me. Talk About The Difference Between Your Success Before Being Saved and Your Success Now I used to look to what person I needed to make something happen.  Now I'm looking to the Lord. I'm still doing my job to the 100% of my abilities, but I'm not trying to finagle the next thing.  I've realized that if the Lord wants something for me I'll get it. I can still be successful but I know it's from Him, and I enjoy success so much more.  I'm now the COO and the founder was never going to give up that power.  That's what the Lord does. I'm over me now.  You can't offend me.  I don't lose my cool (I definitely could before). Spirit Round What is the Greatest Misunderstanding Men Have About Their Work? From a secular standpoint, the biggest misnomer is that we think our job is our life and it's not. From a Christian standpoint, my family is my mission field.  I can be great at everything but if my kids and wife aren't with the Lord I've done nothing. Everything else is fine to fail at, but not your family.  Make their lives in the Lord complete. Talk About Excelling in Your Job We have a set of values at work that are great and I support those and espouse them. I will fire someone if necessary and hold people accountable, but I can never do that in a non-fruit-of-the-spirit way. People know I'm a Christian so it matters how I act. What is Your Favorite Scripture and Why? Hebrews 11:3 "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." (NKJV) It reminds me what everything is all about.  It reminds me who's in charge. Frank Paretti "This Present Darkness" talks about how everyone in the world either has demons or angels around them that illustrates this. What Can You Recommend For the Commute to Work 830 AM Radio The Truth Network out of Greensboro. At 8am is John MacArthur, reminds me of Adrian Rogers.  He's a very good Bible teacher. K-Love.

In this podcast, we will discuss the ways in which you can win from within.

Greetings Folks, this program is about answering the call to serve the Lord and His flock as a member of His clergy. The group will discuss what it means to them to answer not only the call to minister but also what their personal experiences mean to them to do the Lords work as one of His representatives in preforming the duties as a member of clergy. As Christ Himself has said, “Many are called but few are chosen”. And before you say that, has nothing to do with being ordained, your right. But it does speak of being called to be one of His followers and yet, what does state so is Christ's remarks made by His apostle and very loved brother, John in his gospel, chapter 15 verse 16 and I quote, “16)You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and thatyour fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you”.(NKJV) It is on this basis that we confirm the right of proxy of the sacrament of Holy Orders of Ordination upon all those that seek to serve and ask. In this way it may be placed upon them according to His, Holy and Loving Will by the grace that is His to give freely by our heavenly Father. Until show time, and for more information and an application request form of Ordination go to our web site at http://www.cel

(Jonah 3: 1-2) “Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”   (Jonah 3: 3-5) “Jonah obeyed the word of the LORD and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very important city—a visit required three days. On the first day, Jonah started into the city. He proclaimed: "Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned." The Ninevites believed God. They declared a fast, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.”   (Jonah 3: 6-7) “When the news reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. Then he issued a proclamation in Nineveh: "By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let any man or beast, herd or flock, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.” (Jonah 3: 8-9) “But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish."”   (Jonah 3:10) “When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened.”     A Place to Change   How can we change direction in our lives?   1.     Listening to someone's story Share your story, email us at: info@freedom-church.org (Revelation 12:11) “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”   2.     Fear of Consequences (Romans 3:18) (NLT) “They have no fear of God at all.”           (Hebrews 10:31) (NKJV) “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”    (2 Thessalonians 1:9) (NLT) “They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.”   (Psalm 32:3-4) (NLT) “When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.  Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.  (Psalm 32:5) (NLT) “Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”  And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.” (Psalm 32:6-7) (NLT) “Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment. For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble.  You surround me with songs of victory.” 3.     Change our behavior (Isaiah 58:2) (NLT) “Yet they act so pious!  They come to the Temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me.  They act like a righteous nation that would never abandon the laws of its God.  They ask me to take action on their behalf, pretending they want to be near me.”   (Isaiah 58:3-4) (NLT) “‘We have fasted before you!' they say. ‘Why aren't you impressed?  We have been very hard on ourselves, and you don't even notice it!'” “I will tell you why!” I respond. “It's because you are fasting to please yourselves. Even while you fast, you keep oppressing your workers. What good is fasting when you keep on fighting and quarreling? This kind of fasting will never get you anywhere with me.” (Isaiah 58:5) (NLT) “You humble yourselves by going through the motions of penance, bowing your heads like reeds bending in the wind. You dress in burlap and cover yourselves with ashes.  Is this what you call fasting?Do you really think this will please the Lord? “They hurt enough that they have to” “Nobody changes until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change"     4.     There is a time limit (2 Peter 3:10) “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night…”   For more information on the vision of Freedom Church, please visit our website at www.freedom-church.org.
