Leviticus can be a difficult book to understand, and people who skim through it might find it to be one of those irrelevant parts of the Bible they hear about. But if we hear what the book is saying to us over and over to help make sense of it, all the hard to understand parts make a lot more sense. The phrase “Be holy for I'm holy” and variations of it recur eleven times in the book, and it's here that we start to make sense of what's going on. In this message, Pastor Joel explains what holiness actually is and why, despite seeming irrelevant to us today, Leviticus and holiness are so important in our own discipleship walks.

When I don't feel close to GodSymptoms can sometimes be 50/50. We can feel something and be wrong about it. Feelings are not always a true determinants of things.What to do when you don't feel close to God:1. Gaze on the constant nature of God. Jam1:17Regardless of what you feel or what's going on in your life, God is always constant. You might feel far from Him but He isn't. Ps139:7-12, Eph2:4-82. Feast on your knowledge of God. Your feelings don't matter as much as His nature. In difficult times, remember the goodness of God.Matt26:38-39, Phil4:62.Take your emotions to the place of prayer.4. Examine yourself 2cor13:5,7:8-10, matt27:2-5Deny ungodliness and worldly lust. Its sin to not call yourself forgiven when He calls you forgiven. Never submit to the emotions above His leading.5. Today's Promise: James 4:8 When we draw close to God, He draws close to us. First, you must cleanse your hands. You must leave behind the sin that moved you away from Him in the first place. Second, you must purify your heart. The birthplace of our actions is our heart. Our heart must be wholly His. When you change your heart and change your actions, you have the promise that as you return to Christ, He will welcome you into His presence. Your father will draw near to you as you draw near to Him.
