Conversations at the "table of creativity" - because we are ALL creative in our own unique ways.
This is the last podcast of 2021. Merry Christmas. In this episode I reflect on the holiness of lamenting losses during this season. I read a passage from Every Moment Holy, Volume II, as well as the Christmas Friday passage from Tish Oxenreider's book, Shadow & Light, A Journey Into Advent. I hope you enjoy.
This is a fantastic conversation about helping our families step into the making of a simpler Christmas. if you head over to www.thecreativetable.net and look at the blog post for this episode, you will find the books we talked about, some recipes as well as Tiffany's information for Desert Bloom Confections.
John and Angel Beeson spoke such incredible wisdom and love in the space of creative neighboring. It was great to chat with them about something I have watched their family do for many years. They talk about the wins, and the ‘bloopers', but more than anything they share from their hearts just how we are all called to lean into becoming better neighbors to whomever lives next to us. It is the perfect episode to enter into the holidays and the New Year with intention for connection! We talked about a few books in the episode. They are:The Art of Neighboring by Jay Pathak & Dave RunyonOne Thousand Gifts by Ann VoskampThe Turquoise Table by Kristin SchellAdditionally we talked about where you can find John & Angel.Angel is a Counselor at Whole Hope Counseling where she meets with clients both locally, nationally and internationally. John blogs at The Bee Hive and is a co-lead pastor at New Life Bible Fellowship
I got so lucky when I connected with Kim and we became friends several years ago. Even better was the gift that came when we began working together. She has so much insight and wisdom when it comes to navigating the parenting journey. While she is the first to admit she isn't perfect, her grace and humility speak to her wisdom. In this episode we talk about Creative Parenting as she and her husband, Ben, parent adult kids, teen kids and a 2nd grade kiddo!! We discuss discipline differences for kids, conversations, intentional time and learning how to love our kids well. You will be blessed whether you haven't begun having kids, you have a nest full or your next is empty!

This episode is posting later than usual (life went a little wonky the past 3 days), and it is not my normal episode. I simply wanted to take a small amount of time to encourage everyone to take an information break and soak in some quiet and peace. I am reading from the book, "Every Moment Holy" by Douglas Kaine McKelvey and I think everyone should have this book at the ready on their bookshelf. I hope you are blessed.
On this episode of The Creative Table Podcast I talk about some of the ways I have tried to create a Habit of Gratitude and how it has changed my mornings and my evenings. I also talk about some creative ways to share the Attitude of Gratitude by blessing others in this coming season. I hope you enjoy. Please check out the blog over at www.thecreativetable.net
Today's Episode is Part 2 of the conversation from last week. In this episode we talk about what our friendships looked like and the needs we had as young married women and new moms (really, as moms at every stage). And we also dive into what we thought friendship would look like at 50 years old - what it is and what it isn't. I hope that you will be blessed.
Today's episode is a chance to listen in on a conversation that a few girl friends and I had in early October while we were on a girl's trip to California. We took some time to talk about what friendship has looked like in different stages of life for us. From Kindergarten friendships, Junior High & High School, young moms and now as 50+ year old women. We laughed a lot, we cried a lot and we found that our hearts all experience hurts and healing and desires to have the last part of life filled with deep and lasting friendships. This is part one, and next week will be part 2. Thanks for listening!
Today's Episode was not really the one I planned - but God knows better than I do what needs to be planned or not! I'm taking a few minutes to talk about rest in this episode. We live in a world that is in constant "Go Mode" - that that's not a good thing...no matter how hard we try to make it so. You can find more information and content at http://www.thecreativetable.net/ Below are the books and Instagram accounts I mentioned in the episode:"To Hell With the Hustle" by Jefferson Bethke"The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry" by John Mark Comer"Sacred Rhythms" by Ruth Hailey BartonIG Accounts@everymomentholy@sacredordinarydays
On today's episode I share a little more of my story and journey with depression and anxiety. It is not always an easy path to journey along, but there is always hope and God is never a far away God, he is a right beside us God! As I mention in the episode, if you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please reach out to a friend, call 9-1-1 or the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 800-273-8255. No one needs to make this journey without help and support.
On this episode of the podcast I had the incredible honor and pleasure of sitting down with my friend, Zach Imboden. Zach is the Connections Pastor at New Life Bible Fellowship here in Tucson. He also happens to be my supervisor – and leads our Adult Ministries team (3 women and Zach…bless his heart!!). He and his wife are dear friends, and their 2 kids are simply the sweetest, funniest and most creative littles you could meet. Zach is also a Strength Coach for the Gallup Clifton Strengths Finders. This is an amazing tool that we dive deeper into during our conversation. I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation as much as we enjoyed having it!Zach Imboden Coaching – https://www.facebook.com/zachimbodencoaching/ Leading Well Podcast – https://leadingwell.cc/podcast Clifton Strength Finders Book & Assessment - https://www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths/
In today's episode I share a little of the journey I have been on to learn and implement Spiritual Practices into my life. It really started with this little word "hygge" and how that became a part of my daily routine. In the episode I talk about 2 books that I highly recommend:"Sacred Rhythms" by Ruth Haley Barton (you can follow her on IG at @transformingctr)"Every Moment Holy" by Douglas McKelvey (follow on IG at @everymomentholy)I really pray you enjoy this episode.
On this episode my guest and friend, Valerie McMahon, have a great conversation about the sometimes hard process of allowing God to set the path of our purpose and passions, instead of us seeking our own way of doing it. When we pursue our own way of making things happen instead of pursuing God and letting Him chart the course, we are left empty, exhausted, and unfulfilled. In this first episode I want to kick off with a deeper dive into why I feel so passionately that we need to change our thoughts and words concerning creativity (especially the words we speak to ourselves…). As someone who has had artistic people in my life from day 1 – and who has entered into artistic expression of some form or another since I was little, my heart literally aches when I hear people say “I'm just not creative”. It aches because that is simply not true. Let me put that a little more bluntly – that is a lie! I am not being flippant when I say that we are all made to be creative. How do I know this – because I believe that we were all made in the image of God, and if we were made in the image of God, the CREATOR, we were made to be creative. Join me as I share my heart about this subject.I would love to connect with you. You can follow me on Instagram or Facebook under the @thecreativetablepodcast or you can email me at TheCreativeTablePodcast@gmail.com. I am currently getting the website and weekly newsletter set up!Now...Go find a creative way to make someone smile!
This is The Creative Table Podcast - A place where everyone has a seat at the table because we are all creatively made. The Creative table will be a place of conversations with different people, in very different careers and stages of life, that engage their creative side in the areas of work, parenting, cooking, teaching, learning, and so much more. My hope is that you will find these conversations as inspiration to change the way you might look at the idea of ‘creativity' and that you would find your own creative spark in the things you do every, single day.
Hey y'all and welcome to The Creative Table podcast, a place where everyone has a seat at the table because we are all creatively made!
