Book 18 concludes with the reveal of the City of Worms (!!!) and a journey to a Bright Hole. Ax laughs. Do rebellious Andalites ever run away to join the Andalites circus? Should we explore the human instinct to slap a mosquito as a solution to waking coma patients? What is Andalite art like? What are the implications of how Z-space is deployed in this book? If the Andalites have Z-space tech, why the hell are they taking so long? And in the alternate timeline where the Andalites successfully land on earth, how do they handle interacting with humans?Support the showSupport us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/anidorks@anidorkspod on twitter! We finally finished the Andalite Chronicles! In this supersized episode, Elfangor goes to college, Loren ages rapidly to a narratively convenient age, and we finally learn the extraordinary origin of a beloved character: Hedrick Chapman!! If the Yeerk invasion is just starting in the 80s, why isn't it further along in the main series books? Who is this cosmic force of evil that the Ellimist reveals to Elfangor just before returning him to the Andalites? And what exactly is Elfangor implying when he claims to have found ways of absorbing several DNA patterns in order to create his human morph? Is he having lots of casual sex? We dig into Andalite bigotry, their general condescension towards the rest of the universe, and wonder when we'll finally meet a character critical of the Andalites who isn't an asshole. Andalite Chronicles might seem like an indie meet-cute about Elfangor and Loren, but maybe it's actually about Elfangor meeting Alloran. This book is narrated by Ax and is the oh so lovely mosquito book. The Animorphs discover a Yeerk plot to try and infest a high ranking secret service officer, so they move to intercept - but soon find themselves somewhere they absolutely did not expect to possibly be. Talking points include: diving into the Ax / Cinnabon scene, questioning if Andalites actually acquire morphs from their homeworld, and the logic behind the Yeerks yeeting a human they want to control with a car.Twitter: @MiddleMorphEmail: MiddleMorph@gmail.comWe acquired the DNA for our morphs from these awesome photographers: Dirk van Wolferen, Marc-Olivier Jodoin, and Billy Huynh via unsplash.comOutro Music is "Rat Catcher" by Eaters: https://freemusicarchive.org/music/eaters
We are finishing up Book 14, a Cassie book. We left off with the Animorphs heading to the race track to get more horse morphs so they can investigate why the Yeerks are interested in the Zone 91 military base, and then shenanigans ensue. So many shenanigans Talking points include: space toilets, how Andalites go to the bathroom, and how The Gardens is not Disneyland, not at all. After a disastrous attempt to reach out to the Yeerks, the Andalites have unwittingly released a race of parasitic slugs on the galaxy. After being banished to a backwater planet, the daughter of Seerow must rebuild her life by making an unlikely friend. Talking points include: Exactly when the Yeerk war started; not being like the other girls; and imperialism, kindness, and hypocrisy. And lots of musical interludes. Chelsea is a schoolteacher and it shows. Hannah majored in Political Science and minored in History. We both had A LOT to say about Imperialism and Animorphs!Topics include: The Irish diaspora and Potato Famine, the Hong Kong and Panama 99-year treaties, the Spanish-American War, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, one-child policies, third-culture children, white saviorism, 9/11 and the War on Terror, women's history in STEM, and the Native American Genocide (with a strange amount of focus on the Pennacook tribe). This week we morph into a popular "children's" book series turned not-so-popular TV show, Animorphs. And while teenagers morphing into animals is neat, we wanted to crack open the fascinating alien races of the mouthless, hoof feeders and brain huggers - better known as the Andalites and the Yeerks. This speak: During a botched mission, Andalite Aristh Aximili (and the Animorphs!) are unexpectedly aided by extra Andalites! Aximili is enthralled with the alluring Estrid, but his Animorph allies are only certainly skeptical. Aximili of course entertains his Andalite allies and adds his aid to their conspicuous cause. When the arguing Animorphs find themselves falling apart, it's up to Aximili to crack the code on his brave brethren's bold cold assassination attempt: their terrible target, the dreadly (amiright?) and deadly Andalite V-3! Is it Aximili's hour of power and glory? Or will it be downfalls and death and the end of the Animorph's story? Find out! This speak: the subtle differences between the hard & soft covers, Coleman's beef with the Hork-Bajir design, how with equal parts science and Ellimist anything is possible, how the Yeerks are like ISIS, how the Hork-Bajir homeworld doesn't have a proper name, but even if it did it would probably be something stupid, Aldrea's unlikely morphing ability, Tribe Trees and Father Deep, a Rick & Morty reference, several Star Wars references, Aldrea's poor brother Barafin and his bunk habits, why you should not be like the Arn, why the Arn are unbelievable dicks, an unlikely army of mind-controlled monsters, the Andalites continue to disappoint and suck at war, yet another interracial relationship in sci-fi, and the new Hork-Bajir seer means shits about to go down! The kids have done it now! As we ramp up to the thrilling conclusion of The Sorcerer's Stone, we find the children in perilous danger... because of detention?! That's right, we finally enter the titular Forbidden Forest, and just like Malfoy and Neville split up from Harry, Hermione and Hagrid, we split from the conversation by talking about the Andalites from Animorphs, Dumbledore's children's crusade, and get our first listener's voice message. We also introduce a very well thought out and designed Listener House Cup competition. You can send us a voice message question as well, at magiclessmyke@gmail.com or find us on Instagram and Twitter @magiclessmyke. Make sure you include your Hogwarts House in your messages for Listener House Cup points!
Kaycie and Alex are back with special guest Joy to casually discuss the Animorphs. On this mission Kaycie loses respect for Andalites, Joy weaponizes Chinese finger traps, and Alex sympathizes with the Yeerks, again. Join us each month on the first and the fifteenth for new episodes of Animorphs Anonymous
There's something pretty weird going on in the woods behind Cassie's house. The place where Ax and Tobias call home. It seems the Yeerks have figured out one very important thing: Andalites cannot survive without a feeding ground. Visser Three knows the "Andalite bandits" don't feed where he does, so there can only be one other place. Now Cassie, Marco, Jake, Rachel, Tobias and Ax have to figure out a way to stop a bogus logging camp. Because if Visser Three finds Ax in the woods, nothing will stop him from finding the Animorphs... -- Audiomorphs is an Animorphs podcast which is actually not so much a podcast as a bootleg audiobook. Releases every Friday.
We talk wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff; where Jake fall’s on Alex’s very scientific Leaderhip Spectrum; and what kind of sports and games Andalites play.(CW: Discussion of tropical diseases from 1:10:12 to 1:15:14.)PS: Meg’s volume is a little low this week; we’re sorry for that!
We janked up the timeline by skipping books and we're getting picked off of the show one-by-one as we accidentally unborn ourselves in our attempts to go back and fix the error. Uh-oh! With The Andalite Chronicles, we're hopping all the way back to before the story even began, now with the baggage of loving these children way too much.In addition to loving Andalites so goddamn much, we discuss: Improvised Burlesque Floor Routines, Are There Literally Any Andalite Women?, Ax Would Eat A Cat, Andalite Culture Is: Being Kind Of A Dumbass, Do Andalites Purr?, Andalites Better Purr, There Are No Yeerk Civilians, and Andalite Scratching Posts
The Andalites are back in town (but not the good ones), Ax only cheats on Cinnabon a little & kissing is less pleasurable than chocolate. All this & more on this week’s Fandalites!
Kaycie and Alex are back with special guest Jeremiah to discuss the Animorphs. On this mission Jeremiah properly doses Frontline, Alex can't tell time or direction, and Kaycie looses her mind. Twice. Join us each month on the first and the fifteenth for new episodes of Animorphs Anonymous.
Hey you guys, remember how Ancient Egypt was chock fulla white folks? No? Oh, well huh Alex Proyas, director of Gods of Egypt seems to disagree. Oh and also he made a bad movie, oops Alex! So we watched this Gods of "Egypt" movie and we fixed it up into the much much better Taramorphs, presented by Laura Linney playing Tara Reid. Its about a group of rowdy Egyptian teens who turn into animals with the help of their friends the Andalites to fight evil grey brain slugs, so it's actually Animorphs, but Tara insisted her name be in the title, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Also we fixed the trailers for Followers and Johnny English Strikes Again

This week Kyle, Matthew and Producer Natalie sit down with comedian Brent Schmidt to unpack the 90s love child of Scholastic and K.A. Applegate: Animorphs. And boy, is it a doozy. Brent's kind of obsessed, to say the least. He outlines the entire 54-book series (plus 10 companion novels) in painstaking detail, and everyone realizes just how fucking dark the series got as five kids struggled to save the human race in a universe populated by Andalites, Yeerks and Hork-Bajirs. Eventually they get to the main crew - Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Marco, Tobias and Ax - and Brent tells us all how it all ended. It may leave a tear in your eye. Weekly Rads: Lay's Southern Biscuits and Gravy Potato Chips, Pools, The Fade Out by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips Raddendums: The Andalite Chronicles, the Hork-Bajir Chronicles, The Ellimist Chronicles, Tomorrow People, Space Cases, Hey Dude, The Secret Adventures of Alex Mack, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, Frozen (Dir: Adam Green), Shawn Ashmore, Cousin Skeeter, Fake Nature, soaring on thermals
