In this episode of Watchin It, Donnell and Robert dive deep into episode 7 of Daredevil: Born Again titled Art for Art's Sake—and let's just say, one host is hyped, the other is heated. They debate whether this was the best or worst episode of the season, especially after a controversial reveal and abrupt end to the character Muse. From fight scenes and artistic liberties to questionable logic and surprising character choices, the duo breaks down everything scene-by-scene—with humor, heated rants, and even a few unexpected tangents. Plus, they touch on Val Kilmer's passing, underrated movies like Moonfall, a sneak peek at Marvel's stacked cast for Avengers: Doomsday, and lastly, Schedule I - a new game Robert has been playing. If you're into Daredevil, comic book lore, brutal episode critiques, or just hilarious banter—this one's a ride.Connect with us:
Spieglein, Spieglein an der Wand, is an SCHNEEWITTCHEN irgendwas interessant? Oder an MR. NO-PAIN? In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and Matt discuss the divisive 1999 techo-alien nightmare on water, Virus!Splitting headaches! Amusingly-dated 90s computer tech! Flirty chess foreplay! Unconvincing use of nautical terminology! Convenient escape chutes! A fast paced opening! A scene that was possibly referenced in 2022's Moonfall? FleshTech Borganisms! Casual reactions to horrible sights that would make Pinhead blush! An interesting (though occasionally miscast or uncommitted) cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, William Baldwin, an underused Cliff Curtis, the guy with Kuato growing out of him from Total Recall, a scene-stealing Sherman Augustus, and Donald Sutherland making one of the fastest greed-induced descents into madness you've ever seen! Impressive practical FX and animatronics, plus CGI overseen by the legendary Phil Tippett! A compelling argument against wireless technology with topical commentary on humans destroying the planet! All that and more in a film the lead actor claims is the worst movie ever made!In addition, Alex shares his spoiler-free thoughts on the new Canadian psychological thriller, Red Rooms, Gaspar Noé's Climax, and Zoe Saldana's new musical crime dramedy, Emilia Pérez! You can find Death Don't Do Fiction on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. ALISTAIR CROSS Alistair Cross' debut novel, The Crimson Corset, a vampiric tale of terror and seduction, was an immediate bestseller earning praise from veteran vampire-lit author, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, and New York Times bestseller, Jay Bonansinga, author of The Walking Dead series. In 2012, Alistair joined forces with international bestseller, Tamara Thorne, and as Thorne & Cross, they write – among other things – the successful Gothic series, The Ravencrest Saga. Their debut collaboration, The Cliffhouse Haunting, was a bestseller. They are currently at work on their next solo novels and a new collaborative project. In 2014, Alistair and Tamara began the radio show, Thorne & Cross: Haunted Nights LIVE!, which has featured such guests as Anne Rice of The Vampire Chronicles, Charlaine Harris of the Southern Vampire Mysteries and basis of the HBO series True Blood, Jeff Lindsay, author of the Dexter novels, Jay Bonansinga of The Walking Dead series, Laurell K. Hamilton of the Anita Blake novels, Peter Atkins, screenwriter of HELLRAISER 2, 3, and 4, worldwide bestseller V.C. Andrews, and New York Times best sellers Preston & Child, Christopher Rice, and Christopher Moore. TAMARA THORNE Tamara Thorne's first novel was published in 1991. Since then she has written many more, including international bestsellers Haunted, Bad Things, Moonfall, and The Sorority. Tamara's interest in writing is lifelong, as is her fascination with the paranormal, occult, mythology and folklore. She's been an avid ghost story collector and writer all her life. Tamara's novels range from straight-out ghost stories to tales of witchcraft, conspiracies, UFOs, elemental forces, and vampires. No matter what topic she chooses, chances are you'll find a ghost or two lurking in the background. Today, she and her frequent collaborator, Alistair Cross, share their worlds and continue to write about ghosts and other mysterious forces. Whether collaborating or writing solo, there is no shortage of humor, sex, blood, and spookiness. Tamara also conducts real-life investigations of anomalous phenomena and has seen a number of odd things over the last twenty years. As an open-minded skeptic, she's spoken to many paranormal groups and has appeared on the television show, Ghost Adventures. Most recently, she and Alistair Cross went on a five-day investigation to an allegedly haunted cabin in California's Gold Country - an adventure that inspired The Cliffhouse Haunting. She has also been featured on many radio programs and in various newspapers on the topics of haunted places and local lore. A journalist by training, she occasionally writes about ghosts and hauntings for a syndicate of southern California newspapers, but her first love is, and has always been, telling ghost stories to make people scream. . . and laugh. Tamara and Alistair co-host Thorne & Cross: Haunted Nights LIVE! every Thursday night on Blog Talk Radio. You can also visit Tamara on Twitter, Facebook, or at her blog.

3BG's worse film of 2022! Oh no! The moon is gonna kill us because it's being controlled by an ancient A.I. our ancient ancestors made during a utopian era of technology! Save us Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson and Samwell from Game of Thrones!
Today on the show we have Oscar® and two-time Emmy® Nominee Simon Kinberg. He has established himself as one of Hollywood's most prolific filmmakers, having written and produced projects for some of the most successful franchises in the modern era. His films have earned more than seven billion dollars worldwide. Kinberg graduated from Brown University and received his MFA from Columbia University Film School, where his thesis project was the original script, “Mr and Mrs Smith.” The film was released in 2005, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.Upcoming, Kinberg will premiere his action spy film “The 355”, which will be released theatrically by Universal on January 7, 2022. Directed, co-written and produced by Kinberg, the film was one of the biggest deals out of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and stars an ensemble of A-list actresses including Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o, Penelope Cruz, Diane Kruger and Fan Bingbing.A dream team of formidable female stars come together in a hard-driving original approach to the globe-trotting espionage genre in The 355.When a top-secret weapon falls into mercenary hands, wild card CIA agent Mason “Mace” Brown (Oscar®-nominated actress Jessica Chastain) will need to join forces with rival badass German agent Marie (Diane Kruger, In the Fade), former MI6 ally and cutting-edge computer specialist Khadijah (Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong'o), and skilled Colombian psychologist Graciela (Oscar® winner Penélope Cruz) on a lethal, breakneck mission to retrieve it, while also staying one-step ahead of a mysterious woman, Lin Mi Sheng (Bingbing Fan, X-Men: Days of Future Past), who is tracking their every move.As the action rockets around the globe from the cafes of Paris to the markets of Morocco to the opulent auction houses of Shanghai, the quartet of women will forge a tenuous loyalty that could protect the world—or get them killed. The film also stars Édgar Ramirez (The Girl on the Train) and Sebastian Stan (Avengers: Endgame). The 355 is directed by genre-defying filmmaker Simon Kinberg (writer-director-producer of Dark Phoenix, producer of Deadpool and The Martian and writer-producer of the X-Men films). The screenplay is by Theresa Rebeck (NBC's Smash, Trouble) and Kinberg, from a story by Rebeck. The 355, presented by Universal Pictures in association with FilmNation Entertainment, is produced by Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Chastain's Freckle Films and by Kinberg for his Kinberg Genre Films. The film is executive produced by Richard Hewitt (Bohemian Rhapsody), Esmond Ren (Chinese Zodiac) and Wang Rui Huan. His original series “Invasion” premiered on Apple TV+ on October 22nd. He co-created the show with David Weil, serves as Executive Producer, and wrote or co-wrote 9 of its first 10 episodes. It is considered one of Apple's most ambitious series to date as it was filmed on 4 different continents. The show has already been renewed for a second season, which Kinberg is show running and Executive Producing again. He is also the Executive Producer of the upcoming show “Moonfall” for Amazon. Also upcoming, Kinberg produced the sequel to "Murder on the Orient Express,” “Death on The Nile,” directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Annette Bening and another all-star cast. Needless to say this is one heck of an episode. In this episode, writer Andi Carter discusses Andrew Lloyd Weber's 1981 musical Cats. Andi and I last talked about Cats in episode 32 in December of 2019. He returns to discuss how the new production of Cats: The Jellicle Ball at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York changes, or does not change, how we talk about Cats. There will be some small spoilers for this production. We also talk about the song "Moonfall" from Rupert Holmes's 1985 musical The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Ciao Ciao. Learn more about your ad choices. This week, we're taking up arms against the British and making moves on our dead wife's sister as we get downright independent with 2000's The Patriot, directed by Roland Emmerich, and starring Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger, Jason Isaacs, Tom Wilkinson, Joely Richardson, Chris Cooper, Rene Auberjonois, Donal Logue, Adam Baldwin, Gregory Smith and a young Logan Lerman. Try as we might to tie into this week's release of Alex Garland's Civil War, this is a war epic about the War of Independence, and just like Independence Day, when America needed a rousing, slightly fascistic display of patriotism via action cinema, you need the propagandist touch that can only come from a German. This movie is also nearly three hours long, so needless to say, Hayley hated it. Meanwhile J Mo's got a theatrical field report on Sydney Sweeney's latest, Immaculate, and Hayley's getting down with some crunchy sugar cereals. Other works discussed on this episode include The First Omen, The Omen, The First Purge, The Purge, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Dark Side of the Ring, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Ghostbusters (2016), Isle of Dogs, The French Dispatch, Asteroid City, The Royal Tenenbaums, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Moonfall, Small Soldiers, Zodiac, Full Metal Jacket, Firefly / Serenity, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Princess Diaries, Waterworld, Escape From New York, the music of Queens of the Stone Age, Ima Robot and Diana Ross & The Supremes, and the video games Spider-Man: Miles Morales and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We'll be back next week as we stay in the early 2000s with a completely different type of picture: the 2004 rom-com Along Came Polly, an unseen selection from Hayley's collection that packs a dynamite supporting performance from Philip Seymour Hoffman. If you'd like to watch the movie along with us it is currently streaming on Starz in Canada at the time of publication. Until then, we'll see you at the movies!!
Happy April Fools! For our annual so-bad-it's-good episode Matt from The Matt and Mark Movie Show joins me to talk "Moonfall." The last gasp of a dead genre from the 90s and 00s, and one of the most expensive independent films ever it crashed hard at the box office. Inherently flawed, and seemingly written by an AI, there is still a lot to treasure in this bizarre conspiracy thriller. Kankakee Valley Theatre Association presents...THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD ~ Based on Charles Dickens' final unfinished novel, this hilarious whodunit invites the audience to solve its mystery by choosing the identity of the murderer. The tale is presented as a show-within-a-show, as the Music Hall Royale - a delightfully loony Victorian theatre company - presents Dickens' brooding mystery. Musical numbers include “Perfect Strangers,” “Don't Quit While You're Ahead,” “Off To The Races” and “Moonfall.”In this podcast episode, host Jake Elmore talks with Tyler McMahon, director of "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" at the Kankakee Valley Theater Association. They reminisce about past theater experiences and delve into the intricacies of the current production. Tyler discusses the challenges actors face when playing characters within characters and the unique audience participation element where the show's ending is determined by audience vote, with 44 possible outcomes. The conversation highlights the show's blend of humor, mystery, and the immersive experience it provides, as well as the dedication of the cast and crew in bringing this complex and interactive musical to life.GET YOUR TICKETSSHOWTIMESSaturday, February 3 ~ 7:00 PMSunday, February 4 ~ 2:00 PMFriday, February 9 ~ 7:00 PMSaturday, February 10 ~ 7:00 PM---- Support the show

We kick off season 38 with Independence Da-- Moonfall. A movie that's like Independence Day, but half as good, or twice as bad depending on how you look at it. This movie is different from every other movie we've ever watched because the primary antagonist is the Moon. You read that correctly. We need to kill the fucking moon. We'd say don't watch this one, but our show depends on you watching it, so don't not do that. Sam the slayer suckered by big cinema! The Birkenstock vegetarian hippy Mayan moon potato joke! Joking about John Bradley jumping into jeans! Inflating Elon's ego! Space fire (again)! American exceptionalism! Deploying a couple dudes on daycare detail! Yelling NASA jargon and dumb people! Accidental Eureka tropes! Halle Berry! Sci-fi tropes skewed through a poo poo lens! Disappointing lack of squid wiggles, and much, much more on this week's episode of The Worst Movie Ever Made! www.theworstmovieevermade.com Email us with movie suggestions, so we don't have to watch Moonfall again.
