Pastor Bruce Garner // Sunday, December 6, 2020 WHY DOES CHRISTMAS MATTER? This year we may more easily identify with the longing of the people who witnessed the arrival of the Son of God in the world. Before Sunday, Read John 1:1-18 several times. Ponder verse 18 in particular. It is astonishing. I will try to tell you all about it on Sunday in our 9:00 and 10:30a services. CrossPoint Church: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crosspointh... Pastor Bruce Garner // WHAT IF? That's a question I've been asking myself a LOT. Probably you've been doing the same. This Sunday, we will open one of the little jewels of the Old Testament - the book of Habakkuk. Habakkuk wrote some 600 years before the birth of Jesus. He was troubled by the wickedness of his nation and asked God about it. He was not expecting the answer: God would judge His people through the mighty army and empire of Babylon. As you can imagine, that caused Habakkuk even MORE distress. But then, he understood, and he prayed. Before Sunday, READ the WHOLE book. It is short and it could not be more timely for people living under the cloud of WHAT IF?
The Chiefs scored three unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter to rally past the 49ers 31-20 at Super Bowl 54 in Miami. Patrick Mahomes is the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl 54. He finished the game 26-of-42 for 286 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for KC, and also scored a rushing touchdown. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is finally a Super Bowl champion. Before Sunday's win over the 49ers, Reid had the most career coaching wins in the NFL without a Super Bowl victory. Kansas City will have a Super Bowl championship parade on Wednesday afternoon. The National World War One Museum and Memorial will provide vantage points on the north lawn. It will conclude with a rally at Union Station.
Before Sunday, Alberto Bettiol had not won a professional bike race. The Tour of Flanders was some way to get off the mark. Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe discuss the EF Education First rider's surprise victory and ask how he was able to stay clear of the star-packed chasing group from the top of the Oude Kwaremont all the way to the finish line. We hear from his sports director Andreas Klier and team-mate Sebastian Langeveld about how they pulled it off. Then we turn our attention to Sunday's Paris-Roubaix. Daniel unveils his now regular list of top 18 favourites and we hear Taylor Phinney's unique take on things. **The Cycling Podcast is supported by Rapha and Science in Sport.** **OUR SPONSORS** **Rapha** has just launched its new custom kit giving you the chance to design your own Rapha kit.
