During Todd's childhood, his mom mysteriously passed away in a bathtub "accident." Then, his stepmom also mysteriously passed away from another accident four years later. Coincidence? Absolutely not. His father was an abusive spouse who was found guilty and sentenced to two life sentences in both North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Todd is telling the story from the childhood survivor of domestic violence point of view. Thank you for listening, and supporting Champions of Abuse! Recently, especially during quarantine, a lot of champions have been trapped in their homes with their abusers. And although they don't feel safe or happy, they are afraid to leave due to backlash from their religious establishment. I wanted to unpack that, so I invited my friend Pastor Dave, a Southern Baptist Pastor to speak on behalf of his opinions and how he manages abuse within his congregation.Thank you for listening, and supporting Champions of Abuse! Customs wrestling, an underground wrestling scene, where private viewers can pay to match up a fight, often turns ugly and inappropriate, as you can imagine. The minimal to zero amount of restriction and oversight by major wrestling companies to protect their wrestlers during these matches really allows for rape culture and coercion to spiral out of control. Rob, Risa, Jen and I have a panel discussion about why "Customs" are so dangerous to wrestlers and the wrestling community. Thank you for listening, and supporting Champions of Abuse! Sometimes we feel like we're lacking in support... but what do we believe "support" is, anyway? It's all in the definition that we believe describes the word... which can affect how we create (since we believe words define our creations)! And the rabbit hole opens wider from there...
