American voters deserve to know where all the presidential candidates stand on court packing. At a CNN town hall on October 23, a voter asked Harris if she would be open to expanding the number of justices on the U.S. Supreme Court. Harris indicated openness to such a proposition, saying, “I do believe there should be some kind of reform of the Court.” Harris has also previously said she is “open” to court packing. Joel David Beal was a U.S. Marine veteran who served from 2006 until 2010 including deployment to Iraq in 2008. As reported by the military media outlet, Task and Purpose, Beal received multiple military awards for his service and left the service with the rank of Lance Corporal.   After he left the marines, he worked as a mechanic and a technician, repairing wind turbines. A year ago Beal went to Ukraine to fight alongside the country's military forces against the Russian invasion. He helped form what became known as Chosen Company, made up of foreign fighters attached to Ukraine’s 59th Motorized Brigade. He was killed in combat in October, six months after he began his service. We hear about Beal and his experience in Ukraine from his partner Alex, whose real name we are not using for security reasons.

This week's Urban Valor episode features Marine veteran, Spencer Zeisset, also known as Z. Z grew up in Bethalto, Illinois. As a kid, he and his friends would create fight games and engage in hand-to-hand combat. On one occasion, Z's eye was nearly injured by a sharpened spear during one of these games. He recounts the incident when he was sent flying through a van window as it rolled over and came to a stop on top of him.Z's inspiration to become a Marine was ignited by playing video games like Halo and Battlefield. Enlisting as an 0311 Infantry Rifleman, he became a part of the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, Charlie Company. Alongside his military service, Z discovered his knack for designing military-themed art. Following his time in the Marine Corps, he established a company named “Phaseline” and elevated his artistry to new heights.

Gino was born and raised in Pomona, CA. At the age of 14, he joined the Devil Pups program, which inspired him to want to become a United States Marine. Gino initially wanted to enlist in the infantry; however, some of his veteran family members convinced him to choose an occupation that would make for a smoother transition back into the civilian world, so he picked supply. He conducted three deployments during his enlistment. After transitioning out of the Marine Corps, Gino founded Vibe Fitness Training Center in Rialto, CA. Gino is an excellent example of a veteran who used his military experience to build a successful business, and much of what he learned in the Marines is present in his business.#veteran #military #urbanvalor #marines #usmarine #usmarines

Former U.S. Marine Daniel Penny has been charged after the man he put in a chokehold died. Penny used the chokehold on homeless street performer Jordan Neely after the 30-year-old began acting erratic, throwing trash, and having repeated outbursts. Penny's attorney says several witnesses reported Neely making threats. Penny remained on the scene to talk with police and was not arrested.
