Mike and Franklin celebrate in style the 5th anniversary of Math and Musings.
Historian Kevin Impellizeri shares a story of a video game controversy to his friends, but this time it's special because it is the fifth birthday of Scandalous Games! In honor of five years of wild advertising campaigns, colorful characters, and panics of all shapes and sizes, we go back to the well of the Clown Prince of Anti-Simulated Crime...Mr. Jack Thompson. Join Kevin as he performs a dramatic reading of the statement Thompson wanted to read in protest of his 2008, one he never got to deliver because the judge wouldn't let him, prompting him to storm out of his own hearing.Content Warning: brief mention of suicide (25:26-26:21), lynchings and the Holocaust (28:45-29:46), and child sexual abuse (34:20-36:05). Read the full transcript of Jack's statement here: Stephanie Sterling, "Jack Thompson walks out of hearing, court recommends disbarment," Destructoid, June 4, 2008, https://web.archive.org/web/20200810161210/https://www.destructoid.com/stories/jack-thompson-walks-out-of-hearing-court-recommends-disbarment-89091.phtml. And, of course, his disbarment ruling: The Florida Bar v. Send us Fan MailFive years ago, I hit publish with a simple goal: make mental health easier to talk about and easier to access. Now, Resilience Development in Action is built specifically for first responder mental health, because police, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and dispatchers carry stress and trauma most people never see, then get told to just push through it.I'm sharing what's kept this podcast steady for weekly Wednesdays, including the behind-the-scenes support that makes the audio and video work, plus why I keep sponsorships limited to tools and brands I genuinely stand behind. You'll also hear why I don't want mental health care to be something you reach for only at the breaking point. I make the case for wellness visits, a practical “checkup from the neck up” that mirrors how we treat physical health and lowers the barrier to getting support early. We also dig into the work I'm doing with departments through FRTRESS, with a focus on education, familiarity, and referrals that actually fit the culture. And if you're curious about the video side, I point you to Apple Podcasts video and YouTube, plus a fun giveaway tied to what you can see on camera. If you've ever thought “I'm fine” while carrying too much, hit play. Then subscribe, share the show with someone on your shift, and leave a review so more first responders can find trusted mental health resources. The Behind the Badge and Beyond Website is: https://www.behindthebadgeandbeyond.com/My website is: www.steve-bisson.comVideo version of the podcast is available at: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/resilience-development-in-action-first-responder-mental/id1569606639Freed.ai: We'll Do Your SOAP Notes!Freed AI converts conversations into SOAP note.Use code Steve50 for $50 off the 1st month!DeemedFit: First Responder OwnedWe are a first responder owned company looking to get first responders in the best mental shape.Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Five years on, and now with Requiem to follow it, we return to Ethan's Eastern-European Expedition as we re-evaluate Resident Evil Village! Is this a fitting end to the Winters saga? Episode 188 of the Investor Professor Podcast marks a major milestone—five years of investing insight, market cycles, and consistent discipline. We reflect on the journey from the very first episode in May 2021 to today, breaking down how the markets have performed (spoiler: the Nasdaq leads the pack) and, more importantly, how investors navigated bear markets, corrections, and nonstop macro noise along the way. This episode goes beyond the numbers, emphasizing the real driver of long-term success: consistency, persistence, and the ability to stay invested even when the market feels uncertain. Alongside the anniversary reflection, the episode dives into current market dynamics—from Big Tech earnings and AI-driven GDP growth to the collapse of Spirit Airlines and shifting sector performance between defense and technology stocks. We connect past lessons to today's opportunities, reinforcing the importance of thinking long-term, avoiding the trap of confusing trading with investing, and making intentional decisions your future self will thank you for. As always: get your mind right, stay disciplined, and don't mistake activity for achievement.*This podcast contains general information that may not be suitable for everyone. 5‑Year Anniversary EpisodeIn this special 5‑year anniversary episode of TK's Chronicles of a Black Sheep, we're calling out something too many of us live with but rarely name out loud: micromanagement — not just at work, but in life. From people who think they know what's best for you…to systems that try to box you in…to the expectations that hover over your shoulder like you owe them something…Micromanagement can drain your spirit long before it ever touches your schedule. The crew breaks down how micromanagement shows up in relationships, family dynamics, workplaces, and even in our own self-talk. This episode is about reclaiming your autonomy, your voice, and your right to move through the world without someone narrating your every step. And because this marks five years of Black Sheep storytelling, healing, and truth, we're celebrating the growth, the grit, and the community that made this journey possible. Five years of choosing authenticity over approval. Five years of saying the quiet parts out loud. Five years of reminding every Black Sheep that their path is valid, sacred, and theirs alone. This episode is a toast — to freedom, to boundaries, and to the next five years of living life on your own terms.

Veterans of the Vietnam War came home carrying something they had no words for, and in many cases they never found any. And yet — decade after decade, one act of preservation at a time — people have refused to let their experiences disappear. And that refusal is its own kind of service.

Hi everybody, and welcome to our 5th Anniversary celebration! I started this podcast during the pandemic when musicians like me could neither perform nor even rehearse. I needed something creative to do, and someone suggested to me that I should start a podcast. But I had no idea what that was. I had never even listened to one.But the more I looked into it the more I thought why not give it a shot. I had no audience and no guests, but I did have an idea - to encourage people to follow their dream, just as I had followed my youthful music dream later in life.So on March 21, 2021 I aired my first show. My guest was “Cousin Brucie” Morrow, America's most famous radio personality, a friend of mine and a true National Treasure. Bruce introduced the Beatles at Shea Stadium in 1965! And from there I was off to the races. The show started to catch on and grow. It took two years to get to 1 million downloads. Today we're at 4.5 million downloads with listeners on every continent in 200 countries! I've now released over 725 episodes. My guests are all world class creative artists - musicians, actors, authors, directors, photographers, storytellers, even poets. My interviews are conversations, with humor and respect. And I'm pleased to say that some of my guests have become musical collaborators with me as well, which is the icing on the cake.I want to thank you, the audience, for making this show so popular. I look forward to year 6. As I like to say, keep on rockin - and we'll see you in the next episode.—-----------------------------------------------------------The Follow Your Dream Podcast:Top 1% of all podcasts with Listeners in 200 countries! In typical "tail-wagging-the-dog" fashion, Donald Trump tries to distract the attention of the American people from his many and mounting problems by launching an unlawful attack on a foreign sovereign nation, Venezuela. He then goes on TV on the morning of January 6th 2026, and gives a long, rambling press conference - his decline and dementia on full display - and tries to distract the American people from the fact that today marks the fifth anniversary of Trump's attack on and refusal to stop once in progress the United States Capitol. But Trump's distractions will fail. The people of the United States, who are dedicated to the rule of law and determined to preserve American democracy, will not be distracted. A look back at 2025, our fifth year of doing the show!
It's been five years since a mob of President Trump's supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol to try to disrupt the certification of the presidential election that he lost. A much smaller but ardent crowd of his supporters returned to the site of the 2021 insurrection, marking the first Jan. 6 since Trump fully pardoned them for their actions on that day. White House correspondent Liz Landers reports. PBS News is supported by - https://www.pbs.org/newshour/about/funders. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy
Brian Karem, Mark Zaid, and John T. Bennett discuss the recent abduction of Venezuelan leader Nicholas Maduro, exploring the legal and tactical implications of the operation, the aftermath of U.S. intervention in Venezuela, and the broader implications for international relations. On this fifth anniversary of attack on the U.S. Capitol, House Democrats reconvene the January 6 investigative committee. January 6, 2026, is the 5th anniversary of Donald Trump's unsuccessful coup to overthrow the election of Joe Biden as President. Unfortunately, the Justice Department and Democrats failed to hold Trump accountable for the coup and once re-elected, Trump pardoned all those convicted of violent actions at the Capitol. On January 3, Indivisible ADK/Saratoga held a rally in Glens Falls to remind people of the coup. That morning Trump kidnapped the President of Venezuela, killing at least 40 people in doing so. Joe Seeman talks with Mark Dunlea of Hudson Mohawk Magazine about the event.

A fifth anniversary deserves a true origin story, and ours begins with a manager who meant well and nearly torched hard-won credibility. We rewind to the first Bosshole Chronicles episode and unpack two moments that shaped our mission: a plant visit where a leader faked fluency and a high-stakes client dinner that turned into a monologue. The details are uncomfortable on purpose—because every leader has felt the urge to fill silence, prove expertise, or take control at the worst time.HERE ARE MORE RESOURCES FROM REAL GOOD VENTURES:Never miss a good opportunity to learn from a bad boss...Click HERE to get your very own Reference Profile.
